Sun was outside Blake's house, holding a bouquet. Jaune stood next to him, holding his guitar.

Jaune: So why am I here exactly?

Sun: Because I can't play the guitar. And besides, Neptune's busy.

Jaune: Hmmm, I dunno if it's a good idea. It's pretty late. What if Blake gets mad?

Sun: This always works in the movies. Come on, bro, help me out. Pleeeeeease?

Jaune: *sighs* Okay. *starts strumming guitar* 🎵We used to be giants, when did we stop? Just say the word and I'll be yours. You know I never forgot.🎵

Sun: 🎵The hope and the hurt has lived inside of me. But there's gold in the dirt I never took the time to see. But I knew of its worth when you walked beside of me and my hand fit in yours like a bird would find the breeze.🎵

Sun: Hehe, *blushes* so, uh, did you like the song?

Blake: I loved it. *walks up to Sun and wraps her arms around his shoulders* Thank you, Sun.

Sun: *kisses Blake*

Blake: *kisses Sun*

Jaune: Hold on a minute. If you're out here, then who's inside?

Kali: *opens window* Hiiiiiiiii~

Sun: M-Mrs Belladonna?

Jaune: ....oh crap.

Blake: *tries to stifle laugh*

Not So Sweet Surprise

Sun took a deep breath, staring up at the Belladonna house.  He had thought about turning around and running, tail between his legs, but he was determined to marry Blake.  He chewed the inside of his cheek, thinking.  Before he could stop himself, his hand rose and took the doorknocker, slamming it against the wood twice.  The loud and eerie sound unnerved him, but it was too late.

The door opened, revealing Kali.  He breathed a sigh of relief, glad Ghira hadn’t answered the door.

“Hey, Mrs. B.”  He greeted.

“Sun?  What are you doing here?  Not that I’m not glad to see you.”

“Well, I was wondering if I could talk to you and your husband.”

Kali opened her mouth to respond, but it wasn’t her voice that Sun heard. “About what?”  Ghira’s voice entered the discussion, nearly scaring Sun half to death.  His eyes widened, and he stiffened like a board.

“Sir!  I was just- I was going- I was wondering- I was hoping-”

“Spit it out, man!”  Ghira ordered.

“IwaswonderingifIcouldmarryyourdaughter!”  He blurted out.  Ghira and Kali shared a look.

“One more time.”  Ghira instructed.  Sun opened his mouth.  “Slowly.”  He clarified.  Sun took a deep breath.

“I was wondering if I could marry your daughter.”  He spoke more slowly, though he still sounded uneasy and he looked like the slightest movement from Ghira would send him running.  Kali’s face held a grin, while Ghira’s remained mostly stoic.  If Sun were being honest with himself, he wanted to die.  The silence was tense, which Kali seemed to notice.

“Why don’t you come in, dear?”  She offered, gently grabbing his arm and pulling him inside.  Sun hesitantly followed, but quickened his pace, feeling Ghira’s cold eyes burning holes in the back of his head.

Once inside, Kali set him down at the table, and went to get some tea going.  Sun followed after her, afraid to be left alone with her husband.  He did his best to stay out of the way, while she got some snacks around, until she was finished and took the tray out to the table.  They sat down, Sun sitting as far away from Ghira as possible, in case he needed a running start.  Kali broke the deafening silence.

“Why don’t you start at the beginning?”  She urged softly.  Sun inhaled a deep breath.

“Okay, so I was on a ship, being chased by some of the shipmates.  I ran off, and passed your daughter, Blake, and-”

“Not that beginning, Mr. Wukong.”  Ghira interrupted.  Sun swallowed thickly.

“Right.”  He managed to get out.  “Well Blake’s just amazing.  She’s smart, fun, caring, considerate, really good at everything she does, determined, persistent, and she’s got the nicest eyes I’ve ever seen…”  He trailed off, a far-away look in his eyes.  Ghira and Kali shared a look.  Kali nodded and Ghira sighed.

“Well it sounds like you truly love her.”  Ghira noted.  Sun was brought back to the real world and looked at the large man.  “You have our blessing.”

