Since we're talking abt Mafuyu here i will speak my hcs for him and his system

Yuki: host, fronts when they're with niigo and don't have to mask. He/him trans man. Demisexual/demiromantic, polyam, in love with niigo.

Mafuyu: the "mask", fronts at school/outside. Doesn't have any memories of their mom being bad to them. She/her, greysexual/romantic, polyam and likes Kanade and Shizuku

OWN: the "protector", he/they. wants to keep the system safe so when the mom fucks up a lot he fronts to be angry and has everyone's traumatic memories. Doesn't like fronting bc everytime he fronts it means some shit happened. Probably acearo.

TinyFuyu: just uses Mafuyu as a name too, is the little, between 6 and 8yo, got split when they were that age and never aged with the body. Sometimes fronts to live something the system never got to as a kid or couldn't after a certain age due to mom being a bitch. Also doesn't have bad memories of their mother.

Ik the common hc is Mafuyu being the host and Yuki the "mask" i just disagree since they only use Yuki with niigo

okay buckle up i have a LOT TO SAY on this one. please save any comments for after youve finished reading this entire post.

i know sysmafuyu is a VERY COMMON headcanon among this fanbase, i know it is cherished i know it is loved, to a point a good handful of people will unironically think it is a canonical thing, when sadly it is not.

commonly, within the sysmafu headcanons, we have her two other alters; yuki + own. yuki is characterized as mafuyu's good girl persona whilst own is characterized as this edgy boy (unsure specifically where that one came from, save from white day? feel free to give more insight, mafuyu fans)

although as i just said yuki is characterized as mafuyus good girl persona. persona. an act, she purposefully puts on because of how overbearing and overcontrolling her mother is. this is not inherently plural.

own, or OWN, is a username mafuyu went by to upload music anonymously, the reason its called "own" is because its finally her own space, free from her mothers shackles, this again; is not inherently plural

the way mafuyu exists as a character (and thus grows and learns more As A Person, thats what pjsk is literally all about; change and hashtag friendship) has absolutely no signs of plurality; she is extremely monotone, very autism creature for lack of a better word ( just her expression + tone of voice usually, im not saying she has autism ) and when interacting with strangers or people shes not as close to as her group mates, she puts on the good girl persona that her mother thinks she is, mafuyu purposefully acts that way. it is important to her as a character that she is purposefully acting that way.

there ARE HOWEVER emotional dissociative barriers, which is not exclusive to systems + plurality

bc hes the (and i use this lightly) "host", hes the best actor among them bc well hes got the Experience tm However

he could be rehearsing on stage and then his brain gets buzzy and then his acting gets Wobbly or worse the closer/heavier it gets, luckily with rehearsals he can just let it Happen for a minute (usually takes abt 30mins to an Hour, not too bad for wxs) so maybe he can recover and come back

during this time sorta where tsukasas having this frankly heavy dissociative episode out of NOWHERE, emu nene and rui all do thier hardest to either recheck all the stage stuff Or allow tsukasa a space where if a headmate does fully front they have the freedom and ability to ask the other three questions, emunenerui are always as welcoming as they can and if the headmate is a good actor! woo! sub in for kasa for a bit (which yes would make the rehearsal slower but the other three dont mind ((kasa Does mind tho a Lot))

this isnt a super common experience for wxs btw but it happens enough where theres a routine for it usually tsukasas headmates are only ever co-con and not fronting but it varies day to day

Same person who asked the Transmasc Mafuyu question, but do you also know the origin of the SysMafuyu hc? Asking because we're a system ourselves and really like that particular one, even if it's less common than Transmasc Mafuyu

I do actually!! Ok so, Mafuyu has a "persona" as a good girl, and Own happened when Mafuyu was way more depressed. So the three names Mafuyu already went by, and her memory/dissociative problems, got systems looking at her and going "thats me".

So SysMafu started to exist, personally i believe both Yuki and Own are transmasc and Mafuyu, the "good girl persona" isn't. But the specifics change with whoever headcanons them

system hcs shouldn't just be slight redesigns of mafuyu, they should like, idk Show the Disorder? show how the other headmates interact with the other characters including mafu !!

and i say this as a part of a system myself!! and maybe we just need to see if theres any good sysmafu fics out there that do it better but all i see is the fanarts and they're :( wrong :(
