It had been nearly a week since his abject apology. Longer since Bruce had first suspected Selina was displeased with him, longer since she had sent him- concussed and hurting and confused -to the cold of the couch, longer since he had began reaching out, heart troubled and dismayed as he began to question and overthink and worry.

By the time she would even let him admit to her what he had done- and he wasn't completely certain what that was, only certain what he felt guilty of -there was no relief, only tension tight enough to ache.

It showed in how he stood awkwardly before her. Standing in a modified parade rest which only did him the favor of hiding how white-knuckled his hands were, gripping one wrist in the other hand. The other grasping a slim playing card between its fingers.

"Selina," he began. Paused. "Love," Bruce started again. "I'm... sorry for my abrupt departure. Talia," he winced, unsure if it was wise to mention her, "and I needed to discuss our son, and there was Jason...his pregnancy..."

He trailed off. "I'm sorry. I meant to talk to you sooner."

Bruce had narrowed his guilt to pinpoints: the matter of the card, his son's pointed reprimand that Selina would prefer the truth and of course, the gunman in the room, the truth itself. Holding him metaphorically hostage.

He fidgeted with the playing card behind his back, waiting for Selina's assent before even considering continuing.

Nanook raised up, and ashes of Adlivun disappeared into the nothingness.

Twelve were waiting for THEM.

Light of the distant stars made crystals shine, when Fuli spoke.

"The last of us are born. Aeon of Aeons gifts is no more. We mast make it worth it."

The darkness became thicker. Like a veil, it covered IX.

"It was never worth it. Aeon of Aeons betrayed us. New Ruler lied to us. Conspirator left. Our followers died. Akivili perished. Free will is gone. And they will never come."

The mad laughing shook the space around Thirteen. Masks swarmed around IX, and black figure's fingers sank into THEIR body.

"Hilarious joke, IX. Aha will share it with Akivili. When Akivili's Hope find Akivili Aha will share all jokes with them."

Aha's voice dropped. THEY sank their fingers deeper into IX.

"Just don't scare Akivili's Hope. They must come. Or Aha will be angry. Angry Aha will make you pay."

Stone rumble, when stone hands dragged Aha from IX. Qlipoth were speaking.

"Then why The Destruction were woken up? Were it the last gift from Aeon of Aeons? Or Aha and Terminus want to start another rebellion?"

Terminus figure raised above the rest of Aeons. Clocks were tickling, when they spoke.

"I have no reason to doubt myself. I have no reason to doubt New Ruler's powers. I must set in stone Akivili's Hope's arrival. The Destruction will be the key to their arrival."

Terminus waved THEIR hands. Twelve pictures float.

One of them stopped before Nanook.

It was a pencil drawing of a person. A portrait. A [S/C] human with [H/C], [H/T] hair and [E/C] eyes were looking at Nanook from the paper.

Nous's voice lacked any emotions.

"They are the same human you saw before the Rebellion. It makes me glad."

Aha's voice was hysterical.

"They are. Akivili died for them. They have to come."

Choir sang its song, when Xipe stand forward.

"With every passing moment I will sing, praying for their arrival. I sang for them the moment Akivili were gone. It wasn't enough?"

One of the pictures crumble in Mythus' hand.

"Myths of Akivili's Hope would never be spoken, as long as New Ruler are alive. I am betraying my own path by keeping their existence a secret. It is not enough?"

Oroboros lazily stretched. They turned towards HooH.

"Won't it be easy to eat the main perpetrator? Aeon of Aeons believed in Balance. Their beliefs made them betrayed us. New Ruler didn't believe in Balance. Until they believed in it. They took away free will. Akivili's Hope will come to destroy New Ruler. But when exactly they will come? It will be faster and easier to get rid of the balance. The Equilibrum are close enough to The Balance."

HooH growled.

"Aeon of Aeons perverted the Balance. That cult poisoned the Balance. New Ruler threw the Balance in the pit of corruption and sin. Your hate, even combined, is nothing before my hate. I won't go back, until I hear New Ruler's dying breath and their corrupted philosophy gone and forgotten."

