Sun was outside Blake's house, holding a bouquet. Jaune stood next to him, holding his guitar.

Jaune: So why am I here exactly?

Sun: Because I can't play the guitar. And besides, Neptune's busy.

Jaune Arc hummed to the music playing in his ears, writing down names to try out for battle plans. Walking up behind him, Weiss sat down and looked over his shoulder. On the other side, Ruby sat down and watched him, too. From above, in the tree, Blake and Yang watched his pencil dance across the page, sometimes in short skirt, other times in long strides.

As Jaune continued his work, more and more girls drew near, with some men also joining in the buzz. Jaune didn't hear any of it. He was too busy listening to some calming music using his earbuds connected to his scroll. It helped him relax, helped him think. However, it also dulled his senses, blinding him to the 100-plus individuals who were surrounding him.

As Ren and Sun watched with bated breath, only one question hung in the air to be answered.

Yang: So, did y'all meet before initiation or?

Sun: Neptune's a friend i made in Vacuo. As for Ash, maybe a week or two before initiation? She wasn't supposed to be in our team, Scarlet had a friend he wanted to be partner with, but i found her ripping a beowolf to shreds with a dagger.

Yang: Ah! That reminds me of Jaune, he- *remember what happened in forever fall and sigh* Nevermind.

Ash: *hearing the name Jaune* What did he do?

Yang: *scratching nervously the back of her neck* W-well, he's a good guy, really! And i like him... *Blush* N-not like-like him, but you know know, right? A-anyway, we kinda saw him fight and-

Yang: Of what we heard, they were asking him to hurt his team. Razor wasp or something. We came in the middle of the conversation. We were going to help but...

Sun: He took the initiative?

I whole heartedly believe Yang was so glad sun went with Blake to wherever she was going because Blake “hasn’t slept or eaten in three days to catch one bad guy” belladonna cannot be left alone with an injury she will NOT take care of it properly

Also considering it’s framed as Blake left as soon as she was physically able and sun had to follow right behind her he probably wasn’t the one to tell Yang Blake left he’s just who informed everyone she left I like to think Weiss maybe got to wait till Yang woke up before she got dragged away by her dad or it was ren and Nora

I love that RWBY are like the face of the world defending itself because those are like THE most mentally ill children you should not be letting them make decisions but whatever it’s funny and the worlds ending anyway

Shen: Terrible. Why did we have to get sick a week before Christmas?!

Sita: Yeah! I wanted to help daddy with fhe tree! *pouts*

Sita: But I really wanted to do it this year!

Blake: Hmmmm. *snaps fingers* How about I tell you two a story?

Sita: Ooooh!

[Vale City - 13 years ago]

Sun and Blake wrapped their arms around each other as they walked down the street. Blake was really excited to show Sun Avalon Park.

Blake: Come on! Hurry up!

Sun: Alright, I'm coming. *chuckles* I've never seen you this excited before. What's going on?

Blake: You'll see!

As Blake and Sun carried on, snow started falling from the sky and decorated Vale in a beautul white landscape. The closer the two of them got to Avalon Park, the more crowded it seemed to become. Blake grumbled as she struggled to move through.

Blake: Damn it!

Sun: It's okay, babe. Whatever it is, we can see it tomorrow.

Blake: No! It has to be today. *spots tree* Hold on! Sun, let's climb up that tree!

Sun: Wait- aaaaaagh!!! *dragged by Blake*

Sun's arm was nearly pulled from his socket as Blake sprinted to the closest tree. She hastily climbed up and Sun followed. He was about to ask her what was going on until he heard the crowd cheering. He turned around and saw that the Silver Tree had been decorated... and it looked absolutely beautiful. Hanging among the branches were wonderful Christmas ornaments, each one a statue based on Vale's most revered Huntsmen and Huntresses. Chief among them was Nicholas the Merry, wearing a red suit and white beard. Sun's jaw was wide open with glee, making Blake smile.

Sun: Wow... this is magnificent.

Blake: *smiles* I told you you'd like it. *holds his hand* Merry Christmas, Sun.

Sun: Merry Christmas, Blake.

As the crowd continued cheering, Sun and Blake leaned in and kissed each other lovingly.

[Present day]

Blake: And that's what happened.

Sita: Wow! That was a great story, mom!

Shen: I'll say!

Blake: *laughs* I'll say. This time of year is always special to me. It's the time when your father told me that he loved me. *blushes*

[Downstairs]

Sun: There we go!

Sun stood back as he gazed at is masterpiece; a fully decorated Christmas Tree.

Sun: And God said 'let there be light!'
