There were far worse fates than being a whore. If it meant that you were able to make it another day in this world, you were willing to do it. Even if that meant selling yourself for a few crowns.
It wasn't all bad, there were some who treated you with kindness and respect, others who didn't, and some who weren't even sure how to treat a woman. They were the ones you felt most sorry for, the ones who just wanted to feel a bit of kindness and were too afraid to go and get it from elsewhere. Or simply had nowhere else to turn.
Tonight was one of the quieter nights. Most of the men were either gone or asleep. You could hear the low murmurs of the few that were still awake, soft moans from the rooms next to you as they had their fun. The smell of sweat and sex hung heavy in the air, it had become something you'd grown accustomed to over the years.
You were lounging around with the other girls, laughing and talking as the night dragged on, when you heard the sound of hooves against the dirt outside, and the creak of a cart.
One of the girls, named Lina, came stumbling in, she was extremely drunk, almost tripping over herself as she tried to regain her balance. Her dress was askew and her hair was messy.
This was a common occurrence for her these days, ever since her man had died she had thrown herself into a bottle, trying to forget. You couldn't blame her for it, she was in pain and she needed an escape, you just wished that her solution didn't cause such destruction.
She plopped down onto the floor next to you and laid her head in your lap. "You're always so warm and soft, just like a pillow" she giggled and rubbed her head into you, like a cat seeking comfort.
You softly ran your fingers through her hair, untangling the knots as best you could. "How are you feeling, sweetie?"
"I feel great," she slurred. "Any work?"
"Not at the moment, no" you sighed.
"That's a shame," she said, looking up at you with big, sad eyes. "I'm low on coin,"
"We all are," said another of the girls, a pretty blonde girl by the name of Kari. She was less sympathetic to Lina's situation than you were.
"If you don't have coin, then leave. Don't stay here and take up our space," she snapped.
"Kari" you hissed, trying to get her to back off, but she ignored you.
"What? I'm right" she scoffed.
You were interrupted by a group of men entering the brothel, loud and obnoxious. They were all dressed in fine clothes, reeking of alcohol and crowns, just what you had been waiting for.
Lina was instantly on her feet, swaying a little but keeping her balance as she walked over to greet the newcomers.
"What can I help you with, my lords?" she asked, her voice a low purr as she batted her eyelashes.
Kari gave you a pointed look and went off to tend to another customer, leaving you alone to deal with the new arrivals.
They all looked like typical nobility. Clean-shaven and dressed in silk. You had a good eye for these sorts of things. It was easy to spot the difference between a merchant and a noble, and these men were definitely nobles.
They were also clearly drunk, slurring their words and stumbling around the place, laughing at everything.
Lina was already leading two of the men away, no doubt eager to earn a few coins and keep her drinking habits intact.
You turned your attention to the man standing to the side of the group. He was tall and slender, with fair skin and long blonde hair. His eyes were a piercing blue, like two pools of ice.
He smiled at you and stepped forward, extending a hand towards you. "Have you ever had a prince before?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
You took his hand and returned his smile. "No, my lord, I can't say I have,"
You have heard many men claim to be one noble or another, sweet little lies they tell you as a way to seem important. It mattered very little to you, they were all the same when it came down to it.
Kari came sauntering back into the room, her dress slipping off her shoulder as she walked. She looked over at you and the blonde man and raised an eyebrow.
You smiled at her and leaned in closer to the man. "Kari, this one is a prince, isn't he handsome?"
Kari's eyes widened and she let out a small gasp, bowing dramatically, her dress slipping even further down her chest, revealing her cleavage.
"Prince Daemon Targaryen," he announced, his chest puffed out.
"I've never met a prince before," she said, her voice filled with awe. She was over doing it just a little, and you had to fight the urge to laugh at her performance.
"Oh, but I can change that," he replied, a smirk on his face.
Kari grinned and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her body against his.
"I'm sure you can," she whispered, her breath hot against his ear.
His other arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you into his side.
You felt a tingle run down your spine, he was quite handsome and you could see the appeal of bedding a prince, even if you didn't actually believe his claim.
"Why don't we all get comfortable," he said, his voice low and deep.
You and Kari exchanged glances, grinning at each other, rich men usually pay well.
The two of you led the prince up the stairs, his arm still wrapped around you, his hand resting on your hip. The three of you entered the room, the door slamming shut behind you. He wasted no time in grabbing hold of Kari and kissing her, his hands roaming her body.
You watched with fascination as the two of them kissed and touched each other, their bodies moving together. Without looking at you, he reached out and grabbed you, pulling you towards him and kissing you passionately.
"Double the pleasure, double the coin, my prince," Kari stated gently, breaking the kiss and stepping away from him. She was always keen on making the payment clear, before the fun could begin.
"Are you questioning my generosity?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kari shook her head. "No, of course not. I would never do such a thing,"
You nodded in agreement.
The man looked at the two of you, a slight smile on his face. "Do you think a prince cannot afford two whores?" he asked, his tone playful.
You smiled at him, "No, we know you can," and you hoped that you were right.
He grinned and kissed you again, a little more aggressive this time. He nipped at your bottom lip, his teeth grazing against the sensitive skin.
"Kneel for your prince," he commanded, his voice firm.
You and Kari exchanged amused looks, then both kneeled before him. She began to untie the laces of his trousers while you looked up at him with innocent eyes, your tongue running across your bottom lip.
"What's it like? To ride a dragon," you asked him, genuinely curious.
"Like nothing else," he replied.
You could tell that he was getting impatient, his eyes darkening with lust. His hand ran through your hair, gripping it tightly and pulling your head back.
"Suck," he ordered, and you obeyed, wrapping your lips around the tip of his cock. You slowly took more of him into your mouth, using your tongue to pleasure him.
"Gods, that feels amazing," he moaned, his hips bucking forward.
He was rough and demanding, but it was nothing you and Kari couldn't handle. You continued to suck and lick him, while she stroked him and kissed his thighs.
The two of you worked in tandem, bringing him to the edge and then pulling him back. You could feel him growing more and more frustrated, his hand gripping your hair tighter.
Finally, he could take it no longer, he grabbed Kari by the hair and pushed his cock all the way to the back of her throat. His hand pressed against the top of her head as he fucked her mouth hard.
She gagged and coughed, but still tried her best to please him. You could see her discomfort and you slowly stood up, kissing his neck and touching his chest, trying to calm him down.
After a few more moments, he released her, shoving her back. She fell back on the floor, coughing and sputtering.
He was breathing heavily, his eyes wild. Without a word, he pulled down your dress, revealing your naked form beneath. He was on you in an instant, pushing you down onto the bed and climbing on top of you, his hands on your throat.
Your head spun, and the room seemed to grow hazy as the pressure on your throat increased. He parted your legs with his knee and pressed himself inside you, groaning with pleasure as he buried his cock deep within you.
He was a wild man, taking you roughly, with no thought of your own comfort or pleasure. Grunting and growling like an animal as he claimed you. You could feel the tears pricking your eyes as his hand tightened around your throat.
"How does it feel to fuck a dragon?" he asked, his face mere inches from yours. You couldn't reply, his hand still holding your windpipe in a vice-like grip. His eyes were cold and calculating, the passion of a moment ago now gone.
You scratched at his wrists, but he just laughed, slamming into you with a savage ferocity. He was like a beast, taking you for all you were worth.
When men were rough like this, a part of you would disappear inside yourself. You would no longer feel as if it was you who were being manhandled, the parts of your body no longer connected to your mind.
You could smell his sweat, feel his hands on you, hear the low rumbles of his voice, but you were no longer here. Your body was simply an object, a vessel, and your mind had retreated somewhere far away, watching from the shadows.
Kari had composed herself enough to join the two of you on the bed. She climbed behind you, running her hands along your body. You were just lying there, allowing yourself to be used, but Kari's touch was a small comfort.
He slammed into a few more times before climbing off of you and grabbing Kari, flipping her on her stomach, pinning her down. He wasted no time entering her, thrusting in and out like an animal, the sound of slapping flesh filling the room.
You lay there, listening to the sounds of the two of them, trying to make sense of things. He didn't last long, men like this rarely did. After a few minutes, he let out a strangled groan and pulled out, his seed spilling out onto her back.
He rolled off of her, panting and laughing to himself, a satisfied grin on his face. She sat up and brushed some hair from her sweat-soaked forehead, looking over at you.
She crawled towards you and wrapped her arms around you, kissing your cheek gently. Her hand intertwining with yours. The two of you had certainly experienced worse customers than him. He didn't appear unhappy with what you did. You were fortunate in that sense.
"I shall take you both on my dragon, fuck you on his back while we fly," he said, a wicked grin on his face.
You had no idea how one would manage to do such a thing, but you were certain he was just trying to impress you.
"That would be something," Kari replied, a smile on her lips.
He was sitting there, his hand lazily stroking his cock as he watched the two of you. "Kiss," he commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.
You and Kari exchanged a look, then leaned in and kissed each other, the feeling of her soft lips against yours making your heart skip a beat.
He was watching the two of you with rapt attention, his eyes dark and hungry. He reached out and pulled you away from her, his lips crashing down onto yours. His hands roamed your body, his touch rough and demanding.
"That's a good girl," he whispered, his breath hot against your ear.
He grabbed a tankard of wine from the nightstand, drinking it down and tossing it aside. You observed the muscles on his back, the way they flexed in the dim light, you could see long scars down his back. They looked like the marks caused by a whip, you knew the scars well, having seen them on many of the men and women in the brothel.
"My Prince, forgive me, but those scars, where did they come from?" you asked, unable to contain your curiosity.
He flinched at your question, not looking at you. "Tourneys," he said sharply, bending over and grabbing his shirt from the floor.
You didn't press the issue, he clearly didn't want to talk about it.
He pulled his shirt on, the silk material stretching over his muscular frame. Then he collapsed onto the bed, pulling you down with him, wrapping his arm around you.
You looked at him and saw a haunted look in his eyes, the same look that many of the others in the brothel had. He was running from something, or someone.
"Call me your prince and tell me you love me," he whispered, his breath warm against your ear.
"Of course, my prince," you replied, and the words felt hollow.
"I love you my prince," Kari purred, cuddling up to him.
"Yes, I know you do," he said, his eyes glazing over.
The two of you stayed with the prince all night, his talk turning into ramblings, bragging about dragon riding, flying in the clouds, great battles and tourneys he had won. He talked of nothing but how good he had it, how great he is, of all the wonderful things he owned.
While it was not the worst experience you'd had, it wasn't a pleasant one either. Kari kept encouraging him to keep bragging, praising him and showering him with compliments. All you wanted was to close your eyes and drift off to sleep, but his obnoxious voice made it nearly impossible.
By the time the sun came up, he was fast asleep. His snoring so loud you were sure he was going to wake up the rest of the brothel.
You and Kari were counting the coin he had given you, making sure it was all there. It wasn't as much as you were expecting, considering his claims of royalty. But you'd make do, it'd tide you over for a while. You would certainly sleep comfortably tonight.
Although he was Prince Daemon, you didn't want to fuck him again, not for any amount of coin. If he returned to visit, you would simply make yourself scarce.
Much to your disappointment the prince had turned into a regular at the brothel. At least once a week he would return, bringing with him a small fortune and a lot of drink.
Lina was very pleased, she was the one he favored most of all. And as long as she was getting her coins, she was happy. You supposed she was too numb from drink to feel the pain or humiliation of his treatment.
You and Kari, on the other hand, were less enthusiastic about the prince's presence. Always trying your best to avoid him, finding ways to keep yourselves occupied while he was there.
But you had a feeling that he knew what the two of you were doing, and that you were avoiding him. He didn't seem upset by it, but there was a look in his eye that made you nervous.
He was in the main room tonight, with Lina in his lap, the two of them drunkenly talking about who knows what. But his eyes were on you, and it made your skin crawl.
You quickly got up and looked for a place to hide, not wanting to be caught in his sights. He was a dangerous man, you could sense it, and you had no interest in being alone with him.
You made your way through the halls, between tapestries of silk and dimly lit rooms, keeping your head down. It was almost too easy to disappear here, to find the dark corners and hide away from the world.
You weren't looking where you were going, and you found yourself crashing into someone.
"Sorry, sorry," you muttered, moving to continue walking.
You felt a hand grip your arm, and you looked up at a man dressed in dark clothing, a hood covering his face. There was an air of danger around him, the way he held himself was confident and commanding.
He looked you over, his gaze roaming over your body. From what you could see of his face, he was handsome, with a strong jawline and sharp features. His hair was blonde, resting on his shoulders.
"No need to apologize, little dove," he said, his voice deep and rich.
His hand slid down your arm, his fingers brushing against yours. "Come, let's have a drink," he whispered, his breath hot against your ear.
You nodded, grateful for any excuse to get away from the prince. You could also do with some extra coin, and this man seemed willing to pay.
He followed you to one of the private rooms, the curtains hanging around the bed were a soft blue, the room dimly lit by candles.
He gently leaned his sword against the wall, his fingers tracing over the hilt. It had an odd looking pommel, the metalwork intricate, the hilt the shape of a gold dragon.
He turned and sat on the bed, his hood falling down, revealing his face.
He was handsome, his blonde hair tumbling over his shoulders, his eyes sharp and bright. He was tall and lean, with a muscular build.
"So, what brings you to a place like this?" you asked, standing in front of him.
"Curiosity," he replied, reaching out and pulling you into his lap.
You gasped, your face inches from his. He smirked, his fingers wrapping around the silk ribbon around your waist, untying it. The thin dress fell open, revealing your chest.
"You are a pretty thing," he whispered, his eyes raking over your body.
You blushed, your heart beating faster. You were used to men commenting on your looks, but something about the way he said it made you feel warm.
"I bet you tell all the girls that," you teased, your hand reaching out and resting on his chest.
"I bet you pretend to enjoy it," he countered.
"And if I do?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
He laughed, his fingers tracing the curve of your neck.
"I'll know the difference," he said, leaning in, his breath ghosting over your lips.
"Is that so?" you whispered, a smile tugging at your lips.
He chuckled, his other hand coming up and resting on your lower back. He pulled you closer, his lips brushing against yours.
He was surprisingly gentle, his lips soft, his hands caressing your body. He kissed you like a lover, not like a man who was paying for a whore.
You melted into his touch, your hands moving up and tangling in his hair. He groaned, his fingers digging into your skin.
You knew the brothel had men of all shapes and sizes, some kinder, others rougher, but he was a different breed altogether. You were enjoying yourself in a way you never had before.
"See? You're not pretending,"he whispered against your lips.
You laughed softly, your eyes fluttering open, looking into his. He was staring at you with such intensity, it made your heart skip a beat.
He smiled at you, his hand cupping your cheek, his thumb stroking your skin. You could feel the warmth of his body, the strength of his arms around you.
"What kind of men do you usually entertain?" he asked, his lips moving to your neck.
"All kinds," you replied, letting him undress you, the silk pooling at your waist. "From beggars to princes," you said.
"Princes, hmm? I suppose a prince would have more coin than most," he said, gently cupping your breasts, his thumbs grazing over your nipples.
"Some," you replied, trying to keep your breathing steady. “The prince does come here often. Although he is not the most agreeable of men," you explained.
"You know a lot about the prince?" he asked, his lips grazing against the shell of your ear.
"Indeed, he told me he would show me his dragon," you said, smiling, tracing your finger down his chest, playing with the hem of his shirt. "Caraxes, is it's name," you added, taking hold of his shirt and pulling it off.
"Oh? That's an interesting promise," he replied, his lips pressing kisses along your shoulder, his teeth nipping at the soft skin.
"He said I could ride it too," you said, feeling his lips curve into a smile against your skin.
"I'm sure you would be more than capable," he breathed, his nose brushing over the curve of your neck. "Perhaps you can practice on me," he murmured.
You giggled, a warmth blooming between your legs. He was handsome and charming, his touch gentle, he knew what he was doing. His hands moved over your skin, leaving a trail of heat wherever they went.
You shifted on his lap, feeling his arousal pressing against you. "Is that so?" you asked, your lips ghosting over his.
"Mmm," he groaned, his eyes darkening, his lips claiming yours.
His hand cupped the back of your neck, holding you close. You could taste the sweetness of the wine on his tongue, his kiss full of passion and desire. Your hands went to his breeches, unlacing them and pulling out his cock.
You stroked him, feeling the velvety skin beneath your fingers. He groaned, his lips breaking away from yours.
"If I were to ride you, I'm not sure I would be able to walk away afterwards," you whispered, looking down at him.
"Maybe that's my plan," he said, as his hand slipped between your legs.
You gasped, the pleasure rippling through your body. You had a feeling this was going to be the best coin you had ever earned. It was always a nice treat when you could be with a man that you actually enjoyed touching.
"You're bigger than most of the other men I've had," you purred, running your hand up and down his length.
"I bet you say that to all the men," he teased, his fingers dipping into your cunt, feeling the wetness there.
"I'll say whatever you want me to," you said, kissing his neck, his jawline.
"Such a sweet little liar," he said, his hand cupping your cheek, tilting your head up.
You looked at him, your eyes meeting his. They were a deep blue, almost purple. There was a gentleness to them, but also a fire.
"Am I bigger than the prince?" he asked, a playful smirk on his lips.
"Would it be treason to say yes?" you whispered, your teeth grazing his earlobe.
"I won't tell him," he said, his lips capturing yours in a searing kiss.
You smiled into the kiss and slowly rocked your hips, rubbing your slit against the underside of his cock. He groaned, his hands gripping your waist, his thumbs brushing over your hip bones.
You pulled away from the kiss, sitting up slightly and lining his cock up with your pussy. You sank down onto him, keeping your eyes locked with his.
You began to ride him, slowly at first, then you increased the pace. He let out a low groan and his hands squeezed your ass, helping you bounce on his cock.
You leaned down, capturing his lips in another passionate kiss. Your hands gripped his shoulders, your nails digging into his skin.
You pulled away from the kiss and rested your forehead against his.
"Fuck," he hissed, his fingers digging into your thighs.
You let out a breathless laugh and began to ride him faster, grinding down onto his cock. You could feel his length pulsing inside of you, his breath hot against your neck.
He suddenly flipped you into your back, your hair splayed out across the pillows. He grabbed your thighs and pushed your legs back, sinking his cock inside you once more.
You moaned, feeling him pound into you. He leaned down and captured your lips in another kiss, his tongue invading your mouth. Your hands went to his arms, they were made of pure muscle, the corded veins bulging under his pale skin.
His hips started to falter, a sure sign he was close to his release. He buried his face in the crook of your neck as he let out a low and desperate groan. You could feel his cock throb as his seed filled you.
"I can see why the prince likes you," he said, a small smile on his face as he rolled off of you.
You chuckled, moving to cuddle up next to him.
"Oh? What makes you say that?" you asked, nuzzling into his chest.
"The way you fuck," he said, his lips curling up into a smirk. "It's truly fit for royalty,"
You giggled and buried your face into his chest, the smell of his sweat mixed with sex intoxicating.
"You are a far better lover than him, perhaps living up in a castle all his life has spoiled him," you said, tracing patterns on his chest.
He smiled, his arm wrapping around your waist, his thumb rubbing circles over your skin.
"I don't even know your name," you whispered, your hand reaching up and stroking his cheek.
"It doesn't matter now, does it?" he asked, his voice low and soft.
You watched him, wondering why a man would pay for a whore when he could easily get a woman willing. But then again, you knew the type of men who came to a place like this, perhaps he was married, or didn't have time for courtship.
He sat up and poured himself a cup of wine, the dark liquid spilling into the glass. He took a sip, then handed it to you.
"Thank you," you said, sitting up and taking a drink, the taste of wine sweet on your lips.
He leaned in and kissed you passionately. You hummed softly and cupped his cheek, his stubble scratching your palm.
He moved off the bed and grabbed his shirt, pulling it over his head. He picked up his sword, strapping the sheath to his belt.
You laid back, propping yourself up by your elbows as you watched him dress. He looked at you, a smirk on his face.
"You look lovely like that," he said, his voice a low purr.
You nodded in thanks, giving him a gentle smile and watched him pull out his coin purse.
"Keep the change," he said, tossing the bag onto the bed.
"Thank you, ser," you said, watching him walk out the door.
"Ser," he chuckled. "I am no ser," he said, looking back at you one last time before shutting the door.
The following evening was a busy one, you had spent most of the night serving drinks, the men rowdy and full of ale.
The drunker they got, the more coin they would spend, but that also came with its risks. Some of the men would become violent, the women in the brothel would often have bruises, sometimes it would be a black eye or busted lip.
You had gotten good at handling the rowdy customers, a few sweet words and a soft touch was enough to keep most men docile.
You hadn't seen Lina since yesterday, which was odd, usually she was down here, drinking and entertaining the men.
"Have you seen Lina?" You asked Kari, who was collecting a number of empty tankards.
"She's probably passed out in some room, drunker than a sailor," Kari replied, shaking her head.
You frowned, that didn't seem right. Lina had a habit of drinking, but never enough to not show up for work.
Kari could see the concern on your face and placed her hand on your shoulder, squeezing gently.
"Don't worry about her, she'll be fine," she said, giving you a reassuring smile.
"What if Prince Daemon comes in? I do not wish to deal with him," you whispered.
"Then don't," she said, pouring herself a glass of wine.
"I cannot refuse him, he would make my life a living hell," you sighed.
"Then you best stay out of his way," Kari said, patting your shoulder.
You nodded, but knew that was easier said than done. If he showed up tonight, you were sure to run into him.
You continued to serve drinks, doing your best to avoid the more aggressive customers. You felt a hand grip your wrist, and turned to see one of the regulars.
"Come sit on my lap pretty girl," the man said, tugging on your wrist.
You smiled sweetly and sat down on his lap, resting your arm on his shoulder.
"How have you been, my love?" you asked, batting your lashes.
"Better now that you're here," he said, his hand resting on your knee, his fingers rubbing circles on the inside of your thigh.
"That's sweet," you said, trying not to flinch at his touch.
You leaned in and whispered into his ear, "What can I do for you tonight?"
He smirked, his hand sliding further up your thigh, he looked over your shoulder and paused. His eyes were fixed on something behind you, his expression one of shock and disgust.
You turned to see Lina stumbling through the main room, her hair a mess, her clothes torn, blood trickling down from a wound on her head.
She was muttering incoherently, her eyes wild and unfocused. She stopped in the middle of the room, looking around, a terrified expression on her face.
"Lina?" You immediately got off the man's lap and rushed to her side, placing your hand on her shoulder.
She screamed, slapping your hand away and staggering back. Her eyes were wide, her breathing heavy, she was looking at you as if you were a stranger.
"Lina, it's me," you said, trying to calm her.
She shook her head, backing away, her eyes darting around the room.
"You're alright," you said, stepping towards her.
She raised her hands in front of her, as if trying to shield herself from something. You could see the bruises on her wrists and her hands were trembling.
You reached out to her, but she flinched, moving away from you. She backed into a table, knocking over a tray of drinks.
The noise drew the attention of the patrons, everyone was staring at her, murmuring to each other.
You grabbed her arm, gently leading her to the stairs. She let you lead her, her body tense, her breathing rapid.
You opened the door to her room and led her inside. You could see the dried blood and cum on her thighs, and the tears in her clothes.
"What happened to you, Lina?" you asked, but she remained silent, her gaze fixed on the floor.
You went to the washbasin and dampened a cloth, sitting next to her on the bed. You began to clean the dried blood from her face, gently wiping the cloth over her bruised skin.
"You are safe now," you said, trying to soothe her.
"It was him," she suddenly said, her voice quiet and strained.
"Him who?" you asked, dipping the cloth back into the water, the blood turning it pink.
"Prince Daemon," she said, her voice cracking.
Your eyes widened, the cloth slipping from your fingers and landing in the basin with a wet splash.
"Daemon did this to you?" you asked, a pit of anger forming in your stomach.
Lina nodded, tears streaming down her face, her body shaking. "You mustn't tell anyone, he will kill me," she cried.
"Lina, I...," you trailed off, unsure of what to say.
You wrapped your arms around her and held her close, letting her cry into your shoulder.
"I'm sorry," you said, your voice breaking.
She pulled away, her eyes red and puffy, her lips quivering.
You felt your chest tighten, a wave of rage and despair washing over you. Daemon was a vile, evil man, and the fact that he had hurt Lina, filled you with an overwhelming anger.
You clenched your fists, feeling your nails dig into your palms, a stinging pain spreading over your skin.
"I... I lost all my coin...He took it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
You wondered why a prince would bother stealing coins from a common whore, surely he had enough coin of his own.
"You can have whatever I earn tonight," you said, your tone serious.
"You don't have to do that," she said, shaking her head.
"Of course I do, you would do it for me," you said, gently cupping her cheek.
She nodded, her eyes glistening with fresh tears.
"Stay here, get some rest," you said, helping her lay down.
She pulled the blanket up to her chin, curling up into a ball, her body still trembling. You left the room, closing the door quietly behind you.
You walked back down to the main room, a burning rage coursing through your veins. You spotted Daemon, sitting at a table, drinking wine and laughing with a group of men.
You wanted to confront him, to pour hot tar over his head and watch him scream and writhe in pain. You looked around the room for a weapon, anything you could use to inflict harm upon him.
Your eyes landed on a serving tray, you picked it up, the metal cool against your palm. You were about to do something rash, something you couldn't come back from, when the man from last night caught your attention.
He was sitting at a table by himself, nursing a drink. He was wearing the same leathers as last night, and his sword was strapped to his hip.
He looked up, as if he could feel your gaze on him, and gave you a small smile. He gestured for you to come over.
You placed the tray back on the table, and walked over to him. You needed the coin for Lina, and he felt nice and smelled good, it would be a pleasant distraction.
"Back so soon?" you asked, swallowing your rage and fear, turning it to soft words and flirty touches.
You sat down on his lap, wrapping your arm around his shoulders, kissing his cheek and smiling sweetly.
"I missed you," he said, his hand going to your waist.
"Liar," you whispered, a playful smirk on your lips.
He laughed, the sound deep and rich, his eyes twinkling with amusement. He looked around the room then back to you, his gaze roaming over your body.
"Shall we?" he asked, his voice a low rumble.
"Yes," you replied, sliding off his lap and taking his hand.
He followed you to the stairs, his hand on the small of your back. You glanced over your shoulder at Daemon, a scowl on your face as you walked away from the opportunity to harm him.
You quickly led the man to your room, shutting the door and leaning against it, letting out a sigh.
"Are you alright?" He asked, setting his sword down and untying his shirt.
"Fine," you said, watching him undress.
His chest was pale and well muscled, his body lean and strong. He looked up at you, a playful smirk on his lips.
"Lying once again," he said, unbuckling his belt.
"My friend was attacked," you said, walking over to him, running your hands over his bare chest.
"I am sorry to hear that," he said, his gaze focused on you, his hands reaching up to cup your face.
"She was beaten and raped by Prince Daemon," you said, leaning into his touch, his calloused palms rough against your cheeks.
He stiffened at that, but just for a moment, before untying your dress and letting it pool at your feet.
"You shouldn't say things like that," he said, his hands gripping your ass and pulling you closer.
"Why? It's the truth," You replied, wrapping your arms around his neck, pressing your naked body against his.
"It can get you killed," he said, his voice low and his breath hot against your ear.
You shivered, his words sending a chill down your spine. "I do not care, he deserves to die," you hissed, nipping at his bottom lip.
He smiled and lifted you up, carrying you to the bed and laying you down. His lips were soft against yours, his tongue exploring your mouth.
"Tell me, do you always have such violent thoughts?" He asked, his hands roaming over your body.
He gripped your hips and pulled you underneath him, his erection pressed against your pussy.
"When men like him exist? Yes," you replied, moaning softly as he ground his hips against yours.
"And what would you do, if you had the power?" He asked, his fingers ghosting over your clit, making you moan.
"I would cut him open, and feed him his own guts," you replied, arching your back, a jolt of pleasure shooting through you. "Or perhaps burn him alive," you added, a dark smile spreading across your lips.
He chuckled, a wicked grin on his face, his eyes flashing with desire.
"And what of me? What would you do to me?" He asked, his fingers slipping inside of you, moving slowly, his thumb circling your clit.
You kissed him, hard and fierce, nipping at his lip, a small bead of blood forming. You could taste it, sweet and coppery, the smell of iron filling your nose. He chuckled at your roughness, his fingers moving faster.
"You've not wronged me, yet," you moaned against his lips, your hands going to his cock, the speed of your strokes matching his.
"Yet?" He chuckled, a low and seductive sound.
"There is time," you teased, pushing him off you and onto his back.
You straddled him, lowering yourself onto his cock, moaning as you felt him stretch you. He gripped your hips, guiding you as you began to ride him, his eyes watching you intently.
You arched your back, rolling your hips, grinding against him, your hands on his chest. You could feel him hitting that spot inside of you, making you moan and pant.
He sat up, his hands gripping your ass, his lips finding yours, a soft and passionate kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck, holding him close, his warmth enveloping you.
"Harder," you pleaded, a soft whimper escaping your lips.
He obliged, his grip tightening, his hips thrusting harder, deeper, filling you completely. You buried your face in his neck, muffling your cries of pleasure, your body tensing as you came.
He grunted, his cock throbbing inside of you, his hot seed spilling into you. You held each other close, panting and sweating, the room silent save for your labored breaths.
He captured your lips, a soft and gentle kiss, his fingers stroking your cheek. You pulled away, resting your forehead against his, a contented sigh escaping your lips.
"Is he here now? This prince," he asked, a bitter inflection to his tone.
"Yes," you replied, running your hands through his hair.
"Will you point him out to me?" He asked, his grip on your hips tightening.
You looked at him, a curious expression on your face. "Why?"
"Just curious," he replied, his fingers tracing circles on your lower back.
You looked into his eyes, a strange fire had crept into his gaze. You could feel a change in the air, the tension thick and heavy, the room seeming to grow darker.
"Okay," you said softly, a hint of trepidation in your voice.
"Good," he said, a sly smile spreading across his lips.
He helped you off his lap, standing and gathering his clothes, pulling his trousers and shirt back on.
You watched him, the way his muscles moved beneath his skin, his eyes focused and determined. He seemed to be lost in thought, his gaze distant, as if he was planning something.
"Who are you?" You asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
He didn't respond, just held out his hand for you. You took it, and let him help you off the bed, your fingers intertwined.
You descended the stairs, the tavern full and bustling, the air thick with the scent of sweat and ale. You led him towards the corner where the prince was, his table surrounded by a group of men.
"Them," you said, pointing to the prince and his entourage.
He nodded, and pulled you close, kissing your cheek and placing a large bag of crowns in your hand.
"For you and your friend," he whispered, before releasing you and disappearing into the crowd.
You stared after him, confused and intrigued. You didn't know what was going on, or what he was planning, but you couldn't help but feel a strange sense of excitement.
You went over to Kari who was in the lap of the regular from earlier, her hands wandering over his broad chest.
"Where did you go?" She asked, glancing at you, a questioning look in her eyes.
"Upstairs, with the man from last night," you replied, showing her the coins.
She grinned, her eyes wide. "Look at you, making the big coin," she said, a mischievous glint in her eye.
Suddenly there was a loud crash, the sound of breaking glass. You turned to see the prince on the ground, his table overturned, a shattered bottle of wine next to him. The men he was with nowhere to be seen.
A number of gold cloaks had come storming in, and were surrounding the table, their swords drawn.
You watched the man you had just been with appear behind them, making his way through the gold cloaks, they parted for him without question.
The prince looked up at him, his eyes wide with fear, his body trembling.
"What are you doing? I'm the prince! Prince Daemon Targaryen!" He stammered, trying to back away.
The man laughed, and looked around at the gold cloaks, who were smiling and laughing with him.
"Funny," he said, looking down at the prince. "I could have sworn that was me."
The man who claimed to be the prince looked horrified, his eyes wide with shock.
"That's right, your grace," the man said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You've been caught," he continued, the smirk turning into a sadistic grin.
You watched in horror and amazement as the pretender prince tried to scramble away, only to be stopped by a sword being plunged into his stomach.
He let out a gurgled cry, his blood spraying out onto the floor, a look of pure terror on his face. You and Kari screamed and looked away, covering your mouths in shock.
There was a horrible, visceral wet sound as the real prince Daemon cut open the pretender's stomach, and pulled out his innards, feeding them to him.
The room was silent, save for the sound of the dying pretender, gagging and wailing, his blood pooling around him.
"Let this be a lesson to all those who would dare to impersonate a prince of the realm," Daemon said, his voice booming across the tavern. "All pretenders shall meet the same fate."
The pretender had fallen silent, his body lying in a pool of his own blood and guts. Daemon wiped his hands and sword on the pretender's clothes, and turned to the gold cloaks.
"Clean this up, and dispose of the body," he said, his tone commanding.
The gold cloaks bowed, and began to drag the pretender's body from the tavern. The real prince looked around the room, his eyes landing on you.
You immediately looked to the floor, bowing before him, your heart pounding. You couldn't believe what had just happened, that the prince was a pretender and that the real Daemon had just been in your bed.
He walked over to you, and you kept your gaze down, not daring to look at him. You felt his hand under your chin, tilting your head up, forcing you to meet his gaze.
"I'll be sure to burn him too," he said, a small smile on his lips.
You could only nod, your voice caught in your throat. He smiled and released you, turning and walking away.
Everyone was in a state of shocked silence, people staring in awe and disbelief. Kari looked at you, her eyes wide and her face pale.
"What just happened?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I... I don't know," you replied, your own voice shaking.
It was a lesson, one you never forgot. That even among whores, the truth would always find its way to the surface. And for that, there was no mercy.

