Character Poll Tag!!!
Thanks for tagging me @leahnardo-da-veggie :)
Rules: Make a poll with five of your all time favorite characters and then tag five people to do the same. See which character is everyone's favorite!
These are all my favorite OCs of mine and I'm curious what you all think!
Tagging @kaylinalexanderbooks @the-ellia-west @illarian-rambling @agirlandherquill @mysticstarlightduck
Also here's a little more information for them all below.
Micheal: My favorite sunshine boy. He's the city's main superhero and he loves being able to help people, along with his city. Though being a hero at night and even sometimes during the day mean's he's constantly sleep deprived, but he tries to give everyone a second chance, sometime even the villains he's fighting.
Serita: Rude, evil sense of humor, and bank robber. However she is very charismatic and funny and likes to tease. She's a robotics genius and has a long standing rivalry with Ray as she LOVES to try to one up him and tease him.
No One: Evil. No morals at all and no sense of responsibility. Despite being eighteen he acts twelve as he like to play games with his victims and messes with people of entertainment. Especially Micheal. He has the ability to puppeteer people and only really sees them as dolls.
Ray: Sarcastic, always done with everyone, and could care less about everything. Has a killer ego that deffinatly needs to be humbled which is part of his arc. Along with Serita he's a robotics and chemistry genius and is basiclay Micheals tech support as a hero. As much as he tries to deny it, he actually cares a lot. He's a stupid teenager who doesn't know how to handle his feelings lol.
Talia: A little air headed but also very emotionally mature. Very artsy and even help design Micheals suit. She's usually very nice and a little quiet but if you piss her off she will absolutely mess you up. Unlike Ray she's a great liar and is usually the one to vouch for Micheal when he's being a hero.

do you have any ghostbat hcs that you can grace me with <3??
OH BOY DO I!!! some these are brutaliakhoa but most are ghostbat ☝
khoa isn't a huge cuddler in general but he knows when bruce gets overstimulated he just likes to be squeezed bc it helps him self regulate, autistic bruce ftw 💪
bruce doesn't introduce khoa to the kids. khoa just runs into them on patrol or around town and can tell bc they all act like him whether it's very obvious or not
khoa immediately clocks damian as talia's kid bc he looks just like her but acts mostly like bruce, he finds it endearing
damian cass and dick are khoa's favorite kids
khoa isn't the "step dad" or even weird uncle, he's just "dad's bf" to everybody. except damian and jason, they always refer to him as "mom and dad's bf"
khoa is really big on presents. he finds them kinda redundant bc anything he can buy bruce, bruce can already buy for himself but he knows that he and bruce are both very terrible with words to express things, and khoa already lacking certain emotions has an especially hard time, so he buys little things like bruce's favorite take out or a lil chocolate bar every now and again as a token of appreciation
they play wrestle literally all the time. they say its "training" but everybody calls bullshit
duke was actually one of the first bat kids to meet khoa and it was by complete accident
on the rare occasion that talia, bruce, and khoa are all together khoa and talia take it upon themselves to embarrass the fuck out of bruce by telling the kids stories about him when he was younger
khoa will sometimes just attack him with swords to test brucs's reflexes, it's especially funny when bruce Also has swords on hand
khoa likes to drag bruce to the archery range every now and again because bruce always forgets he's a trained archer and khoa won't let those skills become dull
khoa likes to steal the batmobile when bruce leaves it unattended, one time a little 12 y/o damian was in the backseat and simply didn't question it
in return bruce vandalizes khoa's dinosaur
khoa will sometimes leave little gifts for the kids in the cave like damian with some extra treats for his pets or a gift card to a skate shop for tim and bruce loves it because he can tell the little gestures mean a lot to the kids
ra's initially thought khoa and bruce were a thing when they were with the league of assassins and was always confused as to why his daughter was going on dates with 2 clearly gay men 💀 bi4bi4bi brutaliakhoa my loves
khoa gets along pretty well with selina and even when selina and bruce inevitably break up again khoa keeps seeing her because he enjoys her sense of humor
THATS ALL OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD BUT LMK IF YOU WANT MORE

Current shower thought brainrot: the Persona 5 cast starring in Ride the Cyclone.
Makoto as Ocean (star student, lack of awareness to her peers crashing down around her via the inciting incident, “keep your head down and things will look up”.)
Ann as Constance (“known” by people without being known at all, a victim of all people in her life seeing her at surface level. “I used to think that life was just a heartbreaker/That just breaks, and it breaks, and it breaks, and it breaks, 'till you can't break no more/'Till you can't take no more”.)
Ryuji as Mischa (misunderstood as the “dumb delinquent” while in reality being quite nuanced and multifaceted. Idk who his Talia would be though… I’m leaning towards Futaba so like, Talia but make it platonic.)
Protag/Joker as Ricky (somebody that nobody got to/could get to know at all until the inciting incident, vastly talented, charismatic, nerd, harem. Level up.)
Yusuke as Noel (probably the most romantic boy in town in the p5 canon, dreamer, artist, poet. Admittedly their personalities don’t match very well but it still makes sense yk?)
For our Jane Doe I am waffling between Haru and Morgana.
-Morgana; works thematically (“Oh, no soul, and no name/And no story, what a shame/Cruel existence was only a sham/Oh, Saint Peter, let me in/You must know where I've been/Won't you tell me at last who I am?”
-Haru; fits the personality, works thematically if you squint (very sweet and very unnerving, “Like John, I'll be eternally/A forgotten name, some lost refrain/Just "Jane"”, “when the lioness has children…”, “do you want to know what really freaks me out?”
Akechi as Karnak (dry humor [so much of it], slave to fate, dies [sorry], “Meet my executioner, ✨️a rat✨️”-it’s so appropriate I’m sorry, “I even suggested they ride the cyclone.”-sae palace parallel moment????)
Art pending. Probably. I am very ill.

Here are some thoughts I had about a certain ship dynamic. Let’s call it... “Beauty and the Beast”, or something.
Here are some examples: Talia Al Ghul/Bruce Wayne (Batman/DC) Joshua/Neku Sakuraba (TWEWY) Okino/Hijiyama (13 Sentinels) Temenos Mistral/Crick Wellesley (Octopath Traveler II)
Calling the first character Character A and the second character Character B, here’s my analysis of the ship dynamic:
Character A - A character who is mischievous, above average intelligence, sneaky, plays things very close to the vest but is at their core a good person. They don't always advertise it and may be the anti-hero or even the villain. They often act self-righteous and can cross into haughty or arrogant. They enjoy wordplay and puns and have a rather sick sense of humor. They may or may not derive some amount of joy from other's suffering but only when it's deserved. They have a strong sense of justice and only enjoy suffering when it's happening to someone powerful or truly evil. They do not like suffering when it's done to marginalized people or groups. If you put them in charge of a country, they would be very efficient and fair at running it. They are a natural leader. They are often a "mastermind" of sorts. They are willing and able to do almost anything to get their goals met and are likely an atheist and a moral relativist. They subscribe to a very distinct philosophy that may be difficult for others to grasp, which causes them to be misunderstood as villainous when they are really just antagonistic. As much as they would like to be seen or don't mind being seen as morally ambiguous, deep down they may have abandonment issues or just deeply wish to be sentimentally and tenderly loved. When they have allegiance to someone, that allegiance will often be very strong, or they may even have a history of being abused (case in point, Talia Al Ghul’s relationship with her father). Physically, they may or may not be very strong and prefer to use their tactical brains over brawn. They are a distinct INTJ/Virgo. They have a low bullshit tolerance but are otherwise very laid back. They may or may not have certain autistic or OCD tendencies depending on the context.
Character B - A character who is basically a “himbo” or stereotypical hero. They are often, paradoxically, quite smart, but often choose brawn over using their brain. They feel things very intensely and have big, dumb hearts masked by a somewhat rough exterior. They may have a rough past history. They are what you would think of as a more stereotypical "hero" archetype - wants to save everyone but not willing to sacrifice their moral fiber to do it, which is a distinct departure from Character A's philosophy. Character A may mock them for being too morally objective or puritanical. They will break down a door or bust a hole through a wall to save someone - anyone, even somebody they don't even know. But put their loved one in danger, especially Character A, and oh, boy. You better run! Fiercely protective, they have a one-track mind in a dangerous situation and will use brute strength in conjunction with smart and quick decisions to decisively end the fight or situation. They are only slightly better at productive communication than Character A, and depending on the situation, they are actually worse. B is often seen as a loner, brooding, a "gentle giant" or even a silent brute to some. However, B has a complex and emotional inner life with a big heart and a desire to nurture and care for those around them. This makes them a good candidate for caring for others, especially children and animals who tend to get along with them very well.
