In cql, there is this little scene where the Nie bros have a celebration banquet for their Sunshooting comrades - and the empty table behind Jiang Cheng's is Lan Wangji's.

Lan Wangji is too busy sadly playing the qin in his room to attend, and his absence is noted with people staring at the only empty table that only holds a little pot of tea and no alcohol. Jiang Cheng isn't looking, he's pretending to be too cool to care, and then will be the one to ask about Lan Zhan for the rest of the episode.

If Lan Wangji was sitting there, Jiang Cheng's sprawling robes that gently drape over the leg of Lan Wangji's empty table could have been in reach. Not that I ever think about that. Lan Wangji would also spend most of his evening with a beautiful view of purple and neck and back. Not that I ever think about that either.

Why is Lan Wangji supposed to sit there anyway? Nie bros did it to torture me. Nie Mingjue: Those two heroically fought side-by-side for three months. They must sit together to endure this prolonged exchange of unnecessary pleasantries and look forward to discussing battle strategies together!!! Nie Huaisang: Sure, let's squeeze Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian on one table to make it happen!

Or worse even, if Jiang Cheng saved Lan Wangji a seat there. Which is the perfect set-up to have him dramatically turn to look at the empty table, and then later that night look for Lan Wangji in his room to ask if he's alright demand an explanation why he was rude and insulted them all with his absence.

After the Sunshoot campaign and for some reason Wei Wuxian is in Cloud Recess and Lan Qiren discovers that they don’t have a core. But the lan clan had a technique to fix a lost core for others that had been attacked by others that could melt their core. @nikkiwhitecraft

I was the requester for #1.

I am sure that part of the story that Wei Wuxian and Lan Q had to travel, and that was when it was discovered that Wei Wuxian had no core, and Lan Q was annoyed he never said anything and the Lan Clan had a technique to restore a core that was lost/melted as the core melting clan was known.

3. Hi! I’m searching for a fiction on AO3 where Wei Wuxian is a Rogue cultivator, he founds Lan Wangji floating in a river/lake and saves him. Wangji don’t remember anything due to the trauma he has suffered and his core is damaged altogether. He had a severe injury on his back but when he recovers he starts to travel with Wei Wuxian, not knowing his brother is searching for him. Because of his poor health issues he breakdown with a fever in the middle of a hunt, far from everything, during this time Lan Wangji loses consciousness, Wei Ying is visited by a strange fox spirit, really creepy whom he made a pact with to save Lan Wangji life's. In the history, Wei Ying has an uncle that reach both of them to advise something, Lan Wangji discorver to be a really powerfull fox spirit, i think they call him Huxia or something like this, Wei Ying "dies" by the venom of a fierce corpse (most like become one of them) and is ressurected by the Jade Emperor himself, the Demon subdue palace is actually a palace and Wangji's mother was the previous Huxia.

I’m going crazy cuz I remember ALL the history, but not the name of the fiction.

4. Hi, could you please help me find a wangxian fic? I apologize for the inconvenience, especially because i don’t remember much of the plot except select few parts of it and i dont remember if it was a thread on twitter or on ao3.

The scenes i do remember are as followed: Prior to this scene, wangxian might have had an argument or were avoiding each other because i dont think they had spoken to each other in a while. The scene i remember is WWX going to JYL’s place where everyone is gathered for a get together, wwx dotes over JL, going on about how he’s the favorite uncle. When he enters the living room, he sees LWJ on the couch, and sitting next to him is JZX half brother MXY talking to him. He thinks they are sitting a little too close and he gets a bit jealous but doesn’t say anything. I’m not sure if I remember it right, but i think people or mainly nhs kept saying how MXY resembles WWX, worsening the situation. Wangxian and their whole eye contact happens and everyone in the room is tense because of their interaction or lack their of. WWX suddenly goes to the bathroom, leaning into the sink…waiting and LWJ follows him in. They end up reconciling.