☕💖 Can I Get Your Number? ☕💖 Ch 1
Jason Todd x Chubby! Reader (fem) A/N: I don't know what I'm doing here, I'm not even much of a DC fan, but Jason Todd has quickly become my latest hyper fixation character (Harley Quinn too, do I just have a thing for Joker victims???) so ... thank you for giving me a place to put this energy I guess! 😂 I'm not super confident on the characterizations, but I'm going with it because I like it. If it's wildly ooc ... that tracks, given that the only DC comic I've read is Batman: Wayne Family Adventures. Read it, or don't, I just needed to get the thoughts out of my head. The art doesn't belong to me, but the writing does. Please do not post elsewhere!
written with a female reader in mind, first person pov, no use of Y/N, starting out fluffy, will probably get NSFW later so minors DNI, let me know if there's anything else I should tag this with!

In a city known for its masked fighters, you learn pretty quickly that everyone and everything is a potential threat. Every approaching stranger on the street, every loud sound behind you, every dark alleyway. Being bigger than me certainly isn't a prerequisite to being a danger, but it does have a way of setting off my mental alarms. I've found that big men are used to getting their way, and they get all sorts of bent out of shape if you deny them their wishes. Especially when they think they're doing you a favor.
It died down a bit after high school; I learned to exist in public with ‘fuck off’ stamped across my face. Headphones on, reading a book, intentionally seated at the table furthest from the other cafe patrons. All the typical signs of someone who wants to be left alone; nothing about me said ‘please come talk to me'. So I was understandably on edge when I noticed someone standing by the chair across from me. I look up just a bit, gesturing to the chair with a nod. Silent consent to take it back to his table and leave me to my book.
No such luck. The man simply smiled and mimed taking headphones off. Putting a bored look on my face, I moved one off my ear. “... Hm?”
“Hi! I'm sorry to bother you, but my brother thinks you're really beautiful and is refusing to come tell you himself.”
I could feel my expression turning to stone. “... What is this, middle school?”
His cheerful grin faltered ever so slightly; “hey, I know it's a bit silly, but he's awkward around cute girls, so what's a brother to do, ya know?”
I stared him down; “... You're not fooling anyone. Move on.”
“... Sorry, ‘fooling anyone’?”
“Its not funny, it’s not even hurtful the 20th time, it's just annoying. Go. Away.” It was a lie; it was always painful to be on the receiving end of these pranks. But that was what these guys wanted, so I wasn't going to tell him that. My headphones back in place, the guy slunk away.
Ten minutes later, another person was standing by the chair. I pretended not to see him, continuing to read my book, until he plopped down in the seat. I looked up slowly and he smiled, another oddly warm smile, leaning forward on his elbows.
An incredibly put-out sigh later, I slid the headphones off one ear again. “What?”
“Hi, I'm Tim! I'm not sure what exactly my brother said to you, but I wanted to let you know - we're not trying to prank you or something. Our brother is just way too awkward with girls. It's painful to watch, really, so we figured we'd give him a hand.” He spoke much too fast for me to get a word in. I blinked a bit, raising an eyebrow.
“... You frat boys are really committing to the bit these days, huh?”
“Huh? No, really, I promise!”
My headphones were nearly back into place when a child showed up. His impatient expression matched how I felt about the whole situation. “As usual, Drake, your plans are far too convoluted to be effective. Watch and learn.”
He turned to me, nothing about his demeanor changing; “hello. Todd said we shouldn't bother you because you ‘clearly want to be alone’, but I am convinced the only way to stop their nonsense is if he comes over. May he have a moment of your time?”
Frowning a little, I stared at the kid. He stared right back, neither of us blinking for a solid minute as we sussed each other out. His expression barely changed, but the boredom in his eyes turned into determination. “... Well, you're definitely not a frat boy. So I'll make you a deal; you may report back that he has permission to come say hi. If he doesn't choose to, that's the end of this little charade. And if either of them” I gestured to the one sitting at my table; “comes back over here, I start stabbing. Got it?”
The boy nodded once, and I thought I saw a ghost of a smirk. “You have my word.” He dragged the other man out of the chair by his shirt, pulling him stumbling toward their table. That was when I saw him. The only person at their table who hadn't come over yet. Even hunched over the table he was enormous, probably close to six feet tall; exactly the kind of man I typically avoided. The kid spoke sharply, pointing in my direction, and his head shot up to look in my direction. Even from across the spacious patio, I could see his face turning red. The obnoxious, cocky smirk I was expecting to see was entirely missing; instead he seemed almost confused.
Headphones back on but turned off so I could hear if he approached, I returned to my book. But I only got through a few pages before the first one shouted; “and offer to get her another coffee or something!”
I looked over to see the tall one frozen halfway between our tables, a look on his face like he was considering jumping over the patio fence to get away. His demeanor reminded me of a lost puppy, and I couldn't help the chuckle that rose up out of my throat. I bookmarked my page, set the book aside, and slid my headphones down around my neck. I really thought he was about to bolt until I lifted one hand, curling my fingers to gesture for him to continue toward me.
He stopped short by a good several feet, eyeing the distance between himself and the chair, and took one extra step back. It seemed as if he was hyper aware of just how much he loomed over me; the way he stood was like he was trying to will himself to be smaller, and he kept his hands at his sides. “Um … hi. … Sorry, this is … this is really weird …”
I nodded, watching him. “It is a bit. … Todd, was it?”
“Jay… Jason.”
“Not Todd?”
“Jason Todd. Damian calls me Todd, he thinks using people's last names keeps them at an arm's length…” Jason Todd. The name felt familiar, but I couldn't place why. He continued to ramble about how important tone was in determining whether this Damian kid was referring to you with affection or disdain, and I watched him. He was admittedly very cute; he had a sort of a bad boy aesthetic -leather jacket, dark clothes, a white streak in his hair, some unusual scars on his face and arms-, which juxtaposed interestingly with the gentleness in his voice, bright eyes, and awkward mannerisms. That was actually the thing that made the most sense about this situation; bikers are often secret teddy bears.
“... Jason?”
He looked up at me, one hand sheepishly making its way into his hair. “Yeah, sorry, you want me to go. I'll get them to stop harassing you, so sorry-”
“Actually, I was going to say you don't have to stand the whole time.” I gestured to the chair across from me.
He hesitated, watching me. “... Y- you don't want me to go?”
I smiled softly and shook my head. “Sit?”
He quickly obeyed, a hesitant smile on his face, which was almost immediately hidden by his hand when his brothers whooped from their table. “... God, I'm so sorry … th- they mean well, really, they're not trying to be weird …”
I laughed softly, “it's fine, that's what siblings do, right?”
“... I guess so … I've been sort of … away for a while, but I guess this is pretty standard sibling behavior. … Right?”
“I mean, a little more insistent than mine, but not too far outside the realm of what I’d consider normal.” I shrugged, finishing my chai latte.
He smiled slightly, considering that. “... Hm … um … c- can I get you another?” He gestured to my cup.
“... Sure, I've got time.”
The pleased grin on his face as he looked away to flag down a server surprised me. Then again, everything about him was surprising. Still, no one had ever looked at me quite like that before…
The server sauntered over, clearly curious about my new companion. Jason smiled brightly; “Hi, can we get another for the lady? And I'll have a medium black coffee, sweet, please.”
Huh. He called me a ‘lady’. Not a girl, or a chick, a lady. That was … also surprising. We chatted for a little while, sipping our coffees, and tried to ignore his staring brothers. He was incredibly awkward, in a sweet, endearing way. I got the impression that he wasn't fully comfortable, but chalked it up to how weirdly this all started. After a while, the first one returned, a small grimace on his face.
I raised an eyebrow; “I'm pretty sure I told the little one that the next one of you to come over was getting stabbed.”
“I know, I know! I'm so sorry, but Jay, we gotta go. Bruce texted…”
That was when it clicked; why I knew the name Jason Todd. He was a Wayne … his death had dominated the news cycle for a week. His miraculous, frankly poorly explained, return was the story for at least two.
He looked, torn, between me and his brother. “Oh … um …”
The man I finally recognized as Dick Grayson leaned forward and fake-whispered, “the words you're looking for are ‘can I have your phone number'?”
Jason swatted him away, blushing bright red; “Seriously, Dick? … well, can I-”
His ears were turning red as I held my hand out for his phone. I added my contact info and, feeling unusually bold, I added ☕💖 after my name while Jason dropped a couple of bills on the table; I smiled a bit, realizing he was leaving enough to cover my first drink for me too. I passed his phone back, enjoying the look of wonder on his face when he checked the screen. The way he whispered my name, like a prayer meant only for god's ears, had my stomach doing backflips.
“thanks … I'll call you?”
“Sounds good. I'm a night owl, so not too early, yeah?”
He nodded eagerly. “Not too early, promise.”

