I got to the part where the dragon appears in Odyssey and just hear me let out a controlled scream. I say controlled cause it's late at night and can't wake up my sis or her gf. Lol.
The dragon was so pretty!! Always makes me sad when dragons are the villains. While fighting it, I was like 'Nooo! I want to be its friend!!' 😭 lol
Makes me wonder how Bowser even got the dragon to obey him in wrecking the Odyssey. Something seems fishy there. Lol
Anyways, I defeated it and stopped the game right there until tomorrow. Wanted to keep playing, but it's late and have to eat. I'm hoping the dragon makes another appearance!
I just fcking love dragons so much!!! 🐉💜
#I knew a dragon would appear in this game cause accidental spoilers before playing odyssey but still hear my excited scream lol#super mario odyssey#dragon with electric/lightning powers is always 😍👌👍 good sht#mario franchise

🌜 Super Mario Odyssey: post-ending headcanons 🌛
Today marks seven years since the release of my FAVORITE 3D Mario game:
🌜 Super Mario Odyssey 🌛
This game really means EVERYTHING to me, so I wanted to make a little something to commemorate this date. I have to admit I didn't have any ideas at first, but then I remembered what @pepperycar commented on this post... and was suddenly inspired 🤭 Thank you so much, my friend! I owe you this one 💖
So, here I bring you a few ideas that I had on what could have happened after the end of Super Mario Odyssey. There will be Mareach, brotherly love, and SPOILERS, so if you haven't finished this game yet: beware!! ⚠
(And please go play it because it's AWESOME.)
@vulpixfairy1985 @bberetd @megamagimugi @peaches2217 @keakruiser

Also, I took a bit of inspo from this adorable post that I remember reblogging from my old account. Please have a look if you haven't yet because it's absolutely CUTE 🥹
Without further ado... Let's-a go! ❤️
👑 Peach's wardrobe 👑
Princess Peach has a large and varied wardrobe. So far, Mario only remembers seeing her wearing her signature pink dresses, her favorite. She has several that are very similar to each other, with only a few small differences between them, such as puffed sleeves that her summer dress does not have, or an older design in which almost the entire skirt is a darker shade of pink. Peach always appears before him and his subjects wearing one of these outfits as pink is her favorite color, and one that, in Mario's opinion, suits her very well.
Recently, however, Mario has found that his beloved princess has a wide variety of outfits and has decided to start wearing them to visit the various kingdoms that Bowser has taken her to during her kidnapping, now that she finally has the freedom to choose where, when, and with whom to go.
And Mario loves to dress to match her.
The first time they did it, Mario ran into Peach and her friend Tiara almost by accident as she, as brave as ever, explored the lonely Forgotten Isle in an outfit worthy of Indiana Jones himself. Shorts, a backpack on her back, boots prepared for the earthy soil of the place... and her hair in a bun that was hidden under her explorer's cap.
Mario didn't take half a second to run back to his Odyssey ship and put on his own explorer's outfit to join her and continue exploring the island together.
When he met her in New Donk City, Peach was wearing one of Mario's favorite outfits of all the ones he had seen her in so far: a long pink flying skirt that, unlike her dresses, left her feet exposed; a gorgeous white blouse with a scarf around her neck, in a pastel pink shade that matched her pristine skin; and a wide hat over her abundant blonde hair. She looked beautiful and very comfortable, and the best part: she loved the black suit with matching fedora that Mario put on to go with Peach’s outfit. She told him he looked very elegant, and Mario thought his smile would overflow on both sides of his face since his cheeks hurt so much.
To him, on the other hand, the one who looked tremendously stylish and graceful was Peach when he met her in Bonneton. Her attire was dark, composed of a grayish coat, black stockings and gloves of the same color, which she combined with a beret that adorned her long hair. Mario kept watching her for a while, unable to help it, and he did the same thing when he met her in Shiveria, since the black and gold of her figure stood out among so much blinding white.
On that occasion, Mario felt that he’d never measure up to her with his orange, quilted coat, as opposed to Bonneton, where he was able to look at least a bit elegant with his black tuxedo, his red bow tie and a top hat that gave him the look of a magician. Or, at least, that's what she told him, while letting out a giggle that made Mario think of the softest and sweetest crystal bells.
Another one of his favorite outfits for the princess was her farmer attire, which was the one she chose to wear to visit the Luncheon Kingdom. Mario wasn’t surprised to find her picking turnips to help the locals prepare their famous soup, as it wasn’t the first time he’d seen her pulling vegetables from the ground. When she saw him dressed in his chef's outfit, she immediately applauded him and prepared to hand over the vegetables to him, thus naming him the official in charge of preparing the delicious best dish of the kingdom.
As for the last three outfits the princess has worn, Mario is unable to choose, as all three have provoked various sensations in him that made him wish he could stare at her forever, without having any other worries or mission to carry out. The Yukata with the fire flower pattern was, without a shadow of a doubt, one of them, a beautiful and lovely vision that gave him back some vitality and joy when he ran into Peach in Bowser's Kingdom. He, as bold as brass, put on his samurai outfit, ready to defend her from any evil, and she, always so demure, covered her face with her hand-held fan to hide a soft giggle. Still, watching her hair pulled back in a ponytail and the Boo-shaped buckle adorning her head, Mario knew he’d never measure up to her.
And he felt the same way when, while strolling along Bubblaine Beach and enjoying the coolness of the water with his doggy friend, he found her there, wearing that pretty white sarong adorned with pink power moons, the sunglasses on her blonde head... and that bikini that exposed more porcelain skin than Mario had ever seen. He felt completely ridiculous in his red swimsuit with white polka dots and wanted to sink to the depths of the crystal-clear waters of the kingdom just to prevent her from seeing him like that.
However, that couldn't overcome how stupid and embarrassed Mario felt when, just after rescuing her from Bowser's clutches, he got caught up in an absurd competition with the king of the Koopas to try to get Peach to agree to marry him. They may have both been wearing the perfect outfits, Peach in her beautiful white dress that made her look like an angel and him in his tuxedo of the same color and matching hat.
But Mario realized too late that this was not the right moment.
