INTRO POST TIME. formerly smoky-progg-posting!
We are a collective of 50+ members, but you can call us Shrike! Reblogs probably won't have an individual tag- and we probably won't be reblogging much at all! We'll be putting our reblog autism hyperfixation hell on a different blog.
Send us a picture of a bird (and its name) and we'll love you forever!
(Also, we'll be keeping all our former smoky progg roleplay posts on here for archiving purposes. You can find the new rp account at @smokyprogg-posting)
Notes and blinky under read more.
WE ARE ENDO SAFE!!!!
#lol.txt <- CHATTING TAG!
#lol.jpg <- IMAGES TAG (ART, MAYBE!)
#lol.exe <- FRIEND TAG :3c
Our hyperfixations change very frequently, and different headmates have different hyperfixations. We'll probably be jumping around fandoms quite a bit.

Mastering the Basics: A Beginner’s Guide to Figsflow
In the dynamic world of accounting and taxation, crafting proposals is crucial for client retention. Figsflow is a proposal management software that helps you customise your company’s services and calculations and create impressive proposals and letters of engagement.
Once you log in to the software, you have the option to either select an existing company or create a new one. After selecting your designated company, you can access the dashboard, which contains various analytics related to the company. These include the total number of deals made, deals won, revenue generated and more. Additionally, you can view a graph that shows the growth of the company, as well as a table that displays the most popular service based on a selected period. The period can be chosen from monthly, quarterly, and yearly intervals.
Setting Up Your Workspace
Figsflow stands out for its exceptional customisation features that cater to different areas. With Figsflow, you have complete control over your settings and can tailor them to your specific needs.
General Settings
In the General Settings area, you have the option to input rates for discounts and VAT. Furthermore, you can add service tags and parameters, which come in handy while filtering services later. These values can be used dynamically to generate proposals, thereby eliminating the need to create new values for every proposal or letter of engagement. Additionally, you can set the hourly professional rates for your employees, including both their standard and premium rates per hour, in this same section.
User Settings
The User Settings area, as the name suggests, can help you add or invite members to the Figsflow software. Also, edit and delete actions are present, which are useful based on the user’s role, which is defined in the next tab.
Role Settings
Role Settings enables admins to assign specific access permissions to different employee positions. Access permissions can either be set to all-access, create, read, update, delete, or archive.
Proposal Settings
The Proposal Settings tab is a crucial component for configuring the creation of proposals and letters of engagement. It consists of service, client, and template settings.
Service Settings
In the Service Settings tab, you will find a list of your company’s various services. Each service type has a list of services displayed under it, which can be accessed by clicking on the view button. You can customise the general information of each service, as well as its price and calculation settings, by clicking on the add/edit button.
Under the General Information tab, you can add a service with its name. The General Settings tab allows you to set the discount rates, VAT rates, and service tags. There are also two description parameters, one for proposal and another for letter of engagement.
Client Settings
In the Client Settings section of the system, you can add different types of clients according to their entity type, which is displayed as a header. For example, you can add Individual Clients and Organisation Clients as entity types, which will be displayed as header sections. There, you can perform add, view, edit, and delete operations on the entity types.
Templates Setup
Figsflow is a tool that generates proposals and engagement letters for accounting and tax purposes. The templates setup tab helps you add templates for those documents. You can customise the templates with elements such as a cover page, logo, body, and footer. This is done so that you can add these elements and change only the necessary information during each proposal.
Generating Proposals
After setting up all these different elements, you can generate proposals and letters of engagement that are tailor-made for each of your clients. To create a proposal, you must:
Select a service you are providing from the services list. Depending on your client, you can select more than one service.
The service details are displayed on the right side of the service list. Here, you can select service parameters, organisation names, and deal IDs.
After this, the calculation is displayed, and you can choose the time, be it monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
Below this, you can select a proposal and letter of engagement template crafted from the template setup section.
Finally, you can preview those documents and make changes as necessary.
Proposal List
All the proposals created are present in the proposal list section. You can view the draft and live proposals as well as letters of engagement from this section. Also, you can download the PDF documents, check the status, and delete documents from this section.
Conclusion
Precision and professionalism are of the utmost importance in accounting and taxation. Figsflow is software that stands out for its efficiency and customisation capabilities, providing an intuitive interface and robust features. With Figsflow, users can easily create tailored proposals and engagement letters. The software enhances client communication, making it an indispensable tool for accounting firms looking to improve their service standards and increase business growth.

[blog is still under construction until further notice.]
this blog is dedicated to archiving official (mainly visual) content from the assassination classroom/ansatsu kyoushitsu series.
mod's pronouns are kit/kits/kitself.
all posts that are solely archival are tagged #assclass archives.
each character is tagged in the format #firstname lastname (ex. #nagisa shiota, #karma akabane, #yuuma isogai)
art and visual content (including videos) is tagged with #art. text-only content is tagged with #text. english-translated content is tagged with #translation. music/audio is tagged with #audio. other kinds of media are tagged with #misc (and may later be tagged more specifically should the need arise).
informational/update posts are tagged with #kunugigaokannouncement.
due to tumblr's 30 tag limit, content that contains too many characters to tag individually will be tagged with #3e and/or #group. most of the affected posts are graphics containing the full class 3-e.*
while this blog is titled after a pairing name, all archive posts will be kept completely separate from romantic contexts. all posts that mention/discuss pairings are tagged #seishunship for blacklisting purposes.
credit is given wherever necessary. content provided to tumblr will be reblogged to this blog rather than reposted. if content was posted on a different site, there will be a link to the original source. if any attributions are missing, please notify the blog as soon as possible and it will happily be added.
any post updates will be edited into the original post rather than added as reblogs (ex. corrected attribution, additional content missed on the first upload). make sure to open the original post link for the most updated information.
if you happen to have any content not currently available on this blog, feel free to submit it! it would be greatly appreciated.
any questions/suggestions/requests can be sent through the ask box as well.
official sources include the anime twitter and anime website.
some blogs that have similar archival content (though not all in one place) include akabanekarmakun (screenshots of cards from the now-defunct mobile game), irraydiance and blazardragon (translations).
blog is currently running on a queue of content already posted to tumblr, scheduled to post once per day. if the queue runs empty, it will simply stay inactive unless new content is found/posted, but it will not be deactivated (as that would defeat the purpose).
thank you!
*note: there are some pictures that contain the perfect amount of characters to fit in the 30 tag limit, but these posts are then unable to be tagged with the #group and/or #korosensei tags. should i completely forego tagging full class pics with each individual character, or should i tag as many as possible? i'm open to feedback about this specifically.