Enough for You: Part 2
SUMMARY: After deciding you need time away, you ask Tyler for some space to process everything. During your absence, Tyler finds himself constantly thinking about you, realizing how much he misses your presence and what you mean to him. Each gift carries a subtle message, his way of reminding you of his feelings without overstepping. Finally, unable to stay away any longer, Tyler shows up at your door, ready to talk and confront the growing emotions between you both.
WARNINGS: More Angst. (with a little fluff)
WORD COUNT: 5.2k
OTHER PARTS: PART 1
NOTE: There will be a PART 3! I have it mostly written and just need to finish editing it. Part 2 got away from me so I decided to break it up as to not have one crazy long fic.
TAG LIST: @omgbrianab I @shanimallina87 I @callsign-diva I @starshinegrl I @willowpains I @beltzboys2015-blog
The team gathered around the RV, tension simmering beneath the surface. Things hadn't been the same since Kate joined, and you could feel the shift in every quiet conversation, every glance that Tyler cast in her direction. After the last storm chase, when Tyler sat next to you and apologized for breaking your heart, you knew it was time to make a decision. You couldn’t stay—not with the constant reminders of everything you wished for but couldn’t have.
After a sleepless night, you made your decision. You requested a leave of absence from the team—just two weeks to get your mind straight, to figure out if you could stay and watch Tyler build a life with someone else. When you approached Tyler, he looked at you with a mix of regret and reluctance, clearly not wanting you to go but knowing he had no right to stop you.
“I need time,” you said softly, your voice steady but your heart anything but. “I just…I need to clear my head, and figure out what’s next for me.”
Tyler's eyes searched yours, his jaw tightening as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t find the words. “If that’s what you need,” he said quietly, “I won’t stop you. But…I’m gonna miss you around here.”
You nodded, knowing he meant it, but it wasn’t enough. He wasn’t enough, not when he had already chosen someone else. “I’ll be back in two weeks,” you told him, and without waiting for a response, you turned and walked away, feeling the weight of his gaze on your back.
Tyler stepped into the familiar café, the warm smell of espresso and freshly baked pastries hitting him as he waited in line. He pulled out his phone, scrolling absently through messages and notifications, his mind elsewhere. You’d been gone for three days now—three long, silent days. The truck was quieter without your voice, without your little side comments or the music you always played to keep everyone’s spirits up during long chases.
Dexter had grabbed his coffee the first morning you were gone. He hadn’t even noticed at first—it wasn’t quite right, but he’d brushed it off. Just a small thing, nothing major. Today, though, as he stood in line, he realized he didn’t even know what he wanted. You always got his order just right without him even having to ask.
The barista behind the counter smiled at him, her pen poised over the notepad. “What can I get for you?”
Tyler opened his mouth, then paused. Was it a double shot of espresso or a single? Did he like anything else added to it? God, how had he never paid attention to this before?
“Uh…” he hesitated, trying to piece it together. “Just a regular coffee, I guess. With…sugar?”
The barista gave him a polite nod, but he could tell she was already moving on, another nameless face in the line of customers. He sighed as he handed her his card, feeling oddly unsettled by the whole interaction. Black coffee wasn’t right—he knew that much. He’d drink it, but it wouldn’t be what he actually wanted. Just another thing that wasn’t right anymore.
As he took the cup and left the café, he couldn’t shake the nagging feeling. It wasn’t the coffee that was bothering him. It was the fact that you weren’t there to get it right for him, to know the little things he hadn’t even realized mattered. It hit him, harder than he expected. He’d taken you for granted—your presence, your attention to detail, the way you just knew him in ways no one else ever did. And now, with you gone, he felt the emptiness in every small part of his day.
Tyler climbed back into his truck, setting the coffee in the cup holder without touching it. He sat there for a moment, staring at it, the silence around him feeling heavier than it ever had before. You weren’t there, and for the first time, he was starting to realize how much it bothered him.
The truck rumbled down the highway, the storm clouds gathering on the horizon. Boone was riding shotgun, his hand casually scrolling through his phone as he played DJ for the drive. Tyler had barely noticed at first, too focused on the darkening sky ahead, but as the third song in a row played, something nagged at him.
It wasn’t that Boone had bad taste in music—he didn’t. It was just that none of these songs hit quite right. The rhythm was off, the mood wasn’t there, and Tyler felt an uncomfortable itch in the back of his mind, like something was missing.
The music was background noise, sure, but when you were the one picking the playlist, it had never felt like just noise. Somehow, you always knew exactly what to play. Whether it was an old classic rock song he loved or something new that perfectly matched the mood, every song you chose seemed to be one of his favorites. It was uncanny, really, how well you knew him.
Boone scrolled through another song, switching it halfway through. Tyler’s fingers tightened on the steering wheel, the silence between songs suddenly feeling heavier.
“Everything good, man?” Boone asked, glancing over at him.
“Yeah,” Tyler muttered, though he wasn’t sure he believed it himself. He didn’t say anything, but inside, his thoughts were racing. How had he never noticed before? All those times you were riding beside him, picking the perfect song, knowing his favorite tracks better than anyone else… It was like you could read his mind. Or maybe it was something else—something deeper.
Boone finally settled on another song, some alt-rock tune Tyler didn’t recognize, and the sound filled the cab again. But it didn’t feel right. None of it did. The whole drive felt off without you there beside him, smiling softly as you hummed along to the music, your eyes flicking over to him when a particularly good song came on.
Tyler’s chest tightened. You’d always been there, quietly in tune with him, noticing things no one else did. It was in the way you picked the songs, the way you knew when he needed silence, or when to play something loud to get his energy up before a storm. It was in the little things, all the details he hadn’t appreciated before.
How had he been so blind?
He thought about you now, at home, away from the team, from him. He thought about all those moments—so many little things that added up to something big, something he hadn’t let himself see. The music was just one piece of it, but now that he was noticing, he couldn’t stop. The playlist had always been yours, just like so many other parts of his life.
Boone’s voice pulled him from his thoughts. “You good with this song?”
Tyler blinked, shaking his head slightly. “Yeah,” he said, though the truth was, no, he wasn’t. Not at all.
He missed you. And for the first time in a while, he wasn’t sure what to do.
Tyler's hand hovered over his phone, thumb tracing the edge of the screen as the truck rumbled beneath him. They were pulling off to the side of the road, another quick pit stop before the storm hit. The others were already filing out of the truck, stretching and talking about what was ahead as they made their way into the gas station for drinks and snacks. But Tyler’s mind wasn’t on the storm, or the chase, or even the team. It was on you.
He should call. He needed to call. He could feel the weight of your absence settling deeper with every passing mile, every quiet moment that used to be filled by your voice or your laugh. The last few days had been hell without you. Coffee tasted wrong, the music sounded off, and for the life of him, he couldn’t shake the hollow feeling in his chest.
His finger hovered over your name in his contacts, but then it hit him, hard, like a punch straight to the gut: those words you said to him before you left. “I just want to go back to before. Before I met you. Before I let myself believe that there was a chance.”
He closed his eyes, the memory slamming into him with full force. The look on your face, the tremble in your voice—God, how had he let it get to that point? How had he been so blind, so caught up in everything else that he never noticed the way you felt, the way you saw him? All those moments, all those signs, and he missed every single one of them.
The phone slipped from his hand and landed on the seat beside him with a dull thud. His chest tightened, shame twisting deep in his gut. You’d believed there was a chance. And he’d taken that hope and crushed it. He’d hurt you, someone who’d always been there for him, always knew what he needed before he even asked. You’d been everything. And all he did was break you. And he hadn’t been able to see it until now.
Tyler’s jaw clenched as he stared down at his phone. He could call you, tell you he missed you. He could apologize, say all the things he should have said before. But would it even matter? You were done with him. He could still hear it in your voice when you walked away—how tired you sounded. How heartbroken. He’d made you feel like you weren’t enough, and the truth was, you were more than enough. You’d always been more than enough.
He was the one who didn’t deserve you. He was the one who wasn’t enough for you.
His hand curled into a fist, the phone still lying untouched beside him. He’d been blind, selfish, wrapped up in his own world while you quietly slipped through his fingers. The thought of you never answering his call, of you moving on without him, stung like hell. But why would you answer? After everything he’d done—or failed to do—why would you want anything to do with him?
He let out a breath, heavy and shaky, feeling the full weight of his regret pressing down on him. He didn’t deserve you. Not after what he’d done. Not after how blind he’d been to how much you’d cared.
Later that night, Tyler sat on the edge of his bed, the quiet of his room pressing in on him. The team had settled in at the small motel, the storm still hours away from reaching them. Normally, nights like these were his favorite—calm before the chaos, time to relax before the adrenaline kicked in. But tonight, there was no calm. Just the heavy weight of everything he’d been trying to ignore since you left.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, tugging open his duffel bag to pull out a pair of sweatpants. But as he reached for them, his hand brushed against something solid at the bottom of the bag. Frowning, he pushed aside his clothes until his fingers closed around a book—a book he hadn’t touched in weeks.
He stared down at the cover, his heart giving a sharp twist. The Self-Help Guide to Letting Go of the Past. He had forgotten all about it, shoved in the bottom of his bag after he’d lent it to you. You’d asked for it just last week, something about being curious, but at the time, it hadn’t made much sense to him. You’d never been into these kinds of books before.
Tyler’s thumb traced the worn edges of the cover as the memory of that conversation came rushing back. You’d caught him in the middle of a busy day, the two of you sitting in the RV while the rest of the team was setting up for the next chase. You’d looked almost nervous when you asked if you could borrow it, your voice light, like you were trying to keep things casual. He hadn’t thought much of it then, just handed it over without a second thought, teasing you a little about branching out into self-help.
But now, it hit him all at once. You hadn’t wanted the book. You hadn’t been interested in the advice it had to offer. You’d been looking for something—anything—to connect with him, to spark a conversation, to get his attention. It was just another one of those small things you did that he never took the time to understand.
His chest tightened painfully as he stared at the book, the realization settling over him like a weight he couldn’t shake. You’d been trying to reach out, to bridge the gap between you two, even when he was too blind to notice. And now you were gone. You’d given up, walked away, and he couldn’t blame you. How could he, when he’d been so clueless?
His breath came out in a heavy exhale as he tossed the book onto the bed, running a hand down his face. How could he have been so stupid? How could he have missed all these little moments that showed just how much you cared? The music, the coffee, the book—none of it had seemed like much at the time. But now, with you gone, they all felt like pieces of a puzzle that he hadn’t bothered to put together until it was too late.
He leaned back against the headboard, his gaze fixed on the book lying open beside him. He thought about calling you again, his phone sitting within reach on the nightstand, but the same thoughts stopped him cold. You wouldn’t answer. Why would you? You were done trying to make things work with him. And after everything, he couldn’t blame you for that either.
Tyler’s hand curled into a fist, his frustration building. He wanted to fix this, wanted to make things right, but how could he, when he’d already let you down so badly? He’d missed his chance, and the thought of that—of losing you for good—made his chest ache in a way he hadn’t felt before.
The next morning, Tyler sat on the tailgate of his truck, absently sipping his coffee as the team went about their business. They were prepping for the day’s chase, double-checking equipment and reviewing the radar. Normally, he’d be in the thick of it, but his mind kept drifting, pulled in a direction he wasn’t ready to face.
Lily wandered over, her brow furrowed slightly as she eyed him. "You okay, Ty? You seem…distracted."
He shrugged, taking another sip of his coffee—too sweet, as usual. "Just got a lot on my mind."
Lily gave him a look that said she wasn’t buying it. She leaned against the truck beside him, crossing her arms. "You know, it’s kind of weird. Things have been off since she left. I mean, I knew she did a lot for the team, but…it’s more than that."
Tyler’s grip tightened around the cup, his jaw clenching. He didn’t need the reminder. Every day since you’d been gone, things felt off. The coffee wasn’t right, the music wasn’t right, hell, he wasn’t right. But he couldn’t put it into words—not without admitting what he’d been too stubborn to face.
Lily didn’t stop there. "She always knew what you liked, what you needed—even when you didn’t say it. You might not have noticed, but the rest of us did." She paused, giving him a sidelong glance. "It’s kind of strange not having her around. Things just don’t…flow like they used to."
Tyler said nothing, his mind racing as he took in her words. He hadn’t noticed how much you’d paid attention to him, all the little details you got right. But now that you were gone, it was painfully obvious. The realization gnawed at him, twisting the knot in his stomach even tighter.
Before he could respond, Boone approached, his usual easygoing smile replaced with a more serious expression. "Tyler, can I ask you something?"
Tyler nodded, relieved for the distraction—until Boone’s next words hit him like a punch.
"What’s the deal with you and Kate?"
Tyler blinked, caught off guard. "What do you mean?"
Boone raised an eyebrow. "Come on, man. It’s obvious something’s up. The way she’s been hanging around you, and now that…" He trailed off, his gaze flicking to the side. "Look, everyone’s been wondering."
Tyler let out a slow breath, running a hand through his hair. He didn’t owe anyone an explanation—but the question hung in the air like an anchor, forcing him to confront what he’d been avoiding. "Kate and I… it’s just business. We work well together, but that’s it. She’s brilliant and could really be changing the game with this theory. I care about her, sure, but she’s not…"
He stopped, his words catching in his throat. But what? He didn’t know how to finish that sentence because the truth was sitting right there in front of him, and it was something he hadn’t wanted to face.
Boone’s gaze softened. "She’s not what, Ty? What’s going on?"
Tyler swallowed hard, the words heavy in his chest. "Kate’s not her," he finally admitted, his voice low, almost as if he didn’t want to say it out loud. "The one I pushed away."
Boone nodded, his expression knowing. "You mean… her."
Tyler didn’t need to say your name. It was clear who they were talking about. He nodded, his jaw tightening as he tried to hold back the flood of emotions. "I messed up, Boone. She was always there, always…paying attention to everything, and I was too blind to see it. Now she’s gone, and I don’t think she wants anything to do with me."
Boone sighed, leaning back against the truck. "You know, Ty, you’re not the first guy to mess up. But you don’t have to be the guy who keeps messing up. If you care about her, you need to talk to her. And not through some half-assed text message or phone call."
Tyler glanced up, confused. "Then what do I do?"
Boone smiled, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. "You have to show her. Show her that she means something to you. It has to come from the heart. Do something that proves you see her, that you care, and that you’re willing to make it right."
Tyler let Boone’s words sink in, the weight of it settling over him. He knew he’d messed up—badly—and now he wasn’t sure how to fix it. But the idea of showing you how much he cared, of putting action behind the words he’d never said… it was the first thing that made sense in days.
But could he do it? Could he find the courage to face you after everything, after knowing that he was the one who made you feel like you were nothing more than an afterthought?
Tyler stared down at his cup, the taste bitter on his tongue. He had to try. He had to show you that you weren’t just another person in his life. You were the one person he couldn’t stop thinking about, the one he never should’ve let go.
Tyler stood in the parking lot of a gas station, his phone in hand as he stared at the DoorDash app. He’d scrolled through countless options, debating whether to go with something safe like pizza or take a risk. In the end, he decided on the riskier of the two options
He remembered how often you talked about that Chinese takeout place near your apartment, the one you always craved after long days. You’d even convinced him to try it once, and he’d never forgotten the way your eyes lit up when the food arrived. The memory was clearer than he expected, and now, standing alone in a parking lot, he wondered how he’d managed to let someone who knew him so well slip through his fingers.
He couldn’t remember your order. But he remembered that it was something with chicken. He used the pictures on the app and his memory to narrow it down to the dish he thought it was that you liked. With a deep breath, Tyler hit 'order' and added a note for the driver to leave the takeout at your door with a message: "For the long days. I know you love this place. —Tyler."
He hesitated before sending it, wondering if you’d even accept the delivery. Maybe you wouldn’t. Maybe you’d throw the food out without a second thought. But a part of him hoped that you’d understand what he was trying to say—that this was his first step toward making things right.
You sat on the couch, the remnants of the Chinese takeout scattered across the coffee table in front of you. The familiar flavors had been a comfort, even if you were reluctant to admit it. When you first saw the delivery bag at your door, your heart had skipped a beat, reading the note that was attached.
For a moment, you’d considered ignoring it—pushing it away like you’d been trying to push away the thoughts of him. But after a long day, it felt easier to accept the gesture, at least for what it was: food. Nothing more.
Now, sitting here with your phone in your hand, you debated whether or not to send a message. It wasn’t like you owed him anything, but the gesture had been thoughtful in its simplicity. And a small part of you knew he wasn’t doing it to get something in return—at least, you hoped that wasn’t the case.
Finally, you typed out a quick message: "Thanks for the food. It was good."
You stared at the screen for a moment, your finger hovering over the send button. It wasn’t deep. It wasn’t emotional. It was just an acknowledgment. Before you could overthink it, you hit send.
A few seconds passed, and you saw the notification that the message had been delivered. No reply came immediately, and you didn’t expect one. After all, it wasn’t like this was going to fix things between the two of you. But somehow, sending that simple thank you felt like a tiny weight off your chest, even if it barely scratched the surface of the bigger mess you were still sorting through.
The next morning, Tyler paced around his room, racking his brain for the next move. The takeout had been a start, but he needed to do more. He needed to show you that he hadn’t forgotten the details, even if he’d been too blind to see them before.
His eyes landed on his phone again, this time opening a florist app. He wasn’t going to send roses. You hated roses. You’d said they were too cliché, something people picked when they didn’t really know the person. He wanted to send something that mattered.
Blue. Your favorite color. You’d mentioned it a few times, and while he didn’t know which flower you loved most, he figured blue would be a safe bet.
He scrolled through the bouquets until he found one that seemed perfect—a mix of blue hydrangeas, forget-me-nots, and white lilies. Simple, beautiful, and meaningful.
When he hit send, his heart pounded. It felt like such a small thing, but at the same time, it felt monumental. He was trying to show you that he was paying attention, that he knew you better than he’d let on.
The knock on the door was unexpected, especially after the Chinese takeout from yesterday. You weren’t sure what to expect this time, but as you opened the door and saw the delivery man holding a bouquet of blue flowers, your heart stuttered.
You took the bouquet, your eyes scanning the shades of blue nestled together in the arrangement. There were no roses—just as you’d once mentioned in passing. Instead, there were lilies, hydrangeas, and forget-me-nots. It was simple but thoughtful. He remembered.
As you set the bouquet on the kitchen counter, you caught sight of a small card tucked between the flowers.
“Not roses, just like you said. I hope you like these instead. –Tyler”
A soft sigh escaped your lips as you traced your fingers over the petals. For the first time since leaving the team, something stirred inside you—a mix of gratitude and maybe even the smallest bit of fondness. The forget-me-nots, in particular, caught your attention. They’d always been your favorite, and though you weren’t sure if he knew that or if it was just a lucky coincidence, it felt... special.
You sat down, flowers still in view, and grabbed your phone. Again, you hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But the flowers were different. They meant something more. He’d thought about this.
After a moment, you started typing: “The forget-me-nots are my favorite, by the way. For future reference…”
You hit send, and for a moment, you almost regretted it. Was that too much? But then you shook your head. No, it was just a small hint. A little crack in the wall you’d built. You weren’t letting him back in, but... you weren’t completely pushing him away either.
When your phone buzzed a few seconds later with a reply, you almost didn’t want to look. But curiosity got the best of you.
“Noted.”
It was simple, just like your message had been. But there was something in that word—Noted—that made you think maybe, just maybe, Tyler was trying to show that he wasn’t giving up. At least, not yet.
The sound of the doorbell jolted you from your thoughts. Another delivery? You stood up, your heart sinking slightly, bracing yourself for yet another gesture you weren’t sure how to interpret. When you opened the door, though, it wasn’t another delivery person—it was Tyler.
For a moment, you just stood there, frozen. Tyler was at your doorstep, looking both determined and vulnerable. He glanced at you, his eyes searching for something, maybe a hint of how you were feeling.
“Hi,” he said softly, as if unsure of how to begin.
“Hi,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper.
He took a deep breath, his gaze shifting from the floor to your eyes. “I know this is probably the last thing you expected, and I know I don’t really have the right to be here. But I needed to see you.”
You stepped aside to let him in, your heart pounding. Tyler walked into the room, glancing around as if trying to take it all in.
“I want to start by saying that I’m truly sorry,” he began, his voice steady but filled with emotion. “Not just for leaving like I did, but for not seeing how much I hurt you. I’ve had a lot of time to think about it, and it’s clear that I messed up.”
You watched him, your eyes brimming with unshed tears. Tyler ran a hand through his hair, looking both pained and determined. “You know, I’ve been trying to adjust to how things are now, and I’ve realized just how much I miss you. Like, seriously. Boone’s music choices have been driving me nuts. It’s not even that he’s got bad taste, but I keep thinking about how you always knew exactly what songs I liked. And then there was the coffee—Dexter tried to get it for me, and it was all wrong. You always knew how I liked it. It’s the little things that I miss the most.”
A faint smile tugged at your lips despite yourself.
Tyler noticed and seemed to take a breath of relief. “And Kate… she’s a great person, but she’s just a professional colleague. I got caught up in this idea we were working on, and I was so intrigued that I didn’t see how it was affecting you. I should have never left the team like that. I’m sorry for that, too.”
He took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto yours with a mixture of hope and desperation. “But the real reason I’m here is because I can’t stop thinking about you. I’ve had time to think about what I want, and it’s you. I love you. I love how you’re always there for me, how you know my favorite songs, how you care about the little things. I love your smile, your laugh, and even how you get annoyed with me sometimes. I’ve realized all the ways you’ve shown me that you care, and I’ve been blind to it.”
A heavy silence fell between you. Tyler’s eyes were pleading as he awaited your response. When one didn’t come after several moments he sighed. His shoulders tensed, and he began to fidget, anxiety evident in his movements. “Maybe I’ve messed this up. I didn’t mean to make things worse. I should probably just—”
Before he could finish, you stepped closer, reaching out to gently touch his arm. “Don’t,” you said softly. “I’ve waited a long time for you to say something like this. Don’t make me wait any longer.”
A smile of pure relief and happiness spread across Tyler’s face. He pulled you into a tender embrace, his lips finding yours in a kiss that spoke of all the words unspoken, all the emotions unexpressed. It was a kiss full of apologies, regrets, and hope for the future.
When you finally pulled back, you looked up at him, a sense of calm settling over you. “I love you,” you whispered.
Tyler’s eyes softened as he nodded, holding you close. “I love you,” he said, his voice barely more than a breath. He then leaned in, pressing his lips to yours in another kiss.
As your lips finally part, the soft hum of shared breath fills the space between you. Tyler’s forehead rests gently against yours, both of you lingering in that quiet, electric moment. You’re still standing close to the door, the rush of the kiss slowly giving way to a deeper warmth—something steady and grounding. His thumb brushes along your cheek, his gaze locked on yours as though he’s memorizing every detail of this moment.
You both stand there for a beat longer, neither in a hurry to move or speak. But then, Tyler’s eyes drift past you, landing on the bouquet of blue flowers in the vase on the kitchen counter. His lips curl into a smile, a playful glint flickering in his eyes.
“I see the flowers made the cut,” he teases, his voice soft but with that familiar hint of humor. He steps back just enough to point toward them. “Did I do okay?”
You glance over your shoulder at the flowers and then back at him with a smile. “You did more than okay,” you say warmly. “But I think I still owe you a proper thank you.”
His brows arch in interest. “A proper thank you, huh?”
Before he can respond, you reach up, pulling him back down into another kiss, this one slower, more certain, like you’re sealing the promise of something new between you.

“Have you really never slept with anyone?”
Reiner shrugged, sipping the last of his drink and sliding it across back to the bartender, who silently asked if he wanted another, which he nodded in reply.
“I mean I’ve gotten close, but.” Shying away at your brash question, wishing this could be a conversation elsewhere or not at all.
“Define close.” You asked, leaning back in your seat with a knowing smile, needing to know how the hunk of a man in front of you hasn’t gotten laid at least once.
“Can we talk about something else?”
“Ugh come on, I’m just curious! How has someone as attractive as you not had a dozen or more women in your bed.” Shoving his shoulder playfully to try and get him to loosen up. Blame it on the alcohol but you weren’t convinced he hasn’t fucked before and shamelessly wanted the details, there was no way he didn’t fuck women’s brains out and leaving them begging for more.
“I don’t know, just hasn’t happened.” Reaching for his refilled glass of bourbon from the bartender, contemplating if he should down it all at once to keep up with this conversation or savor it in hopes that you’ll drop it.
"Is it because you're nervous? Scared you'll mess something up?' Continuing on with your questions, even though the man beside you looked less than willing to indulge you, irritation settling into his guise.
"I really just want to drop it." Whipping his heard around to face you in the stool next to him, brows pinched with a thin-lipped frown.
Holding your hands up to surrender, you couldn't help but laugh a little. "Well, I'm always down to give you pointers, if you know what I mean."
Despite being initially irritated with you, Reiner broke out into the tiniest of smiles, understanding the playful humor in your words.
A couple weeks had passed since then, going about your life and occasionally talking to him. Reiner was your closest friend, meeting a couple of years ago through mutual friends between each other. At the time, you were dating someone and kept things respectful, even if you found him wildly attractive and wanted to climb him like a tree. Now you were single, living life with no pursuit of getting into a relationship, but your attraction to Reiner didn't go away, only seem to be inflamed since breaking up with your ex.
The hints you were dropping weren't doing the job like you wanted, Reiner was either clueless or brushing them off, not feeling the same towards you. But now knowing he was a virgin, scrambled things in your brain, made things even more confusing.
A night in on a Friday evening were your plans, catching up on some shows, tidying your place up a bit and just relaxing. That was until you received a cryptic text from Reiner asking if he could come over and get some help from you. Of course you said yes, not even know what it could be about, it's not like you were busy.
He looked flustered when you opened the door to your apartment, coyly smiling and slipping inside, going straight to the couch to sit. Not thinking too much of it, you joined him, crossing your legs underneath you and facing towards him.
"Everything okay?"
He sighed, placing his elbows on his knees and covering his face with his hands. Reiner didn't say anything for a moment, both his legs bouncing up and down with nerves, making you turn slightly concerned for what this was about.
"I don't really know how to ask this, it's kinda embarrassing and I don't want it to ruin anything between us."
Nodding slowly, setting your half drunk glass of wine down on the coffee table, you looked at him.
"Can't be that bad, just ask." Smiling warmly, leaning into your fist on your temple.
Letting out another sigh, Reiner groaned, slouching into the couch and staring at the ceiling. He was flushed red, embarrassingly red from the way he spoke and how uncomfortable he looked sitting on your couch, something he's done a hundred times.
"I want some pointers." Murmuring under his breath, still looking at the ceiling.
Pointer? For what? That was so vague you couldn't begin to think of what he needed pointers on or for.
"Okay...? For what exactly?"
Sitting up, scooting to face you more, Reiner looked at you with a stern stone faced expression, like you were already supposed to know what he was talking about.
"When we were at the bar, and you offered pointers for, ya know." Kind of whispering when he spoke, like there were others in your apartment that could possibly hear what he was saying.
Blame it on the bit of wine you had, you stared at him a little blankly, trying to recall what he was talking about. That night was a little blurry as both of you were drinking, but when it finally hit you what he was referring to, your mouth shut and your eyes widened.
"Oh. You want "pointers" for that." Using air quotes around the word, attempting to be lighthearted but quickly seeing the embarrassment spread across his face. It was sweet the way he was asking, not trying to come off too blunt or wrong for what he was asking.
"I didn't know who else to go to and the conversation got me a bit, it's not your fault but I just want to know what to do if I ever get the chance." Sputtering out and stumbling on his words, Reiner somehow turned even more red and like he was ready to sprint out your front door to never return.
Letting out a breath, you scoot closer to him on the couch, watching him sit up straight and scan you over with his eyes. He was trying to psychoanalyze what you were going to do or say, nervous he overstepped the boundaries of your friendship and partially regretting bringing this up at all.
"I can help you, give you pointers. But you know for this kind of thing, physical teaching is best," Pausing to give him a reassuring smile and place a hand on his leg. "Is that something you want?"
Reiner swallowed thickly, adam's apple bobbing nervously and the gears behind his eyes turning in contemplation. You kept your line of vision on him, not moving a muscle till he gave you an answer. Deep down you hoped he would be okay with it, more than happy to show him how to please a woman and how to get pleasure of out of having sex with one. Indulgences aside, you would've been willing anyway, being such good friends for a couple of years now.
"Yeah, I'll do whatever you say, just teach me, please." Breathlessly replying, following your movements as you stood from the couch, holding out your hand to lead him to your bedroom. His large hand engulfed yours timidly, so warm against your skin it sent goosebumps up your arm.
Once the two of you were in your bedroom, he seemed to relax, only a little as he took off the jacket he wore and laid across the desk chair in your room. His biceps swelled against the fabric of his short sleeves, distracting you as you were trying to dim the lighting to better set the mood.
Patting the edge of the bed where you sat, Reiner shuffled over after kicking off his shoes, sitting with a little more distance than you'd like, scooting closer and running a hand over his chest. He stiffened, trying to gauge what you were doing.
"For the best experience, it's always better to build up to it, instead of jumping straight in. So, have you ever kissed or made out with someone?"
"A couple times yeah."
Humming, you moved your hand to hold the side of his face, turning him to face you completely, leaning in close. "Kiss me then, do whatever feels natural."
Reiner cleared his throat, bringing his hand to hold the side of your face as well, leaning in until his lips brushed across yours, just barely. You were going to let him lead for now, since he knew what to do right now, sighing softly into his lips when yours finally met. They were so plush and soft, not what you were expecting. He was still nervous as his kissed you with closed lips, but you teasingly swiped your tongue across his bottom one, getting him to part just enough to slot your lips together.
The hand on the side of your face moved to the back of your head as he got comfortable with the flow of your lips dancing together, running his other up and down your arm. Reiner was eager, or getting there as he didn't break away once. Your fingers tangled into the short blonde locks at the back of his hair, pulling yourself in closer, trying not to get ahead of yourself.
"Like that?" Whispering into the space between your mouths when he pulled away, breathing a little heavy from the extended lack of air.
"Mhm, keep going, do whatever feels right." Encouraging him with another smile, curious of what he would do next, whether that be hauling you into his lap or moving his lips to kiss along your jawline or neck.
Almost with hesitation, Reiner slipped the hand running up and down your arm under your thigh, indicating he was about to haul you into his lap. Helping him out, swinging your legs on either side of him, you wrapped your arms around his neck and bent down some to meet his lips again. He groaned oh so softly at that, resting his hands on your hips, making you thing he was going to scoot your further onto his lap instead of just sitting on his thighs. And surprisingly he didn't, keeping you right where you were and devouring your mouth eagerly.
Taking a bit of initiative yourself, you moved to sit right over his crotch, rolling your hips once and smiling at the surprised gasp behind his lips still pressed to yours. His eyes snapped open, the obvious question of 'what are you doing' swirling in his irises. Pulling away, brushing a thumb over his bottom lip, you smiled.
"Just helping in building the tension, getting us both worked up and needy."
A slow nod came, still nervous rather than confused, making you realize he hasn't gotten as far as you presumed he had. Knowing he was placing a lot if trust into your hands, you rolled your hips again, a bit firmer, watching him stifle a groan. He was growing hard beneath you, pitching a thick tent in his jeans and you could only imagine how uncomfortable it must've been.
"Here," Sliding down from his lap, reaching for the hem of your shirt to pull it over your head. "Undress a bit, it'll feel better."
Instead of moving, Reiner's eyes hungrily traces over your chest, staring right at your bra and nearly missing you pulling your sweats down, left in only a bra and panties. He broke from the trance, unbuttoning his jeans after undoing his belt and ripping him off his legs, now much more eager as he was about to get a taste of something he's never had before. It was cute, endearing almost, making you feel like a predator closing in on its prey with solid intent. You swung your legs back over either side of him, hovering over his clothed erection as you slipped his shirt off yourself.
"If at any point you want to stop, just tell me." Running your hands on top of his shoulders, down his biceps and eventually to his hands to place them back on your hips, still hovering above him.
"I don't think I will but, I appreciate it." Breathily responding, looking at you with stars in his eyes, wetting his lips and craning his neck back to look up at you.
"Of course, but you'll communicate with me right, I don't want to do anything to make you uncomfortable." Teasingly lowering your hips, almost brushing your clothed cunt over his erection and seeing the anticipation run throughout his body, how much he was craving the touch.
"Yeah, I trust you. Just show me how and what I've been missing out on." God, his voice was so desperate sounding, yearning for the experienced touch and the knowledge that was within his grasp, dangled in front of him by you.
Softening, your fingers threaded through the back of his hair, finally sitting on his lap all the way, giving a roll of your hips and drinking in the sweet sound of his groan. His fingers dug into your hips, releasing quickly and palming the area instead. To keep him occupied and not distracted by new sensations, you smashed his lips to your, kissing him insistently, eagerly and with one goal in mind. Reiner melted to your touch, gaining a bit of confidence with his hands, allowing one of them to reach up to your neck and the other start to guide your hips back and forth. He was falling into bliss, on his way to getting drunk on lust, and that was exactly how you wanted him.
Pushing him back with a hand to his chest, you fell with him on the bed, reaching around to unhook your bra, sitting up and breaking the kiss so he could set his eyes on your tits. You cupped them proudly after your bra was tossed, giggling to his wide eyes and parted lips, letting your humming laugh turn into a moan when you tweaked your nipples with your thumb and index.
Gyrating slowly to a beat in your head, your thumb and index pinched and pulled on your nipples, turning them hard and pointed. Reiner couldn't help but reach a hand up, move one of yours out of the way and engulf the flesh in his hand. His palm was warm and gentle, his touch hesitant as he pressed the pad of his thumb down onto your hard nipple, earning a squeak from you.
"That okay?" Asking with concern almost, like he couldn't differentiate the noises you made just yet.
"Yea, just let your instincts guide you." Letting your head fall back, letting out a sigh of a moan as he rubbed his thumb in circles on your nipple.
It was then Reiner sat up on his elbows, craning his head to flick the tip of his tongue on the same nipple. To help him out, you bent forward, pushing your tit into his mouth and groaning in relief when he sucked and swirled his tongue around the bud. He caught on quickly and had the touch of someone who knew what they were doing, which was a welcomed surprise. He hummed into your skin, looking at you with the equivalent of doe eyes, checking in to make sure everything he was doing was right, so eager to please.
Running a hand through his thick blonde hair, pressing down hard on his clothed dick, you let your head fall back, squeaking out a whine or two.
"Reiner, fuck-"
He stopped, coming off with a pop and letting out a few heavy breaths. "W-what?"
"Keep going."
The relief coming over him at the realization that you were exclaiming in pleasure to his ministration and not the opposite, it was so sweet that he cared as much as he did.
He gripped the other one in his hand as his mouth, returned to sucking and swirling his tongue, getting more into it with the muffle of groans and twitching of his hips, which reminded you to resume what you were doing earlier. You didn't even have to see to know he was painfully hard, throbbing beneath his boxers from doing more than making out and fisting his own cock.
Pulling back just a little, you slipped his dick out of the waistband of his boxers, thumbing over the flushed red tip. Reiner audibly groans this time and pulls off of your tit, shaking as he inhales a few breaths. He watches as the pad your thumb swirl the bead of pre-cum around the head with rapt attention.
"Feels different from when I do it." Muttering under his breath, fingers curling into the fabric of your comforter.
" 'Suppose to, someone else's touch is always going to feel different, better."
Tightening your hand into a fist, you let it descend down to the base of his cock, getting a better idea of how thick he was. There was a considerable amount of length to him, but fuck was he thick. Even if it wasn't his first time, fucking into your tight pussy may send him over the edge after a few strokes.
"Such a pretty cock, nice and thick too." Idly commenting, lazily stroking him from base to tip, his face contorting in pleasure from your hand and the inner struggle of not releasing too soon.
"Won't hurt too much for you?"
"No. As long as there's prep neither of us will have to worry about anything." Smiling a little deviously, seeing as he was so blissed out that he hadn't caught on to your insinuation, which anyone else would've.
Sinking down to the floor on your knees, taking his boxers along the way, you hummed sweetly, eye to eye with his dick now. Running a long stripe on the underside of his cock, kissing the tip, you heard the man grapple with quieting the noises admitting from him. Eventually he wouldn't be so shy, wouldn't conceal those pretty moans and whines, letting whoever it was he was fucking enjoy knowing they were making him feel good.
Carefully reaching the tip after a few long stripes to the underside of his cock, you enclosed your lips around the head, hollowing your cheeks out to harshly suck. His hips rutted, or tried to, as you began, whining under his breath and keeping his eyes trained on you. That pitiful look on his face with a hint of innocence still was making you press your thighs together. Reiner was already so attractive, but he looked so pretty like this, trapped under you metaphorically and literally here soon.
Knowing the head of his cock was good and sensitive now from your undivided attention to it, you opened your mouth and relaxed your throat, taking him all the way down and holding yourself there, inhaling the musk of his skin as your nose pressed underneath his naval.
"Oh fuck - shit." He cursed, clenching a fist and biting down on his knuckles as he met your eyes. They were watery and rapidly blinking while keeping the fat cock deep in your throat. Reiner gaped, huffing and puffing, doing everything in his power not to cum down your throat.
Humming around his dick, you moved to pull off, but not all the way. Bobbing up and down slowly, dragging your lips over the veins and ridges on the appendage granted you the sweet decadent whimper from the blonde man experiencing ecstasy for the first time. You didn't let up either, kept moving up and down, moaning around his cock and fluttering your eye lashes. Reiner had either made a mistake or the greatest decision coming to you for 'pointers', going out of your way to give him a hell of a first time to think back on.
"Wait! Stop I'm about...I'm about to cum." The plea was so strained and raspy, it sent shivers down your spin, reluctantly pulling off and letting the pre-cum and saliva drip down your chin.
"Sorry, I didn't want to cum in your mouth, rather do it somewhere else." Bashfully saying as he was still catching his breath, watching you stand up and slipping your sheer panties down your legs, kicking them aside.
"And where would that be exactly?" Teasing him even though you knew the answer, pushing him back by the chest until he scooted more onto the bed, moving to standing on your knees and pressing them into his hips.
Reiner's mouth opened and closed as he grappled with the answer, not wanting to say it aloud for whatever the reason may be. But you pressed by wrapping a hand back around the base of his saliva coated dick, leaning to hover over him, chuckling under your breath.
"Inside."
"Inside where?"
A displeased whine emanated from his tightly pressed lips, squeezing his eyes shut as you squeezed your hand around him.
"Inside your pussy." Reiner's words being so breathless and airy as he spoke, emphasizing the craving deep inside him to sink and stretch his cock around your plush inviting walls and who were you to deny him?
Releasing your hand from around him, you then moved to slide the sensitive tip of his dick through your folds, cooing at his overwhelmed reaction.
"When a girl rides you, it's always important to let her sit herself down, especially with your size, don't want to hurt her." Going back to advising him on future endeavor despite hating the idea of anyone else getting the privilege of riding his cock.
He nodded in response, tensing when the head slipped inside, sputtering out more groans and gasps. You bit down on your bottom lip to compose yourself, just the very tip of him stretching you out more than expected.
"Make sure to let her adjust too, don't just start slamming her down or up into her." Continuing on while slowly sinking down all the way, until he was bottomed out inside you. God he was bigger than he looked, feeling so fucking full and neither of you had moved yet.
"Fuck this feels so good, so tight oh my god." His beautiful face pinched in pleasure, letting his hands instinctively rest on your hips and caress the area as you adjusted.
"Feel how you expected?" Teasing as an arch in your back grew, raising your hips off of him half way and sinking them back down painfully slow.
"No, you feel so much better than I could've dreamt of baby."
Reiner caught you off guard for a second. Had you misheard him? There's no way he'd dreamt of fucking you like he just said, you swore he didn't even like you like, current situation aside. Deciding to not give it much thought, you resumed softly moving your hips up and down before you began to bounce, really not wanting him to cum too early. Though, the man was eager, gripping your hips and trying to move faster, chasing the sweet taste of relief.
Moving to bouncing up and down on his cock, you saw as something flip inside Reiner, confidence taking over and greediness swirling with the lust in those golden eyes of his. He grunted with each slam of your pussy, pushing his cock deeper inside you each time, prodding against your cervix it felt like.
"You're going to cum if you don't slow down." Doing your best to hide the moan hidden behind your words, not shy to admit being slammed down onto his cock didn't feel good. In fact it felt heavenly. His fat dick sliding and rubbing along your walls, stretching your pussy to take each stroke and bullying its way across the spongy spot inside you had you focusing not to cum too quickly and end this with him.
"Tryin' to make you cum," Reiner huffed, grasping your ass cheeks and pulling them apart, gritting his teeth as he concentrated on meeting your hips with his. You weren't expecting yourself to be loosing it as quickly as you were but, fuck it felt so god damn good.
"Fuck, then keep doing what you're doing, don't change anything just - keep fucking me." Letting your head dip, planting your hands on either side of his head and unleashing all the unfiltered noises that had been trapped in your throat.
First time or not, Reiner picked up on things quickly, once the nervousness of it all dwindled and he allowed his confidence to take the reins. You had to remind yourself to savor every second of this, not knowing if this would be the only time, but having a strong feeling it might be. Oh well. At least you were his first and not someone random, at least you were able to teach him a bit and prevent him from awkwardly stumbling around for his first time.
"Next time I want you to teach me how to eat that pussy of yours, get it nice and wet so I'll just slide right in." Growling right into your ear, bending on of his legs at the knees to give him a better angle to fuck into you.
"Wha?" So gone, barely understanding what he just said, partially not believing it.
"I still have a lot to learn don't I?" Now he sounded smug, a half smirk pulling on one corner of his mouth when you slightly turned to look at his face.
"I guess you do yeah." Giving him the same half smirk and slamming your hips all the way down unexpectedly, grasping his chin and holding it tight. "Now cum inside me like you said you wanted to big boy."
His eyes rolled back into his head, sucking in a sharp breath, keeping you flush to his hips as he vigorously rutted his hips up into yours, pushing the head of his cock to what felt like all the way to your stomach. You cried out, nails creating crescents in his skin as you moaned and writhed above him, reaching your own orgasm while adding fuel to his own until the rutting stopped and warmth filled the walls of your pussy.
A low deep groan came with each pulse and spurt inside of you, sweat beading at his hairline and neck, rolling down his glistening skin. When his hand released your hips, you slipped off of him, ruined and oversensitive pussy hovering over his cock, letting Reiner watch his cum leak out from your entrance and drip down onto his softening dick. He tried to get up, but you pushed him back down, shuffling to the bathroom to clean up and him when you got back.
You'd never seen him so relaxed, tired and content at once, sprawled out in the middle of your bed, catching his breath once again.
"After care is important, don't just fuck someone and leave." Gently running the warm damp wash rag over his lower body, cleaning up your combined messes.
"Yeah," Sighing contently, sitting up all the way and looking directly at you with the all too familiar bashfulness from earlier. "What I said when we were, um - if you don't feel the same way-"
Cutting him off with a press of your finger to his lips. "Let's talk about all that in the morning, we're tired and it's late."
Softening once again with a small relief, Reiner nodded, moving off the bed so you could pull back the comforter, slipping inside and snuggling up beside him into his chest with his arm wrapped around you, allowing the two of you to drift off to sleep.