Still, he is content to have had the opportunity, albeit brief, to stand next to Peach while they both wore what would possibly be their wedding outfits. Mario knows that this will never happen again, that it’ll never come true, because the idea of trying to propose again wouldn’t even cross his mind. It took him a long time to forgive himself for his huge blunder, even though it took Peach only a few minutes to do so, and he’d never be able to be at peace with himself if he bothered her again.
Peach's friendship is very precious to Mario. He loves to meet her on his travels and share a few moments with her, full of fun and trust, which he wishes he could extend in time forever. In addition, on more than one occasion, Peach has asked him to accompany her to Lake Lemonade to make a new dress, and sometimes she has also invited Toad and Luigi. The people there are experts in haute couture, and Mario is always spellbound as he watches Peach pose for the seamstresses, who, in a matter of minutes, are able to create a new dress for her, each one more beautiful than the last.
And, on each occasion, Peach always turns on herself so that the dress can be appreciated in all its splendor, making her look more dazzling than a star and more radiant than the sun itself.
🎈 Balloon Brothers🎈
Shortly after he saved Peach, Mario made two decisions when he continued to travel the kingdoms on his Odyssey ship. The first one was to adopt his loyal doggy friend, the clever Shiba that has helped him find so many power moons during his adventure. He named her Hattie, as she adores wearing a hat on her head no matter where they travel to, and also because her favorite game is chasing after Mario's cap and bring it back to him.
And the second one, as soon as he ran into Luigi for the first time, was that he'd always play Balloon World with him.
Every world he travels to, whatever his purpose or the mission that takes him there, Mario always has time for his little brother and loves to play Balloon World with him. He adores seeing his sibling so cheerful and excited, and the way he claps and cheers him on always causes Mario’s unstoppable energy to soar and his heart to melt with tenderness.
In Fossil Falls, Luigi was so scared of the T-Rex that organizing the game for Mario served as a distraction and a way for him to release some stress, something Mario was extremely relieved about. In Forgotten Isle, the same bird that had captured Cappy was threatening to pop the balloons that kept Luigi in the air and that were an essential part of his outfit as the game organizer, which only motivated Mario to chase the darned bird with the help of his loyal Hattie, until, at last, and to the relief of both brothers and Cappy, he managed to scare it away.
However, as soon as Mario ran into Luigi in the Snow Kingdom, shivering with cold in his shirtsleeves, but still smiling at his brother and inviting him to play while hugging himself, Mario did not hesitate for a moment: he hurried to get rid of his orange coat and, ignoring Luigi's faint protests, threw it over his twin, taking care not to accidentally pop his balloons. Despite his initial reluctance, Luigi couldn't help but close his eyes as he snuggled into the garment, trying to get warm, and Mario, his heart shrinking, hugged him with all his might as he gently rubbed his arms and back. Luigi cuddled up to him and Mario stroked his hair gently, his mind flooded with memories of when they were both little and Luigi would run to hide in his bed because he thought there was a monster under his bed. Sighing as he held his sibling in his arms, trying to shield him from the cold and icy drafts, Mario didn't agree to play until after he had taken Luigi inside his ship to wrap him in a blanket and offer him a hot drink to warm up inside.
Nevertheless, the opposite thing happened in Tostarena: Luigi, always determined to stay true to his original outfit as the game's creator, was too warm for the scorching desert heat. Before playing Balloon World, Mario decided that his little brother needed a change to feel more comfortable. So he grabbed him by the hand and pulled him into the shop. Luigi had to bend down so that his balloons could go in with him, and Mario immediately tried to convince him to, like him, put on a typical costume of the land, poncho and wide hat included, to feel comfier while they played there. His twin resisted a little, always wanting to maintain the elegance a game show host should always display, but when Mario assured him that he could keep his green bow tie, Luigi finally gave in. And, seeing them both in matching outfits, Mario also managed to convince his brother to play Balloon World together, to which Luigi agreed only after gifting him one of his balloons for Mario to wear on his wrist.
And they've done it many more times since then: in Peronza Plaza, in Bonneton, in New Donk City... even on the Moon! Also, whenever they play in the Mushroom Kingdom, the Toads join them and Luigi ends up giving them as many balloons as possible so they can have fun playing on their own, being the kind-hearted person he is.
Of course, Mario is well aware that his sibling knows the locations of the balloons, being the organizer of Balloon World, but he equally enjoys touring the various worlds with his little brother by the hand, dragging him along while Luigi floats after him and simply lets himself go. Mario’s heart sings for joy with every laugh that escapes his twin’s throat, especially when Hattie also joins the fun and runs with them in search for the balloon, only to pop it as soon as they do. Mario also loves the way Luigi guides him, or often misleads him, to make his search for the balloon easier or more complicated. Mario likes to be challenged by the game and Luigi knows it, so he appreciates it when his brother tries to trick him to divert him from his initial goal. This lengthens the game, as well as the time the brothers spend together, thus increasing the fun.
However, when it's time to say goodbye, Mario can read in his brother's face that he’s just as reluctant to part with him as Mario himself. His complicated missions through the kingdoms and, also, the longing to be reunited with Peach and spend some time with her as well have caused Mario to have to leave his brother's side without really wanting to, his soul screaming in the depths of his being that he should not do so, that he should turn back and return to Luigi's side.
When the same thing happens to him in the Moon Kingdom, Mario finally stops before entering his ship and turns on his heels. He sees Luigi raise his head, confused to see him turn around, and the surprise on his face only grows when Mario starts running towards him, although a little slower than he’d like due to the moon's gravity. A smile breaks out on Mario's face as he speeds up as fast as he can, and he stretches out his arms as he approaches his little brother. Luigi barely has time to open his arms as well before Mario pounces on him.
Luigi's gasp causes Mario to burst out laughing as he spins around with his brother in his arms, holding him tightly. It takes him a few seconds to realize that both of them are now floating in the air, propelled not only by Luigi's balloons, but also by the lack of gravity prevailing on the moon. His sibling clings to him as he laughs shyly, and Mario pulls away from him a second before his feet touch down again.
