forgotten kirby facts 106- kirby dreamland 2, kirby block ball and kirby star stacker were all designed with utilizing the super gameboy adapter cartridge to add color and borders to the games (DL2 and stacker also would gain new sound effects), this feature was not implemented in the games later online rerelases, the 66th volume of the electronic gaming monthly magazine also included a photo of an earlier version of KDL2s border, as did the 30th volume of the nintendo magazine system in the UK.
kirby dreamland and pinball land could also get a special pallette through using the super gameboy, as tilt n tumble was made for the gameboy color, its fully incompatible with the device.

I don't think I've ever managed to get an adult Tamagotchi in the Gameboy game until now. Nice. I screwed up at first and got Kutchitamatchi because I didn't know about the hidden stats, aparantly you can see them with a special button combo, but I also didn't underestand playing sports and math games raise their fear/stress if you do it late at night or early in the morning, so that could explain why I got a bad care teenager. I like Kuchipatchi, so no complaints here.
How do I like this game? Well... it's definitely a Tamagotchi. I think something is lost when it's not an LCD keychain that is always on and always with you. If I was playing this on a Game Boy, I'd only play it in short bursts, because I want to preserve my precious batteries. You can thankfully speed up the time but I think that's not a great way to experience virtual pets. The fact that i'm playing on Super Gameboy with a second TV next to it that I can use to entertain myself in my downtime is the only reason I can play this.
But... I did want to play it. I'm glad I got to finally get an adult. And I'd like to shoot for a better care adult next time, maybe raising multiple tamas at once. One thing I always manage to miss is the tournaments. I think those are supposed to make this game more engaging.
This does help me get my Tamagotchi fix without actually running a Tamagotchi though. I think I'll actually pick up one of my real Tamagotchis to run at the star of the month when I usually swap my v-pets out. I've been getting that urge ever since my phone charm addiction set in, and i'm expecting some actual Tamagotchi themed phone charms later this month, so, yay for that.
I wonder if the japan-only sequels are able to be played despite the language barrier? Virtual pets seem mostly easy to understand without speaking Japanese, but a game could be another story.

It doesn't seem to be commonly well known that Pokemon Gold and Silver still work on the original DMG GameBoy without colour, and even has a Super GameBoy mode. The GameGear is me being silly and messing around with RetroArch filters x3

Pokémon Yellow (Gameboy)
If I’m not mistaken, my dad sent me this cartridge for my 5th birthday and it was the first game that I ever owned. I doubt I got that far in it originally, considering the fact that I was five years old, but I still loved playing it. I included my favorite 6 Gen-1 Pokémon in the last pic.
The Super Gameboy has a special Pikachu frame for this game. It’s a good one, as you can see.

Here's another one of favorite Mareach pieces❤️🩷 I believe this 3-piece is around the time I started giving Mario the nickname, Teddy Bear because of how sometimes Peach would hold him, like on the second piece🧸
I headcanon that both of them are heavy sleepers while Peach is the slightly heavier sleeper! That's why they tend to have drool near their mouths🤭