okay here it is!!! the long-awaited (not really) masterpost of hc’s about the background characters!!!
@105ttt and i have been working on this stuff for a couple weeks now and i’ve finally got around to making it into something shareable!! and i’m excited because now this means i get to use them in fics without people being completely lost!!!!
anyway this post is long so i’m gonna put it under a readmore-
Leonel
Tumblr media
-link’s father
-captain of the guard & keeper of the wind key
-close friends with artura and valensuela since childhood
-because of the circumstances, he’s very well-read on the various legends/stories of the past heroes
-is a stand-in father for zelda sometimes because of how close she and his son(s) are
-constantly worried about his kids (sometimes because of the trouble they’ve been in, sometimes because of the trouble they cause)
-definitely the ‘cool manager’ type of captain- does what he needs to in order to run an efficient guard, but he’s also good friends with all of them
-there are days where he wants to take his kids out to town for a family day and there are days where he wants to throw them all out a window
Artura
Tumblr media
-the captain’s top knight
-friends with leonel since childhood; they weren’t in the same battalion until they became full knights but leonel would cut sessions to go train with his group
-specialized in heavy armored combat, proficient in several kinds of weaponry but mostly uses bludgeoning weapons
-the backup dad for vio when leonel is busy because hylia knows vio needs constant supervision
-the embodiment of the gentle giant trope- does a lot of favors for people and the castle town kids ADORE him
-always busy + always tired. give artura his vacation days please
-he has a special room in the castle he goes to when he needs alone time and doesn’t want to be bothered. vio is allowed in but only grudgingly and only if he’s maintained at least one (1) week of decent behavior
-works a lot with younger trainees (mostly around link’s age); has a lot of instructional tasks on top of his regular patrol duties
-he doesn’t take off his armor in public a lot, so most people haven’t seen him out of it. there’s a joke among the younger groups that artura isn’t actually a person but rather a darknut or one of the phantom knights animated by the royal family’s magic. (actually it’s just because he’s secretly a twink and he doesn’t want people knowing that Mr. Top Knight/Mr. Living Darknut couldn’t hit 160lbs if he was soaking wet.)
Valensuela
Tumblr media
-keeper of the water key
-close friends with leonel since childhood; was in the same trainee battalion as him
-trained for armored combat but dislikes wearing heavy plate- if he wears a lot of armor, it’s usually maille
-can dual-wield, but usually opts for one larger sword instead of two smaller ones
-basically adopts green after the pyramid incident. just steals him from leonel. green is his son now. green accidentally calls valensuela ‘dad’ once and leonel’s parentship of green ends right there.
-appears very dignified and serious but actually has a flair for the theatrical. most people are not aware of this but his friends know.
-leonel’s second-in-command, but he’s far more task-oriented and doesn’t deal with people as well as leonel does. he can come across as a little brusque with people he isn’t familiar with so he tries not to take that role if he doesn’t have to.
-not a personality headcanon but he has a scar on his forehead from when green shattered his helmet in the pyramid. and after he’s overcome the trauma that came with that whole ordeal, he definitely brags about it. someone asks what happened to him for him to have a scar like that and he’s like “oh my son did that isn’t he talented?”
Lucien
Tumblr media
-keeper of the fire key
-so chill. extremely laid-back guy. the kind of guy you go to hang out with when you want to do something social but you don’t want to leave your house (or even your couch).
-kinda lazy when it comes to little mundane tasks, which he caught a lot of flak for while he was still in training, but wholeheartedly dedicated to his job when it comes down to it.
-basically adopts red. they’re like best buds. red makes lucien carry him around on his shoulders so he doesn’t have to walk but lucien doesn’t mind.
-absolutely the kind of person to disappear for an entire day and when you find him again and ask him where he went he says he was in the living room the whole time
-very good at cooking, but only the really time-consuming, complicated recipes, which goes directly against his low-effort nature. he rarely cooks, but everyone looks forward to the days that he does.
-also the kind of person to “work out” by doing one push up every five minutes. the second he hears someone approaching he’ll stay in mid-push-up position and when they walk in he’ll say “one thousand”. (he only actually made it to nine.)
-if he isn’t in armor he’s in sweats. “dress more professionally” the captain says to him one day. he shows up to breakfast the next morning wearing sweats again, but this time he also has a tie on.
-the tallest of the group, which artura makes fun of (it’s all in good fun. he just makes fun of artura for being so small.)
Wes
Tumblr media
-keeper of the earth key
-the high-energy go-getter of the group. his energy alone balances out the chronically low-key natures of artura and lucien. basically an eternal child at heart.
-ALWAYS ready to throw down. it isn’t even that he has anger issues, he just needs a way to get rid of his restless energy while also triumphing in his various conflicts, and to him, fighting (within the controlled setting of a spar) is the easiest way to do that.
-one of those people that has to be physically restrained from doing dumb things. “hey i bet i could land in the hot spring if i jumped from the third story balcony” “wes you will break all of the bones in your lower body” “and??”
-also the guy in the group that’s constantly making bets and daring people to do things. he violates the sanctity of the triple dog dare by using it literally every time. he is also eerily good at predicting the correct outcome of bets.
-learns little things like sleight-of-hand tricks just to fudge them at the end; he’ll keep a group of little kids enamored with the “magic” before asking if they want to see the finale where he makes the cards disappear. the kids say yes and he just hurls the entire deck into a nearby bush. “there,” he says with pride as he walks away, “they’re gone.” (he would never actually upset the kids. if they look too disappointed he’ll sigh and go get the cards and do an actual disappearing trick just to make them better.)
-definitely takes blue under his wing. they spar like every morning. the other links might try to go on kitchen raids without their parents’/mentors’ knowing but blue goes WITH wes to go steal the best-looking cookies fresh off the baking sheet. arcy always gives wes grief for enabling that behavior but wes knows she won’t actually do anything about it
Selenas
Tumblr media
-another of the captain’s high-ranking knights
-the exasperated lawful good of the group. he tries so hard to get the rest of them to follow the rules but it never works. he knows there’s no point to the efforts anymore but he still tries.
-the constant sigh-er of the group. you’d think he had respiratory issues if you didn’t know him.
-is tasked with helping to keep shadow in line because of his lawful good status. he’s the strict parent who insists upon balanced meals with a lot of vegetables and who believes in a strict 8pm bedtime. he will not hesitate to confiscate shadow’s laptop if he’s misbehaving. shadow despises him but he’s doing all of hyrule a great favor.
-doesn’t safeguard a royal jewel so he’s kind of an outlier but it’s fine, everything’s fine, he doesn’t need a jewel to prove that he’s a good knight and no, he isn’t envious, no not even a tiny bit, why would anyone ask that,
-prefers long-reach weapons like pikes and halberds over swords/daggers
[all of the above-mentioned knights are collectively referred to as the cape squad by the links]
Arcy
Tumblr media
-one of the castle chefs
-an ex-knight; had barely made it into full knighthood before receiving a career-ending injury
-decided to continue work at the castle as a chef so she could still be around friends + to provide for her daughter
-was in the same trainee battalion as artura for armored combat, so they’re old friends
-her daughter is adopted; keina is the biological daughter of a late friend of arcy’s who died from birth complications
-is actually still technically in reserve for the guard; in a state of emergency she’s tasked with aiding evacuation efforts
-she’s the most popular chef among the knights because she takes requests. there’s a weekly competition among battalions and the winning one gets to choose the weekend meals that she makes. it’s a good motivator, especially for the ones in training, and it also gets her friends in high places (:
Keina
(see above images)
-arcy’s adopted daughter
-she’s very sickly; she’s never gone beyond the gates of castle town and barely even leaves the castle grounds. the only time she’s been beyond castle town was when she fled the castle with arcy, and she was in extremely poor health the entire time.
-she’s friends with the links + erune; they’ll often visit her and bring her things from other towns (or in erune’s case, her hometown) so she can still experience new things
-has a lot of pen pals all over hyrule since she can’t leave her home to go see people- she gets like two dozen letters a week and it helps keep her busy
-very knowledgeable on a lot of different subjects! because she’s often home- and sometimes even bed-bound, she spends a lot of time reading and writing and will sometimes illustrate as well. she’d like to be some kind of professional scholar so she can still contribute even when her health prevents her from travel.