Holding Luigi's hands tightly and energetically, Mario offers him to board his Odyssey ship and accompany him on his travels, so that they can continue playing Balloon World together as his adventure progresses. And, perhaps, Luigi could also help him during their missions, just like in the old days, when they visited faraway realms, such as Pi’illo Island or the Beanbean Kingdom, and even became partners in time.
As he speaks, Mario is very aware that his eyes are shining, full of excitement. His whole face must be, in fact, as euphoria bubbles up inside him like a river of unstoppable lava. He’s unable to keep completely still, so he inadvertently shakes his hands and, with them, those of his brother, as he explains his idea to him. And his enthusiasm undoubtedly rubs off on his twin, as Mario can read in Luigi's blue eyes, identical to his own, which are filling with a special glow that can only mean he shares Mario's eagerness.
And so it was that the brothers began to travel together.
✨ The Golden Trio ✨
In some of their first trips together, when the brothers are about to play Balloon World, Peach meets them and becomes a spectator of their games. Luigi welcomes her with open arms and quickly explains to her what Mario has to do, and while his brother is searching, Luigi reveals in whispers to the princess where the balloon his twin is looking for is hidden.
Although, at first, Mario is a little embarrassed that Peach is going to watch him while he searches, he quickly decides that he must do everything he can to impress her, so he puts more effort into finding the balloon quickly and on his own, despite Hattie's attempts to help him. Whenever he succeeds, Luigi praises him enthusiastically and gives him a big hug, which Mario reciprocates joyfully and heartily. Peach, after applauding him a little more demurely, leans over to place a kiss on his nose, causing Mario's whole face to light up until it looks redder than his shirt. This always happens under the watchful eye of Luigi, who doesn't miss the chance to give his sibling a playful nudge while trying to silence his giggles, causing Mario's blush to increase.
However, the third time Peach meets the brothers, Luigi has the idea of inviting her to participate in the game, which he eagerly puts to her. Both she and Mario are delighted, and Luigi immediately rearranges the game so that Mario and Peach can play in competition against each other.
Of course, respect and friendship prevail in the game. Mario continues to play as usual, but Peach often beats him, as she’s quick and smart, and he can only admire her more and more every time this happens. In fact, he’d say that he enjoys the occasions when the princess beats him the most, as he loves to see her so happy and enjoying herself when playing with him. Needless to say, even though Luigi is a most enthusiastic audience, Mario is the one who always applauds Peach the most, which makes her blush, something that doesn't happen to her when she thanks Luigi's compliments.
When the game is preparing to take place for the fifth time since Mario and Peach started playing together, Mario can't help but notice the way his brother is wringing his hands and fiddling with his fingers as he watches them. The game is about to begin, but he can't take his eyes off Luigi. He can read his face like an open book, something that has happened practically since they were born... and he doesn't like what he sees.
It's not that Luigi is sad. He's happy to be with them and eager to see them play Balloon World again. He's ready to cheer them both on and shower them with praise, as always, for, after all, his little brother is one of the sweetest and gentlest people he knows.
However, Mario can see in his gestures, in the way he bites his lower lip, in the way he fiddles with his own hands, in the way his eyes sparkle, that Luigi misses being able to join the game despite knowing the location of the balloons beforehand.
So even though Luigi gives the start command just a second later, Mario doesn't move.
And it pleases him greatly to realize that Peach, next to him, hasn't moved either.
When he turns his face towards her, Peach does the same. Mario barely needs a few seconds to realize that the princess, always as perceptive and as concerned about Luigi as he is, almost as if she were some sort of big sister to him, has also noticed the longing that shines in his little brother's eyes.
The two hold each other's gaze for a moment before smiling determinedly and giving one another a mutual nod. In unison, the two turn to Luigi, who looks from one to the other, his face the spitting image of bewilderment. As he and Peach start walking towards the game organizer, Mario can't help but let out a laugh in anticipation of what's about to happen, and he hears Peach let out a small giggle next to him that only makes his heart swell.
Decisively, they both hold Luigi, each with one hand, and Mario puts his other arm around Luigi's shoulders while Peach wraps her free arm around the younger plumber’s back. Luigi doesn't understand anything, but he doesn't resist, since, of course, he trusts them completely. Peach and Mario start walking while dragging him along, and the princess proclaims that, by royal order, Luigi must play Balloon World with them. This finally gets Luigi to relax and even laugh, and Mario feels his little brother squeeze his hand as he and the princess laugh together.
For a moment, Mario simply watches them. His heart fills with joy whenever he sees them getting along so well. He loves that Luigi has found in Peach a friend he can trust and be himself with, and he loves that the princess, in each of their interactions, shows that she truly cares about Luigi's well-being and wants only the best for him.
And he just loves them both so much that his heart could burst.
He couldn’t live without either of them.
When the game concludes, shortly before the brothers return to the Odyssey ship, Mario summons the courage to offer Peach to join them. That way, the three of them could travel together, keep each other company and help one another in their adventures, and they’ll always have the chance to play Balloon World together.
As he speaks, however, it occurs to Mario that perhaps he should have consulted Luigi before inviting Peach, so he throws a sidelong glance at his brother to try to apologize to him without words.
But Luigi, ever so sweet and kind, ever the man with the purest heart, is nodding eagerly as he hears his brother speak, and as soon as Mario concludes, Luigi turns to Peach and takes her hands while expressing how much he’d love for her to join them. Mario can't and won't hold back the look of intense love and adoration he gives his twin as he talks to the princess. Who, of course, gladly accepts.
Thus, Mario, Luigi and Peach, accompanied by the inseparable and always loyal Hattie, Cappy and Tiara, embark on the Odyssey to a new world. And, as they travel, the three of them look out the window, Mario and Luigi with their hands on the glass and looking at the clouds with excitement, and the princess, with a hand resting on the shoulder of each of the brothers as she joins in their excitement at the sight they are contemplating.
Their adventure has only just begun.