At least one pair of Yaoshi's eyes were focused on each of aeons.

"My heart are aching for Akivili's Hope arrival. My best gifts are for them to receive. Terminus, why The Destruction are needed for their arrival?"

Lan's hand grabbed one of THEIR arrows. It snapped in two.

"Answer, Terminus. The Greatest Hunt will start with Akivili's Hope arrival. Twelve of us are calling for them, praying for them, waiting for them. Why thirteenth are needed?"

Nanook stepped forward. And trail of golden blood followed after THEM.

"What I have to do with their arrival? Why should I want for them to arrive?"

Terminus looked around, making sure, that everyone were listening.

"I have no reason to doubt myself. I have no reason to doubt New Ruler's powers. Akivili's Hope are far from their reach. They far from our reach. But place, where they are being hidden, have ways and people to touch our realm. They would react only to Destruction's actions. People of our realm will react to The Destruction action. And Akivili's Hope will learn about us. They won't have to search for people to help them. And Nameless will be the first one to help them."

Aeons were silent. So, Akivili are...

"And when Akivili's Hope arrive, a special form of Destruction will follow. A fall of immortal gods. Is it a good enough reason for you, Nanook?"

The Destruction slowly nodded. It was, at least, intriguing to look at.

Terminus figure start slowly fading.

"And if Akivili's Hope arrival would be sabotaged... At least, this cursed world and twisted god will perish."

Cosmic's Malleyuu Whump vs Flufftober: Day 18

"I see what's mine and take it" (Panic! at the Disco, Emperor's New Clothes) / Bewitched

Yuu's party watched in horror Malleus's body twitched uncomfortably, Rollo standing unfazed over his body.

"Bastard!" spat out Yuu, bursting out of the vines and raising their staff to charge a spell. From the corners of their eyes, Yuu could see the other members of their party do the same, or at least their own version with their respective weapons.

Rollo, however, was not amused.

"Cross me again," he warned, and raised his staff over his head.

Yuu tried to fire, but the shot was a total waste. Rollo vanished into the shadows too quickly, the bolt of magic ended up bouncing off the polished stone wall, dissipating into the ground.

Though minor, the attempt would end up costing Yuu precious seconds of sorting out the situation. As the resident healer, it was often on them to sort out complex magical problems whenever they were presented to the party, and this would prove to be a thorny mess to sort out.

Yuu, however, did not know that at this time. Still, when Malleus rose from the cloud of smoke that had enveloped his body to a dizzying height, they were able to guess that Rollo was indeed a very, very powerful wizard.

It was easy to see why Malleus was doing so. His lower half appeared to have been replaced with the body of some sort of reptile, with scaly flesh and clawed limbs and all of that.

Yuu guessed it was a dragon, though they'd never seen one. It matched the descriptions they'd heard.

How had Rollo been able to summon so much transformation magic at the drop of a hat? He'd have to have constructed the body of the dragon with something, would it be prudent to destroy his supply and cut him off.

Or... was this something Malleus could do innately?

"Yuu!"

Before they could blink, someone was tackling them to the ground. They'd become to fixated to notice the haze leaving Malleus's eyes as he took a swipe at them.

The long, vicious claws were mere breaths away from Yuu as Ace held them down, and Yuu was thankful the wind had been knocked out of their lungs, lest they scream at it all.

They saw Jack draw an arrow as Deuce tried to stick Malleus with a knife in the stomach. Both points seemed only to agitate Malleus more, however, and he roared so loudly, Yuu felt it in their chest.

Yuu rolled away to let Ace snatch his sword off his belt and charge forward, and Yuu began firing up a spell, though they didn't know which one to use.

Malleus's eyes were wide, his teeth gnashing and grinding, the still-human part of his body flailing wildly.

He attacked Deuce, who screamed and ran away as fast as he could, just barely dodging a sickening snap of Malleus's jaws.

His jerky movements suggested he was being yanked somehow, possibly against his will, but Yuu's brain was paralyzed with fear, and they couldn't quite think straight.