What these two share distinctly in common is that other people do not understand what they have going on at all. Others may comment that they're not even sure what A sees in B or what B sees in A - especially because they tend to run in different social circles. While their friends and family are left scratching their heads in sort of a Romeo/Juliet situation, these two are deeply devoted to each other. They understand each other perfectly because they both wish to retreat from society and take care of each other. A worries about B being so pig-headed and stubborn and charging into dangerous situations wherein they could be hurt. B worries about A being hurt or threatened by any external force and may at times see A as physically "fragile" (which A abhors and will usually talk B out of). That being said, B always knows that A is more than capable of taking care of themselves and is no slouch in a fight. When they fight together, one may well jump in front of the other to take a bullet, even when the other insists that they didn't need to. What they both share in common is a distinct desire to "save the world". They won't accuse each other of having delusions of grandeur, because they both very much want the same thing - to care for the world around them. They would make a good pair of leaders and if given the opportunity to take over the world, they would be unstoppable (and quite well received by everyone, too). Each balances out the other's tendencies. They often have opposing viewpoints on how best to achieve their goals, and are not afraid to debate or challenge the other's preconceived notions. They are also both open to reconsider their own ideas knowing that the other is their intellectual equal. The feedback of the other carries very heavy weight with them, and they consider the other's opinion very carefully over anyone else's. They deeply trust and love each other and their love only grows with time. As they age, they only grow a stronger and stronger relationship like an old-growth tree.

do you have any dc fic recs?
a few! mostly batfam related at present
and flings an oath, but says no more / this is a little canon divergence thing where war games doesn’t happen and steph doesn’t die, instead it’s more her coming into her role as a well deserved accomplice to bruce and the fam. i think half of the bat boys are evil tho but that’s a minor detail and the premise overall is fun
give and take / this is a really sweet and clever batcat fic that i think paints their dynamic and banter as vigilantes versus as normal people so well like the humor of it all is divine and it’s fun to see bruce manage to be charming and awkward at the same time
a different type of worldview / a wally centric fic about how being a father both impacts and evolves his perspective on heroism. it’s subtle but touching and i think my favorite part of it is the interspersed text convos between wally and linda where they go bonkers over their beautiful speed demon children
some days / a short introspective fic from damian’s perspective wherein he compares gotham and his old life on the island and realizes that there’s parts of his childhood that weren’t all that bad (i think it’s a bit of a fix-it attempt in that sense)
don’t take the money / this is a canon divergence au meta thing that operates off of the versions of bruce, talia, and harvey that exist within the btas canon and makes their lives intersect in very interesting ways. it’s hard to explain but i love the atmosphere and melancholy of it all like it’s a nice noir piece i think
last word wisdom better get some even too late / a take on jason’s resurrection in vein of the antigone myth and anne carson’s take on it via her infamous work antigonick. the piece is written like a stage play of sorts esp towards the end and i just think it’s a nice representation of what the moral grays and ambiguities of his character should have reflected had they been written by someone. . . smarter lol
make monsters of men / lost days canon divergence where jason does in fact kill the joker. i enjoyed a lot of the wordplay
where do your roots begin (and where do your roots end) / fic that allows a little more humanization of the talia that raises damian and asks some questions about what it means to deserve, and what damian’s two legacies entail for him in the future
dick’s in peril, jason saves him, and then the games begin / fic written by my beloved doaa that explores a scenario wherein jason meets dick as robin when the latter is injured on a mission, and then figures out robin is dick grayson thereafter. some of the exposition really goes for the jugular and makes me weepy
serious / bruce lands himself in a pickle and ends up being truth serumed. talia saves him. they banter. it’s a run of the mill thing for them and that’s what makes it all the more romantic. i just love their easy dialogue with each other and how bruce is almost. . . boyish with her. hopeful. not as rough around the edges
all the roofs of uncertainty / ok. listen. i know most people hate the version of dick who calls jason “little wing” and like i Truly get it and do think it’s a bit of a fantasy created by the batfam agenda in comics, but. this fic gets so meta and it navigates so many interesting conversations through jason when dick ends up in a coma and the former is meeting all of these people cycling in and out of the hospital ward so i just. love it a lot like it’s a labor of love yknow

Russian Roulette - Pt. 2
In this series, you will find Alternative Universe, Soulmate plot, Angst, Fluff. In this chapter, you will find: You met the creepy man from the black car, finally! But things began to get weird for you. Word count: 1.560 Pairings: Reader x Derek Original characters of this chapter: Bennie, your host mom; A weird ginger lady Warnings: English is not my main language <3 Yeah, it was based on Russian Roulette by Rihanna Russian Roulette series: Chapter One | Chapter Three RUSSIAN ROULETTE MASTERLIST TEEN WOLF MASTERLIST
You were without a sign of clues.
Well, you were pretty sure that the creepy guy who was talking with Scott and Stiles that day at the school had the answers you were asking for. However, you don't even know his name, and do this question to Scott and Stiles wasn't a viable option. They will never tell you anything about it. You have just one choice: To stay alert and watch things as close as you can.
But, you know, sometimes things happen funnily. The universe has a weird sense of humor.
You were driving through the city in the afternoon, going to get the girls from ballet, and thinking about a plan or something that you could do. Beacon Hills was a tiny city, so if you find out the name of that guy, you could look for a few pieces of information about him. Actually, you were so absorbed in your own thoughts that you just didn't saw the traffic lights become red. The car in front of you stopped, but you didn't stop the car. In fact, when you saw the red light, your eyes got wider and you stepped into the car brake. The loud sound of the tire sliding in the asphalt echoed through the entire street, and your car crashed in the back of the car in front of you.
God, you were so fucked up! You had just screwed the car of your host family! Sebastian and Barbara will be so upset with you!
Immediately, you come out of the car with your face red with anxiety and anger. How could you be so inattentive? But when you saw a man coming out of the car, the color of your face changed from red to white in fear.
You'd just hitten in a black car. A Camaro, you thought without sure. The man was that creepy guy, who you saw talking with Scott and Stiles. Oh, God. You felt your stomach fell in fear, and you froze. He will take a gun to point of you, you are pretty sure about it!
But instead of it, he just looked at you, watching you attentively. His face still looks serious.
"You okay?"
Well, at least he is a polite criminal. Which market does he work at? Is he a drug dealer? A killer? Or he's some kind of... pimp? But why Scott and Stiles would get into a deal or something like that with a pimp?
He doesn't sound like a pimp for you. Actually, he seems like a killer. Maybe he is a killer and a drug dealer...
You breathe in deeply and finally replies him.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm sorry! I don't have so much time with a driver's license. You okay?"
"I noticed that." His eyes become narrowed, and he gave you a discreet smile "Don't worry about me, I'm okay."
He looks at the damage done, and you follow his gaze. Fortunately, you stepped into the car brake soon enough to get just a little smash on both cars. Of course, your low speed helped to minimize the damage.
"Oh, God." You complain, letting out a long sigh. "Wait."
You went back to your car and took a pen and a post-it from the glove compartment. You weren't giving him your phone number just for being fair with him about the accident. It was just an excuse to, finally, find out his name. Quickly, you wrote your name with your phone number and gave the post-it for him.
"Could you give me your phone number? I'll fix your car, don't worry." He told you the numbers, slowly, and you could make the one million dollar question. "Okay. What's your name?"
"Derek Hale."
Oh my gosh, now you know his name! You would finally find out what the heck is going on.
"Alright. I'll send you a message to talk about the car. And sorry!"
Well, you were a lucky Au Pair. Your host family didn't get angry with you. Actually, they were happy you were okay and said that you don't have to worry about the car fix costs. It was great because 200 dollars per week as a salary really wasn't too much money. They just asked you to be careful while driving.
After taking a look at the girls, you ran to your room on the second floor, the last room in the corridor. Quickly, you took the laptop and begun to search on the internet about Derek. You found a piece of news, who was talking about a fire in a house. Reading that news, you found out that it was his house. Almost everybody died, except for Derek and his uncle, Peter, who is actually hospitalized in a clinic, with his whole body burnt.
Well... Maybe you were being unfair to him. It is such a sad history! But you need to continue your search. You need to prove yourself he isn't a criminal or some sort of it because, in the end, you need to protect your boys.
The next day, you were at a restaurant, lunching with Barbara, your host mom, and boss. You call her lovingly Bennie, and she was born and raised in Beacon Hills. If there's one that probably would know about Derek, that person would be her.
"So, Bennie... What about the car fixing?"
"Oh, dear, don't worry about that." She looks at you with a soft smile. "I'd talked with Hale about it. Everything is solved."
"Uh, really? That's great! And what do you know about him?"
Barbara was more than a boss. She was your friend, your second mom. And, sometimes, like every mom, she had the power to let you embarrassed. She was doing it right now, looking at you suggestively.
"Oh, you're interested in him? Why you didn't tell me before? I would talk with him about you! I don't judge you, I mean, all that bad boy kind... Wow! Don't lose this opportunity, girl!"
Bennie has the amazingly cringe-worthy manner ever: she loves to show you a few guys, telling you to call them to date. It wasn't being different now that you're asking her questions about Hale.
"Gosh, Bennie!" You laugh "Luckily Sebastian is not here."
"Well, I met Derek's mom once. He reminds me of her... You know, with all of that 'sweet' personality." Bennie gave a soft smile for you. "But she was a good person. Her name was Talia. Derek was out of the town since a few time ago but seems he came back. I didn't know about it." Bennie narrowed her eyes and gave you a large smile "And you know what? I think Talia would love to meet you!"
"Jesus Christ, Bennie, stop!" You hide your face with one of your hands, blushing while Bennie laughs about your reaction.
"You!"
A female voice came out of nowhere. A ginger woman, with a red dress, approaches you and Bennie. She seems so... Impressed. And she was looking at you.
"Can I help you?" You said, confused.
"I know what are you looking for, (Y/N)."
You froze. How did she know about your name? You had never, ever seen that woman in your entire life.