Yeah, I have never played any of the Paper Mario games, but I have heard good things about The Thousand Year Door. I was reading your comic "The Tears Won't Stop" based on Super Paper Mario and was rather surprised that it had a compelling story in the first place. Obviously the actual game wouldn't be anywhere near as dark as you comic but a main character being corrupted by a dark force and then fused with the villain as a boss is something that I'd expect to see in something like Digimon Tamers, not Mario. And I'm all here for it! Series that can switch from being bright and cheerful to dark and dramatic in a way that makes sense is just *chef's kiss*
It's really a shame, the Mario series has SO MUCH potential for great storytelling and in many cases already does have good narratives.
It would be so cool…
If the next 3D Mario game had the best story ever (since Galaxy anyway). And it doesn’t even need to be dark (but I kinda want it to be).
A cool concept would be if Mario was either accidentally sent to the past and he has to find a way home without interrupting the timeline, or maybe he goes to an alt dimension where he lost a battle that caused a chain reaction (this may or may not be partially inspired by Sonic Prime lol).
….oh my…what a neat idea….
Imagine Luigi in Tails- no - Nine’s place hehehehehe.
Ugh I would kill for a serious Mario game. Odyssey kinda felt like it at times. It was a nice breath of fresh air. But the paper Mario games take the cake. There doesn’t even need to be a chronological order for you to play, but when you pay attention to some stuff, like the difference between Luigi before and AFTER Super Paper Mario, it feels dark.
OOOOHH IMAGINE THIS!
We already have an evil Peach (that’s the one spoiler I have from TTYD), evil Luigi (Mr. L), and a Nice Bowser (from Superstar Saga).
Mario….when are you next?

Alternate Super Mario Odyssey Ending Concept
The ending of Super Mario Odyssey was, and perhaps still is, a controversial topic in the Mario fandom. It’s been on my mind recently because it had a significant role in my most recent fanfic (The Mayor and the Princess), and spoiler alert, it will be referenced again in a future fic. As a result, an idea of a different ending sprang to mind, and now I will share it on this platform whether you want me to or not 😂:
Everything up to where Mario freaks out when Bowser proposes to Peach with the Soiree Bouquet after rudely shoving him out of the way remains the same. After that, things begin to differ. Instead of grabbing a Rocket Flower and competing with Bowser for Peach’s attention, Mario stalks Bowser with the intention of making him leave her alone, only to see her gracefully accepting Bowser’s bouquet with a welcoming smile, leaving both Mario AND Bowser gob smacked.
Bowser is the first to recover, and he turns to face Mario with a triumphant smile and begins gloating. He taunts Mario by saying that Peach finally came to her senses. He further rubs salt in the wound by telling Mario he never stood a chance because no princess would ever choose a plumber over a king. Mario, on the other hand, is utterly heartbroken and hangs his head, thinking all the times he risked his life to protect and save her were for naught. Despite this, he still wishes for Peach to be happy with her life and plans to tell her so. He lifts his head with the intention of doing so, only to see Peach smiling devilishly and winking at him. Mario is confused once again as he wonders what Peach has in mind. This goes undetected by Bowser, who is still busy basking in his perceived glory.
Putting her plan into action, Peach fakes a radiant smile and sweetly calls Bowser’s name, causing him to stop celebrating and face her with a lovesick smile. He answers Peach lovingly with a pet name (which nearly makes her vomit) and she tells him as flattered as she is with the bouquet, it doesn’t suit her. Bowser is puzzled because he thought the Soiree Bouquet was the most desirable of them all. She butters him up by telling him that the bouquet would be better for him then shoves it in his face. One of the piranha plants clamps its jaw hard on Bowser’s nose, causing him to bellow in excruciating pain. He tries to take it off; however, the plant has an iron grip lock and stubbornly refuses to let go. Peach scolds Bowser for his actions and tells him she will never marry him, then she kicks him hard in the shin for good measure before storming away. Bowser hops away with one hand holding his shin and the other one still desperately trying to pull the bouquet from his snout.
Mario shakes his head with a smile and looks at Peach in wonder after witnessing her interaction with Bowser. Peach with a cheeky smile asks Mario if he thought she would really accept Bowser’s proposal after everything he put her through. Mario plays it off by chuckling and rubbing the back of his head. She tells him the day she willfully marries Bowser is the day Mario no longer loves Italian food. The two share a laugh over it, and Peach tells Mario she’s had enough of marriage for one day and asks him to take her home. Mario nods his head and bows before Peach, followed by him offering her hand with the intention of the two walking towards the Odyssey hand in hand. Peach, however, wraps her arms around his neck and hints that although marriage is the last thing on her mind at the moment, there is one aspect she’d like to experience. Mario picks up on the hint and smiles cheekily at her as he lifts her in his arms and carries her to the Odyssey bridal-style, with Cappy and Tiara merrily following them. During the short walk, Peach asks Mario what he was planning to do when he approached her before Bowser interrupted. Mario chuckles as he shakes his head and alludes it was nothing. From there, the end credits roll.
Nintendo said the actual ending was meant to be humorous, and I can see what they were going for. It reminded me of the Popeye series when he and Bluto would constantly fight for Olive Oyl’s affection (funny enough, Mario was inspired by Popeye in the first place 😂). This ending would still attempt to be humorous (at least to me) and not as divisive while still leaving the ambiguity of Mario and Peach’s relationship intact. That’s not to say I would change the official ending. It’s just something I thought of and wrote it out. I initially wanted to write a fanfic about it but figured a post would be better. 😅
BONUS: After the end credits, Bowser finally manages to pull the Soiree Bouquet from his nose, which is now red and swollen. He tosses the bouquet on the ground in disgust and looks around for Peach, only to see she and everyone else are already gone. He throws his arms in the air and lets out a long and frustrated roar. The screen goes black before the words “The End” appear, and Mario thanks the player for playing his game.
#just a silly idea that came to mind#wanted to write it out and post it on my blog#alternate super mario odyssey ending idea#mario#princess peach#bowser#super mario#super mario odyssey

The Super Mario Bro. Movie (2023) Review
Potential spoilers ahead...
This movie brought in the various Mario games really well. Some notable references include Luigi's Haunted Mansion while Luigi is in the dark lands, the jungle being all karts, the hat from Odyssey, and the barrels from DK. The fight scene between Mario and DK shows various other gorillas in the background, the rainbow road, and the star power in the final fight as well. There could've been more Yoshi, in my opinion, only showing a Yoshi herd and an egg in the background wasn't nearly enough. They also included aspects of players interacting with the world; such as players driving off rainbow road to gain an advantage, and learning to play the game the same way Mario learns on the practice course Peach shows him.
