You can tell when the most interesting thing about a couple is them being different races lmao like no lustful or playful dynamic just memes about trying different food for the first time

Its years after the final battle that Ruby and Annabelle see eachother again. The two hadnt seen eachother in person since the Royal funeral for Jet!
By pure coincidence when Annabelles crew are docked on the Yogurt Shoals for new supplies, it just so happens to be the same coastal town the Swirler Sisters have set up their big top.
Well, why shouldnt the crew of the newly christened boat, the Cold Bottle, pop over to watch a show? It's good entertainment for their time back on land!
The two catch eyes as Ruby swings from rope to rope, and neither are that suprised (however they are bothnervous), as the two end up waiting for the other after the show.
"My Imperial Princess,"
"Captain Annabelle"
They bow at eachother, but neither bother to hide the small snorts of laughter that comes from them, they were already far past formalities at this point.
"I would be lying if I said I hadnt forgotten Primsy telling me you finally joined the Circus! You have quite a talent Princess, I remember seeing you do similar tricks some time ago," she smirks, holding out an arm for Ruby to take.
"Well I'm sure Primsy's blooming relationship with Liam is far more intresting a tale than me running away from court" Ruby laughed, accepting Annabelle's arm as they slowly walked their way down the pier. "Its not like I'm the only one to choose to live their dreams after all, isnt that right Captain?"
She ended her sentence with a cheeky smile and Annabelle couldnt help but gave a small blush as she chuckled at the statement.
"I can only hope Princess, that you are as happy with that decision as the the person you talk about. Freedom looks good on you."
Ruby grinned, her hand gripping Annabelles arm slightly tighter.
She wasnt sure what it was, but something in the way Annabelle called her Princess didnt make it feel so much a title as it did with everyone else. And something about that sent a warm bubbley feeling to her belly.
"Hmm yeah, I think it looks good on the bother of us."

Rewatching A Crown of Candy, and it really makes me appreciate BLM's strategies as a DM. The opening scene in episode 3 is such a good D&D set up.
Ruby Rocks is sitting in a carriage after she was attacked. She's covered in blood minutes after she nearly died. She realizes her prized flyer for the Swirler Sisters is bloodied, then casts Prestidigitation to clean it. Calroy Cruller interrupts the casts and warns her not to cast magic around others. Then it launches into conversation about the political issues around non-divine magic. When Theobald Gumbar joins, Brennan seemingly switches topics to briefly remind Murph that he had an epiphany in the last episode that there didn't seem to be any trace of how the enemy Dairy Islanders had made their way there.
All of that was bait.
Brennan knew Ruby had Prestidigitation and that she always carried the flyer because they were on her character sheet. Useless items typically only go on sheets when they have emotional significance. He wanted her to cast a spell so that Calroy could (a) have a reason to give exposition to a PC about magic, and (b) demonstrate the Mage Slayer feat, which was the only way for him to mechanically be quick enough to catch another rogue's spellcasting hand. (Specifically, because Calroy specialized in killing magic users, and the most innately magical family in the known world is the Rocks family.)
Brennan chose to place Ruby inside the carriage, the only place in the area where she could have privacy. She has no reason to think anyone can see her. He describes her bloodied clothes, hoping that the shock of being covered in her own blood would prompt Ruby to clean it up, but Siobhan only seemed resigned to it. Then he mentioned Ruby's precious memento had been dirtied. That prompted a stronger reaction, and she immediately cleaned it with the assumption no one was watching. Then Calroy has his opening and the scene goes as intended.
In addition, that's also the moment Brennan reminded Murph to think the assassins couldn't have gotten here alone--implying that they had help to sneak to the planned travel route undetected. He could have waited for a conversation with the other soldiers about what to do, and he brought it in early precisely because of who they were speaking to. Because Theo would know that Calroy had been in charge of organizing the escort and communicating with the Emperor's contingent for additional escort, and Calroy would know the exact time and place they would be at an ambush point. Because Calroy had his own loyalists escort the Dairy Islanders in without raising suspicion.
We get all of three minutes in, and Brennan maneuvered the players to those points without raising any particular suspicion about his intentions.
Brilliant.