"...I'm sorry, I don't know-"
"Look for Haytham." She took a pen from her bag and wrote an address on a napkin from the table. A cold shiver ran down your spine when you noticed that her eyes were so empty and distant as a dead body's eyes. "He's a priest. But look at me, child: You are in a decisive moment of your life. You have two paths to choose from. If you continue to look for answers, you will know the truth and the truth is not what you're expecting. This truth will change your life forever, and your life will become a truly Russian roulette, girl. But if you give up on the call of Selene, and give up on your search, your life will be peaceful, but you will spend the entire life knowing that you lost something and you will never know what it is. You will look for something for the rest of your life that you know it's yours, but you will never find it. The choice is yours."
At this moment, you were so terrified, that you have cringed in the chair. Bennie was equally scared, and she was already looking around for some help. Everyone was looking at the table you were on.
Suddenly, after look at you with her dead eyes, the woman fell to the floor, unconscious. Bennie got up from the chair while everybody was looking at the woman, terrified and worried. Bennie instructed you.
"Call an ambulance!"
Terrified and with your hands shaking, you followed her ask while Bennie was watching the lady. As a doctor, Bennie could give her first aid until the ambulance comes in. But when Bennie took the woman's wrist, she contracted her lips in anxiety. Immediately, Bennie put her hands in the woman's chest and...
Oh, Gosh, she was trying to resuscitate the woman.
Bennie was doing a few chest compressions on the woman, which is obviously wasn't a good sign. After a few trying, Bennie shakes her head negatively. Nervous, you asked for her.
"She will be okay?"
Bennie contracts her lips.
"No, (Y/N). She's dead."

Wholesome BatFamily Fic Rec’s
Hey All, so here is my BatFam Rec List you all have been asking for! Lol jk no one has asked for this, but I made it anyways! So here are my All-Time Favorite BatFamily Fic Recs, for the most part these Recs are all rated either “G” for General Audiences or “T” for Teen and Up Audiences. So basically, all these fics focus on family dynamics and relationships rather than slash or anything like that. These are all truly amazing fics so give your Kudos and love to the authors! And remember to always read the tags before you read the fic!
And So This is Christmas by DragOnstOrm
Summary: It's not that Alfred isn't happy with his job. It's just that sometimes he really wishes that he had known what he was getting into when he signed up for it.
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 1,901
My Comments: Folks, stories don’t get much more wholesome than this fic. After reading this fic I was left warm and happy. Also, it stars my boy, Alfie, which is usually extremely rare for fics. Loved that we got to see Alfred’s perspective in this! Great fic!
Bedside Manner by @fishfingersandjellybabies
Summary: Sometimes Bruce forgot just how great his kid was.
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 2,985
My Comments: Anything @fishfingersandjellybabies writes is truly fantastic, but I particularly loved this one since it delved into the sweeter side of Bruce and Damian’s relationship that we don’t get to see often (especially in cannon). I love me a good hurt/comfort fic 😉
Bet on it by @lysical
Summary: Even Damian could admit that his older siblings occasionally had their uses.
"I need your assistance," Damian said, voice low and tense.
"No," Jason replied, and hung up.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 2,495
My Comments: Lysical writes some of the best BatBrother Fics out there, folks. So if you want some wholesome and hilarious Bat sibling bonding, then look no further! Bet on it, is one of my personal favorites of Lysical’s. Great writing and great characterization!
Blood in the Water by MishaBerry
Summary: We all do stupid things when we are lonely, and in faraway lands, we hardly expect the consequences to follow us. Bruce certainly never thought twice about an American woman in Jaipur after one night with her. He hardly expected to see her ever again.
The universe, on the other hand, had different ideas, and the tides of time and chance brought Tim Drake to Bruce's life over and over again.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 181,939
My Comments: FANTASTIC AU! One of my favorite Tim Drake centric fics, but still has plenty of the rest of the BatFamily. I also love that we get to see Tim as his sweet six-year self. This story has it all, great characterizations, good plot, angst, fluff, and BatFamily bonding 😊
Cracked Foundation by @cdelphiki
Summary: The last thing Damian expected to happen when he ran away from home was to spend a day crammed into a small space with Jason Todd. His father's second son was a black sheep. An outcast. An angry, insanity driven criminal who enjoyed screwing with the batfamily in every way he could. At least, that's what Damian thought. Maybe he was wrong about Todd.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 20,902
My Comments: This is a brilliant fic that examines the relationship between Damian and Jason. I absolutely loved this fic and never wanted it to end. I truly wish there were more Jason and Damian Fics out there, I think it’s a character duo that isn’t explored nearly enough. If you love Damian and Jason brother bonding fics, you’ll love this one and if you’ve never read a bonding fic between these two brothers, you may just find a new love!
Five Times Jason Todd Saved His Brothers, and One Time They Saved Him by laceymcbain, reena_jenkins
Summary: “Did you know I was in here, or did you just blow up the place for fun?”
Damian didn't need to see Todd's face to know he was grinning under the helmet.
“It's not really a rescue unless something blows up. But if Bats asks, it was completely necessary."
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 6,923
My Comments: This fic is BatFamily feels to the extreme. Jason Todd deserves love and this fic gives it to him. LOVED IT <3 <3 <3
Fly By Night by @lysical
Summary: Damian is thirteen. Sometimes he even acts like it.
"This is an injustice," were the last words Damian had spoken to his father all day.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 2,889
My Comments: Another great Fic by @Lysical! This is just a plain ol’ fun Fic, y’all. Great Bat Brother love in this one and it also features my sweet summer child- Jonathan Samuel Kent. Trust me you will love this Fic, it is hilarious and all around good stuff 😊
A Good Place by @lemonadegarden
Summary: Damian Wayne is kidnapped and sent back years through time. Together, he and Father – who's only been Batman for a mere six months –must figure out how to return him to his own time.
Over the course of the next week, Damian discovers that Mexican gangsters do not mess around, that social workers find Bruce annoying, that Bruce might be a little messed up, and that crystal chandeliers create the fondest memories.
Oh. And Alfred has hair.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 36,903
My Comments: LemonadeGarden is one of my All-Time favorite authors, so anything written by them is brilliant. But A Good Place will always be a favorite of mine, it is by far my favorite Damian & Bruce centric Fic out there and is something I have read over and over again. I love getting to see a younger Bruce interact with Damian and in turn, Damian interact with him. It’s overall great and has a fantastic plot!
Let There Be a Bruise by @audreycritter
Summary: Damian is a child who should not have the scars he does; Bruce is a father who has plenty of his own scars, but still wishes he could take his son’s, too.
The silver lining is where they find each other— a broken son and a broken father, putting each other back together.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 3,656
My Comments: Audreycritter is the master of Damián & Bruce Hurt/Comfort fics. I honestly would recommend all of Audrey’s fics, so check them all out! But this one will always be a favorite 😊
Life Happens by @cdelphiki
Summary: While walking home from an event at Wayne Enterprises, Tim and Damian are kidnapped and sent to an alternate dimension. In a world where superheroes are merely comic book characters and the idea of the multiverse is only a theory found within the pages of science fiction, how are Tim and Damian going to return home? How long will they be stranded on this strange Earth? And will the boys murder each other before they figure it out?
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 176,966
My Comments: Hoo-boy, folks. I don’t even know where to start with this Fic. I honestly get teary-eyed thinking about how beautiful it is and how much I loved this one. My favorite Tim Drake and Damian Wayne brotherly bonding Fic EVER. I would almost describe this Fic as a love letter to the characters Tim and Damian, in the sense that the author captures their characterizations beautifully and tells one of the best stories of growth and familial love I have ever read. It’s fluffy, angsty, humorous, and full of BatFamily feels. And don’t worry, there is plenty of Dick, Jason, and Bruce as well (If not a little later in the story). I would run to this Fic, if I were you.
Life, if Well Lived by CaptainOzone
Summary: Jason wakes up from a time-travel mishap to find Thomas and Martha Wayne hovering over him.
Just another day in the life, right?
...Not quite.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 10,758
My Comments: A Fic that destroyed me in the BEST way possible. Tears, so many tears were shed during this fic. The best Hurt/Comfort fic I have ever read. Extremely unique in the sense that Martha and Thomas Wayne are two of the main characters and boy did I love it! I can not stress how AMAZING this Fic is. I never knew I needed this fic in my life until I read it. I wish I could re-read it for the first time all over again. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!
My Brother’s Keeper by Forever_A_Thief
Summary: The boy had two options, two roads stretching out before him: stay with Mother, and become the greatest assassin ever known to man, or go to Father, and become a masked vigilante fighting for justice in a city drenched in darkness. Damian looked at these two roads, these two lives he could lead, and decided on a third path for himself instead. He chose his own road.
Jason never let himself think about the kid he had left behind at the desert compound all those years ago. When Talia never got in touch with him after his return to Gotham, Jason had assumed he had just been forgotten like he had been in Gotham. But then that kid, his little brother, showed up one night and Jason couldn’t just continue to push him to the back of his mind. Not anymore.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 43,907
My Comments: Did I mention I love Jason & Damian fics? Well I do and this one is beyond FANTASTIC. Overall great Bat-Bros fic that I would recommend over and over again. This fic is Damian and Jason centric but it does involve the rest of the Bat Family too. I love seeing all the brother’s bonding in this fic and the overall family feels 😊
Of Owls and Assassins by Cirth
Summary: "Dick," Bruce says, not entirely sure how to react, "who is that?"