The animation feels like a combination of video game animation and cinematic animation. The movie's writing does an excellent job of committing to the bit; with the plumbing bit, Bowser's love for Peach, Mario being short, and Luigi being a coward are great examples. On the note of Luigi being a coward, it is clearly only there to make the dark lands/haunted mansion sequence make narrative sense.
The budget for the music in this movie is absolutely crazy and the amount of popular well-known songs on the soundtrack is insane (they could have used some of that money for…actual actors but we're not talking about that yet). During the big party at Bowser's, you can see his kids in the band, so respect the musical talents of the large ass turtles. The song "Peaches" is just as good is I had been lead to believe, and its honestly better than it should be considering what it actually is (Thank you Jack Black, you are a God).
The actual story of the movie was very interesting and manages to appeal to fans of all the different styles of Mario games. The best character in the whole movie is easily the blue star in Bowser's prison, hands down. The ending is clearly setting up for more movies and yet another franchise movie giant.
To top it all off, there's the issue with the casting and vocal performances. They should have just hired actual voice actors, not just actors who had names studio executives felt were big enough to gain attention. Jack Black, however, was fucking amazing. For starters, he did actually have voice acting experience, and Jack Black committed to the bit and was able to be thoroughly convincing in sounding like Bowser. Jack Black was easily the best VO performance in the entire movie, and if he wasn't in it, I'm not sure I'd've been able to finish the movie. Both Chris Pratt and Seth Rogan obviously didn't get the memo about committing to the bit. The beginning of the movie shows us Pratt doing the voice and the accent, but they come up with an excuse to get him to Not commit to the bit and instead he just talks like himself for the rest of the film. Pratt should've committed or just not done it at all. On top of that, you have Rogan saying in an interview that he told the casting department before they got him on board that "if I do it, I'm doing it as me" and after they heard that, they should have just walked away and found someone who would actually play Donkey Kong in way way that would wake the final product what it deserved to be.

The Mayor and the Princess
The Mayor and the Princess
Synopsis: As Pauline is on the verge of starting her day, she is unexpectedly visited by Mario and Princess Peach. Shortly after their arrival, Peach expresses a desire to speak with Pauline privately. Intrigued, Pauline agrees and ponders the possible reasons for such a request, only to find herself taken aback by the surprising explanation that Peach provides.
I can only speak for myself, but I find that writing about a subject or person you know well is generally not too difficult, especially when those subjects ignite such positive or passionate feelings. However, exploring something or someone less familiar can be a bit tricky, yet it can also be incredibly fulfilling. Having been a part of the Mario fandom for many years, my stories have primarily focused on Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, or a blend of these characters. Still, I wanted to stretch my creative muscles and write about a character who I haven’t focused on much and seems to have a minimal following. As I considered my options, the perfect character came to mind. Who could be more intriguing to write about than someone who has been around since the very beginning?
Without a doubt, I’m referring to the original damsel in distress: the incredibly gorgeous Pauline! 🥰 While she has been featured in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games, that series doesn’t seem to garner the same popularity as the core Mario games and their various spinoffs. However, Pauline enjoyed a wonderful resurgence in Super Mario Odyssey, where she serves as the mayor of the bustling New Donk City. Speaking of spinoffs, she has appeared in several of them since her SMO appearance, including Mario Kart and the Mario sports games. Excitingly, she will also be a playable character in the upcoming Super Mario Party Jamboree, marking her first appearance in the Mario Party series.
In light of everything discussed, she seems to have a minimal following, with even fewer fan works dedicated to her. With this in mind, I chose to create a series that focuses on Pauline as she becomes more integrated with the main Mario characters following the events of Super Mario Odyssey. The first story in this series is already summarized, so I won’t reiterate it here.
A bit of a spoiler here: Peach wished to have a private conversation with Pauline about Mario. I wanted to explore how Peach grappled with her feelings for Mario after she had turned him and Bowser down on the moon. The situation became even more complex when she discovered that Pauline was celebrating Mario and had even penned a song for him during the New Donk City festival. Knowing that Mario and Pauline had a past, Peach felt the need to ask if Pauline still had any romantic feelings for him. To her relief, Pauline confirmed that she and Mario were just friends and had no interest in rekindling their romance. Furthermore, Pauline affirmed Peach's decision to reject Mario on the moon, expressing her belief that Mario still thinks highly of Peach in spite of it. In the end, Peach recognized that Pauline appeared to be a good person and chose to befriend her, even inviting her to join for a round of golf the following weekend.
I’m really happy with how this story has turned out; I think it serves as a wonderful kickoff for the series. As of now, I’ve finished two stories (I’ll be discussing the second one next) and am in the process of writing the third. As it stands, I have three well-defined stories, but a few ideas for future tales are also on my mind. I’ll just have to wait and see how everything shapes up from here.

Ok, hear me out-
[Minor Mario movie spoilers]
Of all the 80s songs used throughout the movie, the one that seemed the most fitting was "Holding Out for a Hero" (maybe it's because it reminded me of those Super Mario Odyssey videos that used the Shrek 2 version)
But I'm here to suggest an alternative!
Here's to hoping someone does make an edit once there's better footage of the training course scene

Super Mario movie spoilers ‼️
I watched the film this week and I think it was good fun! This is my honest review after being able to think about it for a while
Bowser singing Peaches was absolutely horrifying to witness /hj
However I absolutely adored the scene directly after when Bowser and Kamek were at the piano together
Mario and Luigi voices in the commercial at the start were very entertaining and I can sort of see why they didn’t keep them all the way through but it would’ve been very funny if they did
I loved the way Mario and Luigi interacted with each other, I was smiling all the time. It’s so obvious that they love each other and their familial bond is so strong and that’s really nice to see.
I enjoyed knowing the references when I saw them but I felt like there could’ve been more? I was especially excited to see Bowser’s wedding suit from Super Mario Odyssey though!
