pretty random for my first piece of cc, but I've grown to really hate the natural lighting from windows when it comes to building — they make the lighting of my rooms go all funky a lot of the time, and do not get me started on the weird ass blue tint. soooo I removed the light source entirely from the windows I commonly use :) I'm sharing them so they're available to download since I use them in pretty much all of my builds now, and in case anyone else out there gets just as bothered by this as I do.

as I said, the light source has been completely removed from them, so these windows are essentially decorative — it'll be as though you're decorating a room with no windows at all. screenshots attached are unedited; I do have my reshade on in them, but that doesn't alter the difference between the two windows at all.

available as both non-default and default replacement, but the default replacement versions only have the light source removed (no texture/catalog update because idk how to do that yet hehe I kept breaking them).

i was looking for a picture from my ii show and ended up looking at pictures from 2020. i was so desperate for any dan content in august 2020 that i took this screenshot of dan and phil saving steve and obsessed over it for literal weeks because of the lack of dan content. thankful for the surplus of dan content in the last eight months

i saw a youtube comment today on a video essay about the batman (2022) and i just felt the need to screenshot and share some things on it:

i’ve had thoughts about this for a while.

i wrote in a draft a while ago about how i love the costume design in the batman because it made each character feel like real people and i decided i might as well share those thoughts now.

the costume design in the batman was one of the key elements that drove this film home for me. it made it so much more gripping, because it humanized these characters we’ve grown to see as just drawings on a page. these aren’t superheroes and supervillains. they don’t have powers, they don’t live in a fantasy world. they’re people who wear combat boots with their capes and cut holes out of their cat-eared ski masks and wrap cellophane under their army/navy-surplus store hoods. they’re just people with skills and agendas and trauma who are just trying to fight their way through life in whatever way they think is necessary and right.

they don’t rely on their suits as their strength.

and to touch on the point the commenter made in the first part, about how bruce wouldn’t be a “master of dual lives”: i think that’s a perfect way to sum up this character at this point in his life. he’s only been the batman for two years. and during these two years he’s been acting as vengeance. he still harbors a lot of anger in him and it’s been radiating through the batman. he hasn’t learned how to compartmentalize those two sides of himself, if he ever will.

we’ve seen a little bit of this in other batman movies and other media, but not to this extent, in my opinion; not so that it is defining him as a character in this significant of a way. it adds so much more complexity and depth to bruce wayne and it makes it so much more realistic and believable.

one thing i think shows this really well is how bruce and batman ride the same bike throughout the film. it’s not an expensive bike. it’s not specially made with gadgets and a bat symbol, we don’t see a new bike for batman until the very end of the film.

the batman is no longer vengeance, he’s hope. and hope doesn’t hide in the shadows. hope isn’t waiting to find a fight. hope is a beacon, not a warning.

the dark knight trilogy was a turning point for superhero movies. it showed that they didn’t have to be campy and comic book-y. it showed that they can be gritty and poignant and cinematic. the batman just took that thought and elevated it to an even higher level by making these characters feel like real people. by adding even more complexity, more richness, more gravity to these characters we all know and love. and in a market as over saturated as batman, this take on the story was like taking a sip of water when you wake up in the middle of the night at three am: refreshing as hell.

i don’t know, maybe i’m rambling and maybe this is kind of all over the place. but i just love the symbolism in this film and i literally cannot wait to see what more incredible and genius moves matt reeves and the rest of the cast and crew make in part two.

Apps You're Probably Going to Need

Too Good to Go: app that connects you to grocery stores and restaurants that will sell you surplus food at cheaper prices.

Signal: Messaging app that erases messages after an amount of time, and allows images to be viewable once.

Taimi: an ĻGBṬ dating app that doesn't allow screenshots of messages and profiles to be taken.

Bandcamp: a great website for music artists, podcasters, and audiobook creators. They pay artists more of the profits than Spotify, and have Fridays dedicated to giving artists all of the profits from sales.

Proton: app that offers privacy and encryption for emails, VPNs, and a lot more.

Community Garden: an app that helps make community garden development easier.

Vero: an Instagram alternative that doesn't use algorithms, data mining, or advertisements. An alternative to go to when Instagram worsens in the upcoming years.

Little Free Library: an app that locates little free libraries for you.

Evidation: it's a "health app" in which you collect points for activities like walking, but you can just complete their weekly and daily surveys. Basically, it's a beer-monęy app because you can only get $10 for 10,000 points, but if you have time to kill and need to earn extra cash in the upcoming eçonomic crash, evidation is an option.

Farmish: an app to help you locate your local farmer's market.

Boycat: an app that helps customers determine which brand is participating in unethical human rights violations and which isn't . It has recently partnered with the BDS movement!

Bluesky: You've already heard of it, right? It's an alternative to Twịtter, except it gives you the option to mass block MÅGÅ, genocide supporters, and the like. (My profile is itisiives, if you want to hang.)

Food Co-op Finder: As the name says, you can use this app to find your nearby food/grocery co-ops. Since co-ops mostly sell locally grown and made foods, this would be helpful in the looming deregulation of food safety.

Personally, I like to crop out other people and surplus environment. Or spoliers. But I can tag for spoilers and my taste isn't everybody's taste. 🤷‍♀️

My one request is, please, one image per submission. that makes the queueing up easier for me. 😅

Live Editing SEAWOLF - Chapter 2

So this is all new territory for the most part. There'll be some overlap with Chapter 2 from the original work, but what I'm "editing" now is essentially just rewriting.

The post-it notes are a thing I got into IRL going into this semester, because I like to color code my pen, highlighter, pencil, and post-its going to classes every day. Makes everything slightly more bearable. Any who, I basically have a surplus of lime green and classic sticky-notes that I can never use.

Ring doorbell comes from some people down the hall in my dorm. They have a ring doorbell mounted next to their door so they can see who's trying to get in without getting up and going to the peep hole. It's kinda genius.

Google searches 'what kinda shirts to bougie middle to upper middle class white men wear?' goes to images 'oh. button ups'.

Me trying not to make this too long but also living for this tension between Iceman and Theresa? Like bruh, this dude could be intimidating and this is perfect to bring that out. He's COMPACFLT for a damn reason.

To the Perry the Platypus theme song: Tension, tension, tension, trying to build tension, without being bulky. Tension!

Trying to keep dialogue distinct but also cohesive between these characters is... interesting.

God I hope the dialogue is cohesive and makes sense for the characters.

Putting my surplus of game screenshots to good use for this header💪💪

Now that the draft is finally complete I want to properly announce/show off something I’ve been working on! An incredibly self indulgent blend of Yugioh, Assassin’s Creed Origins, and general Egypt mythology. Follows the idea of Atem coming to power after Akhenamkhanen’s death and the incident revolving around Kul Elna with a twist!

The diabound orb is an ancient artifact with the power to create, destroy, and manipulate the course of history. As the last living descendant of the great Pharaoh Atem, the last owner of such an artifact, it falls to Yugi Mutou to follow the genetic memory of his ancestor to find the artifact and protect the present.

But what happens when delving into the past brings more questions than answers?

Why does tracing the Pharaoh’s memories land him in the body of the a man named Heba?