Dick blinks at him from his place on the workout mat. There's a broken plate with mac and cheese strewn all over next to him, as well as what seems to be Bruce's old G.I. Joe action figure from the attic. It looks like a child's imagining of a murder scene. "My owlet," Dick states.
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 853
My Comments: The adorableness of this Fic is off the charts. I love AU’s where Dick is a Talon, but this one will always hold a very special place in my heart since Dick is just so pure in it. Forever a favorite <3
Party Games by @lemonadegarden
Summary: I can't believe you got into a bar fight at two in the morning. And now you're all in prison. The night before your wedding. What the fuck kind of a family am I marrying into?” Selina said.
Bruce Wayne goes to a series of bachelor parties, each one worse than the last. Set in the same timeline as We, So Much Older, but can be read as a standalone fic as well.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 12,659
My Comments: Okay, so technically this is a Selina Kyle/Bruce Wayne Fic and even though the plot premise revolves around their upcoming wedding, I wouldn’t really consider this a “slash” fic. There is definitely more BatFamily vibes with this fic. It’s hilarious, fun, and oh so wholesome! I love this fic beyond measure and even if you aren’t a fan of the BatCat ship, I highly suggest you give it a shot for the amazing BatFam moments.
Second Chance by @cdelphiki
Summary: When Talia al Ghul watched her toddling son start his training, his awful, grueling training, she had an epiphany:
The League of Assassins was no place for children.
(Or: Talia realizes training literal babies is abuse and gets him out of there.)
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 6,461
My Comments: This is the Talia al Ghul we deserve! This is the Talia al Ghul, Bruce Wayne deserves! THIS IS THE TALIA AL GHUL, DAMIAN WAYBE DESERVES! Loved this fic, great Talia al Ghul characterization. It’s the Talia that could have ben before DC slaughtered her character.
Running Headlong into My Arms by gleesquid
Summary: Bruce doesn’t like to credit one thing for saving his life, but if he did, it would be Haly’s Circus that Friday night in September, just as summer was beginning to die.
(He'll always be a sucker for kids with sad eyes, no parents, and more fight than the world knows what to do with.)
Or: in a universe where superheroes don't exist, Bruce Wayne finds his family.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 54,231
My Comments: I feel like this fic is a right of passage into the BatFamily fandom, so if by some chance you haven’t already read it, I highly suggest you move this straight to the top of your reading list. It’s a classic and has everything you could ever want in a BatFam Fic.
we are not alone in the dark by @audreycritter
Summary: Damian has a flashback on a family camping trip.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 2,218
My Comments: A BatFam camping trip, need I say more? One of my favorite hurt/comfort fics involving Damian. We get to see some super sweet moments between Bruce and Damian, and Damian and Jason. Loved it.
Where You Go, I Follow by @fishfingersandjellybabies
Summary: In some world, Dick Grayson was never revived by Lex Luthor, and was probably better for it.
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 1,427
My Comments: BROKE MY HEART, but in the best possible way. I cried both sad tears and happy tears for this fic. LOVED IT! I have read it at least six times (I’m going read it again after I post this rec). A fantastic Dick & Damian story. I also love the title; it captures the mood perfectly. I’m always a sucker for fics that are inspired by songs, this one was inspired by ‘I Will Follow You’ by Toulouse!
Video message incoming by helenabertinellis
Summary: The League are just wrapping up their meeting when a call comes through the Watchtower servers.
It's for Batman.
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Word Count: 1,228
My Comments: I consider this a classic BatFam fic, so I will be shocked if you haven’t read it, but on the off chance that you have not read it, GO READ IT NOW. It’s humorous and all so wholesome 😊
Yesterday’s Voices by @lemonadegarden
Summary: While trying to take down a drug cartel that deals with memory altering drugs, things go awry, and Batman wakes up with no recollection of the last five years.
As a result, his family must now race against time to find the antidote, while also having to deal with a Bruce who still thinks Jason is Robin. A Bruce who doesn't recognise most of them. A Bruce far less jaded and cynical than the one they're used to. A Bruce who still cares.
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 49,000
My Comments: Surprise, surprise another amazing fic by LemonadeGarden. I will be shocked if you haven’t read this fic yet, but on the off chance that you haven’t, I am telling you now, to RUN to this fic. It will forever and always be my MOST FAVORITE BATFAMILY fic out there. I honestly wish this fic never had ended, it’s one that will always hold a special spot in my heart. THIS IS THE BRUCE WAYNE WE DESERVE.

Character ask: Sleeping Beauty's Prince
Tagged by @ariel-seagull-wings.
These answers apply to the Prince from Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm's versions of the tale and all subsequent traditional retellings, as well as to Disney's animated Prince Phillip. They don't apply to any of the pre-Perrault versions of the character who impregnate the Princess in her sleep, nor do they apply to Prince Phillip from the live-action Maleficent duology.
Favorite thing about them: He's a charming fairy tale prince. Even though that archetype is easy to mock, it's still endearing. For Disney's Prince Phillip, let me add to that his warmth, courage, intelligence and sense of humor. He's definitely the best of the three Walt-era princes; Snow White and Cinderella's princes are stuffed shirts by comparison.
Least favorite thing about them: In the traditional tale, kissing a sleeping girl whom he doesn't know. The issue of consent is much more of a real issue here than it is in Disney's Snow White.
I don't think it's quite as much of an issue for Disney's Prince Phillip, though, because he and Aurora were already in love before she fell asleep, and because he knows the kiss will break the spell, as opposed to just kissing her because she's so pretty. About Phillip my least favorite thing is probably his bold pressing of his feelings onto the shy, withdrawing Aurora in "Once Upon a Dream." Of course it's just old-fashioned wooing, perfectly innocent by the standards of its time, but by modern standards, if a girl is reluctant to speak to you because you're a stranger, the appropriate response isn't "But we've met before... once upon a dream."
And for Perrault's Prince: For goodness' sake, how could you leave your ogress mother in charge of the kingdom and leave your wife and children in her care when you went off to war?! You knew she craved human flesh, you hid your marriage for two years to protect your wife and babies from her, but then...?! Perrault's bowdlerization of Sun, Moon and Talia (changing the wife who tries to kill her husband's mistress and illegitimate children into a flesh-craving ogress mother-in-law) is awkward and reduces the Prince to an idiot. The Grimms were wiser to cut that part of the story altogether and end with the awakening of Sleeping Beauty and her castle.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I like stories about princesses.
*Like Disney's Phillip, I love Aurora's singing voice.
*Also like Phillip, I like the color red.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm not royalty.
*I'm too shy either to kiss a sleeping person I've never met (traditional tale) or to romantically pursue a retiring stranger at first sight (Disney's Phillip).
*Unlike Disney's Phillip, I don't know how to handle a sword, so a dragon would probably make short work of me. Though if I had the fairies to help me, who knows?
Favorite line: From Disney's Phillip:
"Now Father, you're living in the past. This is the 14th century!"
BrOTP: His horse, Samson, from the Disney version.
OTP: Sleeping Beauty.
nOTP: The Old Fairy/Maleficent.
Random headcanon: Perrault's prince has always struggled with the fact that he's half ogre. He has cravings for human flesh too – nowhere near as strong as his mother's, because he's half human, but other people do smell all too tasty to him. Yet he manages to control that side of himself, so he naïvely assumes his mother can control it too, not realizing that she has no desire to control it.
Unpopular opinion: Even though the issue of non-consensual kisses deserves to be discussed, I don't think it makes either the Prince or the story unredeemable. Disney resolved it fairly well by having Aurora and Phillip effectively be already in a relationship when the kiss takes place (yes, it was Love at First Sight, but that's just a storytelling convention), but to do that they eliminated the 100 years of sleep from the original tale. I might be tempted to write a retelling that keeps the 100-year sleep, but draws inspiration from the scene in the ballet where the Lilac Fairy shows the Prince a vision of Aurora, and had the Prince communicate telepathically with Sleeping Beauty thanks to some magical intervention. Every night he would dream of meeting her and talking with her, while in the castle she would simultaneously have the same dream about him, and in the last dream before he actually finds her, she would give him consent to kiss her.
Song I associate with them:
The obvious: "Once Upon a Dream" from the Disney version:
youtube
"Slumber" from the Cannon Movie Tales version.
youtube
Favorite pictures of them:
This illustration by Charles Folkard:
This illustration by Jessie Wilcox Smith:
This one by Trina Schart Hyman – both here and in her Snow White, her bearded princes are a nice change of pace for fairy tale lovers who prefer manly men to pretty boys, and this moment with his bride-to-be and her parents is so joyous and sweet:
This illustration by Mercer Mayer – I like the way his clothes are tattered from fighting through the briars:
This illustration by Christian Birmingham:
Disney's Prince Phillip with Aurora:
Christopher Reeve in the Faerie Tale Theatre version:
Nicholas Clay with Tanhee Welch in the Cannon Movie Tales version:
Matthew Ball with Yasmine Naghdi in Tchaikovsky's ballet:

To All My Fathers (Chapter 1)
Summary: Damian Wayne, a fourteen year old with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, goes onto a road trip with the four men who shaped him as a person before his bone marrow transplant.
