definitely DEFINITELY wanna do some more hpyu :ppp i have so much angsty stuff for kbnz/dnsn it’ll be nice to draw just some cute hop & gloria lollll (i mean there’s still some angst but compared to the adults? absolutely nowhere close to the same amount lol)

i definitely wanna do a post game, time skip design! i love the idea of older mature hop with his lil lab coat and gloria who’s part time champion part time farmer that works with milo. love the idea of her combining some cute overalls, her champion top and a sunhat ahhh🥺🥺🥺 i always imagined hop walking from wedgehurst to turffield every night after work to pick gloria up, just to walk together all the way back to postwick

i’ve actually had a piece of them planned and in my drafts for a while, i’m on holidays for 2 weeks now so i’m gonna try and get a start on that hehe

i still like legends arceus but game freak will never make a game as massive or with narrative depth like b&w ever again. even if scarlet & violet is like even better than legends arceus, they still pale in comparison to black and white for me

i really thought "the cycle" stopped at gen 5 because it's still getting so much (mostly deserved) hype that gen 6 just hasn't? but i think- hold on this is gonna be a real haterism ill put a read more

the cycle just kinda skipped gen 6 (because there's nothing worth defending besides megas LMAOOO) and went straight to gen 7. so now everyone is lauding it for how good it is (at having a horribly unsatisfying region layout and grinding your forward momentum to a halt every 10 steps to tell you about another location or character)

the story isn't even THAT GOOD there's just more story relative to other pokemon games

anyway finally playing Pokemon Scarlet

It's already solved a few of my biggest gripes I had with SwSh, like how in that game I felt like pretty much every major thing aside from the finale got taken care of off-camera by the champion. Hell they almost seem to be over-apologizing for that in SV by giving you two extra questlines on top of the usual Pokemon League thing

Also finding it at least a bit more difficult than SwSh, which is nice. They've also gotten better at the placement of wild pokemon wandering around the overworld. It's a lot less awkward and jarring than it was in SwSh, more in line with what they did in Legends Arceus

Having fun with it! Still not as good as Legends Arceus though and I am literally here on my knees begging and pleading for Gamefreak to give pokemon back their license to kill, because the threat of my player character getting bodied by pissed off wild pokemon made that game the absolute most fun I've had in a pokemon game in way too long

Also, feel free to add on who else you think could get hit with the eeby deeby - I only put the "base" facility heads here (ie battles with no frontier gimmicks) so there's definitely more options than these.

Reasoning for each under cut:

Palmer: Got "skipped" in the line of Battle Tower leaders for a muppet in L:A. Also, he is Barry's dad, for that sweet sweet angst.

Emmet: I think this one is obvious - besides, it would be a nice parallel for one twin to be thrown into the region before Unova, and one into the region after.

Châtelaines: A bit more unlikely TBH given this is their region, but they're next up after Ingo without counting Emmet.

Red / Blue: Technically, they're the heads of the Battle Tree so they count. Also, Kalos was notorious for Gen 1 nostalgia, so what better way to invoke more Gen 1 than these two? They could even Mega their starters! Blue was even mentioned to have visited Kalos before (by an NPC who mentions a guy who said "Smell ya later!", his iconic quote).

Leon: Head of the Battle Tower in SWSH so I'm counting him. Besides, Britain and France are quite close geographically, only separated by the Channel. It would be really funny (and on-brand) if he got lost and ended up here. Also, he's Hop's brother, for the angst if we want to go that route.

Anabel: Technically, she hasn't been isekai'd in specifically a Legends game yet. Given that Kalos' generation is the one that also remade Hoenn (albeit also snubbing the entire Emerald BF), and Looker has his own Lumiose City sidequest in the postgame, she actually has a reasonable case to show up here.

Ingo: Has nothing to show but sheer popularity - and potentially becoming a recurring character for the Legends games, given he was a relatively oddball pick for L:A to begin with.

You've probably talked about it before, but what was your experience with swsh or scvi? (Positive or negative?)

Pokemon Scarlet I had a lot of fun playing! Like I mentioned in the previous ask, I thought Nemona was a really fun rival and like everyone else I bawled my eyes out at Arvens storyline. Penny I...did not really care for. I don't like her all that much, she annoyed me. Team Star has some really fun admins tho! Taking down the bases I really enjoyed, I wish they would have given you an option to replay those levels with the difficulty being highered in postgame. There were actually a LOT of minigames I wish you could play again. All in all I enjoyed my time with the game and it was definitely a HUGE improvement to the previous generation.