Tumblr media
I'm learning how to Tumblr, I swear
This, being my main, is where I will be posting my own artwork, drabbles, content, etc.
@datschaos is where I will be sharing all of my reblogs.
Writing Masterlist:
(Link directories posted below the cut)
Transformers:
Tumblr media
Star of the Show Story & Excerpts: (A Mirage and Starscream-centric crazy story following a woman named Clara, who emits Energon radiation.)
The Entire Story:
• "Comfortable Place" - (768 words, excerpt) Knockout and Breakdown relax together in a moment of peace. [SFW, cuddles, comfort & relaxation, mentions of alcohol use (Energon Wine)]
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Leaking Spark Story & Excerpts: (A Knockout and Soundwave-centric Reader insert fic, following the Reader who accidentally befriends big bad Decepticons)
• "Racing Heart" - (8,434 words, Excerpt) Knockout owes you, and convinced you to attend a race with him in order to collect the prize money he wins. Things get... A little more exciting than you anticipated. [NSFW mildly; teasing, non-consensual unplanned vouyerism, illegal car racing, Knockout and Reader are both Very Into Each Other but haven't confessed]
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Gladiators of Kaon: (A saucy Megatronus x Cybertronian!Reader x Soundwave tale that centers around the time period of the gladitorial pits of Kaon, the formation of the Decepticons, and Dadwave having a bunch of little sparklings to care for.)
The entire story:
[NSFW: Soooo NSFW :3 I am honestly terrible at tagging my longer stories; I will do my best to tag trigger warnings on individual chapters.)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The Mandalorian:
Tumblr media
• Travel Buddies (>276,000 words, ongoing, multi-book series, Ao3) [SFW with NSFW scenes posted separately; action, adventure, serious plot, romance, Force shenanigans and more plot, Moff Gideon is scary af, Din Djarin keeps his helmet oath, Grogu is an adorable menace and Mars wants a refund on babysitting duty]
This fanfic started as an exploration of Mandalorian culture and ways it could manifest, and my want to write cute fluffy feels interspersed with lots of action-packed fisticuffs and shoot-outs. I wanted to write a thrilling romance story that was deeply meaningful, without Din breaking his helmet oath. It really bugged me how they handled that aspect of his culture in the series, and I wanted to represent it in a more deliberate, tangible way.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The Bad Batch:
Tumblr media
• "Comfort" - (2,230 words, completed one-shot) A comforting scene with Echo. [deals with PTSD, cuddles]
• "The Little Details" - (1,184 words, completed one-shot) Crosshair isn't as unshakeable as he likes people to think. You're just the peace he needs. [deals with PTSD/panic attack]
• "Kittens and Soldiers" - (1,601 words, completed one-shot) Omega and Echo find a pregnant cat, and ask Hunter to keep her. [PURE. FLUFF. Warning: cuteness overload. Hunter misses an important memo but it's all good.]
Bad Batch Fic Excerpts:
Excerpts from a larger, currently-very-jumbled-up fic I have in progress, that can be read as one-shots.
Follows the tale of "Butterfly," a mildly force-sensitive, female Reader character who ends up joining the Bad Batch as a janitor after Things and Stuff.
While I tend to write with the image of a very petite Reader in my head (because I myself am a tiny little lady lmao), I go out of my way not to describe them in the story. Butterfly is described as having long hair.
I actually have two slightly different versions of the same general storyline on two different documents. One is called Scoped Out and the other one is Butterflies and Bones
• Excerpt 1 - "Tech Talks; Comfort" - (134 words, excerpt) Tech provides comfort in the only way he knows how; gently and factually. [Reader is distressed]
• Excerpt 2 - "Blushing Trooper" - (3,330 words, excerpt) Echo, acting as medic, is Butterfly's primary caretaker on the hyperspace journey home. It's a little different helping a pretty lady to the fresher than one of his injured brothers... And back out. [Mildly NSFW, mentions of medical treatment/past injury, Reader is injured and dependant on help. Hurt/comfort fic scene]
• Excerpt 3 - "Toothpicks" - (1,443 words, excerpt) Crosshair joins Butterfly for a quiet conversation while she's recovering from her injuries. This scene also explains where Butterfly earned her nickname. [pure fluff, a little flirty]

So! Who would be interested in having a Kingdom Hearts fix-it fic delivered to their inbox?
It was originally a long-running fic that I started writing prior to KH3D's release. Given how KH3 released years after I finished writing the fanfic, it's now a KH au that's honestly more of just a fix-it fic because, well, I know a lot of us were disappointed.
But also, even if you weren't disappointed, but AUs are still your thing... well, ATPverse is the thing for you.
ATPverse stems from "All the Pieces Lie Where They Fell" which, interestingly, fell in line with the naming of "Falling to Pieces," (FTPverse) written by @rarmaster, who is definitely sending out their KH au to people's inboxes starting next month.
Anyway, I'm currently in the process of porting everything from fanfiction . net to Ao3 largely for archival purposes, but I do miss the community that was there back in the day and it'd be nice to share my work with people who were interested in reading it!
More info about the individual fics under the cut!
All the Pieces Lie Where They Fell is about Sora and Riku going to take their Mark of Mastery exam, but Kairi tags along. Once the exam is over, it's clear everyone (Kairi included!) must join in the fight to stop Xehanort. Also, there are people to remember - and they can help in the fight.
Tumblr media
Betwixt and Between follows Sora, Kairi, Riku, Namine, Roxas, Xion, and Axel finding their ways in the wake of Xehanort's apparent death. There are some old friends who want to see them, but also some old enemies. Also, the worlds shouldn't leak darkness and someone should do something about that.
Tumblr media
In Remnants, our heroes must find the scraps of Xehanort's soul and destroy them, so he can never return again. With each soul remnat they encounter, they must resist being dragged into darkness and becoming a puppet. If they do not destroy the soul remnants in time, he will come back in full. Unfortunately, some of those soul remnants have attached themselves to familiar faces.
Tumblr media
Those are the main three fics, but there's also some bonus content, including a full-length prequel featuring many Final Fantasy characters from the KH universe (and some not). I adore that one fondly as well and content from it would be included in serialized delivery. (Current plan would be to deliver What's All Gone on Before between Betwixt and Between and Remnants, as that was original posting order.
So, if you're interested, reach out to me! I can't do a poll like I did on twitter. A reply, a reblog, a DM, whatever!
**Also, full disclaimer, I wrote this starting in like 2011 and finished in 2015. There will be some editing, but generally it will be in it's original form.

OC Superlatives Tag
My lovely husband @rosieartsie tagged me. Under the cut, because this is going to be a long one. This is an open tag, because I’m pretty sure a bunch of folx have already done this one.
Most Arrogant
I think that Marlowe Jewel, at least before becoming the Devil, or perhaps even more so since then, is a pretty arrogant individual. Not on purpose, but he has a certain expertise, and he’s not afraid to stick his nose up about it.
Most Humble
Ravenot, hands down. They have a legendary reputation, but they walk along the road with nothing to their name but the things they need to do their work, and a few flowers plucked from the roadside. His humility is pretty hard to shake, too, except in situations where disregard for his identity is causing harm to others. Then you’ll see what it means to be the Unmade, that’s for sure.
Most Charming
That would be Kelradest. He’s a ranking member of the White Court, with an illustrious record of service, but they’re the People’s Knight for a reason. And that reason is that they are perfectly lovely. He has a good sense of humor, he’s warm, attentive, and just the right amount of talkative.
Most Talkative
Simonery. He talks when he’s nervous, but being a spymaster means he has to watch what he says all the time. It’s quite a pickle to be in, but he navigates this by talking about nothing in particular, and by exaggerating whatever situation he’s in that’s made him feel the need to go off.
Least Talkative
Syl. If it can be said in a single word, they’ll say it that way. They usually average around three words at a time. And that’s if they like you.
Most Relatable
I think Haven or Zig get this one. They are both grounded in reality, which helps with that. There’s some big mood in having to return to your old hometown and your old friends. And there’s also some big mood in being desperate enough to find a place that you risk it all and answer an ad that was almost surely placed by a serial murderer.  (Just me?)
Least Relatable
I think the Piper is hard to understand, in part because he exists as a distortion to begin with. Everything he experiences is vivid and intense, but at the same time, it’s a matter of fact. It’s nothing personal, but as the Piper, he will do what he is meant to do. He will collect his due.
Most Ambitious
This one goes to Zephrinus Pact. The man who would bring the universe to heel if he could.
Most Easy-Going
Erato is the most chill. All she wants to do is live in comfort with her doting husband. She doesn’t have the time to get riled up.
Most High-Strung
Ennyn is pretty high-strung. If they were mortally wounded, they’d check their hair and makeup before dying.
Most Pretentious
Oh, this goes to Marlowe Jewel. They are literally an antique dealer (or at least they were), so that’s part of the job description, arguably. I think Ashtoryan can be a bit pretentious too--he’s a huge nerd.
Most Cheerful
That’s Draska. The man with the hands. No matter what happens, they always find it in them to crack a joke, to try and make a bit of light. Life’s too short to spend it frowning.
Most Patient
Ravenot. He can literally stand in one spot all day and all night if he has to, and that, to them, is not even a terribly long wait. I think Zephrinus Pact is a close second, but he can become impatient, despite his long life.
Most Diligent
This one goes to Peltarion. They are precise, focused, and they seldom forget to review all available information in drawing up a plan.
Most Bullied
Irastenys for sure. Chiefly by the people who love him. But also by me. What a trashbag.
Most Loved
I think this one goes to Erato. Kalmin is a lot. But I think that Prophet gives her a run for her money, because he married a pirate lord who is also a lot.
Most Terrifying
Oh, that’s Zephrinus Pact. There are entire archives dedicated to the way he kills. But I have a lot of OCs who are pretty horrifying, I think. The Piper is also very frightening.
Most Hated
There’s someone who earns this, but it’s spoilers to say who it is. If you know, you know.