Fic also avaliable on FF.net
Damian had definitely decided he would not wear a fanny pack.
It didn't matter that it was the most convenient and comfortable way to take a chemo pump iv from place to place. He'll much rather attract attention with a backpack connected to a pump than to regress back to the eighties in the most horrendous fashion. Sure he might pick up unwanted attention from strangers but A) He could always stare at them back; B) He was past the time to care and C) He already didn't have eyebrows so that was kind of a moot point.
The boy was currently seated at the med bed of the 666 room. (Drake had made several jokes about it, which Damian didn't mind and in fact encouraged, because with his diagnosis came a morbid sense of humor and he was also glad at least one person still treated him like a human being). He was practicing violin while he could still hold it and also enjoying the fact that he was wearing actual comfortable clothes and not a paper robe that made his autism completely and utterly fucking lose it.
Some kids from the other rooms had come to see him perform and Damian loved to have an audience. Because he had an ego, not as much and not as evil as people usually thought, but still. Most of them were children younger than ten who just needed some entertainment that wasn't a superhero.
"This was Ode To Joy by Bethoveen," Damian explained. The three children around him applauded. When they stopped he could still hear hands clapping, he looked up and his eyes met his father's.
Bruce came closer to him and the kids left after being called by a nurse. Boy and man looked at each other for a few seconds.
"Are you ready?" Bruce finally asked
Damian might have sounded insane if he said it outloud, but his father and Jon were very similar.
The blue eyes, the black hair and the fact that they both cried before or after entering a room with Damian in it, bonus points if he was being stabbed with a needle right at that moment, then you could see their eyes getting crystalized almost in slow motion.
And it's not like Damian was annoyed by their emotions as one might have thought, it was more of a...sting, (man being stabbed with a needle on a daily basis was really taking a toll on him, wasn't it?) like, something that hurt but it wasn't enough for him to do anything about it more than to grit his teeth and power through it.
Numbness was apparently a common thing among patients. But Damian thought of himself as many stuff, but common wasn't one of them
And perhaps his ego was the only thing keeping him optimistic, perhaps thinking that he was too special to die alone in a hospital room was what made him stronger against the whole GvHD thing.
Leslie had told him that he was lucky to find a donor that was relatively near, in Kansas nonetheless, home of Superman and. So now he had just to keep up with the program: L-asparaginase,dexamethasone and vincristine several times a day and wait.
Or at least that was the original plan.
"Yes." he finally answered, standing up.
When all you receive in your life is gaslighting, you don't even notice the medical gaslighting.
Maybe it was the whole "being indoctrinated since birth by an ecoterrorist death cult" thing but his ability to exercise his free will hadn't been particularly developed.
The bruises? Vigilante stuff. The fever? Probably the flu. Weight loss? Maybe he had gotten a growth spurt that just made him seem thinner…He had to throw up blood to even be admitted into a hospital.
The Wayne-Head name allowed him the finest care probably ever known to man. "Nepotism: where you can die comfortably" that was an actual thing he had said while high on sedatives. He could only imagine his mother's face upon hearing it.
When he woke up both his parents were there. Damian could immediately tell something was wrong. His father was crying and his mother was stoic.
"Oh, ok, so I'm dying" He said, grabbing their attention. Both Talia and Bruce turn to look at him. Damian tried to sit and noticed his arm was cranked to an IV. "Oh, I'm actually dying."
"Do not speak like that." His mother warned him with a threatening voice. Bruce kept quiet but still with a face wet with tears.
Next to them there was a third person. She was an older woman with gray hair and glasses. Doctor Thompkins, his father's godmother. She went over to the medbed and sat on the foot. Damian crossed his arms. She was a smart woman but had the annoying habit of treating him like a perpetual child. Probably the closest thing he had to an actual grandmother.
"Damian," she fixed her glasses and looked at the clipboard she was holding. "Your blood count is in the 200.000 white cells."
Damian's eyes slightly widened, which covertly hid how much of a gut punch he just received.
"I can't have leukemia," he simply stated. There was a slight pained sound coming from his father's mouth which made Damian look him in the eye…that's how he knew it was true.
He started to grin which turned into a giggle which turned into a laugh.
Bruce and Talia looked at him with worry.
"Denial is very common," Leslie stated, trying to remain calm and also sooth Damian up. The teen kept laughing and then stopped to talk.
He had tears in his eyes. "I mean... so much for being an eugenics frankenstein monster, I've failed at even that."
The rest of that afternoon was a blur for him. Except for the being stabbed with needles on his spine parts, that one he remembered very well. Since he had such a high tolerance for pain, the fact that he was casually hurt was news to him.
Of course Dick had been the first one to enter the room.
Damian had hoped that he wasn't but after all it made sense that he did, he was his Robin. He could imagine him punching a wall and screaming when he heard the news. That mental image didn't upset him at all, clearly.
Damian was pretending to watch TV where his oldest brother entered the scene. He had prepared what he was going to say. How he was okay and how he was too stubborn to die anyways. But all of that went to hell when Dick entered the room and immediately ran up to hug him.
All of the walls he had been building up until now feel down hard. Damian just had to press his head against Dick's shoulder for the tears to start running.
"I want a falafel."
They were in the hospital room after a particularly hard session of chemo. His brother was on a chair in front of him reading a book and not looking at him.
"You just threw up on my shoe," he reminded Damian.
"I'm here for a good time, not a long time"
Dick rolled his eyes, now accustomed to the fact that his sibling had developed a morbid sense of humor because of his condition. Right at that moment the door opened and Doctor Thompkins entered the room.
"How are we?" She asked.
"Great." Both responded almost robotically. Damian gagged.
"I wanted to talk to you, Dick, about the bone marrow transplant."
"Why not talk to me?" Damian intervened. "I'm the one whose blood isn't working."
"Because you're still a child," Dick answered as a matter of fact. And despite everything he was glad his older brother at least now had the courtesy of treating him like he had always done. "What's the prognosis, doc?"
"We're considering the umbilical cord transfusion." Leslie explained. "But you will have to ask my godson first.
"Why would he need to...wait...Selina's pregnant?!" Damian asked but then he threw up again. "That wasn't meant to signify my feelings on the matter."
Leslie continued. "But that will still take a few months and...I'm afraid we don't have that much time."
Damian pretended to gag and looked down at the bucket, all to avoid looking at Dick's face.
"But the good news is that we found a match."
Damian hadn't even had time to think about that sentence before he blurted it out, but now it was there, out in the open. For everyone to hear.
"I want to have children."
Everyone being an hyperbole since Alfred was the one who was actually there. His father had to go to patrol so the butler had the night shift to take care of Damian while at the hospital to which the boy was appreciative of. Except for this moment when he was mentally slapping himself for letting on too much. Side effects of being raised to be a killing machine.
"I...did not know that." Alfred admitted. Up to twelve seconds ago he had been standing up listing the symptoms of chemo at Damian's request since he didn't trust Leslie to do it without sugarcoating it and his father might burst into tears in an attempt to do so. Damian had been listening attentively before Alfred mentioned that it was possible that he might wind up being infertile.
The boy simply turned around to the other side of the bed and sighed as tears left his eyes.
Dear Damian
I could not be more content that you are receiving the transplant that you so much need. I wish I could accompany you on the journey to Kansas, but sadly Lady Talia needs me to look out after Bialya...I wish you nothing but a rapid recovery. I implore you to remember that you are not alone in this, to remember that there is a plethora of people that adore you with all of their souls and that you will always have their help. Even when you do not want it.
Best Wishes
Ravi.
Damian looked at Alfred who glanced at him for a nanosecond in the mirror of the car. He knew he was the most active ally he had in this game. Since he not only advocated to his father for this trip to be possible but he also was the only person to always show his compassion in spite of if he actually deserved it or not. Bruce was next to him while Richard sat next to Damian and assesed his condition.
They stayed in comfortable silence in the car with only the sound of "dad music" on the radio for background noise. Damian allowed himself to close his eyes and to feel the soothing bounce of the car against the pavement on his skin...
They stopped suddenly after a while and Damian opened his eyes, he frowned in confusion as Alfred parked the car in front of the airport.
"What are we doing here?" he asked curiously.
Alfred turned around to look at him. "Your father , Master Richard and I thought It'll be a good idea to fly in a friend of yours."
Damian's frown deepened. "A friend?"
Suddenly a tap was heard on the window. They both turned around to look at the front window. It was being slightly knocked on it by a man with a white cane and a bald head who was smiling at them.
"Ravi?" Damian rubbed his eyes and felt them watering up.
Damian knew that he could never make up to Ravi for being responsible for losing his vision. And he also knew that in spite of that the man would still love him unconditionally.
That could be proven easily by the letters that he had written to him when he found out about his diagnosis…
All his father figures were here, suddenly he felt an internal strength he hadn't felt in a while.

What do you think s1 and 2 girls (plus MC) would do if they participated in a Ms Love Island contest?
whoa whoa whoa... hold up.
that’s an awesome question! let me think about that...