Seeking Forgiveness [Part Seven]
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Fem!Reader Word Count: 3.6k
[Full summary and installment list for this series can be found here.]
Warnings/tags: 18+ contains angst, emotional hurt, delayed comfort, pregnant Reader
a/n: I have finally gotten this update up for y'all! It's been written and sitting waiting for over a month, but now that I'm not trying to write holiday fics (though I might still write that Owen Sleater one), it's back to business as usual! Feedback is always appreciated!
Fidgeting with the beer bottle between his fingers, Matt wasn't paying much attention to the room around him. Which said a lot about his current focus considering how loud Josie’s bar was this evening with the crowd that had filled the space tonight. He also wasn't paying any attention to the conversation Foggy and Karen had struck up a while ago at their table about a client they'd met with earlier today. Because despite the fact that Matt was currently sitting with the pair of them drinking back his beer, his attention was entirely elsewhere this evening. On you a couple of blocks away in your apartment.
Admittedly there wasn’t very much that he could pick up on at this distance where he sat at Josie’s, but he couldn’t seem to stop himself from trying to hear what he could–even if he knew he shouldn't be invading your privacy like this. It was already bad enough he always stopped by at the beginning and end of his patrols, always wanting to make sure things were alright. Though deep down he knew he kept doing it because he was desperate to feel connected to the pair of you somehow. He just couldn't seem to stay away despite that being what you seemed to want him to do.
His eyes narrowed in concentration behind the lenses of his glasses. It sounded like you were cleaning up whatever dinner you'd made in your kitchen, which made sense considering the hour. You usually ate around this time after work. As he listened to the faint sounds of dishes clinking together, he wondered what you’d made to eat tonight. You'd been craving pesto pasta like crazy but constantly kept forgetting to add the items to your grocery list. Something Matt only knew because of his new habit of lingering on your rooftop as Daredevil, not because you'd actually spoken to him recently and told him yourself. For which he kept chastising himself about doing, except he couldn't seem to stop eavesdropping.
Like right now.
Despite you making it clear you wanted nothing to do with him for the time being, he had tried calling you repeatedly in the hopes of finding a vastly healthier and less invasive way to stay connected with you, but you'd only answered once and it was to ask him to stop calling. You told him when you were ready to talk that you'd reach out to him. Which meant he hadn't tried to show up at your apartment as Matt Murdock, trying to respect your wishes. But that ultimately put him in a difficult position, because not communicating with you meant he couldn't prove himself to you–couldn’t prove how sorry he was for what he’d done. He'd been back and forth on that for the past two days, constantly feeling like the clock was ticking on him finding some way back into your life to show you that you and that baby were what he wanted.
An abrupt, loud snapping noise sounded directly in front of Matt’s face and he jumped in his chair, blinking rapidly a few times behind his glasses. The noise instantly had broken his concentration from his thoughts and your apartment, something that had taken him quite a few minutes to lock in on in the first place considering the distance.
“Matt, buddy, you in there?” Foggy asked.
Matt cleared his throat, forcing a smile onto his face at the sound of his friend's voice. Gradually and begrudgingly his attention and senses returned to the bar around himself.
“Yeah, sorry,” he replied. “Was just zoning out, I guess.”
“Thinking about her again, aren’t you?” Foggy solemnly asked.
“Kind of hard not to,” he muttered.
He felt Karen’s hand land gently on his shoulder before giving it a comforting squeeze. He glanced in her direction, sending the tense smile her way. Despite how much he'd screwed things up with you, and how much Foggy and Karen cared about you, they'd still been incredibly supportive of him. They'd even been understanding of his initial angry outburst at the office for which Matt had guiltily apologized for numerous times by now.
"She's doing alright," Karen assured him. "Though I'm guessing you already know that."
Matt ducked his head, awkwardly running a hand across his mouth as he felt the guilt burn within him. There was no point in denying it. You had to have already figured it out yourself when he'd left that stuffed narwhal at your apartment after you'd gone back to sleep the other night. It wasn't as if he'd expected that to make you feel any differently about him, but he hoped you knew that he was still here. Still around. Still thinking about the both of you. Still wanting the both of you.
"Yeah, I stop there at night," Matt admitted awkwardly. "Not for long," he lied, "just enough to know things are alright. That she doesn't need anything. And to uh…hear the heartbeat."
Truthfully it had become his new favorite sound, even more than the beat of your own familiar heart. It was muffled but strong, faster than the usual heartbeats he heard all day long.
"Have you tried just showing up?" Foggy asked curiously. "You know, the way people usually do, not the way you usually do? Just to see what would happen?"
Matt shrugged, shifting in his chair. "I've thought about it," he answered. "I'm just always torn between respecting her boundaries and wanting to show her that I'm still here for her. That I want to be. But I'm always afraid if–” he paused, wincing as the thought crossed his mind. “I'm afraid if I do, it'll only upset her more. Push her away from me even further.”
Karen hummed in thought beside Matt. The sound caught his attention, his head tilting a bit to the side towards her. The noise almost sounded like one of disagreement.
“What?” Matt asked.
“I think,” Karen began carefully, “that she's actually a bit conflicted.”
Matt's attention focused entirely on Karen now as he straightened in his chair. His brows rose up curiously onto his forehead, eager for her to elaborate.
“Conflicted?” he asked curiously. “Conflicted how? About what? Me?”
“Yes,” Karen answered with a faint nod. “I mean she obviously still loves you, Matt. That doesn't just disappear overnight. Ideally I think she'd want you to be raising the baby with her from the way she talks. Going through all of this with her. But she's still hurt. And she's scared. And she, well, obviously still doesn't believe her and the baby would be a priority to you.”
Matt twisted in his seat, fully facing Karen. “So what're you saying?” he pressed.
He heard the way the air shifted as Karen shrugged beside him. Her lip suddenly caught between her teeth where she lightly chewed it for a moment. The pause was killing Matt, his hand tightening around the neck of his beer bottle.
“I'm saying I think you should find an excuse and show up at her place,” Karen eventually replied. She held up a finger as she quickly amended, “As Matt, not you-know-who. Don't push her boundaries, just show up long enough to show her you're still here, like you’ve been wanting to do. That you're not giving up. I think she needs that more than she's letting on to you. Maybe…find some sort of way to show her you're trying to be a supportive future father and partner.”
“Okay,” Matt mused, running a frustrated hand through his hair and mussing it as his thoughts began to race. “Okay,” he repeated. “So don't show up with apology flowers. Noted.”
“No, but maybe bring her something else that might help her,” Karen suggested lightly. “Something that might be useful during her pregnancy. To show her you're serious about things with her and the baby.”
“Oh!” Foggy exclaimed, excitedly slapping a hand to the table. “Like an excuse to just show up and see her because you're dropping something off!”
Matt sighed deeply, swiveling back around in his seat. He leant his elbows onto the uneven wooden table as he began to rub his palms together in thought. What could he possibly bring you that might be useful for your pregnancy? Something you might actually be grateful for and need? That wouldn't make you curse him from daring to darken your apartment door?
This was something he'd have to give some thought to tonight.
Willing your mind to quiet, you lay on your side beneath the sheets of your bed which you'd tugged up to your chin. It was a little after one in the afternoon and you'd been hoping to take a brief nap after lunch, something you couldn't do during the weekdays because of work. Your body usually wanted to give up once this time of day hit, probably partly because of pregnancy fatigue but also because you hadn't been sleeping well lately.
It was damn near impossible to get comfortable when you laid down even though your stomach wasn't quite that large yet. But the hormones in your body responsible for relaxing your muscles and ligaments during pregnancy were also responsible for the fact that sleeping on your side killed your hips and knees far more than side sleeping ever had in the past. You didn't just wake up to pee or possibly vomit now, sometimes you just ached horribly and couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in. Which often led to your mind racing and keeping you awake for part of the night.
Truth be told though, everything on your body hurt lately. You often had headaches–another perk of early pregnancy–along with constant back and hip pain. Your breasts were still quite sensitive and tender, too. The one bright spot through it all this week had been an appointment you had coming up with your obstetrician. The one where you could get your blood drawn and in another week or so, you'd know whether your little devil would be a boy or a girl. It had been on your mind all week, your excitement barely contained and adding to your inability to sleep.
Trying to push the thought of the baby's sex from your mind, you squeezed your eyes a bit tighter shut. The light from the sunny afternoon was still slipping in past your blinds, making your room almost too bright. The sounds of the city traffic bustling below your apartment weren't helping right now, either.
But it was an unexpected knock at your apartment door that had your eyes inevitably flying back open.
Raising your head from the pillow hesitantly, you blinked hard a few times. You hadn't been expecting anyone to stop by today. Brows knitted together, you pushed the sheets off of yourself and ran a hand over your eyes. Moving slowly along the bed, you gradually pushed yourself upright and set your feet on the floor, noticeably moving slower than if you hadn't been almost eleven weeks pregnant.
Rising to your feet, you sluggishly made your way out of your bedroom and down the hall. Stopping in front of your door, you undid the locks before turning the handle and pulling it open. The sight of Matt standing before you in one of his fitted tee-shirts with an awkward smile on his face took you by surprise. Your eyes widened as you felt your own pulse increase at the unexpected appearance of him. Gaze dropping down, you saw he was carrying an almost comically large shopping bag in his left hand.
“Matt, what are you doing here?” you asked, one hand gripping the door tighter. “I thought I–I asked you to give me space for now?”
“Yes, you did,” he replied awkwardly, that smile on his face growing more nervous. “But I…I really don't want to stay away because I was still hoping you could give me a chance. To prove how sorry I am.”
Shoulders dropping at his words, you lightly blew out a breath. “Matt–”
“Hear me out, please,” he begged, cutting you off.
An earnest look crossed his face as his dark brows drew together above his glasses. Lips pressing together, you released the door from your grip and crossed your arms over your chest.
“Fine, talk,” you demanded.
“Look, I–I know you want me to stay away,” he began in a rush, as if he was afraid that you wouldn't give him enough time to explain himself before you slammed the door in his face. “And I want to respect that, I do. But I can't walk away from the both of you. I can't . I won't abandon my child and I won't abandon you. I want to prove how sorry I am to you, sweetheart. I want to prove that you can depend on me, that I want this. Because I do.”
“Matt, I already told you that I'd let you have a relationship with your child,” you reminded him. “I'm not telling you to abandon them.”
He shook his head quickly, his hand readjusting on the plastic bag he was holding. It crinkled loudly in his grip and briefly caught your eye again, making you wonder what the hell was in the bag. But when he spoke again, your attention returned to his face.
“You might not see it that way,” Matt countered, still shaking his head, “but to me it's no different. And I won't walk away from you or my own child.” His face grew more solemn as he added softly, “You know me, sweetheart. You know how I grew up, how it affected me. All I'm asking is that you just…just give me a chance to make amends. I made a massive mistake and I hurt you. I was an asshole and I want to fix things. So just…can you at least consider giving me that chance? Please?”
Inhaling a deep breath, your eyes scanned over his anxious, pleading face. Your heart had dropped in your chest the second he'd mentioned his past. Because of course you knew how Matt had felt abandoned by what his father had done, willingly going and getting himself killed when he won that fight instead of losing it which ultimately left Matt alone in the world. You also knew how he'd formed a bond with Stick, his mentor who'd abandoned him the moment Matt displayed his care for the man. You also knew about his toxic relationship–the only other he'd ever had–where his ex had abandoned him because he wouldn't kill his father's murderer. And then of course, you knew how much pain he'd felt when he learned that his mother had been a nun at the orphanage he grew up in, making him feel unwanted because he'd only accidentally overheard the truth as a grown man years later.
Matt Murdock struggled with feeling unloved and unwanted because of his abandonment issues from almost every important figure in his life. And now he was afraid he'd be condemning this child to a similar trauma. The thought of that caused your heart to twist tight in your chest.
“I'll think about it,” you answered quietly.
“Thank you,” Matt replied in relief, his expression visibly relaxing.
Your eyes dropped back down to the large bag in his hand, your head tilting to the side as you curiously studied it. Matt let out a nervous huff of a laugh as he shifted on his feet. He extended the bag out towards you and your brows jumped up onto your forehead.
“I uh, I brought you something,” Matt said, his tone returning awkward.
For a moment you just stared at the bag in his outstretched hand, unsure what to make of him bringing you anything right now. Slowly and hesitantly you reached out, grasping onto the handles of the bag. Though you let out a surprised gasp when Matt let go and the weight of its contents startled you, almost causing you to drop it entirely. Your other hand darted out, grabbing onto the bag and catching it before it could slip from your grasp. Drawing it towards yourself, you peered inside.
“It's a pregnancy pillow and a weighted blanket,” Matt explained, running his now free hand across the back of his neck. “I know you have had trouble sleeping lately and I thought they'd help. The weighted blanket should help relax you and the–the pregnancy pillow should help with body pain and the weight of your belly when you're farther along. I actually spent a while researching them. Who knew there were so many shapes?” He chuckled nervously, his hand still rubbing the back of his neck. “Figured this one would work the best for how you sleep–or, how I remember you always sleeping, at least.”
Your jaw dropped as you stared back at Matt, the heavy bag still held in your hands. While the gift was thoughtful and sweet, there was only one explanation as to why he'd brought these particular items which were meant to help you sleep, especially when you'd had a hard time doing exactly that lately.
“Have you been spying on me again, Matt?” you questioned in disbelief.
He hung his head immediately, his shoulders dropping at the accusation. You already knew the answer before he even said a word and your mouth fell open wider.
“I'm sorry, I shouldn't,” he apologized shamefully. “I know I shouldn't. But I mainly just check in first thing when I go out at night and–and then once more before I go home. To make sure you're safe and alright because I worry. And I–” he broke off, nervously chewing his bottom lip. “I like to listen to the baby's heartbeat,” he confessed quietly.
Something about the way he'd admitted that last bit had disarmed you. That wasn't what you expected him to say and you momentarily felt your heart soften to him. But your upset about him eavesdropping on you soon washed back over you again, your hands curling tight around the bag.
“I don't like that, Matt,” you warned him. “That makes me uncomfortable knowing my ex is listening in to whatever I'm doing in here and I don't know about it.”
Matt nodded solemnly in response. “I understand, I do. I'll try my best to refrain, but if something brings me nearby at night I…admittedly have a hard time not picking up on things.” He shrugged faintly, his covered gaze still downcast. “I'm just tuned into you and it's sort of a habit by now after how much time we've spent together.”
An awkward silence settled over the both of you at his explanation, the pair of you standing there wordlessly. You weren't about to invite Matt inside–especially not after just learning that –but you could also tell he clearly didn't want to go, either. Though after a moment he shifted his weight between his feet before he glanced up in your direction once again. His lips were twisted downwards at the corners, guilt and sadness barely hidden on his face. You fought to ignore the urge to draw him into a hug at the sight.
“I'll let you go, I can tell my visit isn't exactly what you want, but can you think about what I asked?” he questioned. “About giving me a chance to prove myself?”
Blowing out a breath, you slowly nodded. “I'll think about it,” you told him softly, “but I'm not making any promises, Matt.”
He shot you a tense smile, nodding his head once as he took a step back into the apartment building hallway. Something tugged at your heart knowing he was leaving, but you quickly tried to ignore that feeling, too.
“Hope those help,” he murmured, briefly gesturing to the bag.
Without another word, Matt turned and made his way down the hallway and back towards the elevator at the far end, his cane tapping lightly along the floor. You watched his retreating form for a moment before you forced your eyes away. You didn't know quite what to make of his surprise visit.
Closing the door of your apartment, you locked it again before dragging the heavy bag back to your bedroom. You were still tired and had every intention of attempting that nap despite the unexpected interruption, and admittedly you were curious about the items Matt had brought you. Would they actually help you fall asleep?
It was a few minutes before you'd managed to unpackage the incredibly soft, gray weighted blanket and spread it over your bed. You'd put the pregnancy pillow up on the bed underneath the blanket afterwards before you'd climbed up onto the mattress and slipped beneath the blanket. Immediately you wrapped your legs around the pillow and snuggled up to it, feeling the pain in your hips instantly lessen in this position. You sighed in relief, letting your eyelids gently drop as you felt the weight of the blanket relaxing you, just as Matt had claimed it would.
With a soft, contented hum, you nuzzled into your pillow and felt that wave of exhaustion begin to overtake you. But as you lay there waiting for sleep, you couldn't help but imagine it was the weight of Matt's arms wrapped around you, comfortably sinking you further into the mattress. And if you kept your eyes closed and tried hard enough, you could imagine it was Matt's thick thigh that your legs were wrapped around, wedged between yours just like you'd slept many nights in the past with him.
Which was how you finally found yourself drifting comfortably to sleep–imagining you were safe in Matt’s arms, the place you so desperately missed being.

