The lore brainstorming I have so far is:

schlatt dies after reclaiming manberg from wilbur, asking techno to kill him, tubbo is left to resent the innocent ghost of his dad

wilbur takes over manberg and asks Phil to make an example of Fundy for snitching, phil complies out of fear for what his son would do, fundy grows up resenting his father and the memory of his old life and marries Dream and they raise Yogurt together

ponk loses his eye to ranboo after being locked in his own penitentiary, mimicking his friend Purpled who lost the same eye to Philza

ponk cuts off and eats sam’s arm, the circumstances are slightly different, but still essentially a keycard fight where Sam dies and then gets spawn trapped

sam builds himself a prosthetic arm and inhales/consumes way too much redstone, especially after the wound on his arm reopens and he gets more redstone in the wound removing the prosthetic. The redstone in his blood drives him crazy

lotus penitentiary gets infested with egg and ponk lets it drive him crazy and hurts the people around him to keep ranboo in prison

Throughback Thursday aka I go over my mains during the dsmp

Many of my followers might not know this but i have swapped through multiple "mains". I still wouldn't say I have a dsmp "main", because I've always had phases and even when I did, I've always tried to follow people who "mained" characters I didn't follow as much so I knew what was up. My original "main" was actually C! Fundy. I fucking adored him. I was a big C! Fundywastaken shipper and if you look through my fundywastaken tag you can see the whole ass wedding canonicity saga. I loved C! Fundy so much from late season 1 (when I joined the fandom) (aka before November 16th) to early season 2 (aka post November 16th) and I was really hoping he'd get to be in a spot light for a bit with Ghostbur. I also really likes C! Niki and C! Bad around this time.

After that, I orbited C! Tubbo a lot (although I've always kept up with C! Clingy to some degree) as well C! Ranboo, C! Eret and C! Puffy (IM STILL MAD ABOUT CC! PUFFY RETCONING HER CHARACTER BEING A MOM BECAUSE THE FANDOM FORCED HER INTO THE STEREOTYPICAL MOM ROLE. i really likes c! Puffy as a mom because even though she was a maternal figure. She had such wine aunt energy and felt like such a fleshed out person to me) (also got really into c! Puffychu for a bit)

And then exile happened and C! Tommy maining began (<- FUN FACT I USED TO FUCKING **HATE** C! WILBUR 😭 I thought he was pretty abusive during Pogtopia and I still do think that C! Tommy scape goated C! Techno a bit because he didn't wanna acknowledge how badly Wilbur missed him up <- that being said even though i didnt like c! Wilbur. I was still always of the opinion, he had the potential to get better and i always felt like he'd come back later eventually).

After exile, I became a pretty big C! Techno main and (c! Emerald enjoyer) even if I didn't always agree with what he was doing (<- tbf I've always watched C! Techno, probably helped he didn't stream as much as the others). Around this time and after Doomsday, I got pretty into C! Sam and Ponk as well. And post C! Tommy dying and lore slowing down, I got really into C! Quackity (although I've always been attached to him because a close friend of mine at the time basically mained him). And then the C! Wilbur revival happened and I started getting more into him and I think he was my last proper "main" before the lore dropped off and the CC! Dream stuff started coming out

Overall all the dsmp characters hold a special space in my heart because I was pretty into almost all of then at some point (I didn't mention this because I don't consider this long enough to be a phase but I did have a week or two where I fixated a lot on C! George and C! Hannah). And idk, all of them hold a place in my heart and I also think half of them suck ass as people but I think that's the appeal for me

second half of the art! Karl and Sam probably were the most directly influenced out of all of them; I really liked them being a duo + having a personality swap. Cat (aloof, clever) and dog (excitable, kinda dumb) dynamics are GREAT. Love love love that, almost as much as I love snarky frenemy type deals.

If you're wondering, btw, Vio is wholly my own creation. Ponk and Purpled really didn't have anything to them when I blacked out and woke up to Vio Suddenly Existing. I think there must have been a gas leak or somethin'...

I took my Skeppy (Quizzy) in a very different direction. I'm still kinda getting a feel for him through music tho.

Hermit DSMP Swap AU: Part 12.8

Foolish stared at the others, holding his breath and listening to Doc move around in the room above. His whole body ached and throbed as the adrenalin wore off and his injuries began to make themselves known. 

Ponk looked back at him “You look like shit.” He hissed.

Punz handed him a golden apple without a word before squeezing past them to the front of the group.

Foolish nodded and muttered a thanks as he bit into the apple. He felt the warm tingle soak into his bloodstream and the worst of the damage healed. He could feel the pain numbing, it was only temporary he knew. He would be really sore later. 

He felt Schlatt give him a little shove from behind. “Fucking useless.” Schlatt muttered.

