don't call me names if you're going to bring to my attention the shitty things other drivers have done, i only mentioned daniel because he hasn't grown out of his mindset (making misogynistic comments in 2023), whereas lewis seems to have grown out of his from 2015. max's racist and ableist comments about stroll i know about and i have stated that i do not like max for the person he is, that is part of the reason why i don't like max. i respect his driver's stats, but i would not want to meet him if i ever go to an f1 race.

charles i don't like either, i know he's pretty damn removed from the political sphere and i didn't know he got endorsed by italy's right wing party (did hear about him liking anti BLM tweets prior to you bringing this to my attention), and i know he hangs out with noah schnapp, so really, that's the litmus test on where he stands. you don't see much praise from me about him if you took a minute to go through the driver's tags on my page. i definitely don't want to meet charles, and as much as i thirst over carlos, i wouldn't want to meet him either since his family has a lot of ties to the right wing.

genuine thanks for the info, i don't idolize lewis and i think the work he's doing is excellent, but do not insult me in my inbox when i mention a shit behavior that occurred in 2023 while the other drivers' shit behavior has occurred in the previous years (whether or not they seem to have learned and actively seeking out to change their behavior is a case-by-case basis. lewis, by what he is doing, seems to have changed. max and charles got a little smarter about what they say to people and what they like on twitter, though charles should probably keep any interaction with noah schnapp offline)

then again, i did block you because you cannot handle me solely calling out the driver who's probably your fave being misogynistic in the year of 2023. get fucked, nonnie, because now i don't care about daniel anymore (i used to like him, then the 2023 season happened and now i could care less. his stans can go foam at the mouth about it)

and one final reminder: i don't idolize any of the drivers. most of the drivers don't have an education in politics or activism, and i don't require them to be (though, lewis is currently the only one being an activist on the grid and that's not fair to him. he's the one driver that i can definitely say that he's the activist whereas the other ones i would struggle to name a charity they donate to). i would rather the drivers don't say anything on where they lean or they take their own time to learn and educate themselves about the world we live in. but in the case of daniel - who went on to a podcast on his own whim to laugh along and perpetuate misogynistic takes as f1 academy was just announced to be live streamed - maybe they should educate themselves a little more

“I’m never having kids. Nope.” An 18-year-old Y/n said to Y/b/f as she scrunched up her nose. “It’s too much of a burden and I have enough of that on my mind.”

Y/b/f sighed, knowing full well about the burden on Y/n mind. They’ve been childhood best friends and it was fascinating to see Y/n turn from a bubbly girl to someone who struggles so much to get out of bed.

“Well, you never know. Maybe you’ll meet someone special?”

Y/n let out a mix of a laugh and scoff at Y/b/f’s words. She picked at her chipped nails as a smile appeared on her lips. “Yeah, right. Sure.”

It wasn’t until 5 months later when Y/n was finally out in the city after spending a few months in a mental health center. She was strolling the city streets, a small smile on her face as the spring sun warmed her skin.

She noticed a deep blue butterfly fluttering in front of her, seemingly leading her down the sidewalk. She was so distracted by the butterfly that she didn’t realize a man walking right towards her.

Suddenly, the two collided. Before Y/n could even brace for impact and the possibility of hitting the ground, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. “Are you okay?”

She glanced up and was met with one of the most beautiful brown eyes she’d ever seen. She opens her mouth for a split second but immediately closes it when she realizes the butterfly she was previously watching is fluttering around them. His voice interrupted her thoughts when he repeated the question, slowly removing his hands from her.

“Yes, yes! Sorry.” Y/n said in a panic, her face heating up from the situation. She awkwardly laughed as she tucked her hair behind her ear. “I was just distracted by that butterfly. It was all my fault really.” She responded and gestured towards the blue butterfly that was flapping away.

His eyes followed hers and he caught a glimpse of the butterfly. “Understandable, it’s quite beautiful.” He chuckled before glancing back at her, “Much like yourself.”

She couldn’t help but giggle. Actually, giggle. A sound she hadn’t heard come from her for months. She couldn’t believe that a random man she bumped into somehow made her feel 10 times better than she felt just the week prior.

She stuck her hand out with a smile, “I’m Y/n.”

He happily shakes her hand and his lips curled into a smile, “Guanyu.”

“Are you sure you’ll be fine on your own with her?”

“I’m her father, Y/n. We’ll be fine!” Guanyu exclaims with a smile, holding an 8-month-old baby girl in his arms. “You need a rest day and what better way to rest than to have a girl's day with Y/b/f?”

Y/n let out a sigh of relief before gently squishing her daughter's cheek. Her straight black hair was in a little ponytail that stuck straight up with a butterfly clip to match her name, Hudie, the word for butterfly in Chinese.

