FIRE EMBLEM CONQUEST REWRITTEN IS COMPLETE

After over a year of editing, re-formatting and fighting against Google Docs, my developmental editing project "Fire Emblem Conquest Rewritten" is finally done!

For those who don't know, this project is my love letter to the game and to the franchise as a whole. Taking the story of Fire Emblem Conquest, I put it under a microscope to analyze the pieces of story left on the cutting room floor from its rushed development cycle, and help improve the story without changing any of its core story beats. Rather than changing plot events entirely such as Lilith's death, I include her in more scenes beforehand to give her death a stronger impact. The outcome stays the same, the buildup and framing is brand new!

STREAMLINED PAGE LAYOUTS

I've spent an entire week re-formatting all of the google docs to make them more cohesive. The reading experience is now much more streamlined for fans of Fire Emblem, or those who may be unfamiliar with the story entirely.

Frustrated in getting the scripts from a wiki? Not interested in the rewrites? No problem! This project provides full scripts of the original Conquest storyline in one consistent format, free to use!

A CONSTRUCTIVE DISSECTION OF THE CONQUEST STORYLINE

Do you wish that Lilith had a more significant role in the story? That the Nohrian royals could all have unique dialogue against Garon in Chapter 27? That Garon was less blatantly evil and more of an abusive father? This project builds upon all of these things and more! Including but not limited to:

-Camilla learning basic empathy and becoming the older sister that her family needs -The Kitsune Tribe's massacre gaining genuine story significance and not being forgotten after the chapter ends -Characters like Katarina and Arete, though still off screen, gaining more prominent significance in the story as late mothers -The protagonist realizing that her paragon mentality of "no murder" isn't healthy, developing into a responsible leader for Nohr -Complete removal of "Revelation-Bait," which causes Conquest's storyline to be deliberately unsatisfying so people will pay twenty dollars for other routes, allowing Conquest to stand on its own as a wholly satisfying story.

Whumptober day 02: TRUST ISSUES

Corrin and Takumi because Takumi was the first character that came to my mind with the "trust issues" theme. In another lifetime, he learns to trust Corrin, but in this one is a little too late for that.

Anyways, Takumi did nothing wrong.

My favorite part of Conquest is the fact that its true final boss is literally just possessed Takumi with no explanation as to how he got possessed.

Like, considering the series history of either having a dragon, god and the leader of a dark cult be the final boss (Ashnard too, but he doesn't fit any of the categories), the final boss being the second prince of Hoshido who is a SNIPER of all classes who's literally playable on the other two routes just being possessed with no explanation is such a breath of fresh air.

I don’t know if anyone really reads my posts but I was feeling a bit down and unwell today.

And during that time when I was scrolling, I found a nice little musical piece in an edit that got me thinking about Sycamore. Which inspired me to draw him and they turned out pretty good especially for drawings of him without reference. (Which means I’ve drawn him so much that I can now draw him without looking at a reference picture.)

So that was nice! I might add the sketches on this post later when I can.

sorry i found out i never gave fire emblem warriors back to my sibling so now i'm fucking thinking about birthright takumi again

the whole explanation. about why he's Like That in conquest. is that he. tripped into the bottomless canyon offscreen. it's just to incredible to me. it's only explained in BR that this happened to him. he just fucking fell into the bottomless canyon because he got chased into a landslide.

and he and ryoma got separated IN THAT BATTLE right??? RIGHT??? so ryoma escapes the mokushu ambush. there are Options, here, all of which are so fucking funny

Option 1: Ryoma is unaware that his little brother fell into a fucking canyon. So Ryoma just goes "yeah takumi is probably fine" and goes on his merry way to cheve, utterly oblivious

Option 2: Ryoma is aware that Takumi is currently presumed dead, informed nobody of this, and just went "aw shucks" and carried on to Cheve.

Sorry i'm still just. amazed. blown away. incredibly amused by. His Whole Deal from conquest being explained in the unintentionally funniest fucking chapter of birthright. Azura literally could've stopped him in ch10 of Conquest and then none of that shit would have happened in that route but she was too busy singing for Niles so he could snipe more pegasi with the ballista. Otherwise she would've clocked the possession and stopped it.

Like. I'm sorry. in BR, takumi literally joins as an enemy unit. Yeah it's piss easy to recruit him because which fuckhead moron ISNT deploying azura, but you could, in theory, just either a) not sing for takumi or b) have azura already be dead on classic, so you kinda just either have to kill him (which also has to snap him out of it, because all the royals have plot armor), or are just fucked because that fujin yumi Kills.

I love takumi so much he's my favorite fates character. Do you understand. Firm believer he is Anankos' blorbo as well because you dont see him making Gunter the final boss of a whole campaign, now do you