‘season 1′
allegra. obnoxiously giving her partner a lap dance. something that would make everyone roll their eyes because at some point, she was really forcing it with mason or miles-jasper. that’s probably the moment mc says something snarky to throw her off her game.
cherry. being a ‘west end’ performer i think she would come up with a quick dance. something that she had done before, but with a little more heat, to try and win the votes.
erikah. she’s an actress and i can see her pulling someone from the audience to deliver a romantic act, something cute but goofy, to make the boys laugh. and that’s probably following the advice tim might’ve given her, which is a good one.
jen. can’t help but thinking it would be something boring. some school trick to memorize counties. don’t get me wrong, it’s interesting, but not at all on the level of what the girls would’ve prepared and would get the boys rolling eyes a little bit.
mc. definitely something sexy. no doubt about it. i can even see her teasing the boys by delivering a quick close up performance to seal the deal. if i’m allowed to trip a little, she would pull a lucas off. diving in the pool, slowly using the ladder, proceeding to start her show all wet.
talia. she would try something comedic. she has an acid sense of humor and that might’ve been her best shot. she’s very hot, but doesn’t like that type of exposure and doesn’t really know what to do in public.
‘season 2′
chelsea. oof. if the heart rate challenge showed us anything is that chelsea has a slight panic to get sexy in public. i think a comedic routine would serve her here. something that she pulled on the heart rate challenge.
hope. she could sing and play a bassoon. make it interesting and impossible not to sing along. something the boys might all like, maybe queen? i would like to see that! she was in a cover metal band so she would definitely use that in her advantage.
lottie. something in the lines of the ‘heart rate challenge’. because at that point i think she would use this opportunity to show rocco what he’s missing out and what gary could get if they coupled up, which is clever.
marisol. something nerdy and sexy. definitely serving the sexy librarian fantasy and catering to the guy she’s with at the time, which is rocco.
mc. it really depends on the personality here, but i can assure mc would be S-E-X-Y if she went for it. that’s pretty much what all the boys are thinking and she wouldn’t waste the opportunity. might also be a good bet between her and priya.
priya. something outrageously sexy, but incredibly bold. it could include a couple of laps, like noah’s and ibrahim’s, even if she wasn’t coupled up with either of them. definitely sending the girls to hell and back with her hair tossing and sexy moves. and if she combined spelling of sexy words, that would jut be goofy but sexy priya i love so much.

describe some of your friends on here as litg characters
Ok, okay. Let’s hope my friends take this with a grain salt because I’m truly just trying to flatter them. Like c’mon if you know me, I tend to be a chaotic fan of them and their works.
@ravenadottir — is most definitely Felix... 😂 I’m kidding, don’t tell my mum. LOL. Nah, they remind me of Noah and Lucas for sure. They’re one of the people I didn’t know I needed. They’ve been a rock *cue the tears* they were there on one of my lowest days. On a non-emotional note tho, they’re actually very sassy and I definitely dig their sense of humor. They’re sassy and classy. I’ll leave it there before I have to hide because they’ll probably tell me to shut up.
@sunshinejihyun — to me, you give me Bobby and Jake vibes. You’re sweet and I love to hear you talk about the things you’re passionate about. Who would’ve known we share so many interests? You’re such a great friend and despite how life’s treated you, you always seem to have kindness and love to share with others.
@kittidot — I know you’re probably like, how the heck does Tuesdays have the right to describe me? We just started conversing a few months back. But like our convos are always wholesome and funny. You give Henrik vibes simply because of how sweet and kind you are. Let me not go off on a rant about how talented you are too.
@lilithlibrxa — hun, you give me Talia vibes. You’re probably like, huh? And I’ll tell you why, you’re both such stand-up people, sticking up for your friends, checking up on them and I love that. But you can also be a goofball and Talia talking about her boy band love reminds me of you. I would say Lottie too, but typically she’s associated with hypocrisy and girl code whatnot and I didn’t want you to think that’s what I meant. You just seem to exude mysterious and magical vibes.
@nerdferatum — oh, hun, you’re my Tim. You’re so nurturing and so kind. You’ve got this vibe to you that says, yes I live in my world (your art) and you’re so confident when it comes to things you're passionate about. I love that.

2, 5, and 15 for the fic asks?
What is your favorite snippet of dialogue?
I don’t think I have a single snippet. There’s too many exchanges I like... So have a smattering of my favs.
From Cry ‘Havoc’
“My queen.” The figure in black stood in front of the glowing ray shields. Unmoving and deadly patient.
“Did you mean it?” The words ripped themselves out of her mouth before she realized she was going to voice them. She almost wanted to take them back but it didn’t matter. At this point, nothing mattered.
The helmet — the visage of nightmares to many of her man, the herald of death to even more — tilted, confused.
“Every word I have spoken since we were trapped within the temple has been sincere.”
The air around them rang with truth. She didn’t understand how she knew that; she didn’t even care anymore. Something loosened in her chest and she could breathe again. She hadn’t even realized she had been struggling, her chest heaving as she took her first full breaths since the had news come in.
Her fist slammed into the panel next to the cell, bringing the shields down. Setting him loose. Her other hand curled around a blade, still humming that mournful — frighteningly familiar — tone.
“If you meant it,” she bit out, furious at the pirates, at the situation, at him, “bring them back.”
“I am yours.”
From The Corner of Divinity
“Your enemies are my enemies.” The man said, his voice rough. “I have brought you your most hated foe to do with as you will. A gift in good will; in greatest care.”
“My greatest monster.” Jason stated, a tremble in his voice.
“Your greatest fear.”
“My greatest fear.” Jason agreed as he slowly took the blade, examining it. He tested its weight and balance. Tested the sharpness of the blade. Each part of this ceremony was important. Carried weight. Meant something. From the quality of the blade to the gift presented. Not that he ever thought Deathstroke himself would deign to own a substandard weapon. He hesitated just a moment. Only a moment. Then, he took Slade's hand back and placed the hilt of the knife back into it.
Staring into Slade’s eye, he voice low with intent he asked him, “Destroy it for me?”
From As Long As You Learn
“Master Yoda is right. We’ll do better this time, padawan.” Anakin slumps, falling back on his heels. “Come get your kid, Kenobi.”
From Pull Back The Curtain
“You can’t tell me, your majesty, that you don’t know what you’ve done.” He pinches the bridge of his nose and the cup he was holding clatters on the saucer as it’s placed back on the table.
“At least,” he says, a little more gently, “you were kind. I do have to thank you for that.”
Obi-Wan looks up at her, grief in his eyes but jaw clenched with still present fury. He tips his head at her in mock deference, “Thank you for being kind when you took my padawan to bed, Senator. No one else has been as conscientious.”
Her heart beats a frantic tattoo in her ears. What?
“What?” She croaks. Anakin... no one else... gentle? Separately, the words make sense but strung together she can’t parse their meaning. She doesn’t understand but the words that Obi-Wan is saying, everything he is implying, makes her think she’s supposed to.
Makes her think that all of this is supposed to be common knowledge.
What is she missing? What does everyone else know? Who should have told her?
Icy fingers crawl up her spine and her stomach turns. Something is very wrong.
Obi-Wan chuckles but there is no humor in the laugh. It is a dark thing. Almost poisonous as it leaves his mouth.
“Surely you didn’t think you had been the only one.”
There is something low and unpleasant threaded through his voice now. Something hateful. Padmé wishes for the restrained fury from before. Even though it had been directed at her then. Even though this hate now was not.
“Anakin has been a favorite of the Chancellor for several years now.”
From Best Laid Plans Not Sober
The boy’s grew wide and he looked at Jason in confusion, “I thought Alfred was our grandfather.”
“He is.” Jason affirmed.
He saw the older man place a hand to his chest out of the corner of his eye and his heart ached. He wanted to go to him... but making sure Damian understood was more pressing.
“Then why is he serving, akhi?” The boy demanded. “He should not be lowering himself to such a position!”
“Alfred serves because he loves us.” Jason explained patiently, cheeks still a swath of red but slowly fading. “He wants to take care of us and make sure we’re healthy. It’s how he shows his love.”
Damian tilted his head in thought. “Like when you killed the lion.” There was a sharp intake of breath from the table. Tim. Jason felt the flush renew. Great. That was the last piece of information he needed floating around the manor.
“Like when I killed the lion.” Jason affirmed with a resigned nod. “I’m a protector, like Dad. Alfie’s a carer. People have different ways of showing their love. It’s not the only way they show it, but typically it’s what comes more naturally.”
“I understand.” The boy lowered his head. “I am sorry.”
“It’s not me you need to tell.” Jason chastised softly, “Either way, even if Alfie was staff and not family, I know I taught you better manners than that.”
“But Mother-”
“Is not here.” He stated firmly. He knew what kind of image they had to keep there. Knew what Talia said. “This is not Nanda Parbat. You do not have an image to uphold.” Jason continued, “Even when you do, manners are not a detriment to that image. Do you understand?”
“Not entirely.” The boy admitted. “But I’ll try.”
“That’s all I ask. I will never demand more than your best effort.”
What’s your favorite headcanon you use in fics?
I have a whole host of them, actually. Though, some of them I only use for certain fics. I have a whole file on Tatooine worldbuilding that I’m slowly introducing to different verses. They’re getting a lot of screen time in Kidnapping AU, actually. I have headcanon reasons for Anakin wearing black and background info and ideas. I don’t actually want to give too much away, here, but I’d rather see you guys slowly be like “... O.O ThATS SO COOL” when you read it.
And, I mean, Eli and I are now collaborating on a whole series of one of my favorite headcanons, Shmi had a wife.
