i dunno if anyone has pointed it out yet but shoutout to anya mouthwashing for constantly taking actions that are pivotal to the plot.

like, she does so much in this game. she is so important that if you removed her, the story literally could not exist. and it’s not just because of what was done to her, though i’m not downplaying its importance at all. it’s her decisions in response to the situation, too. in the flashbacks, she urges curly to take action and does so herself when he won’t. in the present, she’s almost singlehandedly keeping curly alive, and her locking herself in medical sets off the whole second half of the plot. hell, you could even say her telling swansea about what jimmy did is one of the contributing factors to the final conflict between the two.

i think i just appreciate that she’s one of the major drivers of the plot and has a comparatively high level of agency and autonomy among the cast. her actions, and her as the person from whom those actions spring, carry heavy narrative weight. despite the unreliable pov downplaying her, she is unignorable and unmistakably significant. took away her choice, but it didn’t stop her choices from mattering.

This little interaction in Pokemas made my brain rewind a dozen times, I didn’t expect Ingo to get too excited to wait for his turn! He is even more silly than I thought! Rika could ask these both to get the moon from the sky and they would probably try out of competitiveness!

I’ve been looking forward to the subway bosses interacting with other characters, especially the battle chatelaines and of course the hisuians so this was awesome to see!!