Going to college helped Dino not only helped him find his passions in life but also found confidence in himself.
Maybe that was one positive to come out of dating apps? It made Dino feel good when he could swipe on someone and it was an instant match. He hated the moments where he would swipe on someone he found attractive, but would be stuck waiting to see if there was a mutual attractive. And sometimes, he would forget about who he swiped on because there would no ping indicating they swiped on him.
He never thought of himself as the most attractive guy. Honestly, he thought was more average than anything else.
But the moment he found himself in the bed of someone, he felt more reassured in himself. The more that people wanted him, attempted to gain his attention, he felt better about who he was as a person. I mean, college is all about self growth anyways, right? Dino's learning just happened beyond the classroom.
"Trying to find another date?" Seungkwan teased. "More like he's trying to find someone to fuck since he's getting lonely at night," Jeonghan added in.
There were times Dino regretted signing a lease with Seungkwan and Jeonghan. This was one of those times. The two of them thought fondly of their younger roommate, so they often lurked over his shoulder.
"Oh! She's cute," Seungkwan commented.
Hearing his friend, his head turned and narrowed his eyes at the culprit. He suddenly moved his phone close to his chest to gain some sort of privacy. But that was a big ask in this house especially with how close the three friends were. Jeonghan, being the menace he is, moved his hand around to move the phone away from Dino's chest which caused Dino to jump.
"Can I never have anything to myself?" he whined. "She's normally not your type, but maybe we could use a change?" "We?!" Dino gasped.
The two guys laughed before they moved away from the younger boy to go elsewhere in the apartment. Now alone, Dino did take a moment to look at your pictures closer. There were a few photos just of you. He found himself smiling at the way your eyes nearly closed when you were smiling wide. You also had a few pictures with friends at different events.
His thumb then pushed upwards on his phone screen, so he could look deeper into your profile. I have to know who she is.
The first thing he noticed was your name, 'Y/n," he murmured under his breath. It rolled off this tongue so eloquently. He also noticed that you were only 2 miles away from him.
Part of him wanted to stop and just swipe. There was always an element of mystery that came to first dates. Dino's favorite part was when he got to ask questions, got to learn about the other person. Yet, there was something urging him to keep going. After all, looking over your profile could give good talking points.
What sold the deal was your bio - "looking to experience something new 👀"
Intrigued, Dino swiped right on your account. And automatically, fire emojis skyrocketed from the bottom of the app and covered the screen. It's a match! was written across the screen as it brought up your profile with the ability to message you now available.
His fingers typed at lightning speed. He couldn't wipe the smile off his face at the presented opportunity to get to know you.
"I've never done this before. Wanna grab dinner tonight?"
You were at home, binging the reunion of Love Is Blind with your roommates. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon which of course required getting snacks from the grocery store, doing face masks, and a bottle of wine. All of your phones were placed on the table to minimize distractions
While all your roommates and you had different schedules, binging reality TV seemed to be the way you were able to come together. Everyone's eyes were watching the confrontation between two of the contestants when suddenly all eyes shifted to the coffee table once someone's phone lit up.
Specifically, your phone.
"Oh my god, guys! Y/n matched with someone on Tinder," one of your roommates called out. "And they messaged her."
And just like that, Love is Blind was forgotten about. Your third roommate reached for the Amazon Fire Stick remote to pause the Netflix show. All eyes then flickered from the coffee table and you. Never before had you been glad for a face mask to cover your face to hide your rouging cheeks, knowing that will only result in further teasing.
"Relax, you hyenas," you called out. It was as if they were holding their breaths until you read the message.
You typed in your password since your Face ID was not able to recognizing your face with the sheet mask on. The extra stop practically caused your roommates to shake with anticipation. You couldn't deny. You shared the same excitement, as you have decided this year, you were intentionally investing more in dating.
It's not like you had chosen before to not date. It was just something that settled on the back burner. You had always hoped to meet someone more organically, like at the coffee shop or on public transportation. Something out of a Hallmark movie. But that's not how reality worked. When you did meet someone, it was always overwhelmingly flirty which made you instantly retreat from the situation.
Yet, you couldn't deny the happiness you saw from your own friends and roommates when it came to their dating life. Oddly, even if it were a bad date, you wanted to feel the rush of getting ready for someone. You knew that in order to date that would require you putting yourself out there and being vulnerable. Your own saving grace was knowing your morales and not falling victim to social pressures.
Even if it meant not matching with many people because you wanted to take things slow, you would be content as you search for your perfect person.
Dino sent you a message
And maybe that was Dino.
There was no denying the smile that curled onto your lips at the name. You found the name adoring, peaking your interest. Your clicked on the message to read it.
"I've never done this before. Wanna grab dinner tonight?"
Your eyes widened which caused your roommates to lean in closer. The two right by your side let out a gasp, as the other two were practically going to pounce on you. However, you were too preoccupied with looking through his profile.
It took everything within you to maintain your composure, even if you wanted to squeal and kick your feet at the potential date. There were a few photos taken when he's been out to dinner. One in particular that caught your eye was him in a black tee shirt with a silver chain around his neck. Hello big arms! He had a softer face with a sharp jawline. Something about him seemed so friendly, making you even more willing to take the leap of faith.
"Come on, y/n," your one roommate begged. "We want to take a peak on tonight's bachelor."
You rolled your eyes before giving in and showed them his profile. One by one, your phone was passed around. Yet, after each person, there was a wide smile which indicated a sign of approval from your roommates. They knew that it took someone special for you to say yes, but it seemed like Dino had unlocked it just by sending a simple message.
"So what's the verdict, y/n? Are you extending a rose to Dino?"
What can you say? You guys really do love reality TV shows.
Without responding, your fingers went to work on the keypad of the app.
"Yeah, that sounds great! What's your favorite type of food? You can pick the restaurant as long as you meet me there at 7pm."
6:55pm
Dino had a routine when it came to first dates. Of course, he would shower first. He then would pick out an outfit that looked good but also one that was comfortable. Sometimes, after sitting for a while, he disliked the way certain jeans felt and he didn't want to be too squirmy in the chair across from his date. But he didn't want to dress too casually that might give the impression he was putting in little effort into this date.
For tonight, he opted for a pair of baggy jeans, a white t-shirt, and a tri-color cardigan. It was approaching that time of year when it might be a bit warm when the sun comes out, but gets a bit chilly still when the sun sets. Plus, he suggested going to a Mexican restaurant in between the two of you, so he knew while it might be a laid back setting, that he still looked presentable.
He had driven to the restaurant, since taking public transportation would take a bit too long especially since the restaurant was not even 20 minutes away. It was still light out too, but he knew when it was dark, he also had the opportunity to drive you home in the event you opted not to drive.
With his wallet and keys in his pockets, he approached the front entrance of the restaurant. It was a bit crowded for a Sunday night, but honestly, Dino didn't mind either way. He was admittedly excited that he was going to go out with you. Before leaving, Jeonghan and Seungkwan hyped him up and warned "she seems like a good girl, don't scare her."
There, indeed, was something different about you. Dino just couldn't put a finger on it, but that also made this date exciting. He's never had this level of interest in someone before.
As he approached, he noticed you were standing up front waiting for him. He couldn't help but smile at the gesture but also pick up his pace, not wanting you to be left waiting for long. Your thumb double-tapped your home screen, showing the time. Your noticeably let out a sigh before picking up your head. With a slight turn of your head, you made direct eye contact with him.
Dino couldn't help but notice the way your shoulders relaxed. Was she nervous? That's adorable. He wouldn't be rude and comment on it. He was just meeting you after all, and he wouldn't be so mean to embarrass you. Talk about a bad first impression.
"Hey y/n," he said as he approached you. "And you must be Dino," you smiled.
Gosh, her voice sounds angelic.
He never knew of someone who's voice matched so well to who they are as a person, but that wasn't the case with you. You were dressed so elegantly. Nothing too outlandish - just a pair of jeans and a rainbow colored sweater that looked light enough to be worn in any type of climate. You looked cute and breathtaking at the same time. A real life angel.
"I'm sorry if I kept you waiting," Dino apologized.
He reached behind you to open the front door, nodding his head for you to step in first. Your cheeks flushed quickly which caused Dino to smile brighter. "Thank you," you said before walking in. Dino let you take a few steps ahead of him before he joined in behind you. He kept a respectful distance, so you didn't feel uncomfortable but enough to indicate to any patron you two were together.
"Hi! I called earlier for dinner for two? The name is under Lee Chan."
The hostess nodded before looking down at the booklet, her finger acting as if it was guided to her name. Once she spotted his name, she grabbed the sharpie and crossed it out. She then proceeded to grab two menus before turning towards the two of you. "If you will follow me."
You glanced behind him with a wider smile this time. "You made reservations?" "Of course! I wanted to play it on the safe side."
It was such a tiny gesture but one that surely made your heart flutter. You never knew of anyone calling this particular restaurant for reservations, let alone anyone make reservations for the two of you. Knowing that Dino had been that thoughtful made you feel special. That had to be a tell-tale sign of the type of person he was. It just reassured you that this indeed was a good decision, even if it was spur of the moment.
You two were led to a booth along the wall. You were able to people watch if you desired, one of your favorite things to do. But it also offered enough privacy for the two of you to really get to know each other.
"M'lady," Dino said jokingly.
And he's funny! You giggled before accepting the menu from him. Being a bit nervous, you did look over the menu online before the date. You weren't trying to put too much weight on this date and all that it could potentially lead to. However, you still wanted things to go well.
"So? I gotta ask, is your name Dino or Chan? Or is there some secret third option?"
Dino couldn't help but laugh at your question. It was a fair question, and he knew that he would have to provide some context eventually. Lowering his menu, he wanted to be able to make eye contact with you. He didn't want to be rude!
"So, my full name is Lee Chan, but my friends call me Dino." "Dino," you said to yourself, smiling. "Why do they call you that?"
He smiled fondly at the memory of how he gained his nickname.
The menu was fully resting on the table, not only because he had made his dinner selection but because ehe was now fully invested in the conversation with you.
On the receiving end, the attention was a bit overwhelming. You were not so accustom to someone you were interested in making such direct eye contact with you. It only intensified the butterflies you felt in your tummy by his conscious choice of body language.
Yet, it wasn't something Dino just knew to be good manners. Plus, after one date when he looked all over the restaurant instead of just focusing on his date, he learned that's one way how you don't secure a second date.
"Well, believe it or not, y/n, I was a shy guy. Especially when I first was starting college? I could barely say hi without feeling nervous. But I guess as I experienced what it means to be in college, put myself out there, I started to gain more and more confidence. Eventually, my friends started to notice and said I was like the T-Rex in Jurassic Park, just bursting into the room and getting everyone's attention with my loud energy."
You nodded gently as you listened to him, smiling. You wanted him to keep talking to you, about himself. It helped take some of the pressure off of yourself, but you also were genuinely interested in Dino.
"Well, it is a very fitting nickname. Cute, I like it." "Cute like me?" Dino winked.
Immediately, your cheeks turned bright red as you tried hiding behind your menu. Dino couldn't help but chuckle more which only made you want to sink further into the booth, to hide. Was it a pitiful laugh or did he find it attractive?
God, what have I gotten myself into?
The waitress was your saving grace. You didn't have to come to some lame excuse or be subject to Dino's line of questioning quite yet. The waitress also coming around to take your order allowed the blood to subside from your cheeks. You wanted to try to be this cool and mysterious, to leave a good first impression. But honestly? You felt like a fish out of water. This was a brand new experience for you, and you were beginning to think you were too over your head.
Were you even ready to date? How does one even know if they are ready or need more time?
Once your orders were placed, Dino and you handed your menus to the waitress before she left you two alone. Here we go.
"So, y/n, tell me about yourself," Dino asked before taking a sip out of his water.
Okay! An easy question! Perfect.
You sat up a bit straighter in the booth, becoming a bit self conscious of your posture. At least from everything you've heard and seen about dates, even the tiniest things can make or break the date.
You told Dino about how you recently graduated college in the winter. Recently, you took the leap to move the city as your job was switching from remote to a hybrid model. You also needed the change of scenery, which has helped you want to put more roots down in the city.
Dino was impressed with your sheer perseverance. It's never easy to say goodbye to what you now and venture into the unknown, but you proved it was possible.
"Wow, that's really incredible. Good for you, y/n. I moved here with two of my best friends, so I cannot not imagine just making such a big move. Do you live alone?" "Oh no, I have like 5 roommates in our three floor apartment. It really helps." "So like a little family?" "Definitely feels like that sometimes," you laughed.
Truly, you held your roommates close to your heart. Not only did things work out for a good living situation, but they were the first friends you made in the city. They helped you through the homesickness you felt by letting you openly talk about life back home, or push for you to cook some of your favorite meals for them to try.
They also were big supporters in your venturing into dating. They offered many tips into how to date safely and allowed you to ask questions without judgement. They also were clearly very excited you took a chance of Dino rather than running in the opposite direction.
"So is that why you're on the dating apps? If you don't mind me asking, do you find yourself ready to date in a new palce?"
Well, he was half-right.
"Yeah, I think I'm ready to finally open myself up in that way. Moving and getting used to my surroundings really took a large chunk of my time." "No, that's completely understand. I've come to learn you need to be satisfied with yourself and other aspects of your life before being vulnerable with someone else because someone can really shake things up." "Well, for better and for worse."
He smiled at your optimism before nodding in agreement.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, when was your last relationship? It sounds like you have some past experience."
Dino couldn't help but chuckle. It wasn't really at the question himself, but the experiences he has had with dating were a bit comical. You frowned a bit, worrying that you asked the same question. He quickly stopped though to offer a gentle smile.
"Sorry, it's not you. Some memories of past dates came flooding in," he explained.
Well, that's more than I have, so you couldn't wait to hear them. Maybe they were just as funny as some are on the sitcoms you liked to rewatch?
Yet, you couldn't help but wonder if your very limited experience would be a deal breaker.
"What about you though? If you don't mind me asking," Dino said, restating the exact words you said to him.
It was meant to be comforting, but it made you all the more nervous. I guess it was the moment of truth.
"If we're being honest, I haven't been in a serious relationship before."
As you spoke, your tone was softer than from how you had previously carried it throughout the conversation. Dino couldn't help but frown and feel his heart chip a bit. Going on dates and then dating someone was always exciting, so he felt empathetic that you hadn't quite experienced that type of emotions yet. And he also felt sad that people had done you wrong.
"People suck," he murmured. "I'm sorry that you've been out with people who didn't take the time to realize how lucky they were for meeting you."
Your eyes widened at his words. You opened your mouth to clarify but you were so thrown off by his words. Luck? He thought it was a good thing meeting me? A complete stranger? You bit the inside of your cheek to try to rid of the creeping blush on your cheeks. This guy was too sweet to you.
"I mean, I felt like I was lucky when I found out you swiped on me," he confessed.
Now it was Dino's turn to blush. Your eyes widened but you couldn't help but smile wider. It was endearing to see him get a bit shy, almost like he was revealing the past version of himself. You were truly the lucky one that someone had just wanted to spend their Sunday evening with you.
"Trust me, I felt the same way. Even more so when you asked me. It was an easy yes."
Dino's ego came soaring back a bit. He knew the hardship of dating in college and trying to form authentic relationships. What he found himself wanting to do now was give you the best that he could offer to you.
"So is that what you meant in your bio when you put that you are looking for something new?"
It was as if in that moment you could hear glass shattering. Reality had come back into full swinging, shattering any sense of hope you had. There was no fighting the truth because it always finds a way to reveal itself. God, I just want to be eaten by the floor.
"Actually, yes and no?"
You sounded unsure of yourself. Yet, not wanting to jump to any conclusions, Dino kept a smile curled onto his lips. The way he sat was relaxed yet he was leaning in slightly, showing you that he was ready to listen to you. It was a silent way of encouraging you to speak, if you wanted to that is. Honestly, Dino just appreciated that he was with someone who seemed genuine rather than someone looking for a free meal or just to sneak off to the bedroom afterwards.
"So yes, this," you said, gesturing between the two of you. "is new to me. I've never gone on a date with a guy I matched from Tinder."
As if Dino's ego could grow anymore. You took a chance on him? You decided to try something new, to experience something different from your day-to-day all because you saw his profile? And that himself decided to take a risk and message you? Damn, he just won the damn lottery.
"But dating in general is new for me."
Woah, pause. You've never dated someone before? His eyes widened and jaw dropped slightly.
All you could do was sit there as began to panic. Oh no. Everything around you felt like it was coming tumbling down. And to make matters worse, the waitress showed up with your dinner plates. She set them down in front of the two of you respectful. The awkward tension literally being cut by the sound of sizzling meats from Dino's fajitas and the steam rising into the air.
"Let me know if you two need anything else!"
I need you to help me get out of this nightmare.
"Sorry," Dino said, clearing his throat. God, he felt awful. He could actually see the way your heart shattered at his reaction. And the thing was that he didn't even think it was a bad thing. He was just surprised because he was under the impression that everyone his age just dated around and that it was awful.
Time to do some damage control.
"I'm just surprised. I know it can't be because guys weren't throwing themselves at you. I mean, you are absolutely breathtaking," he vocalized. "But you really never have been on a first date? Ever?" "Never ever," you said, laughing nervously.
Now he felt the need just to get to know you, but also be protective of you. You truly were an angel in every sense to him.
The remainder of the date was smooth. It was as if disclosing your little secret helped you feel more relaxed. It also helped that Dino didn't come from a place of judgement. You did end up asking him what all he had experienced, and he admitted that it was quite a bit more.
But it seems like the thing you two were searching for was an authentic love connection. It was something Dino has gotten close to experiencing, but only scratched the surface of discovering.
Dino was the absolute gentleman during the date. He made sure you had enough water, that you were enjoying your meal, and that he even paid. That was something he wouldn't let you dispute. You weren't expecting it either, which also took Dino by surprised. He figured it was just first date etiquette that the man pays. Yet, you've heard too many horror stories from your roommates and TikToks were the guy doesn't even over to pay his half.
He even offered to drive you home. You were hesitant, for which Dino than at least offered to order you an Uber back to your apartment. But feeling guilty of him spending more money, you agreed to a ride back to your apartment. He allowed you to put in your address into the GPS before you relaxed in the passenger seat.
Never before did Dino think there was something special about a person riding passenger seat. Now, he wanted you always to be by his side in this sense. He loved glancing over whenever he rolled up to the stop sign or stopped at a red light that he could see you.
There indeed was something different about you, and Dino felt it. You were unlike any other woman he's been with as you seemed to want to invest in someone, to create something unique. You made him feel as though all those trials and tribulations of dating were all worth it if it meant it led all to you this whole time.
Coming up to your apartment, Dino parked the car. You raised an eyebrow as you watched him get out. It all clicked though when he walked around to open the passenger side door.
"You really are a gentleman, huh?" You said teasingly. "Hey, I'm just making sure you get to experience everything you've missed out on."
You smiled brightly at him before gently getting out of the passenger seat. And this time, you didn't hide your blushing cheeks. Dino loved knowing that he could elicit that type of reaction out of you, and he wanted to do it more often. Hopefully he's done enough to get you to consider a second date.
Once he made sure you were on the sidewalk and away from the door, he closed it. Slowly, he began walking you to the front door of your row house apartment. It was as if he didn't want the night to end. Neither did you.
"So," he began. "How was your very first date?" "It was everything I could have dreamed of and then some. Thank you for your kindness, Dino." "Anything for you, angel,' he confessed in a hushed tone.
Angel. I could get used to that.
Sooner than you two would like, you arrived at the steps of your apartment. Turning towards each other, you seemed like a lost for words. Especially you. What do you say to a guy that seems too good to be real? While you were hopeful he would want a second date, you wanted to be realistic. You couldn't fight the thoughts of your anxiety creeping in - what if he was only kind because he felt bad for you?
"I had a great time tonight, y/n," Dino began.
You were more than happy to let him take the lead on any sort of closing statement. Your racing heart and mind just was anticipating a 'but' to slip in.
"I don't want you to feel pressured to say yes to a second date. I know that there are a whirlwind of emotions that comes with any first date, let alone your very first one. All I'm saying is that I hope you consider seeing me again?"
The man in front of you was not the confident man you just had dinner with. He was biting his lip gently, his hands were in his pockets as he tried his damn best to keep eye contact with you. But, you could tell that he was anticipating a rejection.
Oh, how the tables have turned. Gently, you took a step towards Dino. His eyes widened slightly but he couldn't fight the smile on his face. Leaning up gently, you pressed your lips to his cheek lingeringly.
"And miss out on experiencing a second date? No way."

"can you see me? i'm waiting for the right time" "i can't read you but, if you want, the pleasure's all mine" "can you see me using everything to hold back?"
pairings: annabeth chase x fem!reader
warnings/tags: none. purely fluff. annabeth’s an oblivious yapper.
summary: you’re trying to kiss annabeth for the first time.
annabeth's room was a familiar haven, filled with blueprints, sketches, and the faint scent of her favorite lavender candles. she was in her element, sitting cross-legged on her bed with a massive blueprint spread out before her, detailing her grand plans for new cabins at camp half-blood.
"and this area here," she said, pointing excitedly, "will be perfect for hecate’s cabin. it’s close to the woods, which will be ideal for any magical work they want to do."
her voice was animated, her grey eyes shining with passion. you tried to keep up, really, you did. but your mind was elsewhere, fixated on the way her lips moved, the curve of her smile, the occasional brush of her curls against her cheek. you’d been best friends for what felt like forever, but recently, something had shifted. there was a tension, an unspoken longing between the two of you that neither of you had dared to address.
you shifted closer, your heart pounding. you placed your hand on her thigh, trying to convey your feelings through that simple touch. maybe then she’d realize how you felt.
she glanced down at your hand, then up at you with a soft smile. she took your hand in hers, squeezing it gently. "thanks for always being here," she said. "it means a lot."
you forced a smile, trying to hide your frustration. of course she thought you was just being supportive. her hand felt warm in yours, and you wanted so badly to pull her closer, to kiss her senseless. but you held back, not wanting to ruin the moment.
annabeth continued talking, her voice a soothing background melody. "and over here," she pointed again, "we can have a communal area for everyone to gather. it’ll symbolize unity among all the campers."
you nodded absently, your thoughts consumed by the way her lips formed each word. you leaned in slightly, your free hand inching up her thigh, desperate to feel more of her.
she turned to face you fully, your knees touching. "are you okay? you seem a bit distracted," she asked, concern lacing her tone.
you took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. "yeah, just... thinking about how amazing your plans are," you lied, your voice barely above a whisper.
she beamed at the compliment, her eyes softening. for a moment, you thought you saw something more in her gaze, something that mirrored your own feelings. but then she turned back to her blueprint, continuing her excited rambling.
you sighed internally, your heart aching. maybe she didn’t feel the same way. maybe this was all just wishful thinking on your part. but then, an idea struck you.
you reached out, your hand trembling slightly, and gently cupped her cheek. annabeth’s words faltered, her eyes widening in surprise. she looked at you, her breath catching.
"you talk too much," you said softly, a teasing smile playing on your lips. before she could respond, you leaned in and kissed her, pouring all of your pent-up longing and frustration into that single, passionate kiss.
for a heartbeat, time seemed to stop. then, to your immense relief, annabeth kissed you back, her hand came up to rest on yours, holding it against her cheek. when you finally pulled apart, both of you were breathless, your foreheads resting against each other.
"i’ve been wanting to do that for a while," she admitted, her voice a little shaky. "but i was too scared to make the first move."
you laughed softly, your heart swelling with joy. "me too. i guess we’re both a little clueless, huh?"
she smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "maybe, but we figured it out eventually."
you sat there, wrapped up in each other, the blueprint forgotten. in that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of you, and the realization that you’d finally taken that terrifying, wonderful leap.