BFCD Masterlist: Black Female Book Characters
Followers of BFCD may know that I don't read very many books that are not about Black women or Black girls and most of them are written by Black women, and sometimes Black men, others quite infrequently. In Black books, there are generally multiple Black characters, as we aren't generally tokens in our own communities and stories.
But, the list also includes some characters of nonblack books, whether or not I have read them, and those are usually tokenized characters. For the ones that are not, I have decided to place the main character as the alphabetized character and other characters that are represented in those books on this blog will be in the same section of the main character's name.
For example, all Legacy of Orisha Characters with BFCD links will be listed under Zélie Adebola's name on this masterlist.

Agatha of Woods Beyond: The School for Good and Evil, Professor Dovey (Not Black in the books, but because of the movie, much of the fanart now is)
Akasha: The Vampire Chronicles (The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned) Merrick Mayfair
Alice Kingston: The Nightmare Verse (A Blade So Black, A Dream So Dark, A Crown So Cursed)
Amari Peters: Supernatural Investigations (Amari and the Night Brothers, Amari and the Great Game, Amari and the Despicable Wonders)
Amarie "Amma" Treadeau: Beautiful Creatures *I did not read this, but Viola Davis was the character in the movie and I have never known anybody but a Black femme/woman to be an Amarie, so she staying on the book list, as well.
Angelina Weasley: (Harry Potter Series) Now... This is a difficult subject. I was one of the Potterhead from my college years into after my brain fully developed. I did see all the movies in theaters and the last thing I enjoyed was The Cursed Child on Broadway. ONLY TIME I have ever seen something on Broadway... i think the last thing I saw was the first of the Fantastic Beasts movies, and shortly after that, I think was when I first found out about the TERF. For the most part, I hardly feature Potterverse things here, as it makes me upset to see the universe continuing. BUT, this page with book characters felt like I should go head and include it for this particular list. Hermione Granger, Rose Granger Weasley, Lavender Brown, Roxanne Weasely, Lally Hicks
Anne Elliot: Jane Austen... Idk Jane Austen books. I think I tried to read one or two and promptly realized they weren't for me, so if this section is messed up, I think you'll pull through. The characters probably weren't even canonically Black, so idk what to tell you. Sometimes I see aesthetics and reblog them.
Ardelia Mapp: Silence of the Lambs
Arrah N'yar: Kingdom of Souls (Kingdom of Souls, Reaper of Souls, Master of Souls) Efiya, Essnai
Autumn Knight: Pinned
Beloved: (Beloved) Sethe, Denver
Binti Ekeopara Zuzu Dambu Kaipka of Namib: Binti Trilogy (Binti, Binti: Home, Binti: The Night Masquerade)
Bree Matthews: The Legendborn Cycle
Briseis Greene: This Poison Heart (This Poison Heart, This Wicked Fate)
The Brown Sisters: (Talia Hibbert..So, I haven't read any of these either, though I do run into aesthetics from time to time. From my perceptions, they seem to be swirler romance fiction of some sort. Not necessarily my genre, but including them because they do wind up on the page at times.) Dani Brown, Eve Brown
Camellia Beauregard: The Belles
Carmel Schneider: Nine Perfect Strangers. Idk if she's in the book because I only watched the series and I didn't care enough for the series to go read the book, but here she is, if she is in there.
Celie: The Color Purple Shug Avery, Sophia, Squeak. The Color Purple has various adaptations and interpretations. Originally a book, it belongs on the book list, however, most Tumblr content for the work come from the movies and the play.
Christina: Divergent Series
Coco Monvoisin: Serpent & Dove
Cresseida: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Daja Kisubo Circle of Magic (Daja's Book)
Eadaz du Zāla uq-Nāra: The Priory of the Orange Tree
Farah Hauville: Wayhaven Chronicles
God: The Shack
Greta Goblin: The Tea Dragon Society
Hazel Levesque: Heroes of Olympus
Jordan Hennessy: The Dreamer Trilogy (Call Down the Hawk, Mister Impossible, Greywaren) Hennessy, Jordan, June, Madox, Farrah, Alba, Brooklyn, Jay, Octavia, Trinity
Jam: Pet
Jane McKeene: (Dread Nation, Deathless Divide) Katherine Deveraux, Big Sue, Lily Keats, Ida, Callie, Auntie Aggie, Jane Mama
Juniper Andromeda: Crescent City
Imabelle:
Karina: (A Song of Wraiths and Ruin) Bahia Alahari
Keisha Taylor: Alice Isn't Dead
Lady Death: The Hanged Man
Lady Fire: Graceling
Lucy Pevensie: The Chronicles of Narnia
Maia Roberts: The Mortal Instruments, The Shadowhunters Chronicles
Meg Murray: A Wrinkle in Time (One day, I absolutely will separate books & movies)
Melanie: The Girl with All the Gifts
Merrick Mayfair: The Vampire Chronicles, The Mayfair Witches, Merrick
Missandei: Game of Thrones (There are multiple books. I am not a reader of them) Nettles, Daenerys Targaryen, Laena Velaryon, Baela Targaryen, Rhaena Targaryen
Nasuada: Eragon
Natasha Kingsley (The Sun is Also a Star)
Nehemia Ytger: Throne of Glass (There are multiple books. I am not a reader of them)
Onyesonwu Ubaid-Ogundimu: Who Fears Death
Rae Sloane: (Star Wars) Korr Sella, Ciena Ree
Red Riding Hood:
Rue: The Hunger Games
Rue Jelani Akintola: Wings of Ebony
Serwa Boateng: Serwa Boateng's Guide to Vampire Hunting
Sierra Santiago: The Shadowshaper Cypher (Shadowshaper, Shadowhouse Fall, Shadowshaper Legacy) Trejean "Tee," Izzy
Simidele: Of Mermaids and Orisa (Skin of the Sea, Soul of the Deep)
Simmaa Aldajah: The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats & Piracy
Sophia Grimmins: (Cinderella is Dead) Constance, Cinderella (Until further notice, the all Cinderellas tag will be used for the CID Cinderella tag. Hopefully, I can attach a specific CID Cinderella in the future), Erin, Liv, Amina
Starr Carter: The Hate U Give