Hi hello!! We are very excited to present to you
Tumblr media
This project aims to provide a platform for graphic content creators on Tumblr to share our mutual love for Day6 and bring Mydays together. We have chosen the name “The Book of Mydays: COALESCENCE” following the common theme of The Book of Us series. In this case the concept of COALESCENCE refers to the phenomena of the merging of two or more droplets, bubbles or particles upon contact to form a single droplet, bubble or particle, relating to each individual Myday coming together to form this fandom.
We hope you have lots of fun!!! Also, if you haven't already, please check out the trailer for this project here!
Please read further for more details <3
Who can participate?
This event is open for all content creators who make various creations such as gifs, graphics, fanart, moodboards, edits, videos, lockscreens, playlists…you name it!! Everyone is welcome to participate, you don’t need to have a Day6 blog, a large following or any prior experience making content to take part.
What are the themes for this event?
We have chosen a variety of themes revolving around Day6’s discography, performances, growth, individual projects and such. These will be quite general prompts, allowing you to interpret them in any way that suits your creations.
When will the themes be announced?
The format of this event will be in weekly challenges, to give you enough time to work on your creations without any pressure. We will make a new post announcing the week’s theme every Sunday around 8 pm GMT (this would be 5 am KST/ 4 pm EST). This way you will have the following week to work on and post your creations.
Please note that there’s no obligation to do all the themes nor is there a limit of posts you can make, this is supposed to be an enjoyable project!! <3
How to participate?
Just tag your creations with any of the following hashtags: #the book of mydays: coalescence #the book of mydays #coalescence .
It’d be great if you could also include “The Book of Mydays: COALESCENCE” and the weekly theme in your post description to let more people know of this project!
We also suggest not using a lot of tags to ensure your posts show properly <3 but if for any reason your creation is not showing in the tags, please let us know!
Other questions:
- You will find all updates and general information at @thebookofmydays. This blog will also act as a network and for archival purposes.
- We encourage all participants to support other creators and to engage with and reblog their creations too, and to spread the informational posts as well so they can reach more people ^^
- Please always credit your sources properly when using non original content and make sure you follow op’s rules about posting, editing, etc. Please refrain from using material from blacklisted fansites.
- Please always be respectful and mindful of what you post. If you choose to post insensitive jokes, shipping, sexualization and such, we may not engage with your content.
- We already have a calendar planned but we’ll gladly accept suggestions for new themes as the project moves forward! If you want to know about a theme in advance, please contact us.
-If you have any further questions, don´t hesitate to contact us at @thebookofmydays, @sunbragi or @suggable. (Note that these are sideblogs so comments and such will appear under our main blogs @seoluna and @goldenlaurelin respectively!!!)
Thank you for reading!! <3

how to navigate SUPER1SE to get the exact fix of R1SE you are looking for
some notes before we begin: this account does not post renhao and yan xujia.
please also read this post [x]
#member tags
↳ each individual member has their own tags which you can use to look at specifically content that they are in (this includes group content). three-word names are spelt with one space after the surname. two-word names are spelt without spaces. for example, for zhou zhennan there is a ‘zhou zhennan’ tag and a ‘周震南’ tag, and for yaochen there is a ‘yaochen’ tag and a ‘姚琛’ tag. the chinese tags may be incomplate because tumblr allows a max of 30 tags per post and there may not be enough space for them
#date tags
↳ all posts are tagged with the original date of origin of the photo/link/video posted for easy reference of everything that happened on a specific day. dates are written as yymmdd
#stills tags
↳ official photoshoot/professionally taken photos posted by official sources
↳ #spread
↳ magazine shoots
↳ #event
↳ photos taken for/at events that they attend; i consider it their ootd photoshoot lol
↳ #show tags
↳ official promotional photos taken for shows that they are on. also includes tags of the show that they are on in both chinese and english (if applicable). for example produce camp 2019 has a ‘chuang 2019’ tag and a ‘创造营’ tag
#photos tags
↳ usually unofficial photos that are taken by fansites, could also include gifs and edited screenshots made by fans
↳ #work photos
↳ means that i posted it one to two days within the event happening
↳ #archives
↳ means that i posted it awhile after the event happened. the two are inherently the sane hence why they are both under the ‘photos’ tag. the clarification exists just for the purpose of knowing whether content is current or from the past when you see the posts as they are being posted
#weibo/oasis tag
↳ anything they post on weibo, oasis, and occasionally instagram (although i’m very inconsistent with that one), usually only the ones that actually include their face
#concerts tags
↳ collection of photos taken at their various concerts (does not include the random performances that they do throughout the year)
↳ #can concert
↳ photos from the ‘we are r.1.s.e. concert tour — guangzhou stop’
↳ #ckg concert
↳ photos from the ‘we are r.1.s.e. concert tour — chongqing stop’
↳ #virtual concert
↳ photos from the ‘SUNR1SE (曜为名) first performance virtual concert’

↳ #sha concert 2.0
↳ photos from the ‘our, dawn breaking stars (我们,破晓星辰) limited farewell concert — shanghai stop day two’
#fanmeetings tags
↳ collection of photos taken at their various fanmeetings. includes the r1se fanmeetings as well as other miscellaneous fanmeetings, like the produce camp 2019 doki fanmeeting, or 冰红茶 fanmeeting

#douyins tag
↳ mostly discontinued because i can’t log in to my douyin account right now, but contains the douyins that the boys post
#clips tag
↳ video posts
#performances tag
↳ collection of their performances. largely not kept up to date, ie i post their performance if i feel like going through the trouble to get it downloaded and compressed
#links tag
↳ links to anything and everything, usually a weibo video post that isn’t easily downloadable
#translation tag
↳ collection of the occasional translation of the boys’ posts and whatnot, has another tag to accompany it called ‘r1se translation’
#individual tags
↳ below is a complete list of sub-tags for each member and section