The Selfie-function DEFINITELY was one of my favorite features, LMAO

... I don't really have anything nice to say about Sword and Shield. I ranted about the game a lot in the past and my opinion on it still hasn't changed. The only new thing I've learned about the game a few months back is how unbelievably troubled its production actually was, which certainly does explain the mess we received. That sTILL doesn't milden my opinion on what we got tho. It is no doubt my least favorite Pokemon game. Positive things I CAN say is that the designs for the trainers are fantastic, I love Galarian Ponyta, Snom and Frosmoth and the music slaps hard. But THAT'S ABOUT IT FOR ME

For all “Emmet is accused of and put on trial for murdering Ingo” is great whump fodder, the fact is, there’s evidence that incarceration or even what we think of as traditional criminal justice isn’t really a thing in Pokemon Earth. One of Team Plasma’s Sages, Rood, is given the opportunity to atone for his crimes alongside other former members of Team Plasma to return Pokemon they stole to their trainers. In USUM, Lusamine and Guzma endanger all of Alola with their actions and Lusamine doesn’t appear to face any legal consequences and Guzma starts working under Hala.

And Chairman Rose is particularly egregious, imo. While it’s never said outright what happens to him after the main story, Oleana makes a cameo appearance in the DLC where she’s shown looking for Rose, having heard a man who looks like him (actually Rose’s younger brother Peony) was in the area, implying that Rose is a free man. I suppose he could be on the lamb but that doesn’t seem likely, he lost most of his resolve after being defeated. And the postgame antagonists of SwSh, Sordward and Shielbert, are explicitly free and atoning for their actions using their wealth.

Anyways. Point is, Pokemon Earth is a lot kinder than our world, and Emmet’s not going to get falsely accused, probably.

larry knows all of the gossip in the league, but will never tell because he fundementally Does Not Care.

conversely iono knows none of the gossip bc everyone knows she can't be trusted.

penny is a trans girl. she didn't evolve her eevees differently on purpose, she let them pick what they wanted to be because she has Strong Feelings about shoving people into a box they don't identify with.

team star's bosses are all genderfucked but in different directions. none of them are cis.

penny absolutely kins futaba sakura. she tries to explain the concept of kinning to her friends. arven is baffled; nemona declares that she is victinikin; juliana/florien just nod politely.

if galarians are clowning online, paldeans will reply with pictures of tinkaton launching rocks.

nemona is bi. she has fangirl crushes on every adult champion ever. she cried for a whole day when leon lost at the end of swsh. if she met cynthia she would spontaneously combust.

ever since they got the arceus phone case, juliana/florien have been filled with rage at the sight of the bag shop. they have no clue why.

grusha has chronic pain from his snowboarding injury. he has a cane but doesn't use it because he doesn't want to admit that he needs it.

clavell found out what dabbing was and decided to try it. someone got a photo. said photo IMMEDIATELY went viral.

iono and raihan are good friends but they fake beef online for views. this is one of the bits of gossip that larry knows but doesn't care about. leon also knows and finds it hilarious.

ryme raised dj g-rave from an egg. he's her baby. she dresses him up in cool outfits for holidays.

in the postgame, korai/miraidon likes to get out of its ball while the protag is in class. it wanders around the school. students have declared it to be an unofficial mascot. it loves the snacks that people keep giving it.

sada and turo had a fling, resulting in arven. they tried to make it work as a family, but one of them eventually fucked off to pursue research in another region.

larry is autistic and just can't emote because of it.

juliana and florien are absolute dogshit at making sandwiches, but they keep trying. (inspired by my own inability to make a sandwich look good and not fall over in this game.)

poppy shares her bed with her tinkaton. tinkaton's hammer is carefully put away beside the bed every night. (most kids have cuddly toys in their bed, poppy has a murderous hammer fairy because she's just extra like that.)

rika and grusha are each other's gay best friends. they try to give each other romantic advice but they're both secretly really bad at this. there's a lot of keysmashes sent back and forth.

rika and grusha met at a party, he thought she was a twink, she thought he was a butch. neither of them will discuss what happened with anyone else. (larry is aware, because of course. he called them both "fucking idiots".)

rika had top surgery. clodsire supported her recovery by willingly being a pillow the entire time.