Thats all I remember, I know its not much, and i have been struggling as well because of it going through my bookmarks on ao3 and twitter. I’m hoping someone remembers this part as well and can mention the fic. Thank you!

The scene is towards the very end so MXY’s presence is more of a cameo, he wasn’t present for the fic. WX might have a fwb situation that went wrong or it might be a lwj fucks fic. 7. Looking for help finding the name of this fic on ao3 I’m have trouble hunting it back down. Burial mounds settlement days canon divergence.

Essentially the premise is that the people living in Yiling often see Wei Ying taking care of and teaching A-Yuan by the river and a woman one day who was also there to wash her clothes asked him to look after her son while she was busy. This snowballed into Wei Ying basically running a little informal school out of Yiling where he teaches and just looks after any child that is brought there, including orphans and prostitute’s children which is kinda illegal. Lan Zhan knows and regularly visits. If the children show aptitude for cultivation they usually get sent to the Lan or (later in the story) the Jiang. The rest of the Wens kinda accidentally become a part of the Yiling community so much so that they all move out of the burial mounds and into the town proper. Because they’ve all left the mounds and disconnected pretty hard from the cultivation community they don’t even realize that the Jin’s sent people to attack the mounds. They found no one and declared to the world that they had slayed the rest of the wen dogs alongside Wei Wuxian. Jiang Cheng only finds out his brother is alive because he’s been informed that a small school in the Jiang territory hasn’t been paying taxes and when he goes to investigate finds Wei Ying safe and sound. @coffeehousefanfics

But it’s the one where wwx takes a curse from some ghost in order for her to move on. It’s a curse where he can’t see or feel anyone that feels “strongly” about him. He assumes the juniors all either hate or fear him and I forgot what he assumed lwj. They say to break the curse he has to accept the others’ feelings. So he tried to accept the fact that jin ling hated him although jin ling did not mean what he said and was confused at how wwx reacted. I think lan jinyi was the one who figured out wwx couldn’t see them because he launched at him as if he was going to attack him and wwx didn’t flinch. How to watch episode 19&20 wearing shipping goggles

So, I rambled about the beloved Zhancheng Sunshot Campaign episodes here, but still have many thoughts within me, which culminates in this extended cut.

I'm calling episode 19 and 20 of The Untamed the Zhancheng Sunshot episodes, because they basically are just one mini-movie of them wandering around, investigating Wei Wuxian's disappearance and sunshooting while being cute.

Starting with their power couple entrance.

We're picking up with them after the entire "insert Golden Core in shidi" drama after a 3 months timeskip. This is just a whole banquet served for a starved shipper like myself. Just think of all the sweet and salty filler you can use those 3 months for. Jiang Cheng was all by himself after the Core debacle, having nothing but spiritual power and a fancy hat. Without a sword, he basically had to hitchhike or walk to the Cloud Recesses to find help. Lan Wangji had just led an group of disciples to take his home back from the Wens. His uncle was still injured, most of the Cloud Recesses had been burnt, his sword was also unavailable. He does carry a sword in episode 18, but it doesn't seem to be Bichen and he is without one when we pick up with him here.

This is also the first time we hear Lan Wangji speak again since episode 14. So, it's necessary to have him say something iconic like "Kneel" to make Jiang Cheng melt on the inside. He does make an incredible entrance, even without a sword. As does Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng flies in all by himself. He has no sword, no disciples, and no one knows where he got the fancy robes from. He has Lan Wangji though, who basically works like a sword to carry. Good choice, Jiang Cheng!

Wearing your shipping goggles, you can happily fawn over them taking the lead in this moment together. Lan Wangji walks ahead, he has Wangji somewhere in his pouch, some neat strings available for chord assassination. Jiang Cheng isn't using it in this scene, but he does have Zidian. Even without borrowed swords, it wasn't a bad idea of them to infiltrate the Indoctrination Bureau. There's an entire fic waiting there how they did that. I can already feel the tension in their sudden need to trust each other in several life threatening stealth situations. Tehe~

After retrieving their swords, Zhancheng find themselves staring dramatically at the horizon to discuss their feelings. Jiang Cheng discusses his feelings because he does that all the time. It's all very normal. They match sky for cinematographic purposes, not because my shipping goggles come tinted.