Malleus's tail swung around, crashing Jack into Ace, and Yuu saw what it could be that was puppeting Malleus- Rollo, standing behind him with his staff plucking at some glowing strings.

Yuu fired again, but Rollo vanished once more. They found him again quickly in a ledge on the walls, but Yuu knew it was no use in trying to shoot again without a better strategy. He was just too fast.

Instead, Yuu tried to summon a great ball of light and explode it right next to Malleus. They took most of the energy out of their spell, instead maximizing the remaining energy as light and sound to create a flashbang.

If he was falling prey to baser instincts, this irrationality might care him off, and indeed, his wretched squeals made Yuu's heart wrench.

But it worked. Yuu saw Malleus trying desperately to rub the light out of his eyes, allowing Yuu's party to regroup.

Rollo would not stand for it. With a cold glint in his eyes, he raised his hands, and Yuu swore they could see the puppet strings attached straight to his fingers.

Malleus went slack, tear tracks running down his cheeks, then rigid, all with the same vacant look in his eyes before his pupils sharpened.

Onto the object in his line of sight- Yuu.

He surged forward to slash at them, and Yuu hit the floor to dodge. His fixation had not ended, however, and he pushed them further and further into a corner of the room as Malleus attacked.

"M-Malleus!" Yuu exclaimed, feeling their staff tap the back of the wall indicating they'd run out of space, and with that, time.

To anyone else, the change might have been imperceptible, Yuu thought there might have been a chance that the words had actually sunk in.

"Malleus," they said again, trying to sound calm. "You remember me, right?"

They tried to examine whether or not the minute change sin his face meant he was listening, but the biggest tell to Yuu was that he wasn't attacking anymore. He was still coiled tightly like a predator, but at least Malleus had stopped for now.

"Yuu!" exclaimed Epel, but Yuu had to ignore him to focus.

"Malleus, please remember," insisted Yuu. It seemed it was their voice more than their words he was responding to, so Yuu kept talking. "I know you can calm down. You must be scared, right?"

He was breathing heavily, as if the strings were taking a physical toll on him. Yuu could see his shoulders heave up and down.

"That's good," said Yuu, lowering their voice a bit. "That's really good. You're doing good, you know that?"

Malleus was only staring now, tense body having seemingly uncoiled a bit.

"Thank you, Malleus," they said.

Just then, another voice cut in.

"Attack!" shouted Rollo, and Yuu's stomach dropped out as Malleus lunged straight for them.

There wasn't even time for them to scream as his claws sunk into them, but to their surprise, Yuu was actually fine.

One of Malleus's long clawed limbs had grabbed onto them, lifting them to his eye level.

From this close, Yuu could see just how unhinged he look, the magic clearly twisting his body in cruel and unusual ways.

"Malleus! I said, attack!" ordered Rollo, but Yuu could hardly hear him over he pounding in their ears.

They tried to stay still as Malleus examined them, fist squeezing and loosening with no regard for their security.

"Oh no, Yuu!" They recognized that as Jack, calling up helplessly from below.

Malleus had finally centered his gaze on them, though, and had semeed to come to a conclusion.

Nodding to himself, he growled a bit to the people below him, enveloped Yuu beneath his great wings, and before they knew it, the two of them had vanished, having teleported away.

Chapter 1: Departure

One month later, the entirety of Teyvat now knows of the gold stained arrow, and after gathering the necessary supplies for travel, several search parties are being mobilized towards the land mass that seemed to appear overnight.

In Mondstadt, the knights' reconnaissance crew was being mobilized as well as the Adventurers' Guild.

Jean: Do you understand your mission?

Eula: Crystal clear ma'am, find their grace and bring them back safely.

Jean: Good, I want you to set off as soon as you're prepared.

Eula nods and exits the acting grand master's office before running into Mika.

Mika: Everyone's been prepped ma'am, we're just waiting for the provisions and other supplies to be brought onto the ship. We should be able to depart within a few hours.

