Really obsessed with the idea of Mario working for Dimentio to unknowingly prepare "the ultimate show" for him

There's not even any force or brainwashing or anything involved, like come on during spm we've all pressed the yes option at least once when asked if we wanna work with Dimentio right. Right.

So Mario just splits from the rest of the team because yahoo! Adventure! And he slowly learns about the history of levels as they revisit them and maybe even get some lore and backstory as Dimentio slowly unveils his true intentions.

The floro sprout in this design is nothing more than a neutralised old one that Dimentio happened to conveniently have on hand, in this au the heroes don't really get to know much about him or get hinted at his true intentions and dimension manipulation powers until way later, he's nothing more than the counts jester, trying to stall for time focusing more on looks and presentation than actual power! And so Mario and dimentio form a genuine alliance of some sort for now, because realistically why should Dimentio care about killing the heroes or hurting them now? They'll defeat the count soon enough, trust him with the chaos heart and then they'll all be gone once he gets his way and destroys all worlds!

The Dollmaker - A one shot based on a Dimentio AU i made

Something was off.

You had no clue exactly what made you feel this, but there was something in your gut.

Mr. L had been missing for a while, which seemed normal, as he’s been trying out his own little adventures lately, but this time something felt unusual about it. Maybe it just had something to do with the doll that looked like Mr. L that Dimentio had recently crafted. It’s not usual for him to make dolls based on existing people he knew, so that could’ve been another reason. But for now, you just decided to sleep it off.

You woke up at about 2AM later that night. Because your throat felt a bit scratchy, you decided to grab a glass of water. The count had a pretty big castle, so it took you some time to find its kitchen. However, on your search, you notice the lights to Dimentio’s room were on, and the door was wide open. “Hmmm…” you thought, “what’s he doing up anyways? Maybe I should check on him?” So you approached the door of his bedroom and very gently nudged it to peek inside, although he was nowhere to be found.

“Dimentio?” You softly called out, as to not wake anyone up. No answer. You slowly crept around the room, looking for where he could possibly be. He had a pretty big room with lots of things scattered about, which sort of made you feel like giving up, till you noticed another door with very dim lights on behind it. At first you thought, “maybe it’s just a closet” but then you thought it probably wouldn’t hurt to look. When you entered this little side area, you were met with a very long hallway. It was mostly mirrors, so well polished and clear that they looked like you could just jump inside.

And someone did.

You called out to them, and they slowly approached you in the very dim light as you squinted your eyes. The person had a very blank expression on their face, and their movements were almost doll-like. As they became clearer in this oddly dim lit room, you made out exactly who this person was.

It was Mr. L.

“L? Is that you?” You asked. “Were you here all this time?” He tilted his head to the side, and you noticed a floro sprout sticking out of his head. The sprout had some ribbon tied to it too, the way it was tied looked almost like a marionette’s strings in a way. “Why wouldn’t I be here?” He scoffed. “Don’t be stupid, (Y/N), I’m obviously one of Master Dimentio’s dolls, duh.” Your eyes widened, “d-dolls?” He sighed, “uh, yeah, that’s what I said. Was it the Master’s will to make you this stupid? Jeez… He’s really just making anything to do his bidding…” You felt your heart sink into your stomach. “Ugh, whatever, I don’t have time for this. L-ater.” And just like that, he walked off.

So that’s what was so off. That’s why you felt that dread inside your stomach upon seeing that handcrafted doll that looked like Mr. L. “What the… hell?” You were frozen where you stood. All of this was just so confusing, and you had so many questions.

What is his “bidding” that Mr. L was talking about? Why did L have a floro sprout in his head? Is he just turning everyone into his puppets? What for? I don’t get it, what are his plans?