@tiny-gay-satan tagging u cos u love this series xx
Y/n wiped down the counters at the diner as she sighed heavily. She was still mad at Jordan the other night. The memories of last night quickly flashed by in her brain, occupying it as she tried to focus. All she could think about was Rabbit and how she had a great time with him last night. She'd never had anything like that before with any other guy.
Suddenly, the bell above the door chimed as it opened. Y/n looked up to see Carly entering the diner with a warm smile on her face. She sat down at the barstool and looked at Y/n sympathetically.
“Hey girl. I heard about what happened last night.” Carly said.
“You did?” Y/n asked.
“Yeah, everyone knows about the little feud Jordan and your little lover boy got in.”
“Wait? Everyone knows about that?”
“Yup. I'm pretty sure Papa Doc's gang were talking about it too.”
“Tha Free World? I hate those guys…”
“I know right, they're all so arrogant and full of themselves.” Carly scrunched up her face in disgust.
“Also, Rabbit is not my ‘lover boy’.” Y/n started putting air quotes around the words ‘lover boy’. “We're just friends.”
“I know, I'm just teasing. Do you think Jordan and Rabbit will apologise?”
“I hope. I don't want them fighting over something stupid. I feel guilty.” Y/n frowned as she looked away from Carly.
“Hey, it’s not your fault. Their boys, they’re gonna be immature.” Carly reassured her.
Y/n chuckled softly. “Yeah, I guess. It’s just, they’re best friends. They’ve known each other since high school, I don’t wanna ruin anything between them.”
“Well, if it’s really bothering you, then why don’t you try helping them apologise?”
“How would I do that? I’d just make things worse.”
As Carly tried to think of something, the bell above the door chimed again as it opened. Y/n and Carly look to see Rabbit entering the diner. He immediately laid his eyes on Y/n and gave her a soft smile before approaching her. Carly quickly smirked at her friend before getting up to move elsewhere.
“I’ll give you and lover boy some time.” She teased with a playful wink before sitting down at a booth.
Before Y/n could say anything, Rabbit was already sitting at the bar stool. The first few seconds were just silence as they looked at each other with softened expressions.
“Hey.” Rabbit said, softly.
“Hey.”
“I think we should talk about last night.”
“Yeah…”
“Listen, I wanna apologise to your brother but he definitely doesn’t wanna talk to me right now.”
“I can help.”
“You can?”
“Yeah but before that, I just wanna say sorry-”
“Don’t apologise. It’s not your fault.”
“I know but-”
Rabbit placed his hand on top of Y/n’s as his gaze lessened. She could see a spark in his eyes as he gently smiled at her and moved his thumb against her hand gently and slowly. His hand felt baby-soft, completely in contrast to his rough exterior.
“It’s not your fault. Stop apologising.” He whispered.
“Okay,” Y/n whispered back softly. “I’ll stop.”
“Now, tell me. Do you have any ideas?”
The following 2 hours consisted of them talking out ideas to try and sneakily get Jordan and Rabbit to meet up without getting anything to go wrong. It was difficult when Y/n was constantly switching between cleaning tables, taking orders, serving food and then talking to Rabbit again. Carly would glance at them every moment or so with a knowing smirk as she sipped on her chocolate milkshake or took a bite from her burger or chips.
“Okay, well that works for me.” Rabbit said, concluding the conversation.
“Right then. I’ll see you later.” Y/n replied.
‘Yeah. See you.” With those final words, Rabbit left the diner.
Immediately, Carly got up from her booth and approached Y/n and smiled at her. “You two going on another date?” She teased.
“No. We have a plan on getting Jordan and Rabbit to apologise to each other.” Y/n replied with a stern look on her face that matched her tone perfectly.
“Okay, but are you gonna act like him reaching for your hand never happened?”
“What are you talking about?”
“You know what I’m talking about!” Carly exclaimed. “You’re saying you completely missed out the part when he put his hand on yours?!”
“Oh, that. Well-”
“Oh, it’s okay Y/n. It's not your fault. How about we go on another date and make out with each other?” Carly said in a high pitched voice, clearly mocking Rabbit.
“Lower your voice.” Y/n replied. “You’re acting like a child. He didn’t say any of that.”
“Then what did he say?”
“He just told me to stop apologising and that it wasn't my fault.”
“Yeah, same thing. Y/n, he's into you and so are you. Shoot your shot.”
“We're just friends Carly. And even if I did like him, I'd probably focus on getting him and Jordan to apologise before trying anything.”
Y/n got home after her exhausting shift and immediately threw herself onto the couch. Her back ached and her muscles felt utterly sore. Her ears were ringing and she had a killer headache too, not the best combination.
“You alright?” Jordan asked as he entered the room.
“No, not really. I'm so tired from work.” Y/n replied. “Shit, I left my purse at the diner.” She groaned in realisation. “Can we go get it?”
“You want me to drive you to the diner?” Jordan asked.
“Well it's bad enough you didn't want pick me up from my shift!” Y/n exclaimed. “Had to walk with aching legs back home now I can't even get a ride.” Y/n complained as she shuffled to get up.
“Okay, okay. I'll drop you off there.” Jordan insisted.
Y/n smirked to herself at how gullible Jordan was as she got in his car. She hadn't actually forgotten her purse. She was only lying to get Jordan to drive to the diner where Rabbit was waiting.
Jordan parked his car in front the diner and looked over at his sister. “Go in and get it.”
“Actually…” Y/n began.
“Jeez, what did you do now?”
“Nothing! You just need to get out of the car.”
Jordan groaned I'm frustration as he unbcukled his seatbelt and got out of the car aggressively. Y/n couldn't help but chuckle at her brother's antics as she got out of the car.
Instead of her gong inside to the diner, she went around the back to a dark alleyway. Jordan scrunched up his face in confusion as he watched his sister going completely off task.
“Hey! Where the hell are you going?” Jordan asked.
Y/n didn't respond as she simply just continued to walk down the alleyway. Jordan quickly ran after her in a panic.
“Y/n Y/l/n! Stop walking away from me!” He shouted after her, sounding just like a concerned mother.
When he entered the alleyway, all he could see was a dead end that chips of brick falling off and muddy graffiti. He soon became panicked when he realised his sister wasn't there.
“Y/n?” He called out.
“Jordan.” A voice said.
He turned around to see Y/n and Rabbit standing behind him. His sister had a stern expression and Rabbit looked nervous buy tried to cover it with a neutral expression.
“What the hell is he doing here?” Jordan asked, feeling a spike of anger.
“Jordan, calm down.” Y/n said.
“Don't tell me to calm down! You bought me out here for nothing?”
“Not for nothing.” Rabbit interrupted. “Listen, man. I'm sorry, okay? I know asking your sister to hang out with me before asking you was wrong. And I know I should've told you before hand. I just don't want this ruin our friendship, man.”
The air was thick with tension as Jordan only stared at Rabbit with an unreadable expression. “Man, I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have gotten mad.”
Rabbit smiled Jordan, feeling relieved at his response. “So we're good?”
“We're good.”
Jordan and Rabbit dapped each other up with their signature handshake before pulling each other into a hug. Y/n exhaled a sigh of relief she didn't realise she was holding. She was genuinely happy to see that her brother's friendship was mended.
“Hey, did you walk here? I didn't see your car at the car park.” Jordan asked.
“Nah man, I walked here.” Rabbit replied.
“Hey, I'll give you a ride home.”
“Nah man, it's fine.”
“Rabbit, no way you're walking home in this cold ass weather.”
“Alright, I'll come. Thanks man.”
During the car ride, Jordan and Rabbit were discussing the rap battle taking place next week on Friday. Y/n simply instead listened whilst looking out the window, watching as the houses and rundown buildings passed her eyes.
“You can drop me off here.” Rabbit said.
“Man, don't be stupid. I can drop you off at your home.” Jordan insisted.
“I know but-”
“Rabbit. I don't care about where you live. Y/n won't either. Don't be embarrassed.” He said as he continued driving.
Y/n looked over at Rabbit and gave him a soft smile, letting him know that what Jordan said was true and that he didn't have to worry. Rabbit smiled back, feeling reassured.
Jordan stopped in front of Rabbit's trailer and dapped him up before Rabbit got out of the car.
“Alright, I'll see you around man.” Jordan said as he rolled the window down.
“Yeah man, see you too.” Rabbit replied. “Oh, and Y/n. Lily asked if you could come over some time. She likes your company.”
Jordan turned to his sister and gave her a nod, letting her know she could go. Y/n smiled at her brother before looking back at Rabbit.
“Yeah, I can do that. How's tomorrow?” She asked.
“Tomorrow's good. 10 am?”
“Works for me.”
“Alright. I'll see you then. Goodnight you two.”
Jordan and Y/n bid Rabbit goodnight before they drove back home.
Y/n knocked on Rabbit's door and waited in anticipation. For some reason, she could feel a buzz of nervousness in her stomach making it's way around to the rest of her body. She didn't understand why she felt this way, she wasn't scared for all she knew.
The door opened to reveal Lily looking up at Y/n with glee through her adorable blonde bangs.
“Y/n!” She exclaimed before hugging her.
“Hey Lily.” Y/n replied with a wide smile on her face.
“Come in!”
Lily stepped aside for Y/n to enter. The place was pretty cramped but it had a cosy feel to it. Y/n spotted Rabbit making pancakes in the kitchen and she was a bit surprised to say the least.
He wasn't wearing one of those baggy hoodies she had only ever seen him in. Instead, he was wearing a white tank top that suited him perfectly. His arms were toned with muscles that looked incredibly hot. He wasn't wearing his beanie either, revealing his brown buzz cut. Rabbit put the last pancake on the plate then turned to smile at Y/n.
“Hey.” He said.
“Hey.” Y/n replied
“Did you have breakfast? I'm making pancakes.”
“I already ate at home.”
Rabbit nodded and kissed his teeth. “Uh, I should probably change this.” He said, looking down at his tank.
“Is it not hot?” Y/n blurted out. She could feel her cheeks burning up as the words left her mouth.
“It's November, Y/n.” Rabbit chuckled. “And of course you find it hot. You're wearing layers.” And by layers, he was referencing the shirt and baggy cardigan she was wearing.
Lily dragged Y/n over to the sofa and made her sit down. Lily took her little legs to the kitchen and took her plate of pancakes. She retreated to the sofa and placed the pancakes on her lap.
“When mum's not home, Jimmy let's me eat on the sofa and watch TV.” Lily giggled.
“He's a fun brother, huh?” Y/n asked.
“Yeah, I would've watched TV but I wanna talk to you.”
Y/n felt a cocoon of butterflies erupting in her heart as Lily said that. She smiled softly at her nodded. “I would love that.”
“Yay!” Lily cheered with a mouthful of pancakes. “So can we be friends?”
“Yeah, we can be friends.”
Lily giggled and continued talking to Y/n gleefully. Her brown eyes lighted up with excitement every time Y/n would answer some of her questions. She would continue to eat her pancakes as she listened carefully.
Rabbit came out of his room and leaned against the doorpost as he watched Y/n and Lily talking. Something about the way Y/n was soft and gentle with her tone when it came to talking to his sister made him feel something that he couldn't quite explain. He took his pancakes and sat with the girls on the couch.
“Jimmy's working on a new track and I think it's dope!” Lily said.
Rabbit chuckled and Lily's interesting word choice and ruffled her hair. “Thanks baby.”
“You should listen to it after we finish breakfast.” Lily said to Y/n.
“If it's okay with your brother.” Y/n said as she looked over at him with gentle smile.
“Yeah, why not?” He replied.
After breakfast, Rabbit bought Y/n into his and Lily's shared room. The girls sat on the bed whilst Rabbit sat on his chair and played the track.
If first started off with a few notes of the piano before it quickly changed to another beat, followed by Rabbit's voiced.
Yo, his palms are sweaty,
Knees weak,
Arms are heavy.
The lyrics played. Some parts of the song were left blank with no lyrics with only the beat playing.
“I left the parts I don't have lyrics for blank for now.” Rabbit explained.
“What do you think?” Lily asked.
“I like it. The beat’s nice. And your voice goes perfectly with it.” Y/n replied.
Rabbit smiled as he felt the tips of his ears heating up as they went pink. “Yeah, thanks.”
Time passed quickly as seconds struck like swift bolts of lightning. Rain pattered against the windows, making a calming rhythm of nature. The three of them were sitting around the table eating food Rabbit had prepared.
The warm food felt perfect against Y/n's tongue as her taste buds took in all the flavour, making a satisfying sensation for her. The scent of the food meandered through her nostrils, making her want to take more.
“You're a great cook, Rabbit.” Y/n complimented him.
“Thanks. But pancakes and lasagna are the only things I can make.” Rabbit replied.
“You can make sandwiches too!” Lily said, with little bits of sauce and cheese on the corners of the mouth.
“Anyone can make sandwiches.” Rabbit said as he took a napkin and cleaned the remnants of food off Lily's face.
“Can I?” Lily asked, her voice piqued with curiosity.
“Yeah, it's easy. 2 pieces of bread with some type of filling.”
The rest of the dinner was carried out by a comfortable silence and the sounds of cutlery clinking as they hit the plate. The silence was quickly disrupted when Rabbit's mum arrived home.
“Hey sweeties.” Stephanie said, greeting her children. She then saw Y/n sitting at the table, with a smile on her face. “Oh, Rabbit, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend.”
Embarrassment radiated off Y/n's face as her heat rose to her cheeks and to her ears, making her flustered.
“Ma, she's not my girlfriend. She's just a friend.” Rabbit groaned.
“Oh, sorry.” She apologised. “I'm Stephanie by the way.”
“I'm Y/n, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too. Say, you look quite familiar…”
“She's Jordan's sister.” Rabbit said.
“Oh, no wonder! You two look so alike!”
The four of them chatted with each other, catching up on highlights for the day before Stephanie decided to retreat to her room. They also eventually finished their dinner and Y/n insisted she could help with the washing up.
Rabbit helped tuck Lily into bed whilst Y/n watched from the doorstop, a soft look in her eyes. He sang a quiet and gentle song to his sister to help her sleep. His voice sounded like an angel, beautiful and pure. When Lily eventually drifted to sleep, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead before turning the lights off and leaving the room.
“You're a good brother, you know.” Y/n said as they both sat on the couch.
“Thanks. But sometimes it just feels like I'm not.”
“What makes you say that?”
“I just have this voice in my head that's telling me that she's growing up in a shitty trailer park because of me. That we're broke because of me. And I know it's my deadbeat dad to blame for, but I can't help that it's my fault. I want to give her the best. I can't do that.”
Y/n held Rabbit's hand, her fingertips grazing his silken hand as she traced every detail on it. She could feel her stomach twisting in nervousness as she did.
“Rabbit, you're a great brother. Lily looks so happy. Everytime I looked at her, she would always be smiling at you. She loves you Rabbit and she would definitely say that you're a great brother. And nothing is your fault, okay?”
Rabbit smiled softly as his grip on Y/n's hand tightened slightly. “Thanks. That means a lot.”
Y/n looked at the clock on the wall. She read as she realised that it was getting late. She immediately got up and dusted herself off. Some parts of her wanted to keep holding his hand.
“I need to go. It's getting late.” She said.
“I'll drop you off.” Rabbit offered.
“No, it's fine. I can walk.”
“No way. It's not safe for girls to walk here during this time of night.”
Y/n sighed “Fine.”
He grabbed his beanie and put it over his, then adjusted it slightly. He got his car keys as Y/n followed him out. They got in the car, feeling a wave or warmth hit their face, a complete contrast to the icy air outside.
The car ride had no exchange of words as quiet jazz music played from the radio. When they reached Y/n's house she took one last look at Rabbit and smiled.
“Thank you. I had a lot of fun.” She said, softly.
“Me too.”
Without any warning, she reached in for an embracing hug. A caring warmth radiated their bodies and they put their arms around each other.
“I'll see you.” Y/n said after she pulled away.
“Yeah, see you.”
She got out of the car and went inside as she heard Rabbit's car driving away. Jordan was still at work. After getting into bed, she softly smiled to herself as she rewound the core memories of today. She felt a bud of happiness blooming in her heart.
A/N: thinking about making this a mini series with 6-7 chapters. Chapters may be a little longer though.

After the Rain
Streamer AU Chapter 8 [?]
[1 of 6 ]
Tags Comfort, Heart to Heart talk, this is the start of the end.
Words: 2,4k
Authors Note: Sebastians Ending will be 3 chapters long and I use the other 3 chapters to write Painters story and end it. This is not beta read, slightly edited and I can't guarantee a good quality either
Everything happened in a blur. The kiss, the shock, the instinctive reaction to push Painter away as the unfamiliar taste of alcohol lingered on your lips. Painter's expression shifted, hurt but not surprised. His eyes held a sad, almost resigned smile as if he had known this was a mistake the moment it happened. He opened his mouth, maybe to apologize, maybe to say something to soften the blow, but you weren’t listening. Your focus was entirely on wiping the kiss from your lips, as if you could erase the strange, unwelcome feeling it left behind.
It would have been different with Sebastian, you told yourself. Because Painter wasn’t him. He never could be.
“I should leave.” You blurted out, your thoughts spinning as you took hurried steps back, distancing yourself from the moment. Painter didn't try to stop you, he just nodded, eyes downcast, accepting your decision without protest. In any other situation, he would have driven you home, placed his jacket over your shoulders, and kissed your cheek before wishing you a good night. But not now. He knew better. It was painfully clear who held your heart, and it wasn’t him.
You left as quickly as you had arrived, the door closing behind you with an awkward finality. Your mind was already elsewhere—on someone who was waiting for you. Desperately.
When you finally reached home, you stepped into the familiar warmth of your shared apartment. Sebastian was there, curled up on the couch, clinging to a box of Chinese takeout. The soft glow of the TV bathed the room in flickering light, playing a rerun of the drama you both had been binge-watching. His eyes flicked up to meet yours, and for a second, the food in his hands seemed forgotten, his mouth parting as if to say something.
But you were faster.
Without a word, you sat down beside him, leaving a small but respectful distance between you, the sound of rain pattering against the windows as the only backdrop. The space between you felt charged—heavy with unspoken words, emotions too raw to put into sentences. The flicker of the TV illuminated his face, casting soft shadows that accentuated the worry in his eyes. Yet, for now, neither of you said anything. You just sat there, together, letting the weight of the night fade into the quiet comfort of each other’s presence.
The silence between you and Sebastian stretched out, growing heavier by the second. You sat there, staring blankly at the television, but your mind was miles away. The rain hammered against the window, and the sound seemed to echo the unease settling in the room. You couldn’t ignore the weight of it—the way Sebastian had shifted beside you, how his usual warmth seemed distant tonight after all the drama.
You’d been acting strange yourself, and you knew it. But it was hard not to. Watching how Allison took over your life, the easy maipulated relationship she gave him, the casual touches you had to witness—everything built up inside you, twisting your stomach in knots. You weren’t the jealous type, or at least you never thought you were, but something about Sebastian always brought out emotions you struggled to control. Your noisy, annoying and grumpy roommate was actually none of that, you just tried to find a reason to deny your feelings.
And Sebastian had noticed.
He was quiet, too quiet, his eyes still fixed on you. You could feel him waiting, just waiting for you to say something, to explain the strange distance that had crept between you lately. But you couldn’t bring yourself to talk. Not yet. You were too tangled up in your own feelings to find the right words.
Sebastian shifted, leaning back against the couch, his fingers idly tapping against the now-empty takeout box. His gaze softened for a moment before he spoke, his voice low and calm, but with an edge of curiosity. “You’ve been… distant.” he started, almost casually, but you could tell he wasn’t just making small talk. “Did something happen?”
You bit your lip, debating whether to shrug it off or finally let the truth spill out. Your heart pounded, and you hated how transparent you felt under his gaze. There was no escaping it anymore.
“It’s nothing.” You said, trying to sound convincing, but your voice betrayed you. The tension was already too thick.
Sebastian let out a soft yet forced chuckle, but there was something knowing in his tone. “I know it's about us. We are meant to talk.” He paused, eyes narrowing slightly as he studied you, piecing together the clues. “Talk to me, Jelly.”
That hit too close to home. Your breath caught in your throat, and you shifted uncomfortably, cursing yourself for not being better at handling this. Of course he wanted to talk. Of course he would start sorting it out.
"Look." You began, your voice wavering slightly. “It’s just... a lot.”
And it really was. There was no clear way to start or end this mess, no single moment that felt worse than the other because it all blended together into one overwhelming blur. You replayed everything in your head, over and over. Allison had stolen so much from you—your identity, your crush, your dignity. And now, she’d even stolen your ability to think straight, leaving you caught in a whirlwind of confusion and frustration. It was like she had ripped pieces of your life away, one by one, until you barely recognized yourself anymore.
Sebastian’s expression shifted, something softer and more tender replacing the curiosity. His eyes searched yours, and you could see the realization settling in, as if a puzzle piece had finally clicked into place.
“You're still...” he said quietly, more a statement than a question. There was no judgment in his voice, just understanding. His hand moved from the box, reaching out to gently touch your arm, grounding you in the moment. “I didn’t realize…”
You lowered your gaze, feeling the heat of embarrassment creep up your neck. “I know it’s stupid. I should hate you so incredibly much and yet I can't help but look for you everywhere. I hate it so much to be so in love with you, Solace.”
A long, quiet pause stretched between you as Sebastian absorbed your words. When he finally spoke, his voice was warm, filled with a kind of gentle reassurance you hadn’t expected from him, but at the same time, it was indeed the way Solace would have dealed with this. “It’s not stupid. I didn’t know that’s what was bothering you because I was to blind to see over the lies.” He shifted closer, the space between you shrinking as he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. “But we have all the time in the world to make it right this time, only if you let me.”
You glanced up at him, your heart fluttering at the sincerity in his eyes.
"I only care about you." He continued, his thumb grazing your cheek in a soft, reassuring touch. "You’re the one I come home to, the one I want by my side. No one else matters."
The rain kept its steady rhythm against the window, a calming backdrop to the emotions swirling between you. For a brief moment, the tension seemed to ease, and warmth bloomed in the spaces that had once been filled with doubt. You could feel the truth in his words, his gaze holding that quiet certainty that you needed. It helped soothe the insecurities that had been gnawing at you for so long, even if they hadn’t fully disappeared.
But the uneasy feeling still lingered, like a shadow just out of sight. Things weren’t magically fixed, and deep down, you both knew it. Wounds like these didn’t heal overnight, no matter how much you wished they could. Allison’s betrayal, the confusion, the chaos—those scars still ached beneath the surface. But right now, in this moment, you felt something real between you and Sebastian. Something worth holding on to.
Sebastian leaned in, his lips brushing the top of your head in a gesture that felt both tender and protective. He rested there for a moment, as if silently promising that everything would be okay. "Next time," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, "Just tell me what you’re feeling. I don’t want you to ever doubt that I’m yours."
You closed your eyes, allowing yourself to sink into the warmth of his embrace, but the weight of everything that had happened still hung in the air. The hatred you had felt wasn’t completely gone, nor was the betrayal you had endured. They sat between you like fragile threads, ready to snap at the slightest tension. But for now, Sebastian was here, holding you, grounding you, and that was enough.
“I’ll try,” you whispered, voice barely audible. “It’s just... hard.”
He nodded against you, his arm tightening around your shoulders. "I know." He replied softly, his voice laced with understanding. "But we’ll figure it out. Together."
The tension wasn’t entirely gone, but it had shifted. It no longer felt suffocating, but instead like something you could face—one step at a time. You weren’t healed, not yet, but the small, reassuring presence of Sebastian at your side made the path ahead seem a little less daunting. You knew there would be more difficult moments, more conversations, but this was a start.
As the rain continued to fall, you leaned into him, and though the unease remained, there was a quiet hope that, in time, things would get better. Together, you’d mend the wounds, one fragile thread at a time.
The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the TV and the steady drumming of rain on the windows. You leaned into Sebastian’s warmth, but the lingering weight of everything unsaid pressed down on your chest. The Allison situation had driven a wedge between you two, and even though the tension had eased for now, you knew it wasn’t over. You couldn’t ignore it anymore.
You shifted slightly in Sebastian’s embrace, pulling back just enough to meet his gaze. His eyes softened when they met yours, but you could tell he sensed what was coming. His hand moved to gently cradle your face, thumb brushing over your cheek in that soothing way he always did when he knew something was on your mind.
“We should talk about it.” You finally said, your voice low, almost reluctant. “About Allison.”
Sebastian’s expression darkened, not with anger but with a kind of resigned understanding. He nodded, his fingers stilling on your cheek as his hand dropped to his lap. “Yeah... we should.”
You took a deep breath, gathering your thoughts before speaking again. “It’s just... everything she did. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. She stole my identity, my streaming account, tried to ruin everything I’ve worked for—and all because of this weird obsession with Solace.”
Sebastian’s jaw clenched at the mention of Allison’s name, but he remained quiet, letting you speak. You could see the tension in his posture, the way his body went rigid at the thought of her.
“She stole more than that, though.” You continued, your voice barely above a whisper. “She made me doubt myself. Doubt us. She twisted everything, and for a while, I didn’t know what to believe.”
Sebastian’s gaze softened again, the harsh lines of his face relaxing as he listened. “I hate that she did this to you.” He said quietly. “That she made you feel that way. I should’ve noticed sooner, should’ve done something to stop her before it got this far.”
“You couldn’t have known.” You said, shaking your head. “I didn’t even know. Not until it was too late.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “Still... it’s my fault for not seeing the signs. I didn’t realize how deep her jealousy went, how far she’d go to try and hurt you. I should’ve been there.”
You reached out, placing a hand on his arm, grounding him in the moment. “Sebastian, it’s not your fault. None of this is. Allison did what she did because of her own twisted reasons. You couldn’t have stopped her from being who she is.”
Sebastian’s eyes searched yours, guilt still lingering there despite your words. “But she hurt you. And I couldn’t protect you from that.”
You shook your head again, more firmly this time. “It all went well in the end.“
His gaze softened at that, and his hand found yours, squeezing gently. “I just... I hate that she made you feel like you weren’t enough. You’re everything to me.”
A lump formed in your throat at the sincerity in his voice. You’d felt so lost in the chaos of everything that had happened with Allison, but sitting here with Sebastian, hearing those words, made something inside you settle. The jealousy, the anger, the confusion—it was all still there, but it wasn’t as heavy now. Not with him by your side.
“I think... I was jealous.” you admitted, your voice barely audible. “Of how easily she manipulated everything, how confident she seemed. And then I saw how people looked at you. How they talk about Solace. It made me feel... small. What you and I had as Jelly and Solace was suddenly gone as, as if it slipped out of my hands.”
Sebastian’s brow furrowed, and he shook his head, disbelief in his eyes. “You’re not small. Don’t ever think that. None of them matter to me—not like you do. Solace is just an image, a mask I wear. You’re the only real thing in my life. The only thing that matters.”
Tears prickled the corners of your eyes, and you blinked them away, nodding slowly. “It’s just hard. She made me doubt everything. Made me wonder if I was enough for you. If I could ever really be... enough.”
Sebastian’s grip on your hand tightened, pulling you closer until your foreheads were almost touching. His voice was low, fierce, as he spoke. “You’re more than enough. You’re the only thing that feels real to me. Don’t let her—don’t let anyone—take that away from you.”
You closed your eyes, letting his words sink in. The pain that Allison had caused wouldn’t disappear overnight. You knew that. The scars were still there, raw and fresh. But with Sebastian beside you, you knew you could heal. It would take time—time to rebuild what had been broken, time to regain the confidence she had stolen—but you would get there. Together.
“I’ll try,” you whispered, resting your head against his shoulder. “I’ll try to believe that.”
Sebastian kissed the top of your head, his hand gently stroking your back. “We’ll get through this. I’m not going anywhere. And neither are you.”

