What was your opinion on Morgana’s thought process during 2x12? I think she chose not to confess to Arthur & Merlin about her meeting with Morgause because she believed it wouldn’t have changed anything - she didn’t have any knowledge of Merlin’s magic then, how could a servant & a mortal prince defeat a group of immortal knights? Plus she would’ve had to admit that she met with Morgause to eradicate Uther, which would’ve angered Arthur in an already stressful situation.
This is Fires of Idirsholas, right? First I'm gonna put here the parts where Morgana is okay?
MORGANA I wear it all the time. I can't remember when I last had a bad dream.
MORGAUSE But you do not seem happy. Why is that?
MORGANA I would be if I didn't have to pretend.
MORGAUSE Pretend?
MORGANA That I'm Uther's loving ward when I hate him.
MORGAUSE Have you ever imagined a new world, Morgana? One where Uther was no more?
MORGANA Sometimes.
MORGAUSE And is that what you'd like?
MORGANA I once had the chance to be his assassin.
MORGAUSE And what stopped you?
MORGANA I don't know. I believe he cared for me. But not anymore. He cares for no one.
MORGAUSE So, you want Uther destroyed and his reign to end?
MORGANA More than anything. But it doesn't matter what I want. The future's not of my making.
MORGAUSE You are wrong, Morgana. You underestimate your importance. The decisions you make now will change the shape of everything that is to come.
MORGANA What do you mean?
MORGAUSE Whose side are you on, Morgana? Are you with Uther? Or are you with me? Are you prepared to help me bring about his downfall?
MORGANA I am.
MORGAUSE I can't tell me how much it means to hear you say that.
[Morgause's eyes glow and Morgana passes out in Morgause's arms. Morgause lays her on the ground and begins to draw a circle around Morgana with a stick.]
MORGAUSE Acene slæp swilce ... Acene slæp swilce ... Acene slæp swilce ...
[Morgana begins to glow.]
.....
MERLIN Don't worry, I won't say anything.
MORGANA About what?
MERLIN The illness.
MORGANA That has nothing to do with me.
MERLIN No, of course not, but you have magic.
MORGANA You haven't told anyone that!
MERLIN No, and I won't tell Arthur, but...there must be something keeping you safe, and I think that must be it.
MORGANA Right.
ARTHUR Who could have done this? You're the only one who's not been affected, Morgana. There must be a reason.
[MORGANA LOOKS AT MERLIN FOR HELP]
MORGANA I don't know.
ARTHUR That's all you keep saying! You must know something!
MORGANA No, they just fell asleep one by one!
MERLIN It's obvious. When she started feeling sick, Gaius gave her a potion, right?
[MORGANA LOOKS CONFUSED]
ARTHUR When was she sick? She never said that.
MERLIN She was one of the last to be affected. Somehow the potion must have helped.
ARTHUR What about everyone else? [MERLIN STRUGGLES TO ANSWER AS MORGANA LOOKS ON IN DESPERATION AND ARTHUR WAITS FOR A RESPONSE]
MERLIN By then Gaius was too ill. He didn't have a chance to treat anyone else.
......
[INT. KING’S PALACE, ARTHUR’S CHAMBERS – DAY] [Merlin enters.]
MORGANA I was worried about you.
MERLIN They're here! They're in the castle!
MORGANA Where's Arthur?
MERLIN Gone to find somewhere safe to move to.
MORGANA Thank you for not saying anything to him.
MERLIN It's all right.
MORGANA You're a good friend.
.........
ARTHUR We have to move my father before Morgause gets here.
MORGANA Morgause!
ARTHUR Come on! Let's go!
MERLIN You're not surprised?
MORGANA No, I am.
..........
MERLIN It doesn't matter. We can't get it now anyway, we're trapped.
ARTHUR There has to be something we can do!
MERLIN (whisper) Why didn't that knight kill you?
MORGANA How do I know? Because I'm a woman?
MERLIN Yeah, maybe.
............... [Arthur draws his sword and jumps out into the corridor. Merlin re-bars the door.]
MORGANA He's not going to survive out there.
MERLIN I know.
MORGANA We've got to do something.
MERLIN I know.