Some really well known characters weren’t there at all? Like Daisy, Bowser Jr, Yoshi, Birdetta, Rosalina [though she was subtly hinted at]. Pauline only showed up for two seconds which I found odd considering Donkey Kong was a huge part of the film. And the Broodals weren’t there too which was really strange because they’re WEDDING PLANNERS and a key part of the film was the WEDDING, and I know they could’ve added them because there was other references to Super Mario Odyssey.
I have never liked Donkey Kong as a character until I watched this film, also the Donkey Kong theme song being played was the nicest surprise for me.
That blue thing in the cage, I think it was a Luma, the one that kept talking about the sweet release of death. I HATED IT. Never hated anything more, it wasn’t funny in the slightest.
Why’d they give Mario daddy issues I had to stop myself from laughing in the cinema
The best part of the film was Luigi, hands down. I loved every part of his character, every frame where he was visible was great
The visual style of the film was lovely to look at, especially the background when they were travelling through the green pipes! Everything looked so soft and nice.
WHY IS BULLET BILL BASICALLY A NUKE EQUIVALENT
I absolutely adore King Boo and King Bob-omb, and they both showed up!! I don’t care if they were only cameo appearances, I was really happy to see them. However, I feel as though King Bob-omb could’ve taken on his more proud personality, instead of just being terrified? Also King Boo could’ve been rendered with his Luigi’s Mansion design because otherwise he’s literally just a boo with a hat on, and that’s considerably less interesting.
so overall I thought it was great, despite my criticisms, I have very passionate opinions when it comes to Mario
no one’s gonna see this post lol

Okay the only ones I understand here are Minecraft and that one Luigi game-
Yeaaaa they kinda vague but if it were made any clearer it wouldn’t sound boring enough XD
Legend of Zelda Twilight princess (the main gimmick is turning into a wolf and main antagonist Ganon is/turns into a boar in every game)
Etrian Odyssey (no worries, no one knows that series XD You make some characters of your own and explore a mysterious labyrinth inside an ancient giant tree that has never been conquered. The endboss is the tree‘s core)
Minecraft
Mario n Luigi Dream Team Bros (50% of the game is hopping into Luigi‘s dreams as Mario)
Super Paper Mario (spoiler ig but. That is actually something that happens in the game, minus leaps more wild stuff happening in between lol)
#if I had a nickel for every time Luigi was The Chosen One#i’d have 2 nickels#which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

I Want To Hug That Koopa Troopa Cinnamon Roll From Super Mario 2023 Movie
[Note: Small Spoilers About the Super Mario 2023 Movie, don’t read if you haven’t watch it, because it might be a good idea to watch the movie first before reading this. this will also talk about some fan headcanon theories about Mario and Peach, also Please Don’t Reblog This Without My Permission, ya can still heart/fave this if you like it, but please don’t reblog this without my permission, some of my posts can still be reblog without even asking, but there will be some that can’t without my okay with it, so yeah, hope some understand and respect my feelings about it.]
okay I just can’t help but find the Koopa Troopa that tried to hide in his shell, and who I think might be the same one who speaks up to Bowser about Peach possibly saying No...
he is just so precious, I want to glomp him, or like pick him up and give his precious cinnamon roll self a big hug.
also the movie also shows that Princess Peach, wasn’t born into royalty.
well I wasn’t born in a fancy castle either even if I do have royal ancestors, well I did find out I was born in a Catholic Hospital that had some Nuns in it, and my family is Christian, well I did go by Christian before, but I am Neo-Spiritual now, it is because I believe in both the Heavenly Father and Earthly Mother now, ya know going from just believing in God, to believing in both him and the Goddess.
also the movie makes me view Mario in a new way, that he could possibly be Demisexual or like Demiromantic, because he and Peach seem to be friendly with each other in a friend type of way, but it doesn’t mean they were flirting in a romantic way, even if the spark of the feelings could be starting out as platonic feelings at first even to the end of the movie, it takes time for true romantic feelings to form.
but I’m not even sure if Princess Peach would end up falling in love with Mario in a second version of the movie, and I don’t think Peach’s rejection of Bowser has anything to do with him not being Human.....and besides her not seeing the emotionally hurt guy he is on the inside, and while I still think she is awesome and cool, I had thoughts of disagreeing with her about how she views Bowser, and I do want to punch her in the arm, but maybe put only half of my strength in it.
so yeah, what I’m getting at is that Princess Peach could possibly...
well not sure if I’m right or not, but this is just a theory....
but she could be like that guy from that song “He Likes Boys” by Simone Battle.
only in a parody song, Princess Peach Likes Girls.
and Mario, if he did end up falling in love with Peach, he could be the one who sings “I like this Princess but she’s on the fence” and that “she likes girls”
but he learns to accept it, and Mario and Peach’s close friendship, would have her possibly coming out to Mario about it, even if Toad and Donkey Kong had no clue about it.
Princess Peach could be either a Lesbian or Sapphic.
in Fanon Timelines, she could still be Heterosexual, while in some she is Bisexual, but it could be possible that she could be Sapphic.
she could still be flattered by some guys having feelings for her, like Mario, but she could never have romantic feelings for them....
Super Mario Odyssey could of been a hint there, but it could be possible that in some of the timelines, Princes Peach is Heteroromantic, but in some she could be Sapphic.
and if in the Super Mario 2023 Movie Timeline, it turns out she is Sapphic...
then it would mean that Bowser was jealous over Peach liking Mario in a romantic way, was all nothing.
and if Mario & Bowser started to fight over Peach in a romantic way,
someone should tell those two these words...
“she’s not interest, because she likes girls, you adorkable goobers.”
