hey this isn’t aimed at anyone in particular but I’m saying it for the record here: if I tell you no, please stop messaging me about fundraisers and mutual aid.

I get enough messages that it’s impossible for me to keep up without devoting at least half an hour each day, when I’m not even on tumblr that long most days. Me having a boundary about this isn’t a moral failing, it’s a lifeboat for me on my own blog.

In my personal life I’m already advocating and donating literally as much as I can spare. This is not me not caring, it’s just me not willing to interact with that on the one place I go online to not interact with irl news and world events for the most part.

I cannot be upset all the time. I cannot be upset everywhere. I cannot use all my emotional and mental energy fielding my own upset from ongoing events. My options are to hold boundaries about this or stop coming online at all.

I’m all for sharing information and signal boosting to reasonable extents, but the scale of it this year is so large and so enduring that it is literally not possible to for me to participate on every account I have. I’ve previously shared links to Gaza eSIM donations and a major hub of verified Go Fund Mes here and elsewhere online. We, the online humans, know how to look those things up ourselves by now. There are many, many people choosing to do advocacy work, and right now, I can’t be one of them.

If you’re extremely upset when I tell you I can’t share/donate right now about a Gaza family or personal fundraiser you ask me to share here, just unfollow and block me. That’s what those buttons are for. Protect your own emotions and energy and get me off your feed instead of staying upset and continuing to engage with online people or content that upsets you.

Please don’t send repeated angry messages based on manufactured purity politics and moral outrage into my messages and inbox when I exercise the right to run my own blog.

First things first...as of one month ago, I'm no longer an intern!

That's right - I'm now a resident (!) and with that comes more responsibility, but better pay and a better schedule.

What does that mean for Citadel? It means...more time to write! More content! (Case Three: Chapter Two is, in fact, 1/4th of the way complete!)

Thank you to everyone who's supported Citadel so far (and - by extension - supported me through my intern year). I'm so grateful that, through 80+ hour work weeks and 10-day-straight stretches and weeks of night shift again and again and again, you all have been here for me.

Something to fill in the chambers within, it wasn't anything new, but before, whenever A had an empty stomach, they could feel a hiccup arise, maybe even a case. An unintended induce. They would wonder why and how does it happen.

In their home, the day had just begun, A hasn't eaten a proper meal since yesterday. Reason was they couldn't find the time and they were not much of a cook, and it was late. All they wanted was to hit the sack, which they did...on an empty, vocal stomach.

That morning, they felt their empty stomach growling and grumbling in heavy intensity once more out of plea. Unexpectedly, they felt their body lurch, that tensing air in their chest had abrupted a case out.

It shocked them.

"HUP!–ooh..." Their chest lurched and tucked their head in deeply as another spasm rose. They instinctively brought a hand or two on their chest and stomach, feeling another spasm rock them forward.

"HUCK! Uh? H'MRK!Mmmrpf..." A softly groaned.

What a conflict. It was their body's way of saying to take the time and go visit the kitchen, grab something to eat, you bitch.

Their stomach is just looking out for them. At its own capabilities.

A felt their body spasmed over and over again. The sensation and situation felt enthralling for them in a way.

But they have to satisfy their hunger. They were at their limit.

"MMM!-Uh. Alright, alright. HNK! I hear you calm down...HUCK'LP! even though you won't abide." A reasoned to their stomach, their whole middle torso jostling in deep, heavy jerks.

They did prepare a small decent snack. A sandwich.

Whilst they ate a light sandwich and orange juice to wash it down easily, their case would be in slow, rhythmic patterns, yet they came out audibly deep. They were speeding up in pace as they ate. Perhaps it was the bread.

Their neck punched in every bite and swallow they took. They were conscious of timing when to swallow. Once they did, a single or a double arises.

"MMK! Hhh-hmk! Excu–cuse me–HRK!" They would lay a palm over their jumping tummy, the sensation was odd, yet endearing to the feels.

Once they had had their fill, settling down on their chair, they rubbed their paunch of a tummy as they rode their hiccup episode, a course that lasted for half an hour.

The bout perseveres. The way they massage their bouncing stomach with flat palms leaves them groaning, head back, eyes closed, and with their mouth agape. They jostled in their seat, enjoying the decent fill from their snack and the results.

Next time, A will make sure to tend to their hunger, with a case or not.

Man, I miss CR.

I'm very aware that Critrole is still there! But I'm so, so tired these days, with a full-time job where, even if I had the time to stay up until 1AM or later on a weekly basis, I sure the fuck don't have the energy, and let's not even talk about trying to catch up on Saturdays. And I'm so behind. And maybe it was those things or maybe it was just a story mismatch, because I love CR3's characters, but the central philosophical conflict of "are the gods even worth saving?" is just. So supremely uninteresting to me.

Like, that is not a question of morality. Are the gods terrible? Maybe! Probably! So? It's a question of sheer practicality!!! Revolutions are hellish, bloody things that, even when they're successful, more often than not turn into destabilized government, power vacuums, and decades of continued warfare. That doesn't mean they aren't worth having, sometimes, but trying to take down a ruling body without understanding exactly how the system works and how you intend to replace it is a recipe for catastrophe and/or the Reign of Terror. And that's when the government is in charge of the railways and the flow of commerce. You want to continue the moral implications of maybe not taking down a poorly-run revolution against the people who control the tides and make the sun come up? I really hope you have a plan for making sure the sun still comes up!!!

I know that's hardly the only theme of the season, but like. I did my Catholic grappling with the non-existent moral authority of god twenty years ago. I don't have four hours of energy a week left in me to watch it play out these days.

Long action scenes are the worst (to me) because they're the least interesting bit of a show but there also the bits you have to pay most attention to because there's no dialogue to help you understand what's happening if you look away at all but I get bored so I keep looking away and have to rewind it because I didn't see who went down and ugh.
