2024 Tumblr Top 10

Now I’m back from my Christmas getaway (and tucked up ill in my bed 🤧) I can belatedly do a wee retrospective of 2024!

After about 9 years of lurking on Tumblr, 2024 was the year I started throwing out random comments and opinions! 😊

Here’s my very mixed bag of a top 10…

1. Thai Marriage Equality - 18 June, 1775 Notes

On a historic day for Thailand Tong’s tweet perfectly captured just what this ruling meant 🎉

That day really was a beacon of hope in what was often a scary and uncertain year for many queer people around the world 😕

Only a few weeks to go until the ruling officially becomes law in Thailand!!! 💍🏳️‍🌈

2. Crazy July Watch List - 28 June, 392 Notes

Remember back in the summer when we were all drowning under a sea of QL???

July was particularly crazy!! In retrospect, this month had some good (Knock, Knock Boys 🤩), some bad (Sunset x Vibes 😂), and some very, very ugly (My Love Mix Up TH 🫣) series.

3. ForceBook Steal The Show! - 9 Oct, 366 Notes

ForceBook’s 10 minute cameo in Peaceful Property was one of the BL highlights of a pretty mixed offering from GMMTV this year.

After struggling through their P10L arc, I’m hoping that Melody of Secrets will finally provide the meaty roles ForceBook deserve!

4. Symmetry in The On1y One - 12 Sep, 331 Notes

This post was just a quick observation about the actors ages. Ben & Eric really delivered some of my favourite performances of the year!

But! Urgh this show! For 8 episodes this was one of my favourite series of the year… and then it all just fizzled out into nothing. Still salty about it!!!

5. The Toothbrush Trinity - 14 Jun, 317 Notes

In June GMMTV used this same trope across three different shows in the same week! 🪥🪥🪥

6. Tonkla Wants it Raw - 26 Jul, 304 Notes

4 Minutes left us with many, many questions each week. Why exactly Tonkla wanted to get fucked raw in EP1 was just one of them! 🍆💦

7. The Trainee is Self Aware - 8 Sep, 303 Notes

There were many good writing choices in The Trainee, and we all cheered when they deftly acknowledged the power imbalance in Jane and Ryan’s relationship 👏👏

We’ll just forget they pulled out this hated trope right at the end though! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

8. Give the Girls Poly!! - 14 Dec, 298 Notes

One episode left so it could still happen. Give us the GL throuple we deserve GMMTV!! 🤞🤞🤞

9. Dr Kao Deserves a Man!! - 8 Jun, 285 Notes

I think at one point we ALL wanted Luke’s character to end up with Dr Kao!

By the time Title showed up though, and Drake finally got his man, the writing on this series had annoyed me so much that I sadly no longer cared.

10. MinQ are realistically horny - 11 Oct, 268 Notes

Was Kidnap a good series? No not really, but this was a really great first kiss! I appreciated the fact that they wanted each other, and you could tell!

These really were some very random musings, but throwing them out into the Tumblrsphere has been fun!

I just started EP1 of Sunset x Vibes and AHHHHHHH What in The Sign graphics is this opening? 😂🙈 Mos is so fucking handsome... It's good so far and I'm really hoping it stays good MosBank deserve a good soft boys rom-com 😭😭

i h8 admitting this but sunset x vibes ep1 was actually kind of fun ... i still don't have faith that an office romance and reincarnated lovers story can coexist in a way that makes sense tonally but ... 😞 yeah ill come back for ep2 ...