We also learn that Jiang Cheng thought he'd find them all (aka Lan Wangji, Jin Zixuan, and probably Nie Huaisang who fainted and was carried back to dage, and even possibly Wei Wuxian) regrouping in Lanling. So, during the three month timeskip, he did in fact either go there first to get his new robes and help, or directly to the Cloud Recesses, where we last saw Lan Wangji's grand return after missing him dearly for several episodes.

I'm in favour of Jiang Cheng hitchhiking to the Cloud Recesses for simple reasons of it being closer, him having no means to travel without Sandu, and mostly because he reunited with Jiang Yanli only later in Qinghe when she was with Jin Zixuan in Lanling after departing with Song Lan. Obviously also because I wear shipping goggles and want Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji to go purple robe shopping. Which they could also do in Lanling. Many options, much food.

After sharing his worries with Lan Wangji, they are reunited with their swords. Sandu and Bichen are very sad to be separated. Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji look cute together.

Jiang Cheng lets Lan Wangji pull at Wei Wuxian's sword to find it has sealed itself. The utter display of trust and lack of questioning is something people wearing shipping goggles latch on. There is also delicious tragedy in this, because if Jiang Cheng had pulled Suibian now, the Core debacle might have doomed all of them less or more, we'll never find out. What we can find out, after adjusting our shipping goggles, is that this moment can come back to haunt Zhancheng almost twenty years into their future. As if they needed more angst potential.

Zhancheng regroup with their supporting cast on the Unclean Realm's battlefield. Jiang Cheng can finally reunite with his sister, hugging her while Lan Wangji watches like he wants to be hugged like that. Jin Zixuan also regrets not getting any hugs. With the Jiang siblings hugging it out, Lan Wangji can also marvel at Wen Xu's head, taken off by Nie Mingjue. Ah, the delicious fuel to have Lan Wangji of all people look vengeful at someone. Wen Xu broke his leg, burnt his home, murdered his fellow disciples. Lan Wangji could really use a hug right now. Looking at you, Jiang Cheng, not at Jin Zixuan scooting in there.

The best thing about their strategy discussion with Nie Mingjue aside from all the looks Lan Wangji throws at Jiang Cheng is them asking for the same assignment without previous discussion.

Lan Wangji looks delightfully worried about Jiang Cheng's angy moment, but does not have a snickers available. A hug might do. And Jiang Cheng searches for Lan Wangji to look at in his worried moments. Just hug.

Some wordless communication and in sync movement fogs up the shipping goggles. Nie Mingjue also approves of young heroes sticking close together for fighting and comfort. Jin Zixuan almost gets smacked out of the way by Lan Wangji trying to hurry after Jiang Cheng.

Next time we see Jiang Cheng, getting some soup from his sister, it is dark. This can mean many things like they finally had time to take a bath and stop smelling of blood, but they can also have a few lovely fic filler hours together. Tehe~

Next time we see them, Jiang Cheng has also retrieved/recruited some disciples of his own and is allowed to command the Lan disciples, except for Lan Wangji, who has a special spot at his side. The disciples seem very used to Jiang Zongzhu giving commands, they are off like he threw them a treat. Dog trainer Jiang Cheng strikes, I guess. Lan Wangji approves of good displays of leadership.

Sticking close to Jiang Cheng means Lan Wangji can witness the beautiful display of leadership and Zidian usage from the front row. His glance from the side is gasp and giggle worthy for a lost shipper soul like mine. He approves of an efficient, dramatic usage of spiritual weapons.

Their investigation of the reversed talismans not only comes with memorable lines, but another display of standing closer than necessary and trusted words. Their hands almost touched. Jiang Cheng has never heard of reversed talismans, he doesn't know about this, and he isn't afraid to ask for Lan Wangji's opinion and help, which is just melting me like butter in the sun.

