tallguyshortgirl - how it all began

Hi! with our first blogpost we want to tell the tale of tallguyshortgirl:

It all began with a trip to the rural life of yamaguchi prefecture. With nothing going on it quietly lies in the south of Honshu, waiting for time to pass by. Going there with a height of almost 2 meter it's not surprising to catch some attention, so not a day went by without the two magic questions: "how tall are you?" and "do you play basketball?". After getting asked for the 7th time a friend joked: "You should have a shirt saying 'I don't play basketball!’". "Hm...", the tall guy thought, "yes i should."

さて、tallguyshortgirlブログも始めてみます。 私たちのブランドですので、新商品情報に紛れて私たちの好きなことを書きます。 いつの間にか旅日記になっているかもしれないし、レシピ集になっているかもしれません。 しかし一番目の投稿は、このブランドのはじまりのお話をしてみようと思います。 今年のGW2日目の朝。 我が家のメンバーのうち3人で、せっかくの休み出しどこかへ旅行でも行くかという話になり、楽器と数日分の着替えを用意しとりあえず出かけたのです。 レンタカーを借りていたわけでもなく、とりあえず電車で北へ向かいました。 結局なぜか4日間ものんびり山口県にいたわけですが、旅の道中、約2mもあるドミニクはどこへ行ってもおばちゃん、おじちゃんに 「わー、大きいねー。身長何cm？」と言われるわけです。 そして二言目には必ず「バスケットしてるの？」と。 毎回3人で顔をあわせてクスリとする、そんな感じ。 そこから「バスケットボールはしません。」って書いたTシャツ着た方がいいよー、なんて話になり、本当につくっちゃたというのがはじまりです。 そこからブランドにする話とかコンセプトとかtallguyshortgirlという名前の話とか、半分冗談でどんどん決まっていって、今となってはよくわかりません。 しかし、全ては「I don't play basketball」というデザインから始まったのです。 そんな思い出深いデザイン。 ぜひこんな経験のある方に知って欲しいストーリーです。
