So the modern lesbian flag was made by combining the lipstick lesbian flag and the butch lesbian flag, yeah?

I've always felt SO SOUR that the top half of the lipstick lesbian flag was chosen, because if you do the bottom instead (and darken the light pink a bit to make it more even):

In case you didn't know, Emily Gwen — the creator of the 'sunset' lesbian flag — is mspec lesbian exclusionary. This isn't a call to stop using the flag; I hate flag discourse, and believe that if you like and feel represented by a flag, you should use it. However, I felt it necessary to make this post, so I did.

Radfem flags explained!

A guide for baby dykes and new radfems!

Labrys flag:

Pretty much the most popular lesbian flag that radfems use. It has a lot of historical significance I won't get into now. It's generally seen by others as a flag exclusively used by radfems and terfs but that's not really true.

Pink lesbian flag:

The second most common flag used by radfems. It is the lipstick flag just without the kiss. A lot of radfem lesbians prefer this flag because it is more well known but not inclusive like the sunset flag is.

Sunset flag:

This is the most well known lesbian flag but usually least used by radfems as it is trans and nonbinary inclusive.

Febfem flag:

Febfem means female exclusive bisexual female. This term is used by a lot of bisexual radfems because they either feel more comfortable/safer dating women and or simply refuse to date men (because we all know how men are) this flag is important to some because a lot of febfems don't want people to assume they date men when they use the bisexual flag (although some febfems use both flags or just the bisexual flag)

Radfem flag:

This flag is not very commonly used. It is just a general flag for radfems to use to showcase that they are a radfem. A lot of people find it pointless.

All the Sloths (Sunset Lesbian Flag) - Pride Sloths

I discovered in the making of this one that there are two versions of the Sunset Lesbian flag - one with five stripes and one with seven. And because apparently I like a challenge, I went for the seven…

Interested to hear if there's much distinction between the two in the community! The Queer Archive: Emily Gwen's lesbian flag

The modern form of and most commonly used variant of the lesbian flag as of 2024 was designed by Emily Gwen and rose to popularity during 2018. Considered to be a redesign or adaptation of the previous lesbian flag iteration, which is primarily pink.

Emily Gwen's design is noted to be inclusive of butch, nonbinary, and transgender lesbians.

Notice; Gwen is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns. Please be respectful.

June 2nd; Lesbian joy

Today is centering Lesbian queer joy! Two girlfriends, only vaguely related to my Day 1 of Mermay last year. Today i wanted to focus on sunset-y lighting, for the sunset Lesbian flag.

I want to include ponies in most, if not all, of the pride drawings (Partially as an excuse to post them here lol

i got to see the stonewall inn in person (!!!) and on the wall they have all these gay history facts and Emily Gwen is credited with creating the new lesbian flag.. which is so awesome but also Emily isn't. past history, they're here and broke and unemployed and need help...! i wonder if they see any money from being on the walls there/ from the stonewall inn gives back initiative

also i was in there for literally 30 seconds because it was packed like fucking sardines and even a gvs ellipse p100 wasn't gonna save me