You decided you had to get out of there, as well as shake off the frozen feeling, and ponder all those questions later. You knew he was obsessed with his work with dolls but this was just so odd to you. You ran out of that hallway and slammed the door behind you. Taking in a deep breath, you noticed something you hadn’t seen before. There were more dolls, except they were all works in progress. Something about each one resembled features of the count’s minions in a way. You felt yourself feel even more devastated and you gulped, trying to make your way out of Dimentio’s room to the door that he left open. That’s when your foot hit something on the ground. It was a doll that resembled the count, except its head was completely torn off and smashed into pieces!

You gasped and covered your mouth, was he planning to betray the count?! You backed up a few steps, and almost ran into Dimentio’s desk, and you noticed what you wish you had noticed way before coming into that room, what could’ve made you piece everything together, a doll with your exact hair color, eye color, favorite thing to wear, and every other little detail about you. You decided that for your own good, you’d take the little mini-you and run out the door. You’d figure out if you were gonna say nothing or tell the count later after you slept on it.

Just as you grabbed your little doll lookalike, you heard your exit creak open more, and the sound of a certain jester’s jingling bells.

“And so, like a dog being caught doing its business on a fine family rug, I’ve caught you, and you surely won’t go unpunished~”

Seeing @snuffydoo’s Swap AU inspired me to pick up this blog again, so I drew a bit of our respective AUs interacting with each other.

My ambitions for how I wanted these to turn out were greater than my artistic ability, but I still like how these turned out (despite it being almost 4 years since I last drew any of my AU blorbos)

I’m definitely the most proud of how the Timpani picture turned out.

Been thinking about the whole Luigi and mr. L being separated into 2 people that I also have an au for (I wanna draw some stuff about it but have artblock 😔) so have a thing about my au

After mr. L moved in with Mario and Luigi, he changed his name (for some reason) to Lucifer (since it also starts with an L, and he wanted to be edgy). But everyone else was obviously like nobody's fucking calling you that, and they just shorten it to Luci.

So now he's stuck being called Luci, which he hates and corrects anyone who calls him that (even tho nobody will call him by his full name anyways)

I don't have destinct designs yet for most of my AUs but here are 6 of the ones I do have!! My favorite design so far has to be Dimentio from my L'Dunks AU since he has a bunch of pretty dresses he wears that are inspired by his canon costume.

After forever and a half, I finally got our heroes' reference sheet done. (Earrings has taken the role of Mimi for those wondering)

(from left to right)

Henry Stickmin Mario, our mute hero and older brother to Charles. He has the ability to create almost any power up for a short while, as long as he has interacted with it beforehand.

After Count Reg kicks off the story by creating the Chaos Heart, he finds himself in Flipside, where he meets with the friendly elder, Galeforce, and also gains the help of the amnesic Pixl named Right, setting off to face new enemies and to stop Count Reg and the Dark Prognosticus' prophecy from coming true.

Charles Calvin Mario, the impulsive, fearless, younger brother to Henry, who dives straight into danger, even if it sometimes gets him into trouble.

After waking up in Count Reg's castle, he decides to investigate abit and eventually try to help the few minions of King Sven get out of the strange castle and find Henry. Though things don't quite go his way.

Princess Ellie Rose, the fair ruler of the Wall Kingdom and occasional adventurer herself.

After being forced into a wedding she doesn't even remember by Count Reg and his assistant, Dr V, she wakes up in Count Reg's castle and attempts to escape, getting cornered before a mysterious force helps her escape to eventually reunite with Henry and help out on the journey.

King Sven Svensson, the rambling, no nonsense Koopa King of the Toppat Kingdom.

After Count Bleck raids his castle, tries to make him marry Ellie to make some Chaos Heart, and turns his own kingdom against him, Sven wants revenge against Count Reg, and as much as he hates Henry, it seems like the best option to save the world (so he can rule it eventually) is to join up with him.

Right the Pixl, who was once a human named Righti that was cursed and almost game overed before Galeforce saved his life.

Right doesn't remember his past and thinks that this journey with Henry to save the world could help bring back those memories, being able to scan enemies to find out about them thanks to his Pixl form.
