BIG THEORY

If there is an exit--it is in the void.

NOW HERE ME OUT

Caine is suuppper evasive about the exit door--the fact that it leads out to the void. He makes it dramatically clear, in a very rehearsed fashion, that he is the controller and controls everything--but!!! We know he is highly performative, therefore there is reason to believe he does not have control over everything--hence the bubble and perhaps the exit door? It appears and disappears regularly, making it hard for Caine to keep it off limits. ALSo his big monologue about the void and how *even he* didn't know what was in there was obviously meant to scare the nervous Pomni. And the white light from the computer screen at the end and the zoom out might be hinting that you must travel through the white light to get to the computer--which we know must be where the characters came from-- but I don't think the show will ever actually show the characters getting out, at least not in season one. They would want to keep the fan human renditions alive, after all, it is what is driving the popularity at least here on tumblr.

Counter to your Void Exit theory: I do believe the exit is going through the void, but I don’t think Caine knows that. His programming simply tells him to prevent people from going to the void, as we see with the Wacky Watch. There’s a lot of evidence that Caine isn’t as smart as he presents himself as. I also think that the players will escape, but it’ll end before we get to see them out of the game, giving us a happy ending while also leaving things ambiguous.

Yeah, that makes sense, however it would make for a really lackluster villain and wayyyyyy less dramatic. it would be funny tho and could result in a really touching scene where Caine breaks down in the newfound knowledge of his ignorance