OH, WAIT -- my absolute FAVORITE headcanon that seems to make its way into everything is that the marble of the Temple feels warm to the touch if you’re Force sensitive. Due to all the thousands of years of positive emotions -- of family, and love, and home -- that have seeped into it.
I haven’t seen anyone else use this so I think it’s mineminemine! :)
Give us a snippet of something from your WiPs!
Hmmm... What do I have that isn’t super spoilery or that I’ve given before...
They were hunting him.
He could feel them move through the halls. Sweeping rooms, their minds intent. Searching.
He needed to hide. He needed to get away. Until it was dark. Until it was safe. The night was safety on Tatooine, as the Three Sisters rose in the sky and the Masters slept. A time when the slaves could gather and tell stories. A time when they could slip their chains for a few hours and breath together. Laugh together. Love together.
A time to run.
Darkness meant safety. Meant the cooling air after the deadly heat of the day and freedom from the master’s gaze. Darkness meant the embrace of family.
He needed to find the dark.
He could feel it. Beneath his feet. Beneath the Temple.
It called.
On silent feet, he ran, pressing himself to walls when he felt the brush of another mind. The intent of the hunt around him. The marble of the floor was warm against the soles of his bare feet as he crept through disused halls.
He was stepping through the alleys of Mos Eisley. Silently, on the heels of his mother as she left to attend an illness in the slave village. Then, he put a foot down and it was on the dusty duracrete floors of Watto’s shop. The Toydarian sneering at him, hand raised in threat.
Anakin cowered.
Then, it was the gravel of Gardulla’s slave quarters, watching as his mother dragged away. Before he’d learned that crying was a waste of water.
When the Temple came back into view, Anakin didn’t know where he was, but it was dark, and it was cool, and it was safe.
It must be safe.

This is your spoiler warning about Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. I’ll put it in the tags too.
But basically, I thought it was beautifully done. It was violent, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and I just felt so many emotions during it all. Truly, it was a master piece to me. Let’s start from the beginning.
John and Zatanna were great together. I love their chemistry, and knowing that they had seemingly worked out their issues since the first JLD, and it’s just lovely. The humor of Bruce being a cockblock was a nice touch.
When discussing Apokolips showing up on Earth’s doorstep, I think they did a good job of showing Superman’s trauma. He is the big blue Boy Scout, and is usually level headed and reasonable but you could see his encounter with Doomsday and Hank in Reign of the Superman, fucked with him and it showed there. To the point where he angerily damages part of their conference room, and is being stubborn with his plan. He didn’t want to take any chances with Darkseid again.
The jump from them flying into Apokolips and the paradoomen (that’s my new name for them), shattering their window to Earth, 2 years later, on fire and practically desolate, was harsh. It was like, they didn’t win. And it allowed us to get backstory, from multiple perspectives, which I thought was nice. John drinking was a good touch, as it shows his serious signs of PTSD, and guilt. Etrogen not even rhyming because he doesn’t see the point was just a hard hitting reminder that this world fucking sucked.
The first encounter between Superman, raven, and John was great. Raven’s annoyance, and “oh fuck this” were perfect. She’s already got a million things to be worried about, a drunk man and a drunk demon don’t need to be added to them. Also Etrogen just burping fire onto the paradoomen was great. A bit of humor to lighten up the dark bits. We also learned a bit more about what happened to the justice league, and got to see many of them visocusly ripped apart or seriously maimed. Knowing that Darkseid didn’t kill all of them either was horrifying, as you know many of them were actually better off dead at some point. John’s sarcastic nature was helpful to not make it too dark and depressing.
Next, to my best boy Damian, who immediately stops the battle with one word and threatens Superman, blaming him for the loss of his teammates and his father. This immediately stops when Raven collapses and we see a range of emotions cross his face, and we all saw those screen caps and they were every bit as good in the movie. He immediately sets aside his disdain for Superman and is worried about her. Finding out Dick died in front of him, protecting him from a paradoomen is super fucking depressing. Learning that he used a Lazarus pit to bring him back but it not working is even worse, and then we get gutted with the line of “he was my brother”. Like you can stop now, my heart can only bleed so much.
Next is the group going to see the suicide squad. First, seeing Lois Lane fight Harley Queen was hot as hell. Secondly, boomerang and John calling each other names and both ending on “wanker” was golden. Third, which this should have honestly been first but it just crossed my kind, is Damian, back in his Robin costume instead of his League of Assassins getup, was chicken noodle soup for my batboy soul. Honestly first thing should have been that king shark and John fucking is CANON. Continuing, Superman actively and positively cheering on Lois in her fight was adorable, and I liked it. Damian and Raven admitting their feelings for each other was great, and I’m really happy that this was the endgame.
Getting to LexCorp tower, and finding out Lex is the sleeper who was feeding Lois information was amazing, because we all wanted it to be Batman, and think that he had actually fought off Darkseid’s brainwashing, and was just in a deep cover until the right time came. But it showed that even Batman can break. They lost a lot of people in the tower, and watching a beast of a woman like Lady Shiva die was terrible, but I will say it felt almost meaningless. I do wish Damian had more of a reaction, as I’m sure he actually knew Shiva quite well, due to his time with the league of assassins since he was born, and when he went back to rule them after losing all of his friends and family. But I guess you can only take so many people to Apokolips. Story wise, it does make sense, it just seemed like it had very little impact on someone who I figured it would have a bigger impact on. Seeing all of Lex’s of kryptonite was good. “I had issues.” Was a great line.
The next part on Apokolips was horrifying. We get cyborg resemblances of what’s left of the justice league. It was physically awful to look at, and I’m sure for our heros, probably doing some psychological damage. The other part of that, took place in Darkseid’s throne room. I will say, I do not buy for one second that Damian would not avoid a laser beam. He’s not out of practice, and he’s been in extreme turmoil before. Back to the throne room, that was a masterfully thought out scene. And I would like to pinpoint the exact climax of the movie, which I found to be my second favorite part, the ending being my favorite part. But it’s not John debugging cyborg and the others, it’s not the beginning of the fight with cyborg, and not even Batman’s fight with Damian. The climax of the movie is when Bruce is getting ready to kill Damian and all of a sudden, he sees himself face to face with Joe Chill, at 8 years old, and dead parents in front of him. Bruce seeing himself in his blood son was the climax of the movie, because it set off the rest of the events for the rest of the movie. Batman breaks and throws the sword at Darkseid. He gets pissed and sends Omega beams towards Bruce, and Damian steps in front and takes it, which does kill him, and that breaks Raven, and she has John free trigon, who invaded Superman’s body, and it just continues from there, until they all got to leave and Darkseid and his paradoomens, along with trigon, end up stuck in the middle of nowhere. We get the damirae kiss at the end, and the flash starting another flashpoint, effectively ending this current continuity, and setting up another one, which I think really went well, considering this is the last movie in this continuity.
Now touching on the previous point of why the climax is my second favorite part of the movie, I never explained why it was that. And for me, it’s because it didn’t have any long winded “good man” speech to accompany it. Don’t get me wrong, I think it worked well with bad blood. But Talia only had him for a little over 2 weeks. Darkseid’s had him for at least 2 years. So it would take more than some words to get it together. But it couldn’t be just any action or any thought. The one thing that pulled him out of Darkseid’s control, is the event that created Batman. It was poetic, and it just worked for me. What better way to come to your senses than to just see the original, and just be like “this is who I am.” Damian mentioned this earlier in the movie too, that Dick’s death almost broke him, the key word being almost. I thought it was great, because Batman took Dick in, because he saw himself in Dick. Dick was the first Robin, and the next in-line to the mantel. Losing any of your children isn’t easy, but losing your first son, and the one who’s always been there is even harder. But it wasn’t enough to break him.
Now I’ll be talking about some things I really liked in this movie that I didn’t include up above, one of them being John Stewart’s last stand on Oa. John, is seemingly the last green lantern alive, the guardians are dead, and any green lanterns that were making a last stand were quickly and brutally dealt with. John is right in front of the source of the green lantern power, and he’s so close. He’s almost got it, the fist is raised, and Darkseid asks for a transfer of some of earth’s magma core onto Oa. He’s burned up, along with the power source for green lanterns. It’s super crushing because you were hoping, that even if he didn’t kill Darkseid, which he probably wasn’t going to, he could at least try to slow him down. But we never got there.
Another thing I liked is when Zatanna reveals that John didn’t run away on his own accord, and that Batman always has a contingency plan. Zatanna knew she was going to die at that point but made sure John made it out so the others could have a shot at eventually winning. First of all, holy shit that is traumatizing, watching someone you love die and you’re running away. But I’m assuming other magicians can feel when magic is being used on them, and so John is so upset with what’s happening that he doesnt even feel the magic being used. He just thinks he ran away, tail between his legs, because he was scared.
Raven letting go and using her demon powers to protect them from the laser beams and then afterwards “I will kill you boy” before immediately calming down and apologizing. Raven letting go to grab Luther and threatening him “no one will mourn you” was *chef’s kiss* everything I ever needed. Damian and Raven were so protective of each other this movie and it was so sweet to watch. You could really see that he did have feelings for her and it was just sweet.