What was your opinion on Morgana’s thought process during 2x12
"why didn't she just tell merlin and arthur that she met with morgause"
"Plus she would’ve had to admit that she met with Morgause to eradicate Uther, which would’ve angered Arthur in an already stressful situation."
this is why this episode is so hard to analyse from a Morgana POV. There's a lot of evidence (based on body language/acting/circumstance) which suggest that
she had no idea at first
she had growing suspicion that she was the source
morgause had something to do with it
she didnt mind that morgause was coming anyway
she understood that whatever was happening was going to be uther's downfall
"why didn't she just tell merlin and arthur that she met with morgause / "Plus she would’ve had to admit that she met with Morgause to eradicate Uther, which would’ve angered Arthur in an already stressful situation."
I agree.
THEN WHY DID SHE DO WHAT SHE DID?
For me I think she was desperate enough to see what would happens. Beyond her fear of the knights and her fear of seeing everybody falling around her, she had trust that Merlin and Morgause would find a way to fix things.
She may have believed, that as long as Morgause, Merlin and Arthur were with her even as Uther and Camelot falls to sickness and ruin for the sake of the "new world" that Morgause promised, everything would be alright
So she's gonna withhold information on morgause and she would always ask about merlin's health and safety.
It was just a powerful sleeping sickness (i apologize to everyone who kept explaining this to me before). Maybe Morgana just wanted to see what was going to happen.
Was it selfish? self-absorbed? yes. Done out of revenge? also yes. Done out of love for sister, self and friend? also yes.
Evil? depends on who you ask.
All in all these are merely speculation. We do not have true Morgana POV. I cannot judge her fairly if I'm just going by headcanon and guesses. We have no real idea what was going on in her mind. I may be wrong about this too. but we are already 11 years too late lol. There is no correct answer to this.

[Indistinct chatter]
Arya: You okay? Salem: Yeah, I'm just tired... [yawns] Kathryn: Another nightmare? Salem: Surprisingly not. It's those bloody crickets, I swear. Forgot how loud those fuckers are. Malaya: I have some spare ear plugs if you want a pair? Salem: Please!
Braeden: Anyone down for a film night later? Johnny: Got a film in mind? Braeden: Not yet. Just wanna see how that projector thing works. Casper: I'm down. Kathryn: Me too. Arya: Can we watch some horror films? Kylo: Can do. Caleb: If the horror films you're thinking of are good, then sure.
[Alternative music playing]
Kylo, casting a spell: Hoppaþ nu swilce swá lieg fleogan. [Dance now just as flames with wings.] Johnny, impressed: Woah. That's so... cool.
Kathryn: You know, now would be the perfect time for story telling. Caleb: Who wants to go first? Chris: I think Kylo should.Kylo: Why me? Chris: You always have a story to tell! Kylo: Okay, fine... So there was this group of students who were going on a school trip. They were travelling by the school bus, passing through a small village. It was night, and the bus was fairly quiet, with more than half of the class alseep. The driver continues driving, choosing not to stop for a small break, as he wanted to pass through this village. One student looks out of the window to her right, curious to see what was out there. Kylo: She spots a group of people dressed in all black gathering outside of the Church. Arya: This can't be good... Kylo: She asks the teacher what they're doing. All of a sudden, the bus breaks down. The driver can't get the engine to start. They're stuck. At this point, the class is alert and are all confused as to what's going on. Kylo: After taking another look outside the window, the student sees a member of the group looking in her direction. The bus driver then instructs everybody to close the small curtains and get down. "Stay low. Don't make any sudden movements, and do not make any noise," he said. Everybody listens, lowering themselves on to the floor. Lights started flashing in their direction, as if somebody was trying to see into the bus. The lights would flicker on, and then off again. All of a sudden, it stopped. It was quiet, Too quiet. Moments pass and the student sat up slightly, going against the previous instructions and peered through the gap between the curtains and the window to her left. That's when she saw it. Dead bodies hanging from the tree. Then the other students noticed, and it all goes downhill from there... Braeden: Jeez... Kylo: The group started freaking out, and the teacher was desparately trying to calm her class down. But it was too late. Because noises were then heard from outside, nails scratching against the surface, followed by banging. The people were outside, coming to get them. ** Caleb: How do you manage to come up with these stories, Ky? Kylo: Imagination? Caleb: [Sighs] I love you. Kylo: I love you too.