-> Synopsis: On Halloween night, the city buzzed with costumed chaos, but Changbin’s focus was elsewhere—specifically, on a coffee shop offering free drinks for couples. The thought of cozying up in a warm, pumpkin-scented space, sipping hot drinks, was too tempting to resist. The only catch? He needed a date. And that’s where you came in.
➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶
You lounged in your dorm, scrolling aimlessly through your phone when Changbin appeared in the doorway, his black leather jacket fitting perfectly. The last rays of sunset caught his brown eyes, making them brighter than usual.
Earlier, he had barged in, complaining about how bored he was now that most of his childhood friends were back in his hometown while he was stuck here, finishing up midterm exams. You wondered how long it would be before he found something to occupy himself so you could get back to your peace and finish the book resting on your lap, waiting to be read.
“Hey, did you hear? There’s a coffee shop offering free drinks to couples on Halloween,” he said, trying to sound casual, though you could hear the challenge in his voice.
You glanced up, eyebrows furrowed. “On Halloween?”
“Yep, the one Minho always talks about,” he replied, pushing himself off the door frame with a grin. “Wanna go?”
A smile tugged at your lips as excitement bubbled up inside you. “So, you’re asking me to be your fake date for free coffee? How romantic.”
He shrugged playfully. “Come on, who can resist free caffeinated drinks and the chance to call themselves my girlfriend for a night?”
“Why don’t you take your next one-night stand there?” you teased.
“Because I want to go with you,” he said, licking his lips in that effortlessly charming way before adding, “why? Afraid you'll catch feelings, Y/N?”
You stared at him. “You wish,” you replied, tossing your book on the couch. “Let’s go.”
You weren’t sure if it was the promise of the night ahead or the way Changbin smiled at you, but you slipped into your jacket, shaking your head as you tried to hide your grin. “What I wouldn’t do for a pumpkin latte.”
The humid and chilly air nipped at your face as you walked the already crowded streets, where there were decorations at every store. Some people were in costumes with excited smiles, while others looked just tired from the workday.
You glanced sideways at Changbin, noting how the streetlights cast shadows across his face. He wore his glasses, looking heartbreakingly handsome in them.
“What?” he asked, catching you staring.
“Nothing,” you replied quickly. “I was just thinking... wasn’t one of your friends working at that coffee shop?”
Changbin smirked. “Hyunjin. I bet it was his idea—the discount for couples on fucking Halloween.”
You stopped, glaring at him. “Changbin.”
“What?” he asked, looking clueless.
“He’s not going to believe us! When was the last time you even dated anyone seriously?”
His eyes sparked with a hint of hurt. “You’re different,” he replied softly.
“How am I different?” you asked, already mourning the possibility of free lattes slipping away.
“We slept together once, and we’ve stayed friends since then. Who’s to say it couldn’t happen?”
Your heart pounded as his words hung in the air. Memories of a shared summer night came flooding back, and you felt warmth creeping up your neck.
The first time you met Changbin was on the last day of summer at a party in the countryside house of one of Chris’s childhood friends, Hyunjin.
You were in the kitchen, drinking with Chris and a few of his friends when he said, “Ask Changbin out already. Your crush on him is painfully obvious, and he can’t stop looking at you.”
“I don’t even know him. It’s not a crush; he’s just... really hot.”
You’d been eyeing Changbin since you arrived. He was one of the most attractive guys you’d ever met, and the way he naturally drew attention captivated you. He was just your type.
Once you finally gave in to Chris’s nudges and approached Changbin, everything fell into place. You greeted him, and the way he whispered his name in your ear left you breathless. The conversation was just an excuse for you to say, “Want to go outside for some air?”
It didn’t take long before you were making out with him, his kisses somehow feeling like both an eternity and a heartbeat, leaving you craving more. He fucked you against Hyunjin’s wine cellar door like his life depended on it.
You thought that would be the first and last time you’d see him. You never kept track of the names of guys you hooked up with; however, Changbin’s name, face, voice, and taste didn’t leave your mind.
It was a pleasant surprise when you found out, on your first day of classes, that he would be your calculus tutor for the semester.
Even better, you knew you were terrible at calculus, which is how you became friends
He recognized you immediately, but he never mentioned that summer night, and you pretended nothing had happened. You told yourself it was better that way.
“What do you mean by that?” you asked.
He moved closer, wrapping an arm around your waist, his face just inches from yours. “I mean we have good chemistry. We just need to pretend. He’ll believe it.”
Whatever was blossoming in your chest vanished just as quickly.
“You’re impossible,” you muttered.
He grinned, his voice low and teasing. “Think of pumpkin spice lattes. I know you love them.”
Your resolve wavered as you met his gaze. “Fine. But if he doesn’t buy it, you’re paying for the drinks.”
He chuckled, pulling you close and saying, “That’s my girl.” His tone was playful, but the way he said it made your heart skip a beat.
The coffee shop was warm, decorated with autumn leaves, grinning jack-o'-lanterns, and twinkling fairy lights casting a cozy, golden glow over everything. The scent of freshly brewed coffee, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice filled the air as you stepped inside.
Hyunjin stood behind the counter, surrounded by a small group of giggling girls. When the doorbell chimed, he looked up, his eyes landing on the two of you.
“Well, well, what brings you two here?” Hyunjin asked, a sly grin spreading across his face.
“Free pumpkin spice lattes and two cinnamon rolls,” you replied confidently, looping your arm through Changbin’s.
“And a slice of cheesecake,” Changbin added with a smirk, fully leaning into the act.
Hyunjin’s eyebrows lifted slightly. "Drinks are only free for couples."
You smiled, leaning into Changbin and resting your head on his shoulder. “We are a couple,” you said in a sweet tone.
Changbin wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you closer. “See?”
Hyunjin’s eyes narrowed, but his grin didn’t fade. "You two? A couple? Please. We all know neither of you do relationships.”
Changbin sighed, though there was a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, there’s a first time for everything."
"Uh-huh." Hyunjin folded his arms. "If you were really dating, you’d have told me ages ago. I’m not buying it."
When your stomach grumbled, you got tired of the banter.
Changbin didn’t have a chance to respond before you grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into a kiss. For a second, he froze, but then he melted into it, his hand finding your waist as he pulled you close. His lips moved against yours, warm and soft, his tongue teasing yours just enough to send a shiver down your spine. When you finally pulled back, you glared at Hyunjin.
“Are you done, or should we keep going?” you challenged.
Hyunjin’s cheeks flushed, and he cleared his throat. “Drinks on the house.”
You chuckled, glancing up at Changbin’s wide-eyed expression. “Told you he’d buy it,” you whispered as you moved to find a seat.
But as you settled into a booth, you couldn’t help but scream internally, What the hell did I just do?
You snuck glances at Changbin, who was still processing what had happened, his eyes fixed on you. It made you wonder what he was thinking.
The coffee shop filled up quickly. You and Changbin settled into a corner booth, the pumpkin spice latte warming your hands, the cinnamon rolls long gone, and a slice of cheesecake placed between you. You took turns, sharing bites.
You couldn’t stop stealing glances at his lips. The ones I’d just kissed.
“So, girlfriend,” Changbin said with a teasing smirk, “was the kiss worth it?”
Your breath almost hitched. Had he noticed you staring?
You rolled your eyes, pretending to be nonchalant, but couldn’t hide your smile, especially when you remembered the sweet taste of it. “Worth it. We should do this more often.”
“Kissing?”
“Of course not,” you shot back, clicking your tongue. “Getting free drinks, I mean.”
“Are you admitting we have good chemistry?” he asked, leaning closer, his voice dropping an octave.
“I never said we didn’t,” you replied, leaning in. “Besides, I think we’re really good at pretending.”
His eyes locked onto yours. “Oh, and are we still pretending?”
You stuffed a piece of cheesecake into your mouth to avoid his gaze, looking at anything but him. The golden writing on the walls that read “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul…”, a little boy with a whipped-cream mustache laughing as his dad took a photo, two older women sharing a kiss in the opposite corner, and a girl dressed as a witch slipping her number into Hyunjin’s apron pocket. Hyunjin caught your eye, raising an eyebrow.
You leaned closer to Changbin and whispered, “Hyunjin’s watching.” Changbin glanced around and then leaned in closer.
His arm settled around your seat, his hand gently brushing your shoulder. Your eyes met, and you were so close, you could smell his cologne. His fingers traced up to your ear, grazing it softly, sending goosebumps down your arms.
That slight, turned-down smile appeared on his lips—the one you loved seeing—and your stomach flipped.
“Want to kiss me again, Y/N?”
“I think that’s enough PDA for one day.”
He leaned in with a teasing pout and whispered close to your ear, 'No fun,' and you swore you melted right there. Before things could escalate further, you turned to see Hyunjin, who was busy taking an order from a group of students.
“I would like my girlfriend’s eyes on me.”
You looked back, amused. “What are you doing?”
“Just playing along.”
But it didn’t feel like that at all. Not with the way he was looking at you, his voice a low rasp that made it harder to breathe. The air between you crackled with tension, and your heart raced. You could feel the warmth radiating from him, with the scent of coffee and cinnamon mixing in the air. His gaze was so intense, and you wondered if he could sense the shift between you—how every moment felt charged with something neither of you dared to name, yet.
“So, is this where we say we’re in love, or what?” you joked, attempting to lighten the mood, but your voice wavered slightly.
He only chuckled, pulling back and finishing the last bite of cheesecake; you noticed his ears had turned red.
When you finally headed outside, the sun had set, and the streets were bustling. The time had flown by; you wished you’d lingered over your food, stretching out the evening. You’d gone out with Changbin countless times for tutoring sessions at coffee shops, libraries, and parks, but none had ever felt quite like this. Maybe it was the kiss. You couldn’t shake the feel of his lips from your mind. It had been so long since you last kissed him; you hadn’t realized how much you craved it until today.
“So… do you want to head back?” he asked softly, curious.
You paused, wanting to keep this, whatever it was, going just a bit longer. A smile tugged at your lips. “I heard they’re doing an outdoor movie screening in the park.”
Changbin grinned, extending his arm in a mock-gentlemanly gesture. “Lead the way, sweetheart.”
You couldn’t help but laugh as you looped your arm through his.
The outdoor screening of a classic Halloween movie was right in the heart of the park. The place was softly lit with lanterns, scattered decorations, and couples wrapped in blankets dotted the lawn. You found a spot in the crowd, and Changbin spread out a blanket that the staff were giving as the movie started.
You didn’t even know which movie was playing; you weren’t a fan of horror movies, but it was always fun to watch with someone else, especially if they were easily scared, like Changbin.
As the movie went on, you felt the tension grow between you two. You couldn’t stop glancing at him, wanting to hear his voice and his laugh.
When you shivered—more from nerves than the cold—he draped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer.
“You know you don’t need to pretend here, right?” You said.
He smirked, coming close enough that his nose nearly touched the part of your neck that always made you shiver. His lips brushed your ear as he whispered, “I know.”
You turned to look at him.
Everything felt different. You’d never felt like this before. You could barely look him in the eyes without turning into a complete mess; your heart raced, heat spread through your entire body, and it felt as if the words wouldn’t come out of your mouth.
Would it be so wrong to lean in? To give in to the pull?
There was an understanding between the two of you without words. You were just friends. Neither of you was ready for a relationship. Changbin had told you before that he had a lot on his mind with his internship and university. He was always conscious of boundaries and never crossed that line with you. He was always conscious of boundaries and never crossed that line with you. Meanwhile, you had to study harder than anyone else just to get an average score on exams and assignments. There was simply no time for relationships, even if you wanted one.
So why was he acting differently now? Too flirty, too touchy, too caring. And why were you falling for it?
You tried to mask the heat in your gaze with a smirk.
“You’re not scared, are you?”
He chuckled, the sound low and rich. “Of a classic horror movie? Please.”
“Oh, I don’t know, Changbin. You seem like the type to jump at—”
A loud jump-scare blared from the screen, and you yelped, instinctively grabbing his arm. He laughed, pulling you even closer, your faces now just inches apart. For a moment, time stood still, and the world around you faded away. His eyes darkened, and you wondered if he might close the gap between you. Your breath caught in your throat, your lips parting as you waited. But then he pulled back slightly, the tension heavy between you.
“You okay?” he asked softly.
“Yeah,” you whispered, though your heart pounded against your chest. “I’m fine.”
His eyes flicked down to your lips, then back up to meet your gaze. “You sure?”
No, actually. I’d feel better if I could feel your lips on mine again.
You wanted to shake him and demand to know why he was holding back if he felt the same way. Instead, you swallowed the urge and forced a smile.
“Positive.”
But the way he held your gaze, the slight tightening of his fingers on your shoulder—it was as if he knew exactly what he was doing to you.
As the movie ended, you both walked back toward your apartment. The night had grown colder, but you didn’t mind—it made you even more aware of how close Changbin was. You found yourself dragging your feet, not quite ready for the night to end. You only realized you’d stopped walking when he glanced over his shoulder, an eyebrow raised.
“What’s wrong?”
You hesitated. What could you possibly say?
Today had left you confused. For months, he’d acted like nothing would ever happen between you two, but tonight... Did you read it all wrong? You weren’t sure how to tell him you didn’t want the night to end—that maybe you wanted more than just tonight. But what would he think if you said that? What if it made things awkward and ended your friendship? You swallowed the thought.
You couldn’t say that.
“Nothing.”
But his expression shifted, a knowing look crossing his face as if he could read the unsaid words hanging between you. You recognized that look in his eyes. He’d looked at you like that more than once—especially the night he fucked you. Did he want more as well? And if he wanted it, should you spend the night with him, just one more time? Be one more of each other's one-night stands?
“Right,” he said teasingly, though there was a warmth in his tone that felt different. “You sure? Because it looks like you’ve got something on your mind.”
Was it a mistake to try again? Tonight was perfect. You didn’t want to ruin it by acting on something you might regret tomorrow. Part of you knew that if you indulged in whatever was happening between you two, it would only be for tonight. By morning, he might let you go, and you weren’t sure you were ready to face those feelings again.
You opened your mouth, but no words came out.
The moment stretched, and he stepped closer; you could feel his breath brushing against your skin, intoxicating and warm.
“I just—” But before you could finish, he reached out, tucking a stray hair behind your ear, his fingers lingering a moment too long.
“You just…?”
“Don’t want to go home yet," you said.
“Oh.” He paused, studying you for a moment. His gaze lingered on your lips before meeting your eyes. “Wanna crash at my place instead?”
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise.
Should you go? See where things led? What was the worst that could happen? Catching unrequited feelings.
Were you willing to risk it?
“If you don’t want to, it’s cool—”
“I do,” you interrupted, the words rushing out before you could stop them. “Let’s go.”
The warmth of Changbin's place enveloped you instantly as you stepped inside, filling the air with the familiar scent of laundry. It was enough for two and cozy, thanks to his roommate.
“Seungmin’s not here,” he said, his voice low.
You wandered over to the window showing the city nightscape. You’d always loved the view from Changbin’s apartment. You remembered the night before finals, the two of you cramming by that very window, papers scattered everywhere on the floor as you studied together.
You smiled, arching a brow as you turned back to him. “So that’s why you invited me, huh? Don’t want to be lonely tonight?”
He snorted, walking over to wrap his arms around you. Changbin wasn’t shy about showing affection, but this time, it felt different, and you felt your whole body tingle under his embrace. “Maybe I just wanted my girlfriend around a little longer.”
“Are you sure? What if things change?”
His hands guided you to face him, one hand resting on your waist. “It’s a risk, for better or worse.”
“And you’re willing to take it?” you asked softly.
He lifted your chin, meeting your gaze. “Only if you are.”
A rush of adrenaline surged through you. You didn’t stand a chance; there was no way you could say no to him. It was a pull that always kept you gravitating toward him until you collided. Fear of the unknown, of getting attached to something that might not last—all of it faded when you locked eyes with Changbin. The need for him was stronger than any fear.
Fuck it.
You leaned up and captured his lips, fingers tangling in his hair as he pulled you closer, deepening the kiss, molding his lips to yours with a quiet urgency that made your stomach drop as if you were riding a rollercoaster. It was all you could think about. His strong arms locked around your body, and you melted in his embrace.
It felt like everything you’d wanted and more—exhilarating, and undeniably worth it.
You let a moan escape at the feeling of his tongue on your lips before he kissed you again. He groaned, his palm tightening at the back of your neck, while his other hand slid down your side.
“Why haven't we done this before?” he asked, his hand reaching the outer part of your thigh, giving your ass a firm squeeze through your jeans, making you wish you had worn a dress.
You couldn't even answer with the way his lips found your throat. His lips trailed down to your collarbone, fingers sneaking under your shirt. His hands were cold, and you shivered as they moved higher until they slipped beneath your bra. He gave your breast a gentle squeeze, and your hands clenched against his shoulders when he pinched your nipples.
Your fingers locked in his hair, pulling him closer as you kissed him harder. He pressed you against the wall, bruising your lips, and your hands flew to his neck. You gasped when his hips pressed harder against you, and you felt the thick length of his cock gliding along your skin.
You pushed away from him enough to say, “Are you sure? Because once I start, I don’t think I can stop.”
“There’s no reason to stop, sweetheart,” he replied in a low voice that made your heart race and your underwear wet.
Without breaking eye contact, your hand slipped down from his neck to his waist, pausing at the waistband of his underwear. You could feel his hardness trapped behind the fabric, and he exhaled sharply as your fingers closed around him. Pre-cum already glistened on the head of his cock, and when you dragged your thumb over it, he let out a soft groan.
Changbin kissed you slowly and gently at first, then deepened the kiss into a frantic, desperate swirl of tongues.
You pulled down his pants, freeing his cock, and quickened your strokes, feeling him swell beneath your grip as his hips moved in rhythm with your hands. He kissed you messily, hungrily, along your jawline, biting at your neck with every movement of your hand, hardening further under your touch, until he couldn’t stand it anymore.
“Couch, Y/n.” He scooted back and grabbed your hand.
He led you to the couch, gently pushing you onto it, his eyes devouring the sight of your body sprawled out before him as he knelt between your legs. His lips found yours, Changbin’s hand moving along your inner thighs, higher and higher.
He helped you take off your shirt, and you silently thanked yourself for wearing decent new underwear and a matching bra. He unclasped your jeans and yanked them down along with your underwear.
Spreading your legs, he muttered, “Fuck, sweetheart.” He gently parted your pussy, drawing slow, deliberate circles on your clit, letting you soak by the second.
“Changbin, please,” you begged, your body burning beneath his touch, his gaze glazed with desire.
“I missed you being this needy for me,” he said, making your core clench at his words.
Your back arched as Changbin lowered his mouth, kissing the skin of your inner thigh and then moving upward, inch by inch, drawing a sharp breath once his lips found your pussy.. He brushed it lightly before taunting you with languid kisses that left you trembling. You curled your fingers into his hair, your hips shifting at each stroke.
You bit back a cry when his tongue slid across your slit. He licked and teased your clit; his kisses lingering whenever he drew a moan from you, but never for too long. You tightened your grip in his hair as the pressure coiled inside you, begging for release. It came when his eyes met yours, drunk with lust, sending you over the edge. You arched into him as pleasure crashed into you, waves leaving you breathless. But you didn’t want it to end—you needed more of him..
“Binnie, please, fuck me,” you whispered, your hands finding his cheeks as you looked at him. “I need you.”
His eyes widened before he gave that smirk that made your heart race.
He crashed his lips to yours, wrapping a fist around his cock and angling it down to drag the head over your clit, wetting himself with your arousal.
“Hands above your head,” he instructed, shifting forward and pressing you against the couch.
You gasped as he moved his hips, rubbing the full length of his cock against your clit. Your desperation grew with each slow thrust of his length against you.
As if sensing your pleading, he hooked one arm under your thigh, spreading you wider as he angled himself. Your hips sank lower as the head of his cock nudged your entrance. Then he seized your hips and thrust inside you.
You could only whimper in response, your pussy making a squelching sound around his length. He thrust into you shamelessly, noisily, moans bursting from your lips with every movement of his hips, until you couldn’t hold back anymore and came.
Butterflies stormed in your belly as Changbin’s hips bucked compulsively, and he came, gasping and groaning.
You felt your body grow heavy as Changbin withdrew and kissed you softly. He disappeared into the bathroom, then returned wearing shorts, holding a clean shirt for you and a towel to help you clean up.
After everything, you lay with your head on his lap, exhaustion and euphoria filling you. His hand gently caressed your arm, and you looked up at him with a soft smile.
“We should really keep doing this couple discount thing,” you teased.
He smirked, a glint in his eyes. “Like me being your boyfriend?”
You met his gaze, and the words rushed out, “What if I like it?”
His fingers brushed your cheek as he whispered, “Then maybe we should stop pretending.”
Hope bloomed in your chest, and you couldn’t help but smile. “Should we?”

Hello, friends!
I hope everyone has enjoyed the early access to 7KPP! Now that we've had a few months to play around and try out many MANY branches in the game (and Mod Tina has had some time to recover from finishing her graduate degree), it's time for 7KPP Week!
As a reminder, and for any newcomers to the fandom, 7KPP Week is basically a week of short prompts that we the mods come up with, intended as an opportunity to inspire and share fanworks that showcase our love for the game. Any types of fanworks are welcome, from fanart or fanfiction to meta, playlists, or just long rambles about your thoughts! We're all just here to spread our love and positivity!
Note: As the game has been out for several months now, spoiler content is perfectly welcome, and indeed encouraged in some of the prompts, and some prompts may include spoilers! Please be aware if you wish to participate or spectate!
So, without further ado, the details!
When: Between October 20 and October 26! Where: Post on tumblr (and elsewhere is fine too but we’ll be organizing here on tumblr)
The prompts are as follows! (Since some of these are rather vague, there are some more details and some questions that might help inspire you under the cut!)
Day One - Background (Remix) Day Two - Date Night Day Three - Letters Day Four - Angst Week (Turnabout) Day Five - Secrets Day Six - Suitcase Day Seven - Epilogue
Feel free to use the tag “7KPP Week 2024“ and/or mention this blog, and we’ll do our best to reblog everything!
As always, please feel free to send an ask/DM me if you have any questions! We look forward to seeing everyone’s submissions, and hope that you have a great autumn!
-Mod Tina
Day 1 - Background (Remix)
What is your character's background and why did you pick it? How do they feel about it? If you've talked about this before, you can instead consider the following: Have you considered using an existing MC for one of the secret backgrounds? Is there another background you think might be interesting for your MC? Elements of another background you could incorporate into them for an AU?
Day 2 - Date Night
If your MC had a friendship date (or a real one), what would it be? How would it play out? Who would they invite? What stat(s) would it raise? What would the achievement for success be named?
Day Three - Letters
Over the course of the game, we received letters written from loved ones of both our characters and our LIs. Who would send the LI a letter on behalf of your MC? What would it say?
Day Four - Angst Week (Turnabout)
Let's share in the angst of week 5! If your LI had a near-death experience during the courting phase, how would your MC react? Alternatively, did your MC ever consider breaking things off? If so, why?
Day Five - Secrets
If your MC had a discoverable secret at the Summit for other characters to find, what would it be? Would it be a chain? Something that is needed to get to know them? Is it blackmail material?
Day Six - Suitcase
Does your MC bring any non-essentials with them to the Summit? What do they take home with them afterwards?
Day Seven - Epilogue
We got glimpses of what the ending looked like for your character post-Summit. Are there any other scenes you have in your mind's eye? Anything that you would change? What does life look like for your characters after the end?

True Courage.
Masterlist of fan fiction
Fandom: The Hobbit
Pairings: Thorin Oakenshield x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Sexual harassment, fluff, mutual pining
Comments/Notes: From the imagine, "Thorin takes a stand for you when a lecherous man won't take no for an answer and keeps bothering you."
This fic touches on a bit of a nerve, as something similar happened to me a few weeks ago when travelling home; so why not put my experience to a good use and make a fic out of it? However, I hope you like the fic. As always, like, reblog and comment if you enjoy. If you wish to be added to any of my tag lists, let me know.
Your stomach lurched and you recoiled as the man took your hand in his. "You are very beautiful," he grinned, staring at you.
It had started off with you being polite, listening to the man talk about his life, and eventually his wife. Then he started nudging closer, his body almost right upon you. You had looked around for any sign of someone who may help you escape. But all the residents of Lake-town were too busy in their own conversations or inebriated. The Company seemed to have disappeared and you could not see anyone you recognised in the sea of heads swarming around you in the Master's main hall.
The man kept trying to catch your gaze as you averted it elsewhere, completely sickened by him. His continued chattering away, but your mind was ablaze, contemplating an escape. The feeling of his hand on you made you feel dirty, defiled.
Across the room and Thorin had a clear view of you. A man who looked easily old enough to be your father was sat beside you, his hand resting on your thigh. Thorin grit his teeth and moved through the crowd toward you, having to shove a few bodies away.
"How about a kiss?" the man asked you, his breath almost upon you.
You shoved his hand away and shifted further out of your seat.
"How dare you!" an angry voice came. "You will leave her, unless you wish to be spitting your teeth out upon the floor."
"Thorin?" you whispered, looking up. His face was livid and fierce. You had never seen Thorin so fired up; his eyes were dark and his teeth were bared.
In your embarrassment, you got up and dashed from the scene. Tears were welling in your eyes as you raced out into the cold air outside. Your whole body was shaking, and sobs suddenly overcame you, uncontrollable. It may have been almost winter with a flurry of snow on the air, but you still felt as though your whole body was on fire. Anxiety and adrenaline raged through your veins. The fight or flight response had been activated, only a little too late. It would have aided you better when you were sat with the hideous man.
"Are you alright?" a voice came from behind.
Jumping, you turned around to see Thorin behind you. Instantly you threw yourself at him, finally feeling safe. "I'm sorry," you sobbed on him.
"Shhh," he cooed into ear, brushing his fingers through your hair. "You are safe." Thorin's heart thundered in his chest, both at the feel of you in his arms, but also at the feeling of you shaking. His chest was full of both love and anger, intense and all consuming. How dare someone touch you against your will. How dare someone reduce you to a sobbing mess like this!
You looked up at Thorin, his arms still around you. You were safe here against him. Looking at his face, his expression soft but also full of concern, began to wash away the edge of your fear. It re-formed your crumbled composure, mending the pieces of a broken confidence.
Thorin cupped your cheek and his thumb dried the tears which were glistening on your reddened skin. "No one will harm you, I promise."
Ever since first meeting Thorin six months previously, at the beginning of the quest to re-take Erebor, and you trusted him. There was something in his eyes; a steadfast resolve and a deep-seated sense of honour.
Thorin couldn't take his eyes from your gaze. Having your skin against his made his breath hitch. You were beautiful, and since the moment he met you, he felt as if you were a special, one of a kind flower which he didn't dare touch. He hadn't dared touch out of a fear of offending you. But now that need to be in contact with you was too much. Cradling you had made his heart swell.
Feeling Thorin's touch was something you had imagined far too many times, and now that it was a reality, it was a softer touch than any fantasy had ever allowed you to experience. However, the more he gazed at you, shame entered your heart. "I'm sorry that I'm not brave like you."
"No..." Thorin began.
Your head turned to the side, twisting from his touch.
"No..." he whispered again, sadly. "Never say that."
Tears welled again. "I'm a coward. I froze. I'm ashamed."
"Never be ashamed," Thorin told you, his voice somehow deeper. "Do you understand me? You have nothing to be ashamed of. Absolutely nothing!" Anger dripped from his tone. "He violated your intimate space. No one has the right to do that. No one. And freezing is natural."
"I've never seen you freeze."
"Do not compare yourself to me. My reactions are learned, after years of experience."
If there was one thing that Thorin had always been drawn to, and it was your innocence. In your innocence of being polite and kind, you had entertained the lecherous man for a short while. Thorin, on the other hand, was hardened off to a polite and kind demeanour. You were open to people, welcoming. Thorin was shut off. Now, who was the brave one?
"Bravery isn't only found in battles," Thorin told you, stepping back from you. "It's seen in allowing yourself to be vulnerable and opening your heart to others. You have a courage that I could only dream to have, dear one. I walk into battle, ready to face the pain of a sword in my flesh. But you are ready to face the pain of a broken heart through being vulnerable in someone else's sight. That is true courage."
"That's not courage. That's just being too trusting and being ridiculous," you hissed.
Thorin smiled and then took your hand, kissing it. "You dare to trust. You have no idea how courageous that is. I wish I had a heart such as yours."
A wave of anticipation washed over you and you sighed. "In that case, this is me being brave. You do not need to wish for a heart such as mine, as you already have it. You've always had my heart, Thorin."
Thorin exhaled loudly, smiling, and cupped your cheek again. Then took your lips in a kiss, his beard tickling you. The heat rose and your kiss deepened.
As your kiss ended, Thorin pressed his forehead to yours. "My love," he whispered. "My brave love."

My Little Shadow: Part seven (Azriel x Reader)
Warnings: Not really any, just Y/N having a deep mistrust of the inner circle.
Part six
Part eight
After walking through Velaris with Azriel, the highlord and highlady have some questions...
Tag list: @mis-lil-red @bubybubsters
“So, what do you think?” Azriel asked again. I hadn’t registered his question the first time, too overwhelmed with the beautiful city I was now in.
“It’s wonderful.” I speak softly, and I wonder if he would ever hear me over the sounds of people talking. Females laughing, and children shrieking with joy.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such unrestrained happiness like this, it has always been too dangerous.
This though…
I kept wandering through the streets, staring into different shop windows and walking through the crowds of happy people. I wished I could join in with some of the females, talking and laughing.
I clenched my fists, trying to stay in the moment.
“How has this place not been found?” I ask Azriel, who’s watching me with that classic blank stare. I had to learn how to do that.
“It’s a mixture of knowing who to trust with it’s secret, and centuries of powerful spells bound to this place. Anyone not welcome who get close, will find themselves wanting to leave and go elsewhere.” He said, smiling a little bit as a little girl walked up to him, giving him a flower.
He took it, smiling back at the little girl as she giggled, running off once more into the crowd.
I watched him for a moment longer, twirling the white lilly between his scarred fingers. I realize that I hadn’t noticed those swirling scars before, which seems strange.
As I start to look up, I meet his eyes.
Shit.
He stands up to his full height, and I stiffen, not knowing what he’s going to do. “I- I’m sorry- I didn’t mean to stare, I was just curious-”
I try not to start crying. I finally found someone who I could trust, and I already fucked it up. He was going to drag me back or just leave me here now, I could already see it.
His eyes softened as he saw me draw back. “I’m not upset.”
I froze, taking deep calming breaths as I nodded. “Oh… Uh, okay.” I said, suddenly awkward. I didn’t know what to do in this situation.
I could see him thinking about something, then he seemingly came to a decision because he held out his hands for me to examine.
Reaching out slowly, as to give him the opportunity to draw back if he wished. And when he doesn’t, I take his hand in mine, tracing the patterns gently.
His scars are so beautiful, much like him.
I had changed back at the house, Azriel insisting I get out of that ridiculous wedding dress before heading outside.
I had chosen a long sleeve shirt and skirt that barely showed my feet. I wondered what he would think of my scars, if he would see that they had a story behind them, just like his.
I dropped his hand after a minute. “Thank you.”
He seems a bit surprised. “Are you not going to ask?”
I shake my head, knowing what he's asking. “If you want to tell me, I’m okay with that, but I already can tell this isn’t something you tell everyone.”
He’s speechless, his mouth slightly open as he looked down at me with such curiosity I had to try not to blush.
“So this is our new shadowsinger.” An elegant and silky voice says from behind me, and I can’t help but to stiffen up as I whirl around.
It’s the highlord.
But he doesn’t have his usual terrifying presence. No, instead of the sharp, dark cloth the usually adorns his toned figure, he wore a light shirt with brown pants, his high lady next to him, wearing a paint stained sweater with loose pants.
And behind them, little Nyx was peering around his mothers legs.
I try not to gape at the sight.
I realized that I hadn’t bowed yet, and went to do so, but Azriel’s hand on my back stopped me.
“This is Y/N. She wanted to explore, so I thought I’d come with her.” Azriel says, keeping me close.
I couldn’t help but feel as if he was taking up on my behalf.
My highlord stares at me, his violet eyes searching me for some sort of ill intent.
“Rhys, take it easy on her, she’s obviously overwhelmed already.” I do gape this time as the high lady speaks with such softness before turning to me.
“I’m Feyre, we’re so happy that you’re here now.” She said taking one of my hands in hers and shaking it gently.
I nod, a little bit breathless. “It’s a pleasure to meet you also Hig- Feyre.”
She smiles at my almost use of her title, and I blush, wondering how I ended up in front of the most powerful highlord and highlady, on a first name basis no less.
“I know that you’re probably still a little shaken up, we were wondering if you could answer some of our questions?” Feyre asked gently, as if I was a small animal, easily startled.
I didn’t want to be that anymore. I want to be more than the cowering doe in the spotlight.
So I stand up straight. “That’s perfectly fine. In fact, I think I still need to fulfill my end of the bargain with Azriel.”
Rhysands eyes flared with shock, whipping his head to look at Azriel, who just shrugged like it was any other day.
I looked at Feyre, who had a bit of a mischievous smile on her face. “He did tell you about our deal, right?”
She chuckled, shaking her head before shooting me an especially amused look. “Not a word.”
Oh mother above. First he caught me staring at him, now I’ve got him into real trouble.
I watch Azriel and Rhysand stare at each other for a minute, and I wonder what punishment his highlord will dole out, but he only sighs.
“I know you keep a lot of things to yourself brother, but I would appreciate it if you warn me next time you go around making deals with random strangers.”
Maybe he was nice, like they had all said. I was still wary though.
Azriel chuckled, drawing my eyes back to him. “Sorry. I didn’t think it would go this far.”
Right. Of course.
It was never part of his plan to bring me to this beautiful place, to save me from the snow. Now I wonder if the only reason he had saved me in the first place is because I had yet to fulfill my end of the bargain.
The happy feeling that had begun to appear in my chest dissipated in an instant. Of course that was it.
I looked to Feyre again, and I decided right then and there that no matter how nice they all appeared, I couldn’t trust them. Any of them.
Just because they could put on a happy show, didn’t mean they weren’t just as cruel as they appeared in Hewn City.
“So do you want to do this here?” I ask Feyre, letting her hear how on edge I was on.
Instead of getting angry like I half expected, she looked at me with more pity. I hated it.
“Let’s head back to the town house, where you were staying before.” Feyre said, walking up next to me. “Everything will be alright, I promise.”