Sun’s grin in that moment could put the actual sun to shame.  “Thank you!  I can’t even express-“

“But if you do anything to hurt her, you will wish you’d never been born.”  He warned.  Kali rolled her eyes, remembering that those were the exact words her father had told Ghira.  It clearly intimidated him, so he decided to re-use it.

Sun nodded vigorously, his grin only faltering slightly.  Nothing Ghira could say would upset him at this point.  He quickly rose to his feet and hugged Kali, who laughed and patted his back.  Sun moved to Ghira, but before he could wrap his arms around him, Ghira spoke.

“Don’t push your luck.”

Sun simply nodded before turning and running out the door, letting out little shouts of victory.  Ghira and Kali walked to the door, watching him disappear behind buildings.  Kali looked up to her husband, who had a small, fond smile on his face.  Kali smiled softly, kissing her husband on the cheek before disappearing back inside.

Within Dire Times (BlackSun) 🌒

Summary: Blake takes a moment to step away and struggles to bring her feelings to words. Sun only wants to be there, even if it means he can't do anything except be present.

Rating: Teen

When times come to be dire, there is no place like home.

Or so thought Blake Belladonna.

Her hopes were to isolate from the rest of the world, from the issues that came and went like the flow of the sea in her homeland.

And now, here she was.

When her thoughts became so loud, so oppressive, so uncertain, she did not know.

Blake settled herself in the humid warmth of the harbor. She leaned over the worn metal railing of the port, her skin prickling from the cold metal, watching the crimson sun descend in the distance. It was no lie that she missed home, but to be back here, with no plan and no idea what came next was a lot for one person to handle. She wondered if she had done the right thing to come back. But she wanted nothing more than to be in the presence of home.

And once again, here she was.

If she focused hard enough on the setting sun, she could see the gentle progress it made on its descent. The waves broke against the port, crashing gently below her boots. In those small moments, it felt like nothing mattered.

“Mind a friend?” A familiar voice approached from behind, his sunny hair sweeping over from the incoming wind off the busy sea.

So I've been bored/running ideas in my head lately......

I know, that's dangerous coming from me - especially considering how I can start and then go on and on about a topic (see my post on my fanon history for Smokescreen for an idea.) That said, ever since I've started watching RWBY, I've been hooked, though I will be stopping after Volume 4 as I've heard...let's say mixed opinions on the show's writing after the fourth installment's conclusion. Because I've been hooked, I've also noticed that some characters - in particular Mercury Black, my favorite character outside of the main and side characters - were underutilized, in my own personal opinion. That, in addition to my fixation on Transformers, has led me to this crackpot idea:

RWBY x Transformers Partnerships.

What is this, you may ask? It's Blade saying, "What if there was a crossover between these two franchises I love and, more specifically, who would bond with who in a hypothetical crossover?"

I know it's been done before, but I mostly want to just pit characters together for the sake of fun, especially since life has been a bit much lately. So to unwind - and pass around some fun - I'm going to be starting a series of RWBY characters buddied up with Transformers characters.

Of course, that also means I have to set the stage for how this would all work. I'll summarize it as best I can, and leave open enough doors that things won't be too convoluted, or have too little substance to be able to feasibly work.

In a twist on Volume 2, I would have Mercury be used by Cinder to get close and learn about Team RWBY and gather info from them. However, he and Ruby would hit it off, and over time, Mercury would grow to care about her and the team before he'd defect - with the added benefit of having Pyrrha not only survive, but also be pushed on to the path to becoming the Fall Maiden.

Now, shortly after the Fall of Beacon, and before Ruby wakes up, I would have had Watts working with...let's say Team BRIR and Bram Thornmane (yes, I did research on relatively obscure characters connected to a RWBY game) to develop an interdimensional portal. Who knows what it was for, but Salem gave him this job, so he may as well do it, right? Well, turns out, in a Transformers: Prime-styled universe, the Autobots and Miko (see here for details that will be carried over to my mad little crossover) are in a battle with the Decepticons when - an ancient Cybertronian artifact, I suppose - activates at the same time Watts' machine does. The two groups are sucked through the wormhole, and are practically scattered across the world of Remnant, but because the CCT is down, hardly anyone realizes that Something is amiss.