I don’t know if any other Fans, after watching the movie came to the same theory about Princess Peach, and I’m glad that I was finally able to watch it and was able to avoid too much spoilers.
and well I don’t know if other fans had come to this conclusion about Mario and Peach as well, that Mario might be demiromantic or demisexual...
and Peach might be a Lesbian or Sapphic, but could never come out of the closet before until now, I mean even if it isn’t said in the movie, but Peach could possibly of formed platonic feelings of friendship to Mario, and the feelings could be mutual, and while in some timelines they are in love with each other, there could be some that show that they are just friends and nothing more.
also it turns out Ludwig Von Koopa’s name does come up in the movie, even if it isn’t said, it has his name on the piano, that Bowser is playing...
so that is one of the Easter Eggs in the movie.
that could also mean that the piano that Bowser plays, belongs to Ludwig.
also while watching the movie, it had pop into my head, that Bowser is a Simp.
like even finally seeing he can do so much better than Peach, and seeming to have been over her, but then ends up trying to win her over again, only for him to be turned small by that blue mushroom, ya think the second time he would learn....but in the end, he shows he doesn’t and he is still being a simp for her.
Bowser is a Peach-Simp, and it’s kind of adorkable.
also it might be possible that Bowser could be the Koopalings Uncle, possibly being the children of his Brother, I mean that could be possible.
it would also make the Koopalings the Cousins of Bowser Jr.
anyway, I can’t help but want to hug that Koopa Troopa who I believe is both the one who tried to hide in his shell and told Bowser the hard truth about Peach telling him “No” to marrying him.
at first I wanted to call that Koopa Troopa by the name Sherman, but it might not really fully fit him.
so maybe calling him Robert and calling him by the nickname “Robby Troopa”
would fit his cute cinnamon roll self, and I was going go with Rupert, but maybe the name Robby could work for him.
protect the precious cinnamon roll troopa known as Robby, any Kong or Toad or Mario, even dares to harm him will know the wrath of the Robby Troopa Fan Club! lol XD
“this princess, is taking this Koopa Troopa to another castle.” *picks Robby Troopa up and starts to run off with him*
I’m being weird, but seriously I do like that character even if he doesn’t have a name in the movie, well not one that I’m aware of.
it be funny if Princess Daisy ends up being charmed by Robby, and ends up kidnapping Robby Troopa, and the other Koopa Troopa bring up to Bowser that one of the Koopa Troopa was kidnap by a Princess. XD
Bowser could be really mad and very surprised that one of his Koopa Troopa ended up being kidnap by a Princess.
Robby is just too precious for this multiverse, and he must be protected.
also Princess Peach being made the Toads Princess, could mean that she didn’t start out as a Princess and could possibly not have came from royal bloodline, but she could be the start of a new royal bloodline since she was made as the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom.
and once again, didn’t grow up in a fancy castle, but I am technically a Princess, even if I don’t have that official title, but I don’t mind the normal life.
I can’t agree with some royal rules like you have to wait for the Queen to eat or have to stop eating if she stops, what if someone hasn’t ate anything all day, and their lips are really pale and they look like they are about to faint, that should let them be allowed to still eat, even when a Queen or King stops eating.
I’m pretty sure I had watched a video about it before, I don’t know if I’m misremembering about it or not, but that rule doesn’t seem right, because it could be harmful to those who are in dangerously need of food in them.
and well in a little bit, I’m going to get something to eat.
so anyway, I can’t help but love Robby Troopa, you know in the platonic way.
and if it were possible, I would protect him and keep him from harm.
he is a precious cinnamon roll, and even if he ends up staying a Dry Bones, he is still a precious cinnamon roll, that is too precious for this world.
even if he is a Dry Bones, I would still hug him. XD

After countless hours I have finally passed the story mode of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and all the sidequests too.
The game was really great and lots of fun!! Going to wait for check to come so I can buy all the dlcs lol.
I really enjoyed the final battle and being able to play as everyone in the team and not just 3 characters. That was awesome.
I probably would have beaten Cursa a lot sooner, but in the first round when wanting to go back and not use an item, no matter what I did it was just stuck on that screen. So, I had to start that 2nd half of the battle over again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 And then when I restarted that portion of the battle (stupid stuck screen) I lost. Lol. But after that and trying again I won. Lol
I think Rosalina will probably be my favorite princess. Before this, I had never seen her in any of the Mario games I had played. She looks like a really interesting character. I heard her past is tragic (no one give me spoilers!!) Though idk anything about Daisy either 🤔 (again no spoilers pls lol) Still, though my feelings over potential fave characters are never wrong xD
Also Mario standing in front of Rosalina to protect her, can I just 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 He's such a genuine good guy, idk how anyone can dislike Mario!! On this blog we love and appreciate Mario 😊❤
Anyways, again, game was really fun! After I buy the dlcs and pass them, I plan to buy and play Super Mario Odyssey next!! ^^

I made a bunch of predictions from the announcement and up to the release of The Super Mario Bros Movie, some joking, some half-serious, some for real, and now that the movie’s out, I figured it was time to fully revisit them and see how I fared. SPOILERS AHEAD. I might get review-y.
The Toads will act like Minions and dominate all marketing and merchandise. JOSSED. The Toads are just people. Just mushroom people living their lives in Toad Town.
Bowser will be voiced by an unfitting former A-lister trying to reinvent himself. JOSSED. I’M SO SORRY, I WAS SO BITTER AND WRONG.
He will make jokes and references which will leave the movie dated upon arrival. JOSSED. He is both menacing AND a dork, and it works! His love ballad in the top 100 on iTunes is proof enough there.
The trailers and TV spots will feature copious usage of Van Halen’s Jump. However, this will not be in the movie or its soundtrack album, instead replaced with a vague cover version by Pharrell Williams. JOSSED. The trailers mostly used Black Hydra’s Super Mushroom. The actual licensed pop songs used in the movie were....well, interesting. Choices were certainly made.
The film will perform moderately well at the box office in Europe and America, but will be banned in China and Russia due to a 30 second sequence involving Birdo in a fashion show set to Born This Way. YES AND NO. Birdo is nowhere to be seen, but so far the film is doing VERY well. Russia haven't got it at all, but they're not getting anything new or nice until they stop being dicks in Ukraine.
Despite lacklustre reviews, it will eventually attain a cult following akin to Shrek and include a subculture of people who unironically really want to fuck Kamek. YES AND NO. Critics are slamming it, but fans are having a fine time! However it’s not necessarily Kamek people are eyeing up, but Bowser, when they’re not shipping him with Luigi. Or possibly even when they are.