let's talk a lil bit about the new Thedas Calls teaser and the new blog post, in relation to revisiting the DA:D leaks from around 10 months ago (potential DA:D spoiler warning for those last 2 links, as well as for under the cut below):
(I won't be posting the images and gif themselves from that leak here, not directly. here and here are some previous posts of mine talking/speculating about those leaks so that I don't repeat myself too much. and here is my DA:D spoiler tag in general in case it's of interest to anyone to browse or anyone wishes to blacklist it. also, the usual set of disclaimers that accompany all leaks applies - might not be real, unable to verify, games change a fair bit between development phases and final release, take with grain of salt etc).
okay, so really in this post I am just looking to tie the new teaser&blog info with that leak.
the new teaser indicates Weisshaupt as a location we'll be visiting in DA:D, seeming to confirm the leak, which shows the possible Player Character, Rook, and their companions including Davrin fighting through Weisshaupt ("Weisshaupt" can be seen in the top right text).
the new teaser implies something bad has happened to Weisshaupt (see bottom paragraph in that post) and when the 'Speaker 2' Warden character speaks their line, we hear the roar of battle, a battle cry, the clang of weapons etc. I wrote elsewhere that Speaker 2 (who insists that Wardens don't hide in their castle, they fight)
sounds like a hardened fighter, a seasoned commander. he is speaking when he’s about to be attacked, or in a pause in battle
and in the leak, text shows that Rook has the objective "Defeat the darkspawn", and shows them fighting through Weisshaupt in combat with darkspawn. this is not the worst of it however - per the dialogue there's "worse than darkspawn on the way", and the walls won't hold it back. we see Rook fighting what looks like those red lyrium-affected darkspawn creatures. Could the thing that is worse and on the way be the cause of the "tremors in the Anderfels" described in the blog post, or one of the "risen gods" mentioned in the teaser? I feel like if you squint, in some of the images from the leak, there looks to be the silhouette of a great beast in the background, maybe a dragon.
this location in the leak, also noted as Weisshaupt, looks to be this location from the teaser, just from a different angle/position on that 'level'. it has the same night-time, lighting, dark atmosphere, rocky cliffs, cloudyness, ruined buildings/structures, ominous feel, vaguely green tint etc.
the blue dome in that location also seems to show up as an asset in the Rivain segment of the teaser.
apart from the red lyrium darkspawn, the red lighting here in the leak (and potentially the reference to "Spawn Boils"), as well as the ominous spreading tendrils in the leak images in general, bring to mind the red lyrium-esque glow in part of this shot from the teaser.
the leak describes Rook as a "Level [x] Grey Warden" - interesting considering the prominence of Grey Wardens as a highlighted faction, locale (via Anderfels and their HQ), 'Warden Speaker' in the teaser and all. (remembering also the speculation that Warden is a potential background of some kind for the PC)
I also wonder if the big door with griffons on it in the leak is what looks to me like a door/gateway covered by the suggestion of red lyrium in the teaser. I feel like if you squint you can just about make out the pattern of the engraved griffons' wings on it, or those rayed lines from the bottom half of the door. (or is this just me seeing things hh?) in the leak the characters are trying to hold the door shut and there's no red lyrium on it. I guess they fail and it becomes tainted by red lyrium and destroyed/grown over or something, or the dragon etc that I presume they're trying to keep out, does end up busting through, with the walls around it becoming destroyed too. (easily done by a dragon, magic, red lyrium or stuff magic-warping bc of Fade shenanigans etc)
According to sources that spoke to Tom Henderson's Insider Gaming, "It’s understood that you’ll be able to move from your hub to missions by passing through a mirrored portal." I know the games have always had Fast Travel all over Ferelden as in DA:O or all over Ferelden and Orlais as in DA:I etc. and it's a game, so you don't really need an explanation for jumping around travel-wise due to gameplay-story segregation. the mirrored portal obviously sounds like an eluvian though and to tie this to the new teaser, with so many different locales shown across vast swathes of northern Thedas - Anderfels, Tevinter, Antiva and Rivain at least - I have to wonder again if the PC and their companions are travelling around these many different countries and across such distances via eluvians. I wrote elsewhere,
moving from a hub to missions through eluvians was exactly what we did in Trespasser from the Winter Palace, and it worked really well. Trespasser’s setup was really enjoyable. it was a fun mechanic that helped explain fast travel and apparent teleportation. it also allowed for travelling to places all over, from the Deep Roads to ancient elven ruins to places in-between the waking world and the Fade - a variety of handcrafted places to explore still but with a tighter storyline threading through them, as opposed to open-world that felt like it was probably mandatory to include during development because of other games on the market like Skyrim and AC, but which then struggled to be filled with meaningful content to fill the space and in which that struggle was apparent. I’d be down for that. I’m just daydreaming and speculating wildly now for real (bc it’s fun) but we could travel all over Thedas that way. We did that in [previous DA games] I know but you know what I mean?
at the very least from the new teaser we now know we're travelling to at least 4 different nations in DA:D. :>
Some leak-text on Reddit also accompanied the gif and screenshots from the leak. it again mentioned the darkspawn attacking Weisshaupt. as I wrote at the time, this "explains why Weisshaupt looks wrecked", now it seems like we are also seeing this in the new teaser (wrecked Weisshaupt). it seemed to confirm the influence of red lyrium also, mentioning that some of the enemy darkspawn "have red lyrium attacks", and confirmed the attacking dragon. I wrote at the time
The dragon is also Concerning.. like. Darkspawn attacking, with a dragon involved. That sounds like a Blight and an Archdemon. Is this the Sixth Blight? is it a Red Lyrium Blight? I'm reminded of this concept art. also HELLO?
not sure about a 'red lyrium Blight' / 'sixth Blight' exactly per se, but what it reminds me of again is the Anderfels blurb from the new blog,
ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴀʀ ᴡᴇꜱᴛ, ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ɢʀᴇʏ ᴡᴀʀᴅᴇɴꜱ ᴘᴀᴛʀᴏʟ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɴᴅᴇʀꜰᴇʟꜱ. ᴛʀᴇᴍᴏʀꜱ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴅɪꜱᴛᴜʀʙᴀɴᴄᴇꜱ ᴏꜰ ʟᴀᴛᴇ. ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴄᴀᴜꜱᴇ ɪꜱ ᴜɴᴋɴᴏᴡɴ. ᴜᴘᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅɪꜱᴛᴀɴᴛ ʜᴏʀɪᴢᴏɴ, ᴀ ꜱᴛᴏʀᴍ ᴏꜰ ᴏᴍɪɴᴏᴜꜱ ɪɴᴛᴇɴᴛ ʙʀᴇᴡꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴀʀᴋᴇɴꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ꜱᴋɪᴇꜱ.
as in, the contents of the leaks sure sounds like this 'storm of ominous intent that darkened the Anderfels skies' has now struck, and hit Weisshaupt.
In the leak it was noted that
"The objective is to fight through the Darkspawn to get to the library, but as you are doing so there is also a big ass dragon attacking from above. And the dragon creates occasional environmental and traversal hazards. It ends once you reach the library, close the gates, "and then come face to face with the dragon. It appears you are then supposed to try and chain the dragon up, but it ends before the player completes that."
(I said of this, "I guess the big lever we see has something to do with trying to chain the dragon up.") I feel like here in the new teaser we can see some hints of occasional environmental and traversal hazards, like lightning strikes (some dragons have lightning / electricity abilities right? like Vinsomer from the DA:D codex they shared with us), broken bridges and different places where we might have to jump to, hang from, or climb onto etc (and the leak had also mentioned that jumping returns). I also feel like, perhaps the ring-things in that shot from the new teaser have something to do with the chain-system mentioned in the leak, where it seems that you're supposed to then try and chain the dragon up. the leak also said that
"Basically, buildings and whatnot are all modeled and textured but the skybox itself is very dark and makes it seem as though the entire fortress is underground, although it is clearly not. I suspect the skybox could contain some giant world event, similar to the Breach, they hadn't finished."
given that in the new teaser Weisshaupt still looks dark, it seems like this was intentional? and likely due to the attack on the fortress and whatever giant world event may be appearing in the sky[box] that was theorized to being something similar to the Breach (and in that concept art of Weisshaupt).

Chapter 4 / Chapter 6
Chapter 5: Edge of Desire
The gentle morning light shone on the rumpled sheets beside you. You stretched and yawned before the pang of a headache made its presence, a little reminder of the events of the night prior. Frankie spent the night. You sat up in disbelief as you began to remember, Frankie had really spent the night, his lips touched yours, his scent still lingering on your sheets. A smile gently made its appearance on your lips. When the sudden sound of a frying pan piqued your curiosity.
You quickly padded over to your kitchen where the aroma of coffee greeted you as you entered the kitchen, finding Frankie with a towel slung over his shoulder, his white tee hugging his broad frame.
"Mornin' sunshine," he greeted, handing you a steaming cup. "Hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of raiding your pantry."
"Coffee and breakfast?" you said, leaning against the counter, the headache dulling with each sip.
"And some painkillers," he added, placing a light kiss on your forehead. "Thought you might need them."
"You're a lifesaver, thank you,"
"Least I could do," a hint of warmth in his voice.
"So, what's cooking?" you asked, nodding toward the stove where he was busy flipping something in the pan.
"Pancakes and bacon. Figured you could use something to soak up last night's indulgences."
"Fair enough," you said with a smirk, taking a seat at the table. "I'll take all the help I can get."
Frankie chuckled, joining you at the table as he plated the food. There was a comfortable silence between you as you ate, the tension from the night before still lingering in the air. As you finished your meal, you couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude toward Frankie.
"Thanks for breakfast," you said, offering him a small smile. "And for… everything else."
Frankie returned your smile, his eyes softening in a way that caught you off guard.
"Anytime," he replied, his voice quieter than before. "You know where to find me if you need anything else." He added with a wink.
"Don't say that" You said playfully "might have you here all the time"
He chuckled, "I'm not sure if you remember our conversation last night but I meant everything that I said" Frankie's eyes carefully searched yours as he sipped his coffee.
"I did too" You nodded, feeling a sense of warmth spread through you at his words.
Frankie glanced at his watch, "I wish I could stay longer Hermosa, but I have to pick Camilla up soon," he said apologetically, "I'll text you soon, though. Promise." Frankie's lips curved into a sweet smile as he leaned in to press a gentle kiss on your cheek.
Watching him gather his things and head towards the door, you couldn't help but feel a twinge of longing. The morning had been unexpectedly pleasant, and you found yourself already looking forward to the next time you'd see him.
—
You went about your Sunday with your usual routine, though today held a subtle shift in the air. The typical chores awaited your attention—laundry remained untouched, and breakfast dishes sat in the sink. Yet, your focus was elsewhere, drawn irresistibly to the dancing blue bubbles on your phone screen.
Your phone buzzed, Frankie's name flashed across the screen, accompanied by a playful message.
Frankie: "Hola Hermosa. Miss me already?"
A grin spread across your face as you typed out a reply, your heart fluttering with excitement.
You: "Maybe just a little 😉. How's Camilla?"
Frankie: "Being an agent of chaos as usual. But don't worry, She says hi "
You couldn't help but laugh at the mental image of Frankie wrangling his energetic daughter.
You: "Tell her I said hi back! And make sure she doesn't give you too much trouble."
Frankie: "No promises. She's a handful, just like her old man."
You: "Guess that makes two of you then!"
As the day wore on, you found yourself eagerly anticipating each new message from Frankie. Your heart racing with every notification, like a lovesick teenager, completely caught up in the excitement of it all. Lost in the flurry of texts, you didn't notice the time slipping away until the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the room in a soft, golden glow. With a contented sigh, you set your phone aside, feeling a sense of warmth and excitement bubbling inside you.
—
Monday's had always been dreadful, the Sunday blues made a consistent appearance every night prior, causing you to curl up on your couch with a cup of your favorite tea to ease the anticipation of a new week. But ever since Frankie, things changed. His and Cami's arrival every Monday morning brought a sense of ease and excitement, at least, till now.
Your steps echoed down the clinic hallway as you nervously paced stealing glances out the window in the hopes of spotting the familiar sight of the green Jeep pulling into the parking lot. It was already fifteen minutes past the start of Cami's session, and Frankie had never been late before. Maybe there's traffic? Or maybe he regrets everything. A line has been crossed…What if-?
Heather strolled past you on her way to the printer, her voice cutting through your worried thoughts "How odd. Your kiddo's not here yet?"
"Nope" you replied, trying to sound casual "No sign of them yet"
"Oh by the way, did you see the e-mail from admin this morning?" She asked, sorting the thin stack of papers.
"Oh.." You realized you hadn't checked your emails, too preoccupied with setting up for the upcoming session "I haven't gotten to that yet, what's up?"
"We're sharing Cami now!" She squealed with a little too much excitement. "Their insurance approved them to be seen twice a week now! And, since you're schedule is booked they put her on mine for her second day. Isn't that great?"
"That's amazing! I'm glad she'll be getting all the help she needs" You flashed her a warm smile, "We're currently working on three-word phrases.. You'll love her, super cute kid and-"
"Even cuter Dad" Heather interjected, catching you off guard, "who knows maybe Mr. Morales will start bringing me coffee every session" She teased with a wink.
"Heather…it's not like tha-"
"Don't give me that look" She interrupted reading your expression, "No ring on that finger, sweetheart" she pointed out, leaning in closer. "And I know you know that too" her tone carrying a thinly veiled threat.
Is she onto something? No, that couldn't be right. I mean, how? Technically, there was nothing going on.
Thoughts of Frankie overwhelmed you, picturing his firm grip on your thighs as he lifted you, his breath sending shivers down your spine as it brushed against the curve of your neck. The memory of his lips meeting yours with an intense hunger consumed your mind.
Suddenly, the sound of a sweet little voice tore you away from your reminiscing thoughts and directed your attention to the clinic door, more specifically, the man holding her in his arms. "Peach time!" she cheered.
"Hey there Cami!"
"Sorry we're late" Frankie huffed as he set Camila down "Hit some unexpected traffic on the way over"
"That's okay, why don't we get started?" You suggested, keenly aware of Heather's lingering gaze.
__
Camilla's sweet giggles and squeals filled the clinic room. She had made so much progress- she was now able to label various body parts, colors, and household items. Her vocabulary had expanded so much in comparison to when she first started. She loved to sing, pop bubbles, and color, but most of all she loved to play with toy animals. Frankie was always so attentive to your advice and took special notice of the strong bond that you had with his daughter. He often wondered what it would look like to have you around more often.
"I meant to give you last week" Frankie pulled out a small envelope and handed it to you, "It would mean a lot to Cami and I, if you made it but we understand if you already have other plans"
You received the envelope with a shy smile. The watercolor safari-themed birthday invitation read, Four Ever Wild- Join us to celebrate Camila's 4th Birthday. "Oh Cami, you're growing so fast! Of course, I'd love to be there"
"Tell her how old you'll be." he gently encouraged, "show her- just like we've practiced"
Cami proudly lifted three little fingers, her other hand holding onto a plush elephant toy she brought from home.
Frankie chuckled "Almost there preciosa, remember you'll be four soon"
Camilla burst into giggles "I be fouh"
"Nice work Cami!" you praised, "Aww I can't wait to celebrate you, sweet girl"
Camilla smiled in response but her attention quickly shifted to your cube shelf. Her tiny hands eagerly grasped the small toy helicopter whose tail roter peeked out from the storage cube. She hurried to show off the toy to her father. "Papa look!.. choppuh!"
"A big chopper!" you said, reaching for another smaller model from the storage cube to continue Cami's play.
"Like the one Daddy flies," Frankie added, his eyes meeting yours with a warm smile spreading across his lips. "Speaking of… I'd like to take you with me sometime." Your heart skipped a beat as you bit your lip, a smile coloring your cheeks a rosy shade of pink in response to his offer.
"I'm sorry" he paused, a hint of nervousness flashing across his eyes "I should've waited until after the session to ask but I wanted to ask you in person"
"No, it's okay, I'd really like that," you replied, feeling your heart flutter with anticipation.
"Great, It's a date," Frankie confirmed, sealing the moment with a promise that made your heart swell.
As the session came to an end, you felt a surge of excitement coursing through you. With a lingering touch on your shoulder, Frankie whispered, "I'm excited to be your pilot." His breath brushed against your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
"Likewise," you replied softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
Frankie's grin widened, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "I'll make sure every moment is worth the wait," he promised.
It hadn't been long after you walked them out of the clinic when your phone's screen lit up with a text notification that made your heart skip a beat.
Frankie: You looked really beautiful this morning.
You: I think I'll look even better as your co-pilot ;)
Frankie: Oh, I bet. Might get a little too distracted.
You couldn't help but giggle at his response, feeling a warm blush spread across your cheeks.
Frankie: By the way, I haven't forgotten about that faucet. I can swing by Wednesday evening, If you're free.
You felt a wave of heat rise to your cheeks.
You: That works! Looking forward to seeing you, handyman.
—
"He spent the night!?" Michele exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise as she set her wine glass down. "Spill woman, spill!! How was it?"
You laughed, shaking your head. "Well, let's just say there were sparks, but it wasn't exactly um..a fireworks show."
Michele leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "What happened?"
You hesitated, trying to find the right words to describe the electric tension that had filled the air. "Well, we were definitely vibing, and things got pretty steamy, but then…"
"Then what?"
"Then we both kinda hit the brakes," you admitted, feeling a mix of disappointment and relief. "But at least it was clear that the feelings are mutual."
Michele nodded understandingly. "Well, hey, progress is progress, right?"
"Yeah..," you agreed, taking a sip of your wine before adding "So, he's coming over tomorrow.."
"He's coming over tomorrow?" Her eyes lit up as she shifted in her seat.
"Yep, he's got his handyman hat on and is ready to tackle that faucet situation." You said biting your lip.
"Hmm, a little handyman action turning into something more?"
"Who knows?" you replied with a sly grin.
"Maybe he'll end up fixing more than just the plumbing" Michele giggled, "Whatever the case, I'll have my popcorn ready," she added with a wink.
"Anywho, what happened with the guy from the bar,"
Michele's expression a mix of amusement and chagrin. "Well, things were getting pretty hot and heavy…."
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And?…"
"Then we get to his place, and his so-called roommates actually turned out to be his parents!"
You couldn't help but gasp "No way! Did his mom walk in on you guys or something?"
"Came in with a whole tray of milk and cookies!" You both burst out in laughter.
"Please tell me you took a cookie!"
"Yeah, but I think I'll pass on dating guys who still need a curfew. I swear I he looked older!"

"Hey, do you think you can turn the shut-off valve?" Frankie's voice carried a playful edge as he glanced at you, noticing your eagerness to assist.
You had been keeping him company while he worked on your bathroom sink. Taking special notice of his broad shoulders made your sink look small. The way his muscles flexed as he tackled the task at hand. Having Frankie in your home once again stirred a sense of comfort and lit a fire deep within you.
"It's the one on the right," he directed with a small smile playing on his lips.
"Yeah, okay" You responded.
Reaching for the knob, you turned it, but before you could react, a sudden burst of water sprayed out, drenching both of you in surprise. You let out a surprised squeal as the water splashed onto your clothes, leaving you both thoroughly soaked. Laughter bubbled up between you as Frankie swiftly reached below the sink to shut off the valve.
"Well, that was unexpected," Frankie quipped, his grin widening as he failed to suppress his laughter
You covered your mouth in embarrassment, "I'm so sorry.."
"It's alright, Hermosa". He took notice of how your slicked strands framed your face. Even when drenched, you stirred admiration in him. "Oh god, you're soaked" Without a second thought Frankie instinctively grabbed a towel to pat you dry. "Here" He patted your cheek and trailed down to your collarbone, seemingly unaware that his touch had soon reached your breast. As Frankie's hands moved over your damp clothes with the towel, a charged atmosphere seemed to build between you. His touch was gentle yet firm, sending a fiery rush through you, as you felt his warmth radiating through the fabric. The atmosphere crackled with an intensity, an unspoken tension that hung between you, electric and undeniable, that left you dizzy.
You looked up into his eyes, finding they had darkened with something you couldn't quite place. His gaze lingered on your face, tracing the lines of your features as if committing them to memory. You soon realized that the moment had shifted into something deeper, emerging from a place of desire.
"Frankie…" Your response barely above a whisper.
Frankie's fingers brushed against your skin, leaving a trail of heat in their wake. Your heart raced in your chest as you felt the closeness between you grow with each passing second. His proximity was intoxicating, drawing you in like a moth to a flame.
"Yes?" he husked, his gaze searching your face for any hint of reservation.
"Don't. stop." you breathed, your heart racing.
Without a word, Frankie leaned in closer, his lips hovering just inches from yours. The world around you seemed to fade away as you focused solely on the man before you, his breath mingling with yours in the space between you. Your lips met with an urgency that defied all reason, a hunger that begged to be sated. It was as if fireworks exploded overhead, igniting a fire within both of you, a culmination of longing and desire that had been building between you for far too long.
His hands reached for your thighs, as his kiss deepened, lifting you onto the sink with ease. Tools and various items fell to the floor, but in that moment, neither of you cared. His damp curls caressed your skin, leaving a trace of cool as his lips trailed down the crook of your neck. The heat of his breath sent shivers down your spine, releasing soft moans from your lips.
Frankie's fingers dance on the hem of your damp shirt, he examines your gaze watching your expression closely with a slight grin. The sight of you biting his lip drives him crazy but still, he waits for your response. "This okay?"
"Uh huh" you breathed, your chest now rising and falling rapidly as the tension rose and heat reached your center.
His large hands cup the full of your bra, the other working at the clasps of your bra, paying close attention to the way your supple breasts fell freely. It wasn't long before his lips enveloped your nipples, sucking and flicking his tongue in just the right way that sent a jolt of pleasure through you.
You desperately reached for Frankie who was now straining against his jeans. He shook his head and stopped your efforts "You first, Hermosa" he teased with a half smile, his hand dragged your skirt up your thigh and moved your panties to the side. Running his fingers through your slickened center, "already so wet for me" he whispered.
His fingers slid into your core pumping slowly and increasing in pace, leaving you breathless. "I want you to come for me.. like this" his voice hoarse with wanting. The way his fingers felt inside you drove you dizzy, your body already responding to his every move. His thumb circling deliciously over your clit compelling you to become undone in his arms. He reveled in watching your expression dissolve into waves of pleasure accompanied by the sweet noises that you made.
"Take me to bed" you managed.
Frankie's embrace felt strong and secure as he carried you to bed. Quickly getting rid of your clothes, you frantically started at his belt. Your hands grazed his hard cock straining against his jeans and let out a surprised squeal when Frankie, pulled your legs down to the edge of your bed.
"I wasn't done" he growled, sinking to his knees.
His eyes glazed over as he took you in and placed soft kisses that teased the tender skin of your thighs as he parted them, lifting them over his broad glistening shoulders. His mouth soon found your slick heat, his tongue lapped and sucking at your center. Each graze, and swirl of his tongue built up to send shockwaves of pleasure bringing you to the edge. You let out a desperate moan, your body writhing in response to him. needed him desperately, you needed to have him, now.
"Fuck…" you panted "I can't.."
"Use your words," He said, between your lips.
"I can't… take it…anymore" You propped yourself to see the sight of him hovering over you and pausing to look at you. "Fuck me.. Frankie…please"
He looked so beautiful in the moonlight that peered into your room his curls still damp from moments earlier. Hovering over you, kissing his way up your body as his hand lit a trail of heat as it explored the rest of you.
"Is this what you want?" He murmured, his eyes, dark yet filled with genuine concern, reflecting the awareness of the threshold you both were on the verge of crossing.
You closed the distance between you, capturing his lips. It was a declaration, a defiance against the constraints that had held you back for so long. In that instant, time seemed to stand still as you lost yourself in the intensity of the moment. There were no more doubts, no more hesitations.
You welcomed the ache as he sank his hard cock into your heat. Each roll of his hips pushed deeper and deeper into you as he set the pace. You melted under him, the moonlight highlighting your bouncing breasts. His shoulders never looked more broad. The way he hovered over you, thrusting into you as he swirled his tongue over your aroused nipple, had you seeing stars. Frankie enveloped each of your cries with kisses.
"Come on baby, come on, come for me" He rasped, being spurred on by the sound of your glistening skin being pounded into.
His rhythm quickened as the headboard above you mirrored his thrusts. You reached for his hips driving him even deeper to hit that sweet spot over and over again until your pussy pulsed around him.
"F-frankie I'm coming!!" You screamed climaxing into pure ecstasy, unraveling under him as he buried into you, sending shockwaves all over your body.
"Fuck" he hissed, his pace now languid, each movement deliberate as he savored every movement before bursting into your heat.
He rolled over to the side of the bed, breathing in deep chests rising and falling catching your breath. He placed a sweet tender kiss on your lips before reaching for a towel to clean you up.
"I've never been more glad for a faulty faucet" you quipped, flashing him a smile.
He tenderly tucked a stray strand of hair behind your ear, his touch gentle as he took in the sight of you in your most vulnerable form. He smiled and was about to breathe out his response when the frantic buzzing of his phone derailed his thoughts.
His eyebrows furrowed in the glow of his phone to see three missed calls from Pope.
"Pope, what's going on? Is Camilla okay?" Frankie's heart pounded
"Yeah, she's fine, she's sleeping now." He paused, not knowing how to break the news to him, "It's Ashley… she showed up to the house."