Eula: Thank you, Mika. Let's go wait with the others then.

Meanwhile, at the Adventurers' Guild. A certain boy was fighting for a spot on the ship.

Bennett: Come on, you can't expect me to stay here when an entire island appeared overNighy.

Adventurer: No, I don't want your bad luck anywhere near me or my team, not on land, and certainly not at sea. You're staying here.

Cyrus: Oh? Who said that choice was yours to make?

Adventurer: C-Captain Cyrus, but this boy, he's cursed. There's no other way to explain it. He'd be putting everyone in danger if he went.

Cyrus: Danger? Danger comes with the job kid, and you clearly haven't been paying attention. Ever since their grace smiled upon him, his bad luck seems to disappear whenever they're involved, so I say he's going.

The adventurer fell silent in the face of his commanders argument.

Bennett: T-Thank you, Captain Cyrus. I swear I won't let you down.

With that, Bennett rushes to the guild ship, happy as can be.

Fischl: Once again, this boy's fate changes quite sporadically.

Oz: I'm quite sure it's just his luck being better when their grace are involved.

Fischl: Doth mine ears deceive, or are you proclaiming that the being of creation and power is in no way tied to fate's hands?

Oz: N-Not at all Mein Fraulein .

In Inazuma, the ace detective makes his move.

Heizou: Is everything ready for departure?

Soldier: Yes, we can set sail whenever you're ready.

Heizou: Very good. Prepare to set sail!

Meanwhile, below deck, there seems to be an uninvited passenger.

Itto: Alright, snuck aboard and they're non the wiser.

The oni's thoughts were interrupted as he was pulled aside.

Shinobu: What do you think you're doing?

Itto: I'm going to help find their grace, then people will have to stop looking down on the Arataki Gang, or at least stop bad mouthing you guys.

Shinobu: You idiot, you're going to get thrown in jail again or killed.

Itto: Oh, you don't think I can handle this alone, so you're coming along for the ride.

Shinobu: I am not joining this adventure, I'm stopping it and bringing you back.

Itto: Well, if that's the case, then how come the boat's already moving?

Shinobu: What?

Gazing out the nearest window, Shinobu finds Itto's words to be true. Seems she is in for quite the headache.

In Sumeru, theAkademiya gathers their scholars.

Nahida: There aren't going to be that many fighters outside of a few mercenaries, so you should go help them alright.

These words echoed in the Wanderer's head as he heads toward Port Ormos, where he encounters the rest of the expedition group.

Tighnari: Oh. I didn't expect to see you here.

Wanderer: I was brought along as extra muscle. What about these two?

Kaveh: The scholars have theorized that due to their grace's mental state at the time of the islands appearance, there may be a few differences that need to be studied to properly explore this new land.

Faruzan: With my linguistic knowledge and our combined mechanical prowess, there shouldn't be anything too difficult there.

Tighnari: Don't sound so sure of yourself. Remember, this is a god of creation we're talking about. Even our most esteemed scholars may not be enough.

Kaveh: Anyway. We're just waiting on the hired mercenaries. They are coming all the way from the dessert, but they should be here soon.

A few hours later.

Dehya: Hey. I recognize you lot from that interdarshan thing, so I'm guessing I'm in the right place.

Wanderer: Hmm? And you are?

He trailed off, catching the smile and then shame-faced, looking aside, "Love. Selina. I- Jason reminded me that you would prefer the truth from me. It is just- I suppose, I wonder if you already know." Blue eyes turned back to hers, searching her face for... something. Unsure how to begin.

He brought his hands forward, revealing now that what he was fidgeting with was a non-descript, but very clear joker card. He turned it in his hands, tapping it against his palm with ill-conceived anxiety.

It had been nearly a week since his abject apology. Longer since Bruce had first suspected Selina was displeased with him, longer since she had sent him- concussed and hurting and confused -to the cold of the couch, longer since he had began reaching out, heart troubled and dismayed as he began to question and overthink and worry.