Hi there! I absolutely loooove the destiel fic collection and think that it's a genius way to expose fans to fics that might not always get as much attention on fic recs and when searching on ao3. I was thinking of trying to create a similar collection for another fandom and was wondering if you have any tips? Or if there's anything that you wish you knew when you started it? Thank you!
Hi!! Just for openers, sorry I didn’t reply to this yesterday, my mom’s basement flooded and took with it all my writing time, sigh. ANYWAY. On to the topic at hand. How to make a “faves survey” for another fandom, and have it resemble what I’ve made for Destiel? Well, here’s what I’ve done, hopefully some of it will be applicable to you...
1. This is the most important part: Do NOT let it become or be perceived as a popularity contest. Never release the raw stats (except perhaps to a small number of people who you trust to help you). Never announce a “winner.” Never share a ranked list. Never act as if more votes equals better. Never ever suggest in anyway that your purpose to find “the best.” Treat people and fics who get one vote with just as much fanfare as people and fics who get 50 votes. I do release a “top 20″ list just because so many people asked, but even then, it’s in alphabetical order, and meant more as a snapshot. Encourage people to vote for their favorites that aren’t already in whatever collection you end up making, and encourage people to vote for things they don’t usually see on rec lists. Aim for an expansive range of types of fics being voted for, and make it clear - no ship shaming (or secondary ship shaming, if yours is ship-based like mine, rather than being general to a given fandom) or kink shaming.
2. Keep the survey super simple. People don’t read complex instructions, and they’re not going to want to rank lists or anything like that. You can see the one I use here. Feel free to emulate it, copy it, modify it for your own purposes. I used to just do boxes but people would routinely put in way more than 5/10, and while I didn’t really mind the extras, it greatly increased the amount of work I had to do, and since the survey routinely gets a couple hundred replies that I go through, I decided to make it a little harder for people to go over the limits. Don’t bother asking for people’s names or trying to validate the results. I’ve tried. People don’t want to put their names, and validation encourages people not to submit...AND doesn’t prevent cheating...so is really pointless. Just keep it anonymous, after four rounds I can say...that works best.
3. And, speaking of people going over the limits, and cheating...people will cheat. No matter how clear you are that number of votes don’t matter, no matter how much you insist that whatever data you’re collecting will only be used in so-and-so a way...you will spot people “cheating,” for various definitions of the word cheating. People who vote for their own works. People will submit multiple surveys. People will “ballot box stuff” for their favorite(s). People will list more than the maximums you’ve asked them to. People will submit works from other ships, and - though it’s never happened to me - if you make it fandom-general I’ll lay heavy odds at least one dumbass will submit for some other fandom entirely. It happens in different permutations every time, some more obvious than others, but it happens. And the conclusion I reached is...so fucking what? In the end, since the idea is to highlight as many different great works as possible...screw it. Let people vote for themselves. Let people ballot box stuff. Let people submit multiple surveys, or list more than whatever maximums you’ve set. In the end, since every work is treated as equal and one vote is worth as much as a hundred...if they’re cheating to up the vote count, it’s irrelevant, and if they’re cheating to vote for more works, then yay! more works to include! and basically the only thing I’ve found that reduces cheating is to make it absolutely clear to people that I’d really rather they not but ultimately I can’t stop them, so do their thing I guess? And it does help. I got less cheating each time I do it, or at least less that I’m able to catch lol. (as a side note - the one exceptions is the “works for others ships.” Those you can see listed on the “INELIGIBLE” sheet of the spreadsheet I link below, but I don’t add them to the AO3 collection.)
4. Spreadsheets are your best friend. You’re going to want some way to organize the data you’re collecting. I’ve got a public version of the sheet I use that you can see here. It’s pretty similar to my “private” version, except the private version includes actual vote counts, separated by which time(s) I did the survey that the work in question got votes. I mostly use that data so I can do comparisons over the years (“this year X works were added to the collection that were never in it before!”) and because I like numbers. However, depending on how exactly you plan to use the data, you may not even need to tally vote counts, and you could do one that’s more similar to my public version. Also, if you make an AO3 collection, you’re going to want some way to track which works you’ve invited, which have been added, etc., cause otherwise it’s just a nightmare to keep track of. (a little more on this later).
5. Decide how and where you’re going to share your data - as an AO3 collection? As a public spreadsheet? On social media? Maybe you want to make a side Tumblr just for it? Or a Discord server? etc. etc. Like, I’ve got a pillowfort group (though I hardly use it) and a channel in a Discord server (thanks again to the PB folks for making space for me!) with the AO3 collection being the main portal. You want to make sure that it’s advertised enough that people know it exists, and also be prepared that short term you’ll hear basically no feedback on whether people use it, and even long term it’ll be once in a blue moon and suddenly eight people will be like WAIT YOU’RE THE PERSON BEHIND THAT THING I LOVE THAT THING. In that respect it can feel a little thankless but I’ve definitely found that people do use it, it’s just that there’s no real way for people to let YOU know they’re using it (and, honestly...good? This isn’t really about us, after all, it’s about all these fic writers, the goal is to bring attention to them, not ourselves, we’re just a go-between for the writers and the readers.)
6. For making an AO3 collection, you’ll have to invite every single work individually. Some people have their accounts set to auto-accept invites, but otherwise whether the work actually gets added will depend on the authors. Some people will never accept the invite. Some people won’t know how to accept the invite. Some people will accept the invite and then subsequently remove their work. Some people have left these parts completely and will never even see the invite. That’s why it’s important to track who has added and who hasn’t, and periodically double check it (I double check every six months or so). For the people who don’t accept the invites for whatever reason, you can bookmark the item to the collection. HOWEVER, if you do this with your personal account, every single one of those bookmarks will be listed under your personal AO3, which is why I ultimately made the Faves survey its own account - it’s entirely to facilitate bookmarking. You can also use the “Bookmark External Work” feature to link to works that aren’t on AO3, and to tag them to whatever extent you want to. Here’s some examples of how I chose to bookmark external works.
7. Things will inevitably get complicated. Authors will change their names. People who do the survey will use shorthand you’ve never heard of for some fic you don’t know. People will misspell things and you’ll either recognize it even with the typo...or you won’t. People will vote for things that list eight different ships and you’ll have no idea which one is endgame. People will vote for things that have been deleted, or they’ll tell you it’s definitely on AO3 when it’s not, it’s on some other platform. The list of random things I’ve had to deal with is stupidly long and I’ve probably forgotten even more. Just...roll with it. Do your best. Ask for help (“Someone nominated a fic abbreviated as ABC to the collection and didn’t give the author and I have no idea what it is, help me Tumblr!”). And in the end, if you’ve done everything you can think of and you still don’t know...let it go. It’s just not that worth worrying about. And sometimes if you step away and look again in a few days you’ll figure out another way to search and it’ll pop up. But honestly I’ve got a handful of works I still haven’t been able to track down, and that one work that someone submitted that’s only available in Finnish and is explicit and behind a log-in wall on a small independent Finnish-only fic archive...well, I spoke to the author and confirmed the work exists, but otherwise...whelp, it’s not linked, and I did my best. That’s all you can do.
8. No matter what you do, someone somewhere will probably get upset about it. The first time I did the survey, when it got the most traction, I actually got a little hate, and I got some anons who were like “oooooo did you know that ~x~ is cheating” and I had a little “HOW DARE YOU NOT PLAY FAVORITES WHAT ABOUT MY PERSONAL FAVE?” and just...decide how you’re approaching the survey, and stick to your guns, and if anyone is a douche, hit the block button. And, related...
9. Transparency is most important imo. Not transparency for vote counts obviously, but transparency for what you’re doing, and why you’re doing it, and what you hope to accomplish. Make sure your goals are clear from the start (mine weren’t that first time, hence some of the problems I encountered) - if it’s to highlight as wide a range of works as possible, say that. If it IS to pick a favorite, say that too. Just be clear, and honest, and above board, and it should work out okay.
10. Side note...one of the saddest things about all this is that if you do it over an extended period you’ll see authors deleting their works. As such, I personally chose to download every work that gets a vote, that way it’s at least preserved. I then expanded that into a much larger archive that I’m still adding to all the time, trying to save as much Destiel as possible. But then, I’m an archivist at heart, whether you want to branch out in that kind of direction is up to you.
...okay, that’s everything I can think of. Hopefully I didn’t scare you too bad. I don’t know what fandom/ship you’re looking at but for perspective...first time I did the survey I got about 400 replies, and then the next two times it got about 200, and this most recent time it got about 300. I chose to do mine annually, on the assumption that gives some time for people to come and go for fandom and a lot of new works to get created, and I deliberately timed it for about a month after the biggest fandom event (the DCBB) that generates fics, to give people time to read those fics and consider them in their voting. For me, that means I happen to run the survey starting on January 1st, and I keep it limited to 15 days, since usually it tapers off anyway. But you could try experimenting with different schedules, or leaving it open all the time, etc., it just depends how much time you want to devote to monitoring and updating it. For me, I mostly want to do a big burst of work and then not have to think about it most of the rest of the time, lol.
So...questions? comments? thoughts? wanna tell me I’m dead wrong? I’m all ears, lemme know how I can help!