Foolish bristled but hurried after Ponk and Punz. It was several minutes later that they came out of the tunnel into the open. Foolish hurried his pace to catch up with Punz. 

“So what now?” he asked. 

Punz glanced at him “I’m going to need to talk to Schlatt to see if he has any useful information. But as far as you're concerned, as soon as we get back, you need to tend to your injuries.”

Foolish huffed in frustration but nodded in agreement. He knew he needed to heal up before he could be useful again. He might be a god but that didn’t make him invincible. Punz would keep him informed. In the meantime he could take care of Genesis. He felt bad for having to leave her alone like this. When this was all over he would take his entire family to some seaside beach location far away from the DSMP and they could build a new life together.

Doc growled as he exited the house, Gem flinched as he yanked what was left of his prosthetic arm free “Der gone.” He hissed. 

“Are- are you ok, maybe you should sit down,” Gem stammered. 

Doc turned to her, his scowl melting away when he saw the look of concern on her face. He sighed and tucked his badly mangled prosthetic under his good arm rubbing his hand down his face. “I’m fine… it’s mostly just d’ arm,” He sighed. “It’s going to be a pain to fix but I’ll manage,” 

“What happened?” Impulse asked as he came out of his house. Gem spun around to see him. He looked fine.

“Impulse! Are you ok?” She said going over to meet him.

“Yeah,” he grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head, “I just respawned. I’m ok, that caught me by surprise. I didn’t expect them to have help. 

“Where’s Scar, and Bdubs? I hope they're ok.” Gem said, looking around.

“I’m fine! I’m fine,” Scar called as he jogged over from his house, only slightly out of breath. “Oh boy, that felt strange,” he laughed, slowing down as he reached the group. 

“You sure you're feeling ok?” Gem insisted. 

Skar nodded “Oh, definitely,” He giggled “It tickled for sure but I'm perfectly fine now, and that’s a Scar promise.” 

“I-I should be heading back- you know, Bdubs- make sure he’s ok,” Keralis stammered. 

“Oh, of course,” Gem said “Go on now, don’t worry about us… are you ok though? You took a couple of hits back there.” 

Keralis nodded and smiled, “Don’t worry about me sweetcheeks.” He patted Gem on the arm before turning and heading off at a jog in the direction of the Big Eye base where Bdubs should have respawned. 

Gem watched him go.

“What now?” Impulse asked, looking around at the others. 

“Where’s Grian?” Scar started.

“He went through a portal yelling something about lightning,” Impulse said.

Scar frowned his brow furrowing with concern. “And he hasn’t come back through? I’m going over to X’s house to see if he’s there,” Scar said, without waiting for an answer he started jogging down the path towards the tunnel through the mountain to X’s base. 

“I’m sure he’s fine,” Impulse muttered. Gem got the feeling he was saying it more to convince himself than anyone else. 

Gem clapped her hands and put on a reassuring smile “Why don’t we all go inside, I can make some more tea to calm our nerves and we can do something about that arm there,” She said nodding at where Docs prosthetic used to attach to his arms, lose wires and sharp edges were all that was left attached to the shoulder plate. 

She didn’t give them time to argue, instead leading them all back inside Impulse's house. It would take a minute to clean up the mess… She brushed back some loose strands of hair that had fallen out of her braid, flower petals falling to the ground through her fingers. This really was a big mess they had gotten themselves into.

Grian stumbled through his portal into X’s house, almost knocking Scar over as he did so. The other man caught him steddying him. He looked up at Scar, his heart racing, his eyes locked in a purple haze and his head throbbing. “I can’t-” He gasped, clutching desperately to Scars arms. 

X stood up from where he sat on the bed, “I got it,” He said, his eyes glazing over and going still as his mind went into the admin space.  

“Hey, it’s ok,” Scar soothed. Grian’s grip loosened and his breathing evened but his eyes were still purple. “It’s ok,” Scar assured.

“But it’s not,” Grian sobbed. “The server is dying and there isn’t anything we can do to stop it.”

Joe stood up from the couch and placed a gentle hand on Grian’s shoulder “Why don’t you sit down friend,” He said, guiding him back to the couch “X will take care of this. Scar why don’t you get something to drink out of the cabinet.”

“Like tea or spirits?” Scar asked, moving over to the cabinet.

“Spirits,” Grian interrupted.

Joe chuckled “I ment tea but that works I guess, I don’t know if X has any though.”

Scar grinned and turned around pulling a small cantine out from the inner pocket of his jacket. “Don’t worry, I’ve got just the thing,” He said tossing the canteen to Joe, who opened it and gave it a whiff. 

“Why do you have this?” Grian asked, “Not that I'm complaining.” The purple had started to fade from his eyes as he took the bottle from Joe and took a swig.

“You know,” Scar shrugged, turning back to the cabinets and starting to rummage through them for anything else of use, “For the aesthetic.”

