How does one philosophically approach the question of a squeaky clean conscience after washing the dishes?
The simple act of washing dishes, a mundane chore in the daily routine, can serve as a profound metaphor for examining the state of our conscience. Just as we scrub away the grime and residue from plates and utensils, we can contemplate the process of cleansing our moral and ethical selves. This article explores how one might philosophically approach the concept of achieving a squeaky clean…

Holding Me Holding You Ch. 7 WIP snippet
[potentially lil' spoiler if you catch it] Oh, link to story here
____________
Who are you?
Sometimes, the spirits do not answer. Sometimes, they speak first, before he can even start the questions, raking the strings repeatedly in their anguish. Sometimes, they try to tear the guqin from him, try to rend his clothes, squeeze his throat. Sometimes, banishment is the only way.
The sudden shrieks and roars at night startle everyone from sleep. If Wangji was well, he would be here. He is known for going where the chaos is.
(Is that what had led him to this? To Wei Wuxian? An affinity for soothing chaos? For chaos itself?)
Who are you?
'Don’t know. Want to go home--’
"I can't anymore, zongzhu, I-I--"
"It's alright. Return to the Cloud Recesses. You’ve done enough."
Sometimes, he wakes in the night to find that he is in the middle of dressing, having no memory of doing so, a clump of cleansing talismans clutched in his numb hands. He has cut down so many fierce corpses, he’s lost count.
Who are you?
Food is tasteless mud in his mouth.
Who are you?
Every night, he is sure to take the medicine that gives him no dreams.
‘Oh gods oh gods ohgodsohgods--’
Every night, he prays that he has not left Uncle overwhelmed, that his people are being cleansed and healed back home, that Wangji has stopped bleeding, that A-Yuan is healing, that A-Fu is….
Who are you?
(What right do you have?)
What must be done so you can rest?
He has been here for days that run into one, long, dark, meaningless drain.
‘My son. My baby, where is he?'
Who are you?
‘Pan Liu.’
His raw fingers pause on Linhai’s strings, still humming. Rain patters quietly on the hat that shields his face from it.
He knows that name.

Out of curiosity, what kind of rituals do you do when it comes to reading your tarot cards? Cleansing, how you read/interpret them? Do you document your readings? I've been reading tarot for a little while but it's always just a fun little side thing where I shuffle cards, pull them, and use the book the deck came with to interpret them as best as possible. I do occasionally cleanse them, too, but I'm curious about your rituals?
Okay so one thing about me is that I suck at regularly cleansing my tools with like, other things. I know I should probably smoke cleanse them with some incense or moonlight or whatever, but I also have 15 decks total and man that's a lot of work and I also do not have the windowsill space for it. I also have... cats that like to jump up into said windowsills and will 100% knock them down.
Usually I just cleanse as I use them. My method is just putting them back in order and then doing a big shuffle. I do this weird way of shuffling that I made up because my hands are too small to shuffle normally. I'll include a video... gif... or something below but basically I like, hold them in one hand, loosely bring up cards with two fingers on my other, and keep doing that, switching between putting them right side and reversed into pile until I'm left with one card. I put it to the side. Then I pick up the big pile again and repeat. I only do this when getting them shuffled around when they're in order. It's time intensive but it puts that intention of "okay, be shuffled and ready for use" into it.
Heres a really bad video of me doing this:
I mostly just document my monthly readings because I've been lacking on keeping up my tarot practice, but if it's a big spread that I do, I'll usually at least write it on a piece of loose paper with the cards I drew, what the cards mean, and then a little like, summary of me piecing it all together.
With interpretations and meanings I do a few different things. I have a doc with like, a big mish-mash of all the meanings and such that I've read in books, online, etc. It's mostly just keywords though, but it's good if the deck I'm using didn't have a guidebook or if I think said guidebook sucks (I have one that has a sheet of paper that I absolutely hate the interpretations of). Usually though, I start by reading the guidebook that comes with the deck I'm using and that's the meaning I usually go with, though sometimes I don't feel the meanings really fit. Then I look at my big list of keywords and see if any of those really stand out to me for the card in the position in the spread. And if that doesn't work, or if my intuition is really screaming at me, I'll just look at the card, look at the imagery, take into account the suit, number, etc, and then see what words pop up then. Maybe it's a color that stands out and I'll think of words that work with that color, or its the mood on the figures face, etc.
Here, lemme do an example. This is the official D&D Tarot Deck licensed by WOTC (I bought it before I knew all the drama)
Tumblr media
It's a shitty picture but this is this decks version of the 4 of Swords. The card is usually associated with rest and recouperation and I think this deck really shows this well in the D&D setting. They look like a group of travellers who are taking a short rest, which is perfect imagery for the card. I'd look at this and think "Okay for this part of the spread, imagine taking a short rest from it. Let a couple of those spell slots come back." Or if it's in a placement of things to avoid, it could mean be weary of resting for too long and getting too stagnant.