I decided to change Pyramid Steve's design for the au, cuz I felt like the first bird wasn't really doing it...instead he's a purple starling :>
He has two color variations (totally cuz I couldn't choose). His main one is the yellow variant, and the blue/purple variant is kind of like the second form. The second variant come out when he's either very angry (like Bills red form) or is hypnotizing someone. His feather also become swirler in his second form.
Steves eye and the skin around will constrict and swirl when he's hypnotizing others (kind of think of the snake from the jungle book with his eyes and how he hypnotizes people)

Ok you suddenly have the power to pull any character from any story you’ve written, from any point in their lives, into your room and talk to them for five minutes about anything: who would you talk to and what would you talk about/say to them?
Would genuinely love to pull Peter Martellis aside in the months leading up to him joining the Officer's Academy and find out why he wanted to join. What was his childhood like, what really drove that decision to not just join but to go to the Officer's Academy for entry. What was he hoping would come from it, where was he hoping it would go?
Would also like to pull Lionus out of the narrative at... literally any point of his life but probably right around when he first made it into the Eastern Coastal Watch to ask him about [REDACTED] and how that affected him/lead to him being who/where he is right now. (it also doesn't hurt that in my mind that man has a very beautiful irish-leaning accent and if nothing else I'd hand him a phonebook and just have him read it to me for 5 minutes)
Thank you SO MUCH for the ask, this was a real brain-swirler for me!

Marissa Meyer fucked up their ship so bad that she had go back and give us a prequel story in the Stars Above like 😭
BUT YES Mr. Jacin “I only serve MY Princess” Clay in Cress was hilarious & Jacinter was robbed of their relationship-centric book that the three other couples got 😭 #JusticeforJacinter #JacinterRights !!!
Jacinter is my favorite lunar chronicles ship because it has everything. Princess/guard. Childhood friends to lovers. Hurt/comfort (mostly.) “i hate everyone except you.” Grumpy/sunshine. Need I go on
#the lunar chronicles#jacinter#that swirler couple deserved more. they really did#kamala harris and her white husband </3#thats them down to the political ambassador part#I lied Jacinter is everything and I'm writing these tags at 3 am#but Marissa Meyer was so brave for giving us this couple in 2016 THAT was a different time FOR SURE

i have so much gooeybear smut in my drafts (most of it not good, which is why it stays in the drafts), but it's been really fun pushing myself to write less explicit stuff. Theo & Gooey's relationship has its roots in their sexual chemistry that it's always there, but i've enjoyed seeing what little stories exist for them when they aren't being nasty. this one just has a couple kisses in it! and Gooey putting her hand up Theo's shirt, but that's just par for the course. Rated T for Teen, like two teens kissing at the top of the Ferris wheel