Radio Decameron |1.16.21 & 1.23.21
Tumblr media
Secret Radio | 1.16.21 & 1.23.21 | Hear it here.
1. Sylvain Sylvain - “I’m So Sorry”
I never feel right saying “RIP” or “rest in peace” about an actual human being who is no longer with us. But I will say: I hope Sylvain Sylvain died content with the music he made and the life he lived.
2. The Honeydrippers - “Impeach the President”
And ideally, then we would never have to hear from or talk about that accursed criminal ever again. We recorded this section before the inauguration — may we never forget how ALL 50 STATE CAPITOLS plus the US Capitol itself were being guarded against attacks by American citizens on that day — and shit was tense there for many days. As of this writing, things are… unviolent. It feels like a lull to me, honestly, rather than, say, all that stuff being in the rearview. It is not.
But meanwhile, check that beat out!
I love how Roy Charles is trying to convince them to stop demanding, but they just keep insisting. This song is brilliant, and the playing is — c’mon now — unimpeachable.
3. Niagara - “Tchiki boum”
We heard this song in the film “Perdrix,” known as “The Bare Necessity” in the version we saw via SLIFF. They’re dancing in a club to this, and it’s just a really distractingly good song for the scene.
- C.K. Mann - “Mber Papa”
We just recently learned about Essiebons by learning that he passed just this August. He was a producer of legendary status to a lot of people. Listening around his music we came upon C.K. Mann and this righteous track, which Essiebons produced. I think this is a pretty ultra track, really. Every instrument really kicks it out. I hope Essiebons died happy.
4. Rocky Horror Picture Show - “Hot Patootie / Bless My Soul”
New president, feeling kinda upbeat and hopeful. Really just starting to feel the tips of my soul from where it’s been getting singed. It’s going to take a long time to scab over what happened to us all over the last four years. I’m so fucking glad he’s gone that it makes me really love that rock n roll!
5. Moon Unit & Frank Zappa - “Valley Girl”
Tell you what: we watched the movie “Zappa” recently as part of a film festival, and I highly recommend watching it at your earliest opportunity. It is absolutely for people who do, and for people who do not, love his music. He shows up as a really interesting character throughout his whole life. The film skips through his songs with amazing speed, which actually works really well in his case. This song is with his daughter Moon Unit, who actually slid a handwritten note under his door introducing herself by name and saying that she wanted to collaborate on a project. They did this, and while Zappa was in Europe, Moon Unit brought the acetates to KROC and the song became an instant hit for them. Meanwhile he was writing for multiple orchestras.
6. Jacques Dutronc - “Sur Une Nappe de Restaurant”
This is totally not how I tune my drums, but I love how Dutronc’s drums sound in every song. I mean, the whole band of course, but there is a physical space both in the drum part as written and in the recorded texture of the whole that is just deep and wide.
7. Nyame Bekyere - “Medley: Broken Heart / Aunty Yaa / Omo Yaba (Nzema)”
This is another discovery via Essebiens, who released it on Essiebons Enterprises. It’s such an intense track! The cover artwork is by K. Frimpong, who plays a crazy Cuban guitar style on his own albums.
8. Ros Serey Sothea - “Tngai Neas Kyom Yam Sra (Today I Drink Wine)”
This is a voice, and a cast of characters, I can’t stop thinking about. This is from “Cambodian Rocks Vol 1,” which is full of great recordings. Her voice could shatter glass, and it’s so skillfully wielded — I’d love to hear her in a face-off with Frankie Valli.
- There’s a moment from Paige’s phone archives of a little George and Isabelle aching to ride rides at the Millstadt homecoming.
9. Les Poppys - “Isabelle je t’aime”
These young boys singing collectively about their — collective? 17 individual? — love(s) for Isabelle is even more innocent in video format:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o618mlIaR7E
- more C.K. Mann - “Mber Papa”
10. The Jam - “In the City”
This song makes me miss the city so much! It sounds like everything we really can’t get up to right now. I feel like this song helps me feel like I’m walking fast under streetlights.
11. Bruno Leys - “Maintenant je suis un voyou”
This 7” from Born Bad is so incredible! Bruno Leys worked on just a few songs with a band that included a guy named Emmanuel Pairault who plays parts on an instrument called the ondes Martenot, a super early, very eclectic and ungainly electronic instrument. The fact that he could actually compose music of any kind on it was considered remarkable. The fact that he was able to write such incredibly expressive parts to thoroughly filigree the choruses is what amazes me.
This band recorded four songs, then Bruno Leys left for his military service, and when he came back it was all completely over — the catalog was sold, everyone was scattered. Four songs.
12. Sleepy Kitty - “Nothing = You”
I’m pretty sure this song was essentially our response to our own growing fascination with French pop. To me it sounds more French than American in texture. We played this song with the Incurables once at The Pageant in STL and it was especially glorious. I think of that moment — Kevin Bachmann harmonizing flawlessly with Paige, four different guitars ringing through the chords — every time I hear this track.
13. Plastic Bertrand - “Pogo Pogo”
I don’t know why or when “Ça Plane Pour Moi” became the one French pop song that Americans are likely to know, but it’s a total banger so I have no complaints. It turns out that pretty much all of his songs sound very similar — one-note melodies in the verse, cool vocalese hooks in the chorus, and super-driving guitar parts throughout. Turns out that’s a formula we totally dig!
14. Os K-rrascos & Vanessinha Do Picatchu - “Bochecha Ardendo”
For whatever reason, a variety of Brazilian music seemed to be the very hottest stuff to be found in Chicago’s art-school party nights, and I remember losing my mind to some heavy Brazilian rhythms that just kept folding over and over on themselves while staying so impossibly funky that the whole night just turned into a deep-green-and-dark orange smear of a late-night winter warehouse dancing and sweating and then way, way later, walking home steaming along a cold sidewalk on a tree-lined street.
- Eric Dolphy - “Hat and Beard”
15. Von Südenfed - “The Rhinohead”
I feel like no one in my zone talks enough about how awesome Von Südenfed is. I mean, we only know this one album, but it’s so fascinating — a band where Mark E. Smith is contributing but not in control, and on purpose. He shows off his pop chops and gets to be a whole different character in this one place, while the Mouse on Mars guys get to play new characters themselves. It feels like it’s related to “Extricate” in how it’s constructed, but the music doesn’t sound like something any version of the Fall has made.
16. Fischer-Spooner - “The 15th”
A friend of Wire is a friend of ours.
p.s. Paige here, they went to SAIC (before I arrived) but they were super famous to all of us in the dorms.
17. T.P. Orchestre - “Pourquoi Pas?”
The depths of this band just continue to amaze us. We’re waiting on some T.P.O.C. vinyl right now, featuring mostly songs we’ve never heard, and the everlovin’ post office is misdelivering it BACK to France even as I write this. It’s driving us totally nuts.
18. Nina Simone - “Mississippi Goddam”
The hardness of her voice, the hardness of her experience, the hardness of her words.
19. Fanny - “Blind Alley”
I don’t know who first put this in front of my eyes, but it was a few years ago. The video is so basic — they’re performing in front of a video-psych effect — but the performers themselves are just so absorbing. And the production is so heavy, it feels legendary.
20. Manmadha Leela soundtrack - “Kushalamena”
I think we first saw a colorful glimpse of this song before we heard it. Paige automatically starts dancing a little dance as soon as “Kushalamena” comes on.
This I think came from the “Now Playing” group I’m in on FB: a guy was holding out a picture of the cover of this album and said he’d bought 40 more like it and he LOVED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. He just wanted to see if anyone knew anything more about them. I did my best to hear the album he was showing. I think this is it. I think he’s right to be super jazzed about it, we just want to hang out with him and listen to all those records.
21. Francis Bebey - “Je vous aime zaime zaime”
Paige was working on her pronunciation and when to use the ellision — the z sound for the s letter, depending on what comes next — and he said something about, “Unless you’re Francis Bebey and you’re singing ‘Je vous aime zaime zaime.” And she said, “Francis Bebey? I know Francis Bebey!” and he said, “No, you’re thinking of another Francis.” But we all know the truth. This was our introduction to the song though.
- Jack Teagarden - “I Guess I’ll Have to Change My Plan”
Paige was looking for the Fred Astaire & Jack Buchanan version from “The Bandwagon,” but found this great instrumental trombone-forward version instead.
22. Pono AM - "Good Vibes"
This is one of those things you see every once in a great while when you’re playing clubs in a music scene — a band hits a natural home run. They just have an undeniably appealing crowdpleaser of a song that they wrote, and everyone flips out when they hear it. We salute Pono AM for writing this perfect song. They enrich the STL music world. My only advice to them was to never get tired of it or take it for granted.
Paige: We took their band photos at our space on Cherokee Street, for an RFT article. I was impressed because they arrived with matching shirts that still had the tags on them, and it was really exciting to see a new band on the scene who was really good and also putting in the effort to be graphically interesting. We believe that stuff counts. All of their shows, if you got there early, you’d see all of the band members blowing up as many balloons as they could, so there would be balloons bouncing around their set for the whole show, and it made it even better.
23. Sir Victor Uwaifo And His Titibitis - "Iranm Iran"
Analog Africa has a new album! It’s called “Edo International,” and it shows off a whole other side of Beninese music that isn’t T.P. Orchestre. I think of T.P. Orchestre as just a giant force in Beninese music, but then this comp comes out showing so many other roots of Benin City’s highlife-funk scene. Victor Uwaifo was a Nigerian guitarist who returned to his hometown in Benin City and built Joromi Studio. The sound he put together at that place, via his own bands and others’, came to be called Edo Funk.
24. Laughing Man - "Brilliant Colors"
This is a tape of one of the artists of one of the group houses that we always would stay at in DC. Benjamin Schurr runs a tape label and it was always such a treat getting the new batch of Blight. releases for the van soundsystem when we’d roll through town, or one of his bands would tour through St. Louis. They were always interesting stuff and a wide range of sounds and styles.
We first met Brandon Moses when he was on tour with Paperhaus in St. Louis. I think it was his birthday, too. He didn’t tour a ton with them. Laughing Man was our first time hearing him front songs. We always enjoyed staying with Erik and Benjamin and Brandon and enjoyed sharing that green power juice that Brandon gave us — really powered us up for the next drive.
- Bembeya Jazz - “Petit Sokou”
I have felt love for this song for awhile, but Josh Weinstein recently sent a video of the band actually performing this song and WOW, it is hypnotizing. The outfits, the instruments, and the expressiveness of the guitar playing are all so vivid in black and white: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpZVF_kKUJ4
25. Maxime le Forestier - “San Francisco”
Our thanks to Paige’s French instructor for showing us this song. Paige’s version is well worth hearing too, I must say: https://www.instagram.com/p/CKhJfqDDe2q/
p.s. Paige again, if you want to see the dragon birthday card that Evan made, here it is!