** So this story is actually a dream I had a few years back, it was very creepy. Please bear in mind I did type all of this up at night, whilst I was very sleepy. So I apologise if the story isn't written well - which in that case just pretend that Kylo is an amazing storyteller, because he's supposed to be...

for my final project for my history of the english language class i translated the poem from the book Fire Bringer into old english, and then wrote it out in insular miniscule since it’s set in vaguely 13th century british isles.
[ID: image of black handwritten text on a white background, 8 verses split into two columns of 4 verses each, separated by a vine. the verses on the left hand are separated by little sketches of an antler, an oak leaf, and an arrow; the ones on the right hand by a piece of grass, a feather, and a skull. “fyr bringere” is written across the top, bracketed by antlers.] /end ID
full transcript of original modern english & my translation below the cut
here’s the full original and old english, im sure i made lots of grammar errors as this was mostly for fun (taking the class pass-fail), and i didn’t attempt a proper meter. the main thing i tried my best to get was some alliteration in every line, there are a few without but i mostly managed that!

hearts of camelot. chapter eight: merlin. ffnet link. my ffnet username: sansajonquil. merlin.
---
Merlin could never have let Freya be trapped in the cage, in the hands of her ruthless captor Halig. He didn’t regret making his choice to free her; he sensed she was a good person straight away when he saw her for the first time.
Hoppaþ nu swilce swá lieg fleogan. Back in the caves, Merlin whispered the incantation in a hushed gentle tone, concentrating hard on the three candles on the dirt ground, next to Freya. He conjured the flames to lift up out of the candles, balancing them around in the air. It looked like they were nearly dancing. He loved seeing the delight in Freya’s deep browneyes, and he cherished seeing her happy most of all.
‘”B…beautiful.”
Merlin couldn’t describe the overwhelming emotion he felt at Freya’s words , his magic being described as something positive, not something that happened very often. Usually, magic in general was described as dark and evil most of the time, and hearing magic being revered made him happier than he could describe. He wished Arthur would see it that way one day, as Merlin did also use magic to save him countless times from danger. He would always treasure his friends and people who accepted him especially his mother, Gaius, Arthur, Lancelot, Gwen, Morgana and now Freya.
He also loved seeing Freya’s eyes entranced by the flames and her smiling for the first time. He couldn’t help smiling back, he loved helping people and seeing Freya not be scared of him any longer. There’s something special about this druid girl, and I see how kindhearted she truly is.
I want to help her as much as I can, for her to truly believe me when I say that her magic isn’t something to be frightened of, but to be accepted.
I need to give her more food next time…maybe from Arthur again. Merlin seriously considered this plan.
I want to know more about her, and her story. He sensed Freya was like him, a kindred spirit who deserved to be loved.
And most of all, you deserve everything you would ever wish for, Freya.

So. Here we are, blank Tumblr, ready for content. It's been over a year of blankness while I just stalked other accounts and enjoyed their content (thanks, y'all).
But yesterday my IRL bestie (hi swilc!) mentioned that her friend is doing a gratitude challenge for November - one thing every day that she's grateful for. And I thought, that sounds like something I could do with my Tumblr.
I'm not sure if it will be all gratitude all the time, or more like documenting a different challenge each month (because attention span). Either way, here's me screaming into the void:
Today I am grateful for
Fandom
I'm not a content creator, just an avid consumer, but fandom has broadened my horizons considerably in many different aspects of my life, and taught me so many things. I've learned more about the Marvel comics than my hubs ever thought I would (and way more than he knows) and I adore following the metas and the headcanons that dig so deeply into every tiny part of every thing. I've wandered into several different fandoms, crossed over and returned and branched out, and always found something to enjoy and something to save and something to come back to again and again. I've found a lot of new things that I enjoy thanks to fandom, which I would otherwise never have thought to try. I've also noped out of a few things, which always teaches me something valuable about myself.
So a huge thank you to the creators, whether you make gifs, photomanips, fic, meta, keychains, amazing art, stick figure comics, or whatever - you have brought me immeasurable amounts of joy just by doing what you love.
