Poem #19 - Sun

All my life, sunny afternoons have made me feel sad in a weird way, I have a memory of when I was in third grade thinking about that feeling, that’s when I was 8, I am going to write a poem now to try and explain what they make me feel.

Once upon a time there a wish made by the sun To make memories in mortal skin and be an anyone When born as a human her memories she lost An afternoon she saw the sky and the body that glossed Both selves looked at each other and crossed

Here I see the smile of God and the gate of gold The endless blue extending a liminal world never told A bird flying forever to the endless horizon And invisible wind mazes, transparent veils above arisen

Here I am everywhere and at every time A train that sees all faces but uses no chime Through all corridors I walk on earth’s labyrinth Forgotten buildings shine when I touch each plinth

A restless explosion going to the end of time Scream I want for the loud is sublime! Compassing hug that nourishes this stem Warmth that heals these wounds with clem The light as anchor for up and down On this maze the railway will go around

Miss Death from afar will always smile Saying awareness is not an endless aisle But the earth will be my eternal playground For I am the sun and I’ll be crowned