Honourable mention to them putting Lan Wangji on a Scully box for this scene to appear giant because his heels didn't seem to have been enough next to Jiang Cheng. Lan Wangji's magically changing height doesn't seem to bother Jiang Cheng. He will be fine with three centimetres smaller Lan Wangji, three centimetres taller Lan Wangji, and Lan Wangji wearing heeled boots to appear taller. He will have to carry him when his little feet hurt, though. Do not go Sunshooting in heels.

Alas, the necessary heartbreak for such legendary love stories! Lan Wangji watched Jiang Cheng return from his confession scene to Wen Qing. Don't be sad, Lan Wangji, he came back to you! The disciples in the back cannot believe the audacity of Jiang Zongzhu giving a comb to somebody else. Bless them being on our side!

The episode then follows our heroes on their travels around Yiling where mysterious murderings hinder the sightseeing but give us more shared looks and words and standing next to each other.

Jiang Cheng has also taught his disciples to bow properly to Lan Wangji and him at the same time, which is very gasp-worthy.

The climax of the Zhancheng episode is approaching, and Jiang Cheng can't wait. Lan Wangji can't quite wait either, touching Jiang Cheng. Lan Wangji often touches people. It is normal.

Zhancheng stake out Wen Zhuliu and Wen Chao from a rooftop spot. They are sitting delightfully close to peek into a tiny hole. Most likely, they just jumped up there without making much of a sound. But how did they find the delightfully useful hole? It's nice sometimes to think about them giving each other a leg-up and then wandering around the shingles in search of the hole. Maybe their shoulders touched.

In times of shock and disgust, find yourself a travelling companion to share the burden.

Sadly, our beloved Sunshooting with Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji episode comes to an end with a devastating break up. Sandu touched Lan Wangji's chest much like Lan Wangji's arm touched Jiang Cheng's chest before. The rift between them grows. Lan Wangji leaves. Jiang Cheng stands up for his family. There was never a happy ending here. But food was served to fight the sadness.

The (not) 3000 deaths at Nightless City and Wei Wuxian's responsibility in that

I don't know where I was going with this so it goes a little off the point but I think I managed to get through what I wanted. This is just a lot of rambling.

I see a lot of people in this fandom acusse Wei Wuxian of being a genocide bc of what happened in nightless city, as if he was the only responsable for the situation and didn’t die for it in the most gruesome way (sounds like the cultivation world right?). Wwx was indeed responsible for killing cultivators in nightless city, he himself acknowledges this, but at the same time he refuses to carry sins he didn't commit. Why that? We were told first thing that he killed 3,000 cultivators, but then someone else come and say that he actually killed 5,000 cultivatos. How can we know if either of those informations are correct? How can we trust this if we know all of the other things they said were false? The ppl who were at nightless city were elders, sect leaders and their best cultivators, and we see some of those same cultivators in the second siege in BM without a scratch. There were 3000 cultivators gathered in nightless city, but wwx didn't kill them all, but even so, he still killed a lot of people.

Now let's put some context. WWX has been invited to a family event at Koi Tower but is attacked without evidence in pacetime. A lot of people use Jin Zixuan's death to say that WWX is a murder, but that doesn't even make sense. There were 300 people trying to kill him and Jzx instead of ordering them to retract, decides to side with his cousin and demands Wwx to lower chengquing, even if he was the only one being attacked. Jzx starts arguing with Wwx and then launches against him in a moment when he was surrounded by enemies and in an extremely stressful state, Wwx reacts instinctively, just like someone who has gone through war and has an knee-jerk reaction against any sudden movement towards him, Wxx loses control over Wn and Jzx dies. ( This is the only innocent person Wwx kills directly out of war time, and I consider what happened before Jzx’s death as war )

Okay, recapitulating, so just like the Wens, the Jins too made a war move against someone who was living peacefully. But that's all erased by Jzx's death, so the Jins again demand a payment for that, which was Wq’s and Wn’s sacrifice, with the promise that the Wens remains wouldn’t be attacked. JGS somehow makes Wn lose control and kill a lot of people, and then blames Wwx for it (which doesn't even make sense, why would they give themselves up just to kill some people? Wwx was the most powerful cultivator, he could have had killed everyone there if he wanted without the need to send his two closest confidants to their deaths) and uses it as a excuse to gather many sects and plan an attack, ignoring the white flag given by the wens btothers, continuing to move towards war.