Part 1: AO3 Tag At Large
Backstory in brief
I didn’t intend for this to get so detailed and comprehensive--honestly, it just started because I had a particular question and some free time to go digging for the answer. And I did get my answer, but in the process uncovered a wealth of other ways to expand my study. It’s been a ride (complete with a few anxieties thanks to some researcher part of my brain), but overall a fun one, and hopefully the resulting data-cronch will be intriguing.
As noted, this is the first part of a planned three-part data series. This installment will cover statistics for the contents of the Flommy AO3 tag as a whole, while the second part will zoom in a bit and break it down into smaller categories. The third will be a bonus post where the dataset will be narrowed to examine how it compares to the tag at large, which is how I began and previewed bits of my work before broadening the scope.
Below the cut, you’ll find a breakdown of the data collection and some information on the measures I examined, before we get into some stats. There are a number of charts included, as well as written overviews and additional facts. I’ll admit that it’s... a bit, even after being selective with the charts and data to highlight, but if you have questions (or are curious about any stats not included here), let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
Methodology
The overarching goal of my study was to examine and catalogue the contents specifically within the “Tommy Merlyn/Felicity Smoak” relationship tag on Archive of Our Own. All works featured in these results are tagged as (or otherwise wrangled under) this relationship tag; though it’s doubtful that this is the case, any works featuring this relationship that are not tagged in this way (and thus do not appear) will not be counted.
As of data collection on August 5th, 2020, there are 441 works (inclusive of hidden works viewable and accessible only with an AO3 login) within the Flommy tag. Aside from the individual work name and author, each entry was catalogued with the following additional variables:
Publish Year
Year in which work was initially published
Update Year
Year in which work was most recently updated
Rating
Author-assigned content rating (G, T, M, E, or Not Rated)
Work Length
Categorized as Oneshot (single chapter with an expected chapter count of 1) or Multichap (expected chapter count does not equal 1)
i.e. Works that only have a single published chapter but more are anticipated (so the chapter count reads as 1/?, 1/3, etc.) are categorized as Multichap
Completion Status
Works marked as Complete in the AO3 system are counted as such; all others are counted as Ongoing
Additional Relationships
Works may have Flommy as the only romantically-tagged (/) relationship, or additional ships; works in the latter category also had the other ships logged
Since this study was more quantitative and centered on AO3 tagging, more audience-based measures such as kudos, comment, and hit counts were omitted from the dataset. Also would like to remind that this is something I started because I was bored and curious, and I am just one person handling this data, so please keep this in mind in terms of data validity and human error.
Publish Year and Update Year
Breaking the data down by year was, oddly enough, an afterthought for me, but one I’m glad I did eventually think to add. This provided a glimpse at various trends in Flommy works over the years.
The first two sets of charts will feature both Publish Year and Update Year, as there were a few interesting datapoints I found when comparing the two of them. Moving forward, though, yearly data will be shown in terms of Publish Year, unless noted otherwise.
Tumblr media
I pulled together this first graph to see if there were any major differences in either curve as the years went by, and overall, they share a similar shape--to be expected, given that a number of works published in one year may also have been last updated in that same year. Either way, both show a gradual increase in Flommy-tagged works until 2017, before plummeting in 2018 and continuing with a coasting decrease as of August 2020.
However, there’s an interesting shift over time between the two yearly measures: while there are (understandably) more works first published than last updated within the same year from 2013-2015, this becomes about equal between 2016 and 2017, before reversing in 2018-onwards. This goes to show that, while fewer Flommy works are being published these days, there are still some older works that are getting updated even now. People are sticking with Flommy, in some way or another.
Below is another way to compare these two measures, in terms of share of works:
Tumblr media
The chart on the left (Publish Year) shows that the majority of Flommy-tagged works were published between 2013 and 2016--about 55%. However, the Update Year chart gives us an exact 50/50 split between the first four years of the tag and the last four, proving that the tag activity is still going strong!
Some other Publish and Update Year Fun Facts:
Because I’m too used to examining change year-over-year (YOY) for other purposes, I pulled some of those stats to accompany the line chart, focusing on Publish Year
The smallest change YOY was from 2016 to 2017, experiencing a 7% increase in published works; the largest was the 176% increase in 2014 over 2013
The decline in published works that began in 2018 has indeed slowed in 2020. 2018 had a -55% decrease YOY from 2017, and 2019 followed suit at -52%; 2020 is only down -21% from 2019, and that number can only improve as the year goes on!
12% more Flommy-tagged works have already been posted in 2020 than were posted in 2013, the first year of the tag. As the two years with the fewest works, that’s at least something!
Rating
There are more than a few ways I could break this one down, but I think this one covers the gist of this particular measure:
Tumblr media
As might be expected, T is the most common rating, accounting for almost half of all works. The remaining ratings (aside from Not Rated) are all within a very close range of each other, but those in the E-rated category do have the edge to take second place, which, I’ll admit, also isn’t much of a surprise.
Some other Rating Fun Facts:
Took a look at some YOY changes in Rating:
E is the only rating that experiences two consecutive massive increases: 300% in 2014 over 2013, and then another 500% in 2015 over 2014
Actually, 66% of all E-rated Flommy-tagged fics were published between 2014 and 2016
...For a rating into which I rarely-if-ever personally venture, it certainly has a wealth of stats.
Work Length and Completion Status
Combining these two under one header, as they’re pretty tied-together and didn’t yield too many significant results. About 71% of all Flommy-tagged works are Oneshots, which assures that completed works will hold at least the same share within the Completion Status measure before factoring in Multichaps (which brings it up to about 81% complete). I instead put these measures against the others in the hopes of finding some interesting call-outs; after making up a few charts, there was really only one that I felt had a story to tell.
Let’s take a look at the Work Length trend over the years:
Tumblr media
While single-chapter works hold the significant majority share, their reign over multichapter works doesn’t fully begin until 2016. In 2013, the Oneshot count was less than half the Multichap count, and the following two years showed a less than 10 work-difference between the majority category and the other. And while the year is not yet complete, 2020 is currently tracking towards following a similar pattern to the early years of the tag.
Additional Relationships
This one is going to serve as our jumping-off point for Part 2, and get us into the motivating factor for my research. Here’s one chart to say it all:
Tumblr media
...Yup, that’s less than a quarter of Flommy-tagged works that a) have Flommy as the sole romantically-tagged relationship, or b) have other romantic relationships tagged that are not Oliver/Felicity.
That’s an answer in-and-of-itself, but my research question was two-fold: how else does this break down? How many works tagged for both pairings are compilations, such as oneshot prompt collections where the pairing varies by chapter; how many are OT3s; how many fall into a different category, whether a platonic pairing is improperly tagged or one pairing is the endgame or any other reason that doesn’t fit in any of the other categories?
We’ll get this breakdown--and a zoomed-in look at the measures covered in this installment--in Part 2, coming soon.

