Now during the first dates, he’ll want to be cautious once he had actually mustered the guts to ask you out

So he’ll be sticking with the classics like asking you out to dinner, watch a movie, etc.

He’s bound to spice it up because he already knows about your faves a lot and just wants to make you the happiest in the world

Midnight dates

I can see him just visiting your room after he’s done with Spiderman duties and asks you out on a spontaneous date because he’s missed you

7 roses, eight letters, and the ninth of August. Brown eyes, messy hair and a guitar on your arm. That's how I remember us coming into bloom amidst that fading summer. Running towards you that late afternoon, you holding your arms open for me, I fell for you as the rain fell on us. The twinkle in your eye when I saw you smile that very first time, became my favourite sight. Everything changed in a single heartbeat. I wished to drown myself within you. I wished to become a part of your being, and you said you wished the same. You said you wanted to consume me, make me you, change me for the better and I should have seen it all then. But I didn't. Because why would you need me to be better for you to love me? Why wouldn't you let me breathe? Why wouldn't you let me spread my roots? Why wouldn't you let my heart nourish beside you?

You know angel numbers and black t-shirts still remind me of you. It's funny how much of a person lingers even when they disappear. You told me you liked sunflowers when you saw them on my laptop background and I didn't change my wallpaper till the second night after you left. Yellow has never been the same since then and now I can't explain to my sister why it hurts to talk about my favourite song that mentions those silly flowers.

I have been keeping a mental note of days since we ended. Not willingly. It just happens now. I wish I could stop it but I don't seem to be able to figure out how. Every day I count one forward like shuffling a calendar page. I don't know what is the point of it. What do I get from knowing exactly how many months and weeks and days it has been since that wretched day. Yet I still do it. I wish I didn't. It's like I'm still holding on to you somehow, and I need to loosen my grip over those habits and memories you've left behind, But my heart is still fighting me.

Heart. let's talk about the heart. It's such a cruel little thing. It makes you feel so much more than you could ever bear. so treacherous. It runs without your rules, on its own beat. You can never win over it. Somedays I wish I could pull it out of my chest and just fucking breathe. For once to exist without the ever-heavy weight of feelings weighing me down. It feels like it's choking me from within. For once I wish to silence this prison it has created in my chest. This heaviness that follows me everywhere I go.

Tell me would I become less me if I got rid of it? Tell me will everyone come to hate me without it? or rather, would I come to hate myself? more than I already do? is that even possible? I don't know. I know nothing. I never knew anything. But I asked you to make it make sense for me one time and you laughed it off, and I wept that entire night.

You don't feel people burning your soul when you're burning with passion. You start to forgive too much. You start to ignore too much. You start to disappear too much. and then one look at them and you whisper to your heart that it's worth it. Because their eyes are still bright, never mind the hollowness of your own. It's them and only them.

You know there's no one reason for how it went wrong. That bugs me so much because I like to know things. I like to objectively discern situations and figure out the problem but I can't seem to figure out us even when I've tried countless times. Your lies poked into my chest like a hundred daggers and you know what I thought? That you'll see me bleeding one day and stop. You plunged your insecurities so deep within me that my self-esteem is a carcass on the floor even months after you've left. It's just bruises and blood everywhere and I should have known that people pretend that they don't see the violence that they inflict on others. Yet I thought you'll see me hurting one day and you'd save me. I thought you'd save us.

I never want to hurt someone like you hurt me. It's my biggest fear. Someone told me recently that you're hurting my heart and I felt like I've been slapped across my face. I thought I should kill myself for being this cruel. Because how dare I. How dare any human be that selfish.

Tell me because how do I get rid of these fears you've instilled within me. Tell me because you seem to have picked and patched yourself up. There's no manual to mending your shattered existence. I wish there was. I wish this was all mechanical. I wish this was easy. I wish I could fix this.

I don't know why I am writing all this today. Actually, I do. I wanted to say goodbye. Because we technically never said that to each other. Remember that time when you told me that you wish to see the sun setting from the top of the mountains? That was the last time we had a meaningful conversation. I had already started feeling us disintegrating by then, but I would have never admitted it out loud. Because that made it so much more real and I was so scared to let you go. I remember wanting to tell you all that went through my mind, to confess all my deepest fears, to tell you to stop and look at me and save us from falling apart but I kept my mouth shut because I didn't want to acknowledge that we needed fixing. I wish I did. Maybe we would be somewhere else if I had. Maybe we wouldn't have needed a goodbye then.

I promised someone that I'm gonna let you go. that I'll stop this game of watching you from afar that I've been playing since you went. I don't know why. Maybe I just needed a reason to finally do it. That final nudge. Well, I have got it now despite always thinking that I never will. I wish you'd remember me though. It's selfish of me perhaps but I do wish it. I wish you'll think of me when you play our song on that guitar. I wish you'll think of my wallpaper whenever you see sunflowers. I wish you'll hear my voice in your head telling you to make a wish at every 11.11. I wish you'll smile whenever you wear black.

And I also wish that you heal. I don't know why I wish it. For all, I know you've already forgotten it all and these things mean nothing to you but I do wish very sincerely. I can't move forward with anger coursing within me so I'm trying to let you go without any grudges in my heart. Yes, the same treacherous heart.