“I-I should be getting back,” Grain said standing.

“Oh no you don’t,” Joe said, pushing him back down. “You’re way over worked, you need to rest. I don’t know exactly how all this Watcher stuff works but you, sir, are a mess and everyone and their grandmother's uncle can see it.”

“Yes, my grandmother's uncle is very concerned about your health,” Scar giggled. 

“You don’t even have a grandmother, or an uncle,” Grian scoffed.

“How do you know?” Scar said waggling his eyebrows.

Grian sighed and rubbed his eyes. “Alright, fine. I’ll rest for a minute. But after that I really do need to go help X. He’s in there all by himself.” 

“Couldn’t you just make a portal and send one of us through?” Joe suggested.

Grian shook his head “You would just die in the void. Only Watchers and… Developers, can survive the void. Besides, you wouldn’t be able to do anything without a deep understanding of magic, even if you could survive,” Grian said, taking another swig from the bottle before capping it. It probably wasn’t the best idea to drink too much before having to fly in the void.  

“Oh you wound me my friend,” Joe dramatized, pressing a shocked hand to his chest. “I pulled Cleo out of Limbo. I think I’d figure somethin’ out,”  

Grian shrugged “Doesn't matter. I need to head back now,” He said, handing Joe the canteen. The purple had only just fully faded from his eyes, to return in full force. He cut a rift through the air, flared his wings and flew through into the cold void beyond. X needed his help.

I have a whole bunch more written for this too and I am very excited to share it with you all. Some of the sub plots are about to reach their climax and things are about to go down. I got bored last night and realized I’d never seen a Swap AU for the Dream SMP so I decided to think one up. Just cause I was bored. Some of these swaps were way more obvious than others and some I’m still not sure about so I’d love to hear suggestions.

Character swaps below-

Dream - George: Let’s get some of the obvious out of the way, DreamNotFound is too easy of a swap. Most characters switch their attire around to match their swap persona but Dream and George keep their mask and goggles respectively. Naturally it’s now called the George SMP and the infamous Dream smily face is replaced with George’s goggles.

Tommy - Tubbo: Maybe even more obvious, the Clingy Duo gets swapped. Not too much of a change, just two feral boys being their feral selves except now Tubbo’s the more bold one wearing a white shirt with green sleeves and Tommy’s his bestfriend wearing a red, button up shirt.

Bad - Skeppy: I almost swapped Bad with Ant just because of the Eggpire but then I realized that was stupid and Skeppy was standing right there.

Wilbur - Schlatt: The season 1 villains get swapped with each other, fitting with how often they were brought up together in season two. Schlatt is now the founder and 1st president of Manberg and when Wilbur takes over he changes it to L’Manberg to make it sound more Eurpeon.

Technoblade - Philza: These best buds of course get swapped, when Wilbur takes over Manberg Tubbo calls his old friend, Phil, to come help deal with his son. And Technoblade has some sort of new, past bond with Schlatt to make his arrival still impactful. And instead of an Anarchist fueled rage, Phil is driven to vengeance after Wilbur dies, believing the war caused his heart attack.

Niki - Jack Manifold: I had SO much trouble figuring out who to swap Niki with because she just had too many canidates! In the end I swapped her with Jack simply because I couldn’t think of anyone better to swap him with. I’d also add that Jack becomes close friends with Schlatt so that we can have that same mental breakdown Niki had when she saw Ghostbur but now with Jack and Glatt.

Sapnap - Quackity: I’m a little unsure about some of these next ones, I figured two of the more prominent figures in the El Rapids arc should be swapped, plus they’re still fiances.

Sam - Ponk: Recently found out AweSamPonk was a thing, plus I’ve seen Ponk and Sam in a weird game of cat and mouse for a while now so I figure this swap would work.

Punz - Purpled: I’ll be honest, I really don’t know much about these two aside from they’re both hired guns and people headcanon them as brothers, so swap it is.

Fundy - Ranboo: They might not interact much anymore but these guys had a thing going on for a while. I’m keeping relationships the same so I figure the platonic marraige of Tubbo and Ranboo just happens faster in Manberg. Plus Fundy joining right after Manberg vs Pogtopia works as a way for him to come and mourn his father who had just died of a heart attack.

Eret - Foolish: Okay I only came up with this one after all the lore that Foolish apparently knew Eret years ago. Two possibly immortal gods with a knack for building switch places.

Puffy - HBomb: Once I ruled out the Puffychu swap HBomb was sorta all I had left. But it fits! The Knights of Eret swap places, now the Knights of Foolish, plus they’ve both dressed up as maids.

Karl - Connor: I very unfortunately haven’t had time to catch up on Tales but from what I understand Connor’s been playing a role in it so I thought swapping him and Karl would work.

Alyssa - Callahan: Natural fit. Need I say more.