Another part I liked was John offering himself up to Trigon to use as a host body and Trigon said “fuck that” and jumped into Superman, which if you look closely, burned the liquid kryptonite out of his body, which did allow him to return to his normal form when he watched Lois die, which holy shit. Wow. That was uh depressing. But it allowed Superman to gain control again, and it made sense on why Superman was back in his normal form. The other thing, is that Trigon is already a strong being, and from his past experience with the justice league, he knows Superman is strong too. It all made sense, and I do think it was done well.
Finally, John finding out that the Flash is the reason for this is amazing and also depressing, because at this point, if you’ve seen flashpoint paradox, Barry will have to sacrifice his mom to save the rest of the world. A world where everyone is alive. You also find out that their plan to blow up the generator won’t work because flash is the generator. They also use flash at the beginning to tell everyone that he’s seen what happens and that this may not be the time to do it. At the end, broken, battered, and utterly depressed, he knows what he needs to do. Create another flashpoint. I know I mentioned it above, but it really does bring a nice end to this animated universe and opens up the door for a new one. It does seem a little deus ex machina to me, but it’s not overly outlandish like time travel in the quantum realm using pym particles (looking at you marvel). The kiss at the end between Raven and Damian was perfect, because they truly were endgame and that’s all my baby bird heart wanted.
Basically all I wanted to say with this really long post is that I liked Justice Leage Dark: Apokolips War.

JOKER
J - Jealousy: It’s fairly rare when Bruce does get jealous. How do you feel inadequate when you’re the ‘boy who has everything’? Bruce is an emotional slab of marble, and doesn’t really wear his emotions on his leave. He slinks away from the spotlight and into the shadows, prefering to stand in the periphery rather than center stage. There have been times where he has felt some jealousy. Definitely would happen with Selina/Catwoman, if she did have interest in another man (besides Batman), like if she was with Harvey Dent. But even in Telltale Games, once she realized Bruce was Batman, she became alot more infatuated and interested in him, and his motives.
And then there’s Diana, where Bruce’s eyes kind of shift away in subtle ways, and he drifts off whenever Steve Trevor’s name is mentioned, knowing the pilot’s place in Wonder Woman’s heart, and knowing it is an uphill battle to compare in her eyes. Because he does like her, and is inspired by her.
O - Ode - Batman does most of the time have a quick witted sense of humor, making quips in James Bond fashion, but otherwise is the strong, and silent type, not really believing in overwhelming conversation and ‘talking too much’.
K - Kiss - No complaints from his female companions. He knows what to do to sweep the girl off their feet, with his actions, projecting the right amount of emotion into the moment, whatever it is.
E - Embrace - He loves them. His sons get them more than most. Usually something hard, and loud, and sometimes he rubs their back too, while embracing them, usually during some kind of emotional moment or pep talk.
R - Romance - Bruce’s views on romance change with the wind. Sometimes he feels hopeless that his crusade to save Gotham is going to require the ultimate commitment, and sacrifice, to achieve the desired effect, perhaps even his life and his chance of a normal, white-picket-fenced love affair with someone else. His jaunts with Selina and Talia into romance has given him new hope of happiness, and a lasting connection with someone, as well as his non canon ships.

Get a Life Chloe Brown
Get a Life Chloe Brown is a romantic comedy, written by Talia Hibbert. It follows Chloe Brown, a freelance web designer from a wealthy family, who one day has a near death experience. This shakes her profoundly, not just for the obvious reasons, but also because she realizes that if she were to die, she would have nothing to show for herself; no friends, no boyfriend, no adventure and no interesting events. In an effort to change that she makes a list of things to do, and meets a person that just might help her do it: Redford, her new superintendent. I was interested in this book ever since I heard it was coming out, because the premise, for whatever reason reminded me of a mix of two things: the profoundly stupid, yet profoundly watchable film What’s Your Number, and Michelle Pfeiffer’s story-line in New Years Day. This book is neither stupid nor silly; it’s one of the funniest, well written rom-coms I’ve ever read, and not since Red White and Royal Blue, have I liked two characters this much. Let’s start with the writing. I didn’t know Hibbert was British, but one page in and this book was so British it hurt. From the jokes to the banter, I felt like I was watching an episode of Bad Education, and I laughed out loud more times than I can count. Both characters are very snarky, and Chloe especially has a rather dry sense of humor that comes off as rude to others, because it’s so stiff. I found it hilarious, though the real standout for me was Red, because his internal monologues had me in stitches. Let me give you a sample of the jokes, here are a few. “We definitely have bears” “We don’t. If we had bears, it’d be in the news all the time. You know. Fine upstanding British man attacked by a bear. EU to blame. Brexit now.” Gigi appeared helpfully on her shoulder and said “Don’t mumble, darling. Nice big words. Repeat after me: ‘I want to ride you like a stallion.’” “Red snorted: ‘Who are you, Dr. Phill?’ ‘Ah, don’t start that manly crap. We talk about our feelings in this house, boy.’ ‘Can I talk about my feelings for your wife?’ ‘This bowl would be a great hat on you’” This couldn’t be more up my alley. Outside of the humor, the writing on the characters was equally well done. Not only do we get a very good sense of both Red and Chloe as individuals, but Hibbert makes the chemistry between them palpable. I believed that these two people could barely hold off from ripping each other’s clothes off, and later, when they became more emotionally invested, I believed in their romance. All the characters are well written; from Chloe’s family, especially her sisters, to Red’s friend Vic and even his mother. Because we get POVs from both Chloe and Red, I was worried they might sound the same, because both are such snarky characters, but they didn’t; they have very different personalities and ways of approaching their problems, which I found was translated quite well. The plot wasn’t particularly complex; it mostly just follows Chloe making a deal with Red so he can help her tick off things on her list, and slowly getting an understanding of what is actually important to her and what isn’t. The book does also follow Red coming to some realizations of his own, notably what he wants to do with his life, now that he’s escaped an abusive relationship. Which leads me to two points of caution for this book. The first is that the cover and the synopsis might mislead you into thinking that this is straight up comedy, which it is, but more in the vein of How to Be Single or Trainwreck. There are some really heavy topics discussed in this book: there is the aftermath of an abusive relationship, disability, trauma from loss, PTSD even, and a very brutal verbal fight that doesn’t pull punches. It’s a funny book, but it has surprising depth, and Hibbert really touches on some heavy and complicated topics, while maintaining an overall light tone. There’s even a warning on the first page of the book about some of the triggers, so tread lightly. The other point are the sex scenes. Now, readers of romance, and those who are familiar with Hibbert’s other work, will probably know that this book has sex scenes. I’ve heard from other people that they either found them extremely hot or completely over the top. I fall in the former category; the sex is explicit, but I think the scenes are paced well, are genuinely engaging and steamy and actually explore the characters, and their growing attraction to each-other. The only critique I do have is that the characters, especially Red do sound a bit OOC in them, because there’s a lot of dirty talk that is a bit much even for him, but honestly, outside of laughing at it, it didn’t personally bother me. Let’s talk about characters. There aren’t many, but each gets a moment to shine. Out of the supporting cast, my favorite was Vic, though I can’t wait for Evelyn’s book, because she seemed like a hoot too. Out of the leads, let’s start with Red. Redford, who I imagine is named after the dog, being a ginger and all is a charming, attractive and confident man, who has been through a really abusive relationship that has made him spiral into bad decision making. He has quite a few flaws, the most notable being a chip on his shoulder about being treated as a spectacle, or a commodity, by people who are richer than him and can therefore buy him in many ways; buy him for his looks, his time, his talent or just simply observe him like some kind of circus animal. I found all of his quirks understandable and well written; he does make some stupid decisions, and he seems to be incapable of saying no. But he was the better adjusted lead out of the two, which was nice. He did veer off into being a little too perfect and considerate at time, which was just a tad unrealistic, but I really liked his personality a lot. Then we have Chloe who I adored, even though she falls definitely in the tradition of quirky, type A female protagonists. She is obsessed with lists, organization, planning out her days and her life, and there’s a good reason for that: she suffers from fibromyalgia. I will admit; while I do know two people in my life who have, fibromyalgia I knew very little about the disorder. I didn’t know that it seems to be caused by trauma for one, nor did I know that it leads to brain fog or short term memory loss. I think the way the illness was described in the book, and the way it impacted Chloe’s life was presented very well; I can definitely understand and sympathize with how she had developed her coping mechanisms, the healthy and unhealthy ones. Chloe is a very strong character; she is funny, she is smart, she is witty, and what I liked most was she knew her limits, knew when to push and when to take a break, and was actively fighting to live a life she would be proud of, in spite of fibromyalgia. I really liked how well Hibbert explored both what it’s like to live with an invisible illness, and the toll it takes both on the person and those around them, but also how having an illness or a disability doesn’t mean that the person can’t take care of them-self or live a perfectly good life. I’m not disabled, so I can’t speak to that representation, but as just a humble reader who wanted to learn a bit more, I was satisfied. One other thing to note is that Chloe is both plus size and black. In terms of race I appreciated the conversation she had with Red about privilege, and I think perhaps a bit more could have been explored on that front. In terms of weight, Chloe’s weight is mentioned at several points, but it’s not really a factor. I kind of liked that; Chloe gets to be a fat girl who is content with her life, and it’s not even a factor. It was nice. Overall, this book was great. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s very sexy, and it tackles some deeper issues and topics like class and disability in a nuanced and lighthearted way. If you are looking for a good romance with some substance, I highly recommend it.