That's when Wwx arrives, his appearance was unexpected, they were planning a surprise attack ( I wonder if that had happened and the cultivators had invaded BM screaming for the wens’s blood and Wwx obligatorily defended himself killing all those people fandom would still consider him a murderer, cuz well, that's exactly what was going to happen, so these cultivators were going to die anyway ) so Wwx still tries to talk to them ( like at the Jin’s banquet, when he tries to talk to Jin Zixun but is ignored and then forced to use violence, or when Jin Zixun ambushes him and he still tries to be the voice of reason) but is directly attacked by an arrow aimed at his heart, which currently pierces him but misses a vital point because of bad aim, so he attacks back and the fight starts.

Wwx is a soldier and that was war, he was fighting to defend his people. How many innocent people were killed in the Sunshoot campaign? I'm sure not all soldiers agreed with Wen Rouhuan and were just following orders ( like those who helped Wn rescue Jc ) but they died anyway. In times of war no one stops being human, neither side is right or wrong you're just fighting to protect yourself, the only ones who deserve to die are the oppressors like Wen Rouhan and JGS. Some cultivators were there under orders from their superiors, or were manipulated by the Jins, they were ‘innocent’ ( as innocent as the wens soldiers who didn’t agreed w Wrh ) but complicit. The deaths caused by Wwx were his burden to deal with, but it's not just him who has to be held responsible for what happned, this fandom is used to seeing Wwx always take responsibility for everything and they think that's okay, but everyone there were adults like him and they knew that if they attacked BM they would meet resistance and many people would die just the same.

Yanli was also an adult who made her own decisions, it was her choice to go unarmed to an battlefield, it was her choice to sacrifice herself to save WWX, just like Wq did and I don't see anyone blaming Wwx for her death. After Jy’s death, Wwx loses control and starting killing indiscriminately, and in my opinion this was a lot like a QI deviation, except that DC is much more destructive.

He did kill a lot of people at nightless city, but it certanlly wasn’t 3000. He couldn’t just talk to these ppl bc they would not listen to him, no matter what. So what was he supposed to do? There was no other way for him to resolve this situation, and he didn’t even started the fight in the first place. He would not let the Wens die, he would not surrender to be killed and neither side would give up, bringing death for all. Every cutivator there knew they were at risk to be killed, either they wouldn’t be there planing an attack against the Yilling Patriach. They were fighting a war and in the end they died, the wens died and Wwx died. When he came back, he still held the responsability for what he did, for the people he killed, but no one other than him did that, bc the cultivation world couldn’t acknowledge they were wrong too and not the only victims of the hisotry 

Not all the cultivatos there were to blame for what the ones in power did. But just like them, the Wens remains too, could not be blamed fot he things Wen Rouhan did. The lifes of some are not worth more than the life of others but wwx could not let the life os the Wens be taken bc even under orders, they were going to kill the Wens anyway. And they all, those cultivators and Wwx, fought a war started by the Jins.

For another LZ/JC ask. Another plot twist, WY is in love with LZ since they were 15 and he didn't tell him because he know LZ hate him. After the Sunshoot Campaign happens and the Wens defeated, he plan to confess his love to LZ. One day JC told him that he plan to confess his love to LZ too and WY was surprised to hear it, he didn't tell JC that he was also in love with LZ, so he give him his smile and told JC to go and say it to LZ. He watch from afar and see LZ accepting JC love and marry.
