Also on that note, I barely ever see tiktok therians talk about quads in a more meaningful way than "look how high I cab jump" and that bugs me. I LOVE running on fours. I do it to feel connected to nature and to my animal self. Seeing people do it just because it looks cool is... fine. But I really think it should be more than that?

It's so incredibly refreshing to come from tiktok where people are only talking about drama or purely doing quads to finding Tumblr where people are actually talking about their alterhumanity and how it affects them and how it makes them feel.

I know tiktok is mostly for gaining a following but it is still so nice especially when you can see something new in each post instead of just quads quads quads, talks about therianthropy, quads quads quads. I feel like I can connect to others experiences more on here and find out more about myself through more alterhuman talk.

Therianthropy is not new to us but it is new to the general public. Millions of people assumed that everyone identified with having a human body and being human and now that they've discovered that there are people who don't they are having negative reaction to it. Species is seen as something strictly biological and our existence is disrupting that 'fact' And it's difficult to explain what non-human animal hood is or what it feels like because it's a deeply personal feeling that's unique to everyone. The world needs time and I do think we'll get there eventually.

I concur. And another thing: it bugs me when people are saddened by seeing real fur used in crafts, but they eat meat without remorse. Animal products are in so many things, and you're getting sentimental just because fur products still vaguely resemble the animal they came from? Glue is made of animals. Leather is made of animals. Gelatin is made of animals. Wool is made of animals (except obviously they didn't die for it) in a world where avoiding things being made of animals takes so much effort that its considered a LIFESTYLE, don't feel bad for wearing a real tail.

tip for therians/nonhumans/alterhumans: real fur is not inherently harmful!

in fact, real fur is better for the environment because it is biodegradable. faux fur is made of plastic and will never break down. it also releases millions of microplastics during the creation process.

I keep having dreams where I have wings. Nobody notices them except for me, but I can choose to reveal them to people. They're not magic wings, but real and tangible and when i fly i can feel the wind coursing through them. I think this is less to do with therianthropy and more to do with this one character I feel connected to to the point of "kinning" and its weird/kinda cool