The Darkside—Dark Reylo Anthology Guidelines
This is our first anthology ever specifically for Reylo darkfic contents. Here are the general guidelines or rules for taking part in this anthology and future projects.
Definitions
For this anthology and all future projects, the following definitions will apply.
Darkfic:
It would be nice if we could give everyone a clean list of tropes and say “that’s darkfic” but unfortunately, it’s not that easy. There are common tropes you see in darkfic—non-con, incest, extreme underage, kidnapping, confinement—but you can use these tropes and not have a fic be “dark”.
So, defining it darkfic is a bit more complicated than that. Darkfic is much more about mood, tone, and emotion, and the tropes listed above are vehicles used to achieve that. The website Fanlore gives us a good starting point to answer the question of “what is darkfic?”
“Darkfic is fan fiction that deals with intentionally disturbing material, such as physical and emotional violence. The main characters may be the victims of the violence, the perpetrators, or both. The mood and atmosphere are characterized by a shift away from optimism, toward despair or hopelessness, or even a gleeful exploration of the disturbing. Darkfics do not usually have happy endings.” <link>
Essentially, darkfic should challenge the reader by being disturbing. There are many ways to achieve this, using social taboos, having characters that do actions that are reviled, using situations we are afraid of—the goal is to make a reader unsettled and uncomfortable, even as they are intrigued. A character that is both evil and sympathetic, for example, creates a situation where a reader is uncomfortable with their reactions of sympathizing or even cheering for someone who is doing things, they find wrong.
Common darkfic tropes include non-con, incest, bestiality, extreme underage (under 16), non-consensual drug use, kidnapping and confinement, and extreme violence, which either happen to or are done by the main characters.
Darkfic Lite:
For the Reylo darkfic anthology, as a way to allow authors who are interested in darkfic but not sure they can handle jumping in full force, we also will allow a few slots for what we’re calling “Darkfic Lite” fics. Darkfic lite, for our purposes, will be fics that use dark themes and tropes readers may find uncomfortable, while not crossing the line into being disturbing. Tropes we feel are common for darkfic lite are dubcon, stalking, obsessive behavior, underage (16+), coercion, power imbalance, revenge, and mild violence.
We can use the tropes listed here as guidelines, but remember the tropes themselves define neither darkfic or darkfic lite. You can create a darkfic with dubcon and coercion if you intend the fic to be disturbing to a reader. A fic with non-con but otherwise sanitized down so readers are uncomfortable but not disturbed may fall into darkfic lite.
Ratings
We will consider projects from Teen. We encourage Mature and Explicit because of common themes found in darkfics.
Genres
We do not permit the following genres: fluff or general humor. We do permit dark humor including crack.
All other genres are permitted, however, please keep in mind the definition of darkfic and darkfic lite provided for projects.
Length/Completion
We require works to be at least 1500 words.
Works may be multi-chapter or one-shot but must be completed at the time of release.
You may continue a project later after release. But for the anthologies, all projects should be label complete when submitted.
Deadlines and Dates
March 31, 2019: Sign up opens
April 14, 2019 (11:59pm EST): Sign up closes
May 22, 2019: Participating Authors submit a summary or description of their work.
June 22, 2019: Completed works due.
July 3, 2019: All fics posted to the collection (initial release under anon).
Submission Guidelines
All works must be submitted by the posted deadlines. All projects will be on a first come, first served basis. So, if you missed deadlines, we cannot guarantee you will get the theme or prompt you would like.
All projects or fics are required to have a summary provided to the Mods by the specified deadline. Consider this your fic description.
We do not require outlines, however a description or summary of your work will be required.
We do not require betas although strongly encouraged. If you would like a Mod to beta, please submit via ask or message. If you would like to offer your services as a beta, feel free to message us.
Final drafts will be reviewed by the organizers before the anthology release.
Works may not be used to target any individual, group, ethnicity, or religion.
Moderators reserve the right to reject works we believe violate the integrity of the anthology.
Anonymous submissions are allowed but the Mods must be notified who is writing. This will be kept strictly confidential if you decided to post anon. Pseudonyms are also permitted.
Themes/Categories/Prompts
All anthologies and projects will have general themes or prompt associated with them.
Writers must pick one of the provided themes as well as the category (canonverse,  alternative universe, or darkfic lite) they wish to write. We will assign based on a first come, first serve basis. We will try to assign as much as possible equal precedence to canon verse fics and the alternate universe for darkfic.
Darkfic lite- canon verse or the alternate universe will be on a limited basis each anthology. Once all darkfic lite slots have been filled, there will be no more permitted.
The writer can interpret all anthology themes how they see fit.
Anonymous
All fics and project will be anonymous until the last day of the anthology as specified by the Mods.
Authors may announce their participation in the anthology, but may not publically give away any details about their fic until the author reveal. “Public” platforms include Twitter, Discord, and Tumblr, outside of direct messages.
Tags/ Archive Warnings
Because of the nature of darkfic, PLEASE you all archive warnings provided by A03 of your project contains them. For example, non-con.
Moderators reserve the right to request a tag be added if we feel it is needed.
Please tag your projects appropriate as we do not want you to draw unwanted or negative attention to darkfics.
Please tag all anthology projects with the anthology name or title.
The most important thing of all- have fun! If you have questions, please contact us!

2.    How We Use the Information We Collect and With Whom We Share It
1.     How We Use Your Information
The main use of the information we collect, and store is to provide a better gaming experience, but there are other uses as well. The uses for which we collect and store your information include:
to create your game accounts and allow you to play our games;
to operate, improve and optimize our Services and our players’ experiences;

to enable players to communicate with each other;
to provide technical support and respond to player inquiries;
to protect the safety and well-being of our players;
to protect Fun Gaming rights and property in connection with our Services;
to prevent fraud or potentially illegal activities, and to enforce our Terms of Service;
to manage and deliver contextual and behavioral advertising;

to administer rewards, surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or other promotional activities or events sponsored or managed by us or our business partners;
to comply with our legal obligations, resolve any disputes we may have with you or other players, and to enforce our agreements with third parties; and
to conduct research.
One important use of your information is communication. If you have provided your e-mail address to FunGaming, we will use it to respond to customer support inquiries, and keep you informed of your in-game activity, including comments from friends, let you know about in-game status and promotions as well as tell you about gift and neighbor requests. Some messages, like invites for friends to join you in a game, may include your name and profile photo. We may also send promotional e-mail messages and promotional SMS messages (e.g. text messages) ("Promotional Communications") directly or in partnership with other parties, in accordance with your marketing preferences. Each Promotional Communication will offer you choices about receiving additional messages. Receipt of such communications depends on FunGaming having certain contact information from you. If you play one of our games designed for children under 13, you will not be able to provide us with certain contact information. Please see the section on Our Policies Concerning Children for more information.
2.     How We Share Your Information
We may disclose or publish aggregated information (information about you and other players collectively that is not intended to specifically identify you, for example, players between the ages of 25 and 30 who live Chicago) and other non-personal information about our players for industry analysis, demographic profiling, marketing, analytics, advertising, and other business purposes. In addition, we may share your information (which may include personal information) with third parties (in other words, parties other than FunGaming) or allow third parties to collect this information from our Services in the following circumstances:
3.     Your Consent
With your consent, we may share your information with third parties or allow them to collect your information from our Services in some ways not specifically described in this Privacy Policy.
4.     Aggregated and Analytical Information
We use anonymous, statistical or aggregated information and may share it with our partners for legitimate business purposes. It has no effect on your privacy, because there is no reasonable way to extract data from the aggregated information that can be associated with you. We will share your identifiable information only subject to the terms of this policy, or subject to your prior consent.
5.     Friends and Other FunGaming Players
The Service supports and often encourages you to interact with other players. In most Fun Gamings, if you play through a social network or register through a social network (for example, Facebook Connect), your social network friends will see your name, profile photo and descriptions of your game activity.