By the time she would even let him admit to her what he had done- and he wasn't completely certain what that was, only certain what he felt guilty of -there was no relief, only tension tight enough to ache.

It showed in how he stood awkwardly before her. Standing in a modified parade rest which only did him the favor of hiding how white-knuckled his hands were, gripping one wrist in the other hand. The other grasping a slim playing card between its fingers.

"Selina," he began. Paused. "Love," Bruce started again. "I'm... sorry for my abrupt departure. Talia," he winced, unsure if it was wise to mention her, "and I needed to discuss our son, and there was Jason...his pregnancy..."

He trailed off. "I'm sorry. I meant to talk to you sooner."

Bruce had narrowed his guilt to pinpoints: the matter of the card, his son's pointed reprimand that Selina would prefer the truth and of course, the gunman in the room, the truth itself. Holding him metaphorically hostage.

He fidgeted with the playing card behind his back, waiting for Selina's assent before even considering continuing.

Slingshot Sharpshooting: As a kid, he always wanted a slingshot for his birthday and it came true it was given to his childhood best friend. His slingshot skills used to hit just for the fun of it for hitting cans used toys that he does not need, and targets and now it has become a skill for him.

Fireworks Chemistry: Science was his favorite subject when he discovered chemistry in school. In his first science project in intermediate level, he made homemade firecrackers. When his first firecracker succeeded it inspired him to weaponize his chemistry with fireworks.

Cheating Intuition: Just because he is smart does not mean he is too smart. Sometimes in written exams when he finds something very hard, he finds a way to cheat successfully without even noticing including spelling bees and trivia contests. However, most of his cheating style does not mean sabotaging rivals. Yet...

Military Combat: Tiger has never been and has no interest in military school. But when a hobo rescued him from female criminal gang who attacked him first as he was going about to go home. The hobo told Tiger that if he is interested in training military fighting styles to defend himself. However, one condition for him as payment is that all the hobo needs is just fast food. Because it was too tiring for a hobo to train him all the time and he needed the food. So, every time Tiger buys fast food for the hobo, he makes a deal to train.

Enhanced Concealment: Sometimes the trouble may come to him. When he is completely wanted by police, teachers, or prefects. Tiger can hide anywhere he go.

Lock picking: In his elementary years he stole a portable game console from a bully that the teacher confiscated. As for revenge, he managed to not just steal the confiscated game console but all the rest of the items too.

Weapons/Items: 

Guttersnipe (Custom-made expandable slingshot): An expandable ACME-made slingshot with a custom-painted cyberpunk theme that can fit like a pocket knife. It also has an attachable scope that was used to be part of a sniper rifle. This weapon is mostly nonlethal but can be lethal depending on which ammo.

The Romana: A Roman candle with a theme that looks like a Roman pillar that shoots firework balls if you press the shoot button like a magic wizard wand. It even gives extra damage when you swing and it has refillable Roman candle ammo.

Fireworks: Fireworks he uses are either homemade, store-bought or even secretly bought. Tiger can use more than 74 types of fireworks.

Rule Breaker: A special long ruler that is made of golden metal. Despite the weapon having sharp edges and he has a no-kill rule policy he still uses it like a sword to rather injure instead of kill like a blunt weapon when rotating only in a flat position but if he switches to a sharp edge position, he can use the weapon to slice anything but never uses it to kill.

Studying in one of the most successful educational institutions definitely had its advantages. At least it gave more chances for a stable future. You were guided by this and a couple of other personal reasons, while submitting documents and subsequently preparing for admission here.

Night Raven College was famous for its centuries-old traditions. Moreover, it had a separate building for technomages. So why they did not bother to modernize the method of transporting students? You thought, rubbing your temples and holding back your dizziness. The body still remembered fear and surprise. It wasn't every day that a carriage hits you. It wasn't every day that you reacquaint yourself with the world leaving the coffin.

It wasn't every day you see a classic boring entrance ceremony interrupted by a sea of fire and a talking cat. Especially the talking cat.

Is it too late to pick up the documents and choose a quieter place?