Personally I've found that an easy way to tell if someone is a lost cause for me is if they refuse to accept that "From the river to the sea" isn't a genocidal slogan. Palestinians have explained the meaning. They've explained the history, and how liberation does not equal genocide. It's the same principle we understand with ease in every other situation regarding oppressed parties. Anyone who chooses to ignore their voices in favour of clinging to zionist propaganda is no more worth your time than a right winger insisting Black Lives Matter means white genocide, or that gay pride is an attack on straight people. They have chosen who they want to believe, and what they want to spend their time and energy protesting. And we, in turn, can see exactly who they are and what they stand for. I've found it to be a very useful litmus test for bad faith actors.

The Rose of Jericho: Its Origins and Common Spiritual Uses
Hey there, beautiful people! Today, we're diving into the mystical world of the Rose of Jericho, also known as the "resurrection plant." This little plant is more than just a fascinating botanical wonder; it carries deep spiritual significance and a rich history that spans centuries. Whether you're new to spiritual practices or a seasoned pro, the Rose of Jericho can add a magical touch to your journey.
What is the Rose of Jericho?
The Rose of Jericho isn't your typical rose. It's a small, desert plant that has the incredible ability to survive extreme dehydration. When it's dry, it curls up into a tight ball and appears lifeless. But, once you add water, it miraculously unfurls into a beautiful, green plant. This resurrection-like quality is what makes it so special and revered in various cultures and spiritual practices.
Origins of the Rose of Jericho
The Rose of Jericho, scientifically known as Selaginella lepidophylla, is native to the deserts of the Middle East, particularly around the region of Jericho, hence its name. It thrives in arid environments, demonstrating an extraordinary ability to survive long periods of drought. This plant has been known and used by indigenous peoples for thousands of years, celebrated for its resilience and symbolic resurrection.
Common Spiritual Uses of the Rose of Jericho
Renewal and Rebirth
Because of its ability to "come back to life," the Rose of Jericho is often used in rituals and ceremonies that symbolize renewal, rebirth, and new beginnings. Placing the plant in water and watching it open up can be a powerful visual and spiritual reminder of your own potential for transformation and growth.
Protection and Purification
The Rose of Jericho is also believed to have protective and purifying properties. People often use it to cleanse their homes of negative energy. Simply place the plant in a bowl of water and set it in a central location in your home. The idea is that as the plant absorbs the water, it also absorbs and transforms negative energy, leaving your space refreshed and protected.
Prosperity and Abundance
In some traditions, the Rose of Jericho is associated with attracting prosperity and abundance. To harness this energy, you can place coins or small crystals in the water with the plant. As it opens up, visualize your financial situation flourishing and your life becoming more abundant in every way.
Spiritual Connection
The Rose of Jericho can also be a tool for deepening your spiritual connection. Meditate with the plant, focusing on its transformation from dormancy to vitality. Let it remind you of the cyclical nature of life and the ever-present potential for growth and renewal within yourself.
How to Use the Rose of Jericho in Your Spiritual Practice
Setting Up Your Rose of Jericho
Choose a Bowl: Find a shallow, wide bowl that you love. This will be the home for your Rose of Jericho.
Add Water: Fill the bowl with enough water to cover the base of the plant, but not so much that it’s fully submerged.
Place the Plant: Put the Rose of Jericho in the bowl. Over the next few hours to days, it will start to unfurl and "come to life."
Maintaining Your Rose of Jericho
Change the Water: Refresh the water every few days to prevent stagnation and mold growth.
Dry Periods: Give the plant a break from the water occasionally. Let it dry out completely for a few days before rehydrating it again. This mimics its natural cycle and keeps it healthy.
Incorporating the Rose of Jericho into Rituals
New Moon Ritual: Use the Rose of Jericho during the new moon to set intentions for new beginnings. As the plant opens, visualize your intentions taking root and beginning to grow.
Home Cleansing Ceremony: When moving into a new home or after a significant event, use the Rose of Jericho to cleanse and purify your space.
Prosperity Ritual: Place coins or crystals around the plant in the water. As it opens, meditate on the flow of abundance into your life.
Conclusion
The Rose of Jericho is a beautiful symbol of resilience, renewal, and the cycles of life. Whether you're looking to cleanse your space, attract abundance, or deepen your spiritual practice, this magical plant can be a powerful ally. Embrace its ancient wisdom and let it inspire you to transform and grow, no matter what challenges you face.

