pretty random for my first piece of cc, but I've grown to really hate the natural lighting from windows when it comes to building — they make the lighting of my rooms go all funky a lot of the time, and do not get me started on the weird ass blue tint. soooo I removed the light source entirely from the windows I commonly use :) I'm sharing them so they're available to download since I use them in pretty much all of my builds now, and in case anyone else out there gets just as bothered by this as I do.

as I said, the light source has been completely removed from them, so these windows are essentially decorative — it'll be as though you're decorating a room with no windows at all. screenshots attached are unedited; I do have my reshade on in them, but that doesn't alter the difference between the two windows at all.

Too Good to Go: app that connects you to grocery stores and restaurants that will sell you surplus food at cheaper prices.

i saw a youtube comment today on a video essay about the batman (2022) and i just felt the need to screenshot and share some things on it:

i’ve had thoughts about this for a while.

i wrote in a draft a while ago about how i love the costume design in the batman because it made each character feel like real people and i decided i might as well share those thoughts now.

the costume design in the batman was one of the key elements that drove this film home for me. it made it so much more gripping, because it humanized these characters we’ve grown to see as just drawings on a page. these aren’t superheroes and supervillains. they don’t have powers, they don’t live in a fantasy world. they’re people who wear combat boots with their capes and cut holes out of their cat-eared ski masks and wrap cellophane under their army/navy-surplus store hoods. they’re just people with skills and agendas and trauma who are just trying to fight their way through life in whatever way they think is necessary and right.

they don’t rely on their suits as their strength.

and to touch on the point the commenter made in the first part, about how bruce wouldn’t be a “master of dual lives”: i think that’s a perfect way to sum up this character at this point in his life. he’s only been the batman for two years. and during these two years he’s been acting as vengeance. he still harbors a lot of anger in him and it’s been radiating through the batman. he hasn’t learned how to compartmentalize those two sides of himself, if he ever will.

we’ve seen a little bit of this in other batman movies and other media, but not to this extent, in my opinion; not so that it is defining him as a character in this significant of a way. it adds so much more complexity and depth to bruce wayne and it makes it so much more realistic and believable.

one thing i think shows this really well is how bruce and batman ride the same bike throughout the film. it’s not an expensive bike. it’s not specially made with gadgets and a bat symbol, we don’t see a new bike for batman until the very end of the film.

the batman is no longer vengeance, he’s hope. and hope doesn’t hide in the shadows. hope isn’t waiting to find a fight. hope is a beacon, not a warning.

the dark knight trilogy was a turning point for superhero movies. it showed that they didn’t have to be campy and comic book-y. it showed that they can be gritty and poignant and cinematic. the batman just took that thought and elevated it to an even higher level by making these characters feel like real people. by adding even more complexity, more richness, more gravity to these characters we all know and love. and in a market as over saturated as batman, this take on the story was like taking a sip of water when you wake up in the middle of the night at three am: refreshing as hell.

i don’t know, maybe i’m rambling and maybe this is kind of all over the place. but i just love the symbolism in this film and i literally cannot wait to see what more incredible and genius moves matt reeves and the rest of the cast and crew make in part two.

While we're on the topic on similarities of LLD, I'm baffled on how they can continuously be so sexual. There are other ways to insult, there are other ways to poke fun, there are so many things they could say instead- but that doesn't get the reaction they want, of course! Live Editing SEAWOLF - Chapter 2

So this is all new territory for the most part. There'll be some overlap with Chapter 2 from the original work, but what I'm "editing" now is essentially just rewriting.

The post-it notes are a thing I got into IRL going into this semester, because I like to color code my pen, highlighter, pencil, and post-its going to classes every day. Makes everything slightly more bearable. Any who, I basically have a surplus of lime green and classic sticky-notes that I can never use.

Ring doorbell comes from some people down the hall in my dorm. They have a ring doorbell mounted next to their door so they can see who's trying to get in without getting up and going to the peep hole. It's kinda genius.

🚩Asking to be DMed with the exact same comments on two of my artworks. Something to the effect of "Wow, lovely! DM me if you're open for commissions." with a surplus of emojis. Sadly, I couldn't get a screenshot. She blocked me when she couldn't get my personal info. 😂

🚩Very basic default blog. Untitled profile.

🚩Very new blog. No original posts, only reblogs with the very first one being from the 9th of April 2025 (8 days before writing this post).

🏳️🟢❔I was just going to ignore her. But today, after two comments on different days, she initiated a DM. Usually bot commenters who ask that you DM them rarely seem to be able to do it themselves, so this was new. She also acknowledged that I openly advertise my commissions. Scammers tend to act as if they're clueless about your commission status even though you already say you're open in all your posts and profile. This means she actually skimmed through my stuff, at the very least.

🚩Gives offers that are too good to be true. She gave a reasonable amount for a big project. The final quote ended up being 100 USD more expensive, though, because she wanted all the bells and whistles I could offer. She didn't even blink when I clarified that I would need full payment before I continued the process. She just said she could pay right then and there.

🚩Cannot work out PayPal links. I repeatedly told her she could easily send the payment there, but she kept insisting that I give her my PayPal email. For those who don't know, if a scammer has your address, they can send you an email that supposedly comes from PayPal. It usually contains something that sounds urgent and you need to click so and so link to fix whatever's wrong. Clicking the link could lead to all sorts of virus and data breach trouble. People who send you money via a PayPal link will probably see your email eventually (I've never used it as the sender, so I'm not sure), but withholding it in the beginning just gives you that extra layer of protection, you know? You've already received the money before they can send you anything malicious. So naturally, I refused and told her why, that it's for my own protection. She blocked me before I could report her. 😂

Those tariffs are due to take effect on April 9 for 60 countries, with peak rates around 50 percent. That's in addition to a baseline 10 percent tariff that all countries will be subject to starting on April 5. But while Trump expressed intent to push back on anyone supposedly taking advantage of the US, some of the countries on the reciprocal tariffs list puzzled experts and officials, who pointed out to The Guardian that Trump was, for some reason, targeting uninhabited islands, some of them exporting nothing and populated with penguins.

Some overseas officials challenged Trump's math, such as George Plant, the administrator of Norfolk Island, who told the Guardian that "there are no known exports from Norfolk Island to the United States and no tariffs or known non-tariff trade barriers on goods coming to Norfolk Island."

Economists fear these tariffs could suddenly hit American businesses with enormous costs that could rapidly cause price hikes for consumers. Among those sounding alarms was economist James Surowiecki, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to allege where the supposedly "fake tariff rates come from."

The US Trade Representative published a breakdown of how the Trump administration arrived at its calculations, which Politico said "describes the same calculation detailed by Surowiecki." But according to Surowiecki, the president's team allegedly used "made-up numbers" that "only used the trade deficit in goods," not services, "so even though we run a trade surplus in services with the world, those exports don't count as far as Trump is concerned."

"They didn't actually calculate tariff rates + non-tariff barriers, as they say they did," Surowiecki wrote. "Instead, for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us." Further down in the thread, he alleged that Trump's math was "dumb and deceptive."

On social media, rumors swirled that the Trump administration got these supposedly fake numbers from chatbots. On Bluesky, tech entrepreneur Amy Hoy joined others posting screenshots from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok, each showing that the chatbots arrived at similar calculations as the Trump administration....

Whether the Trump administration actually consulted chatbots while devising its global trade policy will likely remain a rumor. It's possible that the chatbots' training data simply aligned with the administration's approach.