Vikkstar - Lazarbeam: Kinda forgot they were in the SMP but since they’re on the wiki I’ve included them.

Ant - Hannah: I ran out of ideas. I had absolutely no idea where to put either of these two and I ran out of people to swap with so they get swapped out of necessity.

Slimecicle - Mexican Dream: This was just cause it was funny AND I needed a last spot for Charlie. Plus it kinda works, hardly lore relevent, funny, green men. Though hilariously Mexican Dream is becoming much more lore relevent.

Then, there's a panel of Dream cradling Tommy's corpse and Wilbur's reply of "some people have more cards up their sleeves than they let on". There's another panel, this time a close-up of Dream's mask and Tommy's beaten face. Wilbur carries on below, with "the game asks you to swap out one card for the best combination". He says "so you can imagine how that fucks it" and "don't cheat, I'll be pissed" above an image of Ghostbur. It ends with Tommy saying "fine, I won't - just... just tell me the rules".

Then he says "rule... uh, that's it basically". Tommy replies: "the fuck? why bother telling me these stupid rules then?" There's a panel of him shuffling the deck of cards to the left and then he continues with "ironic, I know". After, he tells Tommy "anyway, it's a hand of shit" and then "you do it when you have no good options but if you have a table of only highs and you have an ace you can still win". This is accompanied by Tommy's discs and an image of him alone with a sword. Finally, Tommy asks "why an ace?"

Finally, there's an image of Phil, Ranboo and Techno walking in the snow with the line "but sometimes the third card can make".

Image five: The fifth page of a digital comic centered on Wilbur and Tommy in the afterlife. It's starts with three panels and the continuation of the line with "or break it". The first panel shows the turmoil Manberg had on Wilbur and Niki's friendship, Schlatt looming in the background. The second shows Sam and Ponk infront of the egg, eyeing each other - Ponk's eyes are red. The last one shows Dream above Tommy and Tubbo, as if a puppet master. Tommy tells Wilbur "that's stupid", replied to with "you're one to speak". After, Tommy tells Wilbur "mimimimimimi" who replies "anyway, stop interrupting and start listening". The explanation continues with "now: a flush" and "they all have the same suit; a common goal, but still kinda flimsy". There's three groups: Fundy, Ranboo, Tubbo and Quackity as the Butcher Army; Niki and Jack as Team Rocket and Tommy and Techno as the Bedrock Bois.

Image six: The sixth page of a digital comic centered on Wilbur and Tommy in the afterlife. It starts with "above that is a run: 3 cards that go in order". Wilbur explains "you can go pretty far with an ace, king and queen", accompanied by Tommy, Dream and Wilbur respectively. They're wearing their Pogtopia era clothes. Below, it says "but a better combo is a bounce" above the flag of L'manberg. The final line is "it's a flush and run combined". Underneath, are three panels. The first is Eret, the second is Wilbur and the third Techno. They are all submerged in an explosion, which covers the person more with each panel.

Image seven: The seventh page of a digital comic centered on Wilbur and Tommy in the afterlife. The starting line is "and finally, the highest combination: a prial (three of the same number)". Then, there's a conversation: Tommy begins with "I'm gonna get 3 aces every fuckin' time" and "big man shit, innit". Wilbur replies by laughing and saying "maybe you will". Next to this line there's a drawing of Tommy's hand, clenched, and three discs: Cat, Mellohi and Chirp. Below, there's four trios: Fundy, Tommy and Niki (wearing the L'manberg outfits but during the pet war); Wilbur, Tommy and Techno (Pogtopia era); Tommy, Mexican Dream and Girl Dream (during exile) and finally Tommy, Sam and Puffy (during the rescue from the Egg).

Image eight: The eighth page of a digital comic centered on Wilbur and Tommy in the afterlife. Wilbur continues with "maybe you'll get three kings". Next to this is Phil, Dream and Techno, from Doomsday. Underneath, Wilbur says "but the best prial is a prial of 3". This is accompanied by Badboyhalo, Antfrost and Punz - they're all possessed by the Egg. At the bottom, Tommy interjects "since fucking when??". Wilbur replies "dont act surprised! I mean, we play with three cards". At the bottom corner, he finishes with "so it makes sense".

Image nine: The ninth page of a digital comic centered on Wilbur and Tommy in the afterlife. Wilbur begins by asking Tommy "so: what do you think?" - Tommy says "sounds like shit". He continues "im not playing with you big dubs". He's biting at his nails and seems nervous. Wilbur's face goes blank and he replies "well tough Tommy". There's a drawing of Wilbur pulling three cards from the top of the deck. In the middle of the page, there's a big panel of Dream resurrecting Tommy, who seems very panicked. The final image shows Tommy holding three aces, one of which he's swapping out for an ace of hearts. Dream tells Tommy "you don't have a fucking choice".]
