Some big twitter threads just drppped about DonDRRR (SuperMega Artist) being a groomer/manipulator and Matt/Ryan from Supermega being more concerned with their channel than the emotional ramifications of his actions

Hey i gotta talk about the supermega situation for a moment becuse there is a lot that bothers me with that transpired since the response video happened.

The supermega reddit fully flopped from wabting to cruxify matt and ryan and joking about their demise, to understanding and support. Which goes againts what entire response was about.

Matt and Ryan apologized and admitted to what they did. Even while showing screenshots, matt states that he is not showing them to defens himself, but just to provide additional information about his thought process at the time. That really changes nothing. The whole point of it all was that supermega acted ignorant and immature which caused harm to their friends - and with the additional context, they still acted ignorant and immature which caused garm to their friends. Nothing changed, the situation is still the same, which both of them fully admit to - yet weirdos still statt kissing their asses for what, taking responsibilty?

Sure, the response vidoes IMO did a good job of talking about the situation. But it angers me how pepole acted like some great reveal happened, when it didint. It was honest to god admission of guilt and yet all those disgusted in their actions have now stoppes? Like, dude. They still did horrible things! They admited to them! Nothings changed! Why are you now on "their side"? There isint even an other side! They didint cover up assult for buisness - cool, i dont care. I care about them fully shafing their friend when she needed them the most.

The second thing is the stupid leighton thing - matt himself says that leightons thing isntaking the spotlight away from a victim of sexual abuse, and what does internet do? Make it all about him noe, and his lies. That is not an important thing now. Poking few holes in someones statment should not.mean the whole thing is lies or that it should be thr focus now.

Its just apparent to me hownso many pepole didint actually care about this. It was just another internet drama, thing to click and forget. Even in the moment where the pepole involved take full responsibility, they still would better like to idolize this whole idea in their head about "le internet ppl fighting!!!!!!!".

Ever since Leighton shared his story I've seen so many people say he's "taking attention away from Lex" or say it's not his place to speak up. But none of these people are actually listening to Lex.

Lex has been supportive of Leighton this whole time. She explicitly said in her video that he was a great friend to her the whole time. She was in the chat of his twitch stream and has liked all of his tweets about the situation. She has no issue with him speaking up about his experiences.

It's frustrating to see people try to speak up for her when she has never said she has any problems with Leighton speaking up. It doesn't take away from her story. If anything it backs it up more because it shows Matt & Ryan's behavior wasn't an isolated incident, it was a pattern of behavior that multiple people experienced.

Some people are also saying "he was treated badly but not as bad as Lex, so its not his place to speak". But Leighton was also sexually harassed by Matt (He flashed his genitals at him the first day on the job and recorded/photographed Leighton in the bathroom without his consent on two separate occasions). This isn't a competition of who had it "worse", it's two people who experienced sexual misconduct and manipulation from Supermega who are standing in solidarity with each other.

If you really want to support victims, listen to what they actually say.