Before going to the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi are going to have some sort of big argument or estrangement, leading them to be separated for the bulk of the movie, only to realise they needed each other and reunite for the final battle with Bowser. YES AND NO. They are separated, yes, and do reunite in the third act, but there's no estrangement. Far from it. Their brotherly bond is just so important to them, and saving Luigi is Mario’s sole motivation on his adventure. They're lost without each other and that's just so sweet. “Nothing can hurt us as long as we’re together”, indeed.
Bowser will kidnap Peach as a last ditch power grab when whatever’s happening with the Stars goes sour. KIND OF? Bowser only wanted the Super Star in the first place so Peach would be impressed enough to marry him, and when just having the Star doesn’t work out, he manipulates her into marriage by threatening Toad, and by extension all the other Toads. A kidnapping by coercion if you will.
There’ll be a market chase sequence, where Mario will pass Waluigi who’ll let out a long Charles Martinet voiced “waaaaah” and look knowingly at the camera for an uncomfortable few seconds. JOSSED. This is a Waluigi-free zone.
Alternatively, there’ll be a post-credit scene back in Brooklyn where we see Wario, voiced by Charles Martinet, picking his nose and declaring it to be a keeper while Waluigi cleans the toilet in a maid costume and discovers a pipe to the Mushroom Kingdom. JOSSED. That is NOT what we get in the stinger. I still kind of want to see it though, I think it’s a damn funny image.
That classic Super Mario Bros overworld theme is going to be used a lot. Like, we’ll all be sick of it by the end of the movie. YES AND NO. It IS used a lot, but not overbearingly so. There are a lot of other musical nods and motifs from the games, from SMB 1 to Odyssey and then some. The GameCube noise was very nice to hear too. Brian Tyler did a fantastic job on the score.
There’ll be a Minion on the Illumination title card who eats a mushroom and grows too big for the screen. Alternatively, it’ll be a small group of Minions doing an acapella version of the end of level theme. YES AND NO. We do see a Minion, but he’s in a kart ready for a race. I wasn’t expecting that one.

MARIO MOVIE REVIEW 2023
As a Mario fan, ofc
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
Things the Movie excelled in
Cinematography
It was actually pretty nice and refreshing
The set pieces
Immaculate attention to detail.
Mario Movie References
Mario Galaxy
The blue star child in the cage
When Peaches ship thing dis-attaches from the castle in the beginning of the film
Super Mario 3D World
The music when they enter the mushroom town is the same as in Super Mario 3D World
In one of the stalls in the town, the Toad is selling the bell powerup
The town has the same colour scheme & clear pipes as the game
Mario gets the same bell/cat powerup as in the game
Super Mario Odyssey
Pauline Reference
Bowser’s wedding outfit is the same as the one in the game (flowers, suit, the whole bit)
Same with Peach
The wedding music that plays is the same that plays in the Odyssey game
The desert area with the floating pyramid is an actual world in Odyssey
MarioKart Eight Deluxe
Blue shell
Bananas
Rainbow road
The Kart mechanics (hovering, glide )
Nice attention to detail with drifting
When picking their karts the music that plays is the same as on the customisation screen of the game(also the scrolling thing to pick the kart components is neat)
THEIR CHOSEN KARTS AND OUTFITS
Peach has the iconic bike and outfit
Mario has the standard kart
Also, toad having the big car is a nice touch
Mario Party
The superstar
The shot in which Boswer holds the star is the EXACT SAME as when you win the star in the game
Luigi’s Mansion
The “Dark Lands” trees have the same gnarly design as in the game
ALSO, LUIGI’S FLASHLIGHT AND THE WHOLE BIT IN THE FOREST GAVE MASSIVE LUIGI’S MANSION VIBES OTHER REFERENCES
“The princess is in another castle” joke
Captain Toad looks very good, his bag is on point, love the attention to detail (I wish they actually named him tho)
The soundtrack
When the brothers discover the underground pipes in brooklin, the music is the same as when u are in an underground tunnel in the Mario games
The music that plays when they use the star to defeat bowser is the same as in the games
The music that plays when the toads cheer for Peach and Mario is the same as in the Congratulations screen in Mario Kart Wii
Love their mannerisms
I like how Peach’s fighting style comprises mostly of kicks, like in super smash bros
How Mario jumps
Nailed the outfits (Peach’s fire and ice outfits, cat power, racoon power etc) and how they looked as kids
Love how they managed to fit all of bowsers army
Yoshi cameo <3333
The design of DK’s village is spot on
Like how they included the different characters, with DK, Diddy Kong and the old guy (sorry DK fans, Idk his name)
Not a massive DK game player, so any references were lost on me tbh
Things the Movie sucked at
The plot was generic at best, actively terrible at worst
The Peach’s song sucks, and I hope it is mem-a-fied
The Jokes were a hit or miss
MISSED OPPORTUNITIES
BOWSERS KIDS, WHERE IS BOWSER JR!!!!
HONESTLY, THE B PLOT OF THIS MOVIE SHOULD HAVE FOCUSED ON THE KAPPA CHILDREN, DO U NOT UNDERSTAND THE POTENTIAL!!??
Rosalina my beloved
Daisy :(((
WALUIGI AND WARIO HOW DARE THEY CUT U OUT
Overall Thoughts and Opinions
6.5/10
The creators definitely loved the franchise, I adored the attention to detail. It’s not the peak of cinema by any means, but it’s a good time. Though, if you’re not a Mario fan, you might want to skip this one.

LEGIT I WAS- STIMMING AND GOING CRAZY THIS MOVIE SLAPS SO HARD, AND FEELS AMAZING AND LOOKS AMAZING. IT IS MARIO.
IT’S SIMPLE, YET BEAUTIFUL. ..which is what mario is, Let’s be real. Unless it’s the spin offs. this is mainline mario.
Critic’s don’t understand that. I love how it borrowed elements from all sorts of mario’s, Like the super show, Odyssey, Mario Kart, And even donkey kong!
It’s really amazing and the plot is actually pretty nice. The intricate details, The music, The animation, It’s all worthwhile.
..Also bowser stole the show i’m sorry-