I like the deer flame imagery for laurence in the nightmare but there is something so incredibly upsetting about the bloodletting beast, idk despite the fact that his legs melt off in phase 2 in the dlc, there is still something regal about the deer demon his conciseness formed, while the thing with the bloodletting beast is like. What a cruel fate for someone who had been researching evolution and desired to rise above humanity, to regress into a horrid monkey-looking thing. I can see how badly damaged his back is on this version too, no wonder he was so desperate

Dade-County Factions
What was Miami-Dade is now but a shadow of what it once was. The Dade-County area has been mostly reclaimed by The Glades and Wilds. The area’s total population is much less than its Central Florida counterpart. It’s isolated from Orange County due to The Wilds separating the two areas. Trade with the rest of the country’s wastelands is harder to establish because of the dangers of The Wilds, leaving spiked prices and short supply for import goods. While there are many smaller, lesser known tribes in the area there are nine major factions of varying sizes.
Black Dust Gang | BDG
Tumblr media
HQ |  Piña Health Hospital {Baptist Hospital}
Leader | Lorenzo Myers
Although the Black Dust Gang could be labelled as raiders, they are actually neutral and not outwardly violent to the other factions and smaller tribes. The Black Dust Gang is the second largest faction, however that’s mostly due to the fact it handles a lot of the trade and importing of exotic and rare goods. The gang is best known as chem dealers and chem manufactures. A lot of Black Dust Gang members live and operate in New Law Order under treaty agreements.
Brotherhood of Steel | BoS
Tumblr media
HQ | Florida International University
Leader | Julia Roberts
A medium sized faction, that what sent to settle in the Glowing Wasteland. However, due to the factions already established in the Orlando area, The Brotherhood of Steel had to relocate to Dade County. If the Brotherhood had tried to establish a base in the Orlando area, they would quickly be wiped out by the much larger factions such as by the Caspian Company. The Brotherhood have some knowledge about the existence of the Eclipse Republic, however that information is labelled as classified. The core purpose of preserving and reclaiming advance technology still is maintained.
Eclipse Republic
Tumblr media
HQ |  NAVAIR { Naval Air Systems Command Interim Supply Support Facility}
Leader | Eclipse
The Eclipse Republic is an all synth based faction, founded and led by pre-war synth Eclipse. The faction is secretive and not widely know, preferring to work in the shadows and focus on infiltration and sabotage. A small few members originated from The Institute in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The main belief is that humanity has degraded over time and that synths are the path forward. They aim to free all synthetics from humanity. Most Eclipse Republic synths are heavily modified to achieve “perfection”. Despite being made of different generations of synths, the faction is medium size-- rivalling that of The Brotherhood of Steel due to the continued production of developing new synths.
Gator Wings
Tumblr media
HQ | US Armed Forces Military Base {Doral}
Leader | Enrique Gomez ; Gatorhead
A small, but widely infamous, raider tribe that is know as slavers and conquering standalone smaller tribes. They are extremely aggressive and merciless, and are to be avoided at all costs due to their complete savage behaviors and tactics. The gang is lead by its leader, Gatorhead.
New Law Order | NLO
Tumblr media
HQ | Miami International Airport
Leader | Gino Balliol
The New Law Order is the largest faction in Dade County. They maintain justice, and enforcement of the law among majority of the settlements. They provide protection for citizens of the NLO. They often prefer not to get involved with other factions, and try and maintain neutrality. They accept anyone into their settlements as long as there is no malicious intent and remain peaceful. The NLO allow settlements to function independently, as long as peace is kept.
New World Syndicate
Tumblr media
HQ | Vault 55 ; Lil Havana
Leader | Sabina Gomez
A small faction base in an open trade Vault 55. All of the members are vault dwellers, not just of Vault 55 but other members of other vaults. They are rather puritan and while they preach about the new age of Vault-Tec, the New World Syndicate still practice Vault-Tec’s inhumane human experiments. While they hold belief that vault dwellers are still ‘pure’ compared to the parasitic wastelanders, they still practice open trade and establish it’s own caravans.
The Cleansed
Tumblr media
HQ | Bythel Memorial Hospital {Jackson Memorial Hospital}
Leader | Lola Martinez ; The Enlighten One
The Cleanse originally was a branch of the Children of Atom, however broke off when there were conflicts of beliefs. They still are rad eaters and are a religious movement around radiation and nuclear weapons. However the Cleanse believe that radiation can cleanse the body, enlightening one to a new pure form. The faction is very militant, and are solely made of ghouls-- most are self-made ghouls, as in they turned themselves into ghouls by voluntary over-exposure to radiation. Those that survived being turned without dying or becoming a feral ghoul, have been considered ‘cleansed.’
The Flock
Tumblr media
HQ | Seasons Surfside Club
Leader | Sera Oliver ; Overseer Oliver
A very small, but dangerous settlement that is isolated from the rest of the world. The Flock is self-sufficient settlement, and not much is known about it. It is rumored that The Flock hold cult-like behavior and increases its population by buying slaves and condition them to accepting the faction as home and family.
Warheads
Tumblr media
HQ | Riton Grove {The Ritz-Carlton, Coconut Grove}
Leader | Adrian Samuels
A faction that is made up of bounty hunters, and mercenaries. They’re neutral, in that they won’t attack or provoke other factions unless they have been wronged in someway or are paid enough to cause trouble. While they are known to be the best of the best, and high efficient, commissioning a Warhead is far from cheap.

I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