And so the story begins!

Now, I'm sure I'll be asked about this, so I'll say it right now: the ship QuickSilver (Mercury x Ruby) will be a subtle part of this series, as well as Combat Goggles and BlackSun. I'm not the biggest fan of RoseGarden (having Oscar sharing living space with Ozpin gives me a major case of squick), and if I'm being honest, I love the idea of Ruby's purity pulling Mercury out of the darkness his father drowned him in. I also adopted love Mercury as a character, and his potential just screams at me to be recognized. Combat Goggles is another I love for how they interact in that one episode in Volume 2, and I can see Neptune with Yang more easily than with Weiss (plus I can't find that much content for them, so I gotta do it myself.) And BlackSun, while it isn't my favorite, I do love a good ship of Brooding Girl and Sunshine Boy in stories, so it's staying. And as a Hummingbird shipper/Qrow is Ruby's dad theorizer, I will be making references to that as well.

If this turns anyone off, I apologize. This is done primarily to satisfy my own wants, and to just goof around and find my favorite 'Bots friends from Remnant. If you are interested, though, welcome to RWBY x Transformers Partnerships! Let's have fun together!

i hate that people say that blake was never interested (romaticly) in sun and vice versa. is a) bisexual erasure and b) is denying one of my favorite writing choices the show made that is a person can be interested in more one person and it doesn't have to be a thing, and that they don't get together not for they not being right for each other but cos life push them in diferent directions and again thats ok!!

RWBY Christmas Tales

Sniffles

Shen: Atchoo!!! *sneezes loudly*

Sita: *coughs loudly* Oh god, my throat...

Blake: *opens bedroom door* Hey sweeties. How are feeling?

Shen: Terrible. Why did we have to get sick a week before Christmas?!

Sita: Yeah! I wanted to help daddy with fhe tree! *pouts*

Blake: It's alright. You can help him next year.

Sita: But I really wanted to do it this year!

Blake: Hmmmm. *snaps fingers* How about I tell you two a story?

Sita: Ooooh!

Shen: Okay. *leans in*

Blake: It's about your father and I's first Christmas.

[Vale City - 13 years ago]

Sun and Blake wrapped their arms around each other as they walked down the street. Blake was really excited to show Sun Avalon Park.

Blake: Come on! Hurry up!

Sun: Alright, I'm coming. *chuckles* I've never seen you this excited before. What's going on?

Blake: You'll see!

As Blake and Sun carried on, snow started falling from the sky and decorated Vale in a beautul white landscape. The closer the two of them got to Avalon Park, the more crowded it seemed to become. Blake grumbled as she struggled to move through.

Blake: Damn it!

Sun: It's okay, babe. Whatever it is, we can see it tomorrow.

Blake: No! It has to be today. *spots tree* Hold on! Sun, let's climb up that tree!

Sun: Wait- aaaaaagh!!! *dragged by Blake*

Sun's arm was nearly pulled from his socket as Blake sprinted to the closest tree. She hastily climbed up and Sun followed. He was about to ask her what was going on until he heard the crowd cheering. He turned around and saw that the Silver Tree had been decorated... and it looked absolutely beautiful. Hanging among the branches were wonderful Christmas ornaments, each one a statue based on Vale's most revered Huntsmen and Huntresses. Chief among them was Nicholas the Merry, wearing a red suit and white beard. Sun's jaw was wide open with glee, making Blake smile.

Sun: Wow... this is magnificent.

Blake: *smiles* I told you you'd like it. *holds his hand* Merry Christmas, Sun.

Sun: Merry Christmas, Blake.

As the crowd continued cheering, Sun and Blake leaned in and kissed each other lovingly.

[Present day]

Blake: And that's what happened.

Sita: Wow! That was a great story, mom!

Shen: I'll say!

Blake: *laughs* I'll say. This time of year is always special to me. It's the time when your father told me that he loved me. *blushes*

[Downstairs]

Sun: There we go!

Sun stood back as he gazed at is masterpiece; a fully decorated Christmas Tree.

Sun: And God said 'let there be light!'