It was only fitting since the only reason why Y/n and Guanyu met was because she was so distracted by a butterfly. When the pair found out they were having a girl, there were no other name options.

She sighs, grabbing her daughter from her husband's arm to tightly hug her. Despite Hudie being 8 months old, Y/n still hadn’t spent time without her and the thought of not being around her daughter made her anxious.

Guanyu noticed her worry and chuckled as he gently rubbed her shoulder. “I’ll send you pictures later if that helps with your anxiety.” He offered. He smiled when he saw her quickly nod before handing back her daughter to him.

“Y/b/f’s waiting, I should go,” Y/n said before leaning forward and sharing a kiss with Guanyu. “Have a fun day with our little butterfly.” She reached over to poke her daughter's belly before grabbing her bag

“And you have a fun and relaxing day with Y/b/f, okay, love?” He called out, watching her put her shoes on at the entrance of the door.

“I’ll be back soon! I love you!”

“We love you!”

When Y/b/f saw Y/n finally exit her home, she wore a smile on her face. She knew exactly why it took her so long to leave.

“I’m never having kids.” Y/b/f said in a mocking tone as her best friend entered her car.

Y/n scoffs and playfully rolls her eyes. “Oh, shut up!”

“5 years ago, you would’ve laughed if I told you that you were hesitant to leave your daughter and husband to hang out with me.”

She playfully rolls her eyes again in response, tuning her friend out as she watches her pull out of the driveway. Y/b/f was right though. She never would’ve imagined her life to be like how it was.

Y/n never would’ve imagined that she’d marry the cute guy she bumped into. She never would’ve imagined that years later, she was happy and no longer struggling with depression. She never would’ve imagined that she would have a carbon copy of her husband and enjoy the sound of her laughter.

None of it could have been possible without Guanyu, who turned her dark gloomy days into sunshine-filled and joyful from the moment she met him due to being distracted from the blue butterfly. He showed her what happiness truly was. He showed her that happiness is a butterfly.

as one of the unofficial fashion moguls in the paddock, it was your job to serve face whenever you appeared in the paddock. the sound of paparazzi camera shutters clicking were almost always a sure sign that you were near. 

today, you entered the paddock hand-in-hand with your boyfriend zhou. he, of course, was dressed to the nines next to you. your baggy parachute pants paired with a tight cutout top and zhou’s baggy jeans with an almost see-through mesh top looked like the pinnacle of haute couture streetwear. 

you smile directly at the cameras following you both, sending a small wave at a man dutifully taking what looked to be at least twenty pictures of you per second. continuing down the paddock, you stop a few times in order for zhou to sign a few pieces of merch. you adjust your slim sunglasses on the bridge of your nose to hide your eyes from the blazing hot texas sun. as you pass the vcarb motorhome, you spot daniel ricciardo dressed in a cowboy outfit. he clicks his tongue and sends finger guns to you and zhou when you walk by.

zhou leans towards you and whispers into your ear, “baby, we should have dressed more like that, for cota!” 

you turn to face him, wrinkling your nose. “no way am i ditching my outfit for cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, zhou!” you tilt your head, looking at him with a questioning look. “i mean, would you rather wear that or the outfit that marc jacobs sent you tomorrow?”

he sends you a chagrin smile. “point proven, i guess.”

before you could continue your walk, a snow white samoyed bolts out the mercedes motorhome next door. it sniffs zhou twice before plopping itself in down. lewis runs out of the motorhome a second later, skidding to a stop next to the dog. 

“holy cow, you need to calm down,” he says pointedly to the dog. he bends, hand on his knees, panting. “i’m getting old, and i swear im not going to be able to catch you anymore!”

the dog shoots lewis a look, as if rolling its eyes. lewis looks up, as if just noticing you two standing if front of him. 

“well, if it isn’t the best dressed couple on the grid,” he says, chuckling. he scans both of you up and down. “nice outfits, by the way! i think you two are possibly the only people that can outdress me.” 

“thanks!” zhou replies. “i honestly think you are still the undisputed fashion icon of the paddock, though.” 

you nod, agreeing. 

“why thanks!” lewis says, beaming. he then glances at his watch, and frowns. “oh shit,” he says, “i think fp1 is starting soon! i gotta go. you guys should probably run to the garages too.” he waves at you both and starts sprinting away, samoyed at his side.

“you ready to go?” your boyfriend asks, smiling at you. 

you take a second to fix your sunglasses again, and give him a quick nod. zhou grabs your manicured hand, and you both dash towards the kick sauber garage.

“omg, wait for me!” your boyfriend shouts, hands still on the driver’s wheel. but, you had already leaped out of the barely stopped alfa romero 33 stradale, clutching your snakeskin birkin.

the sun had already set in the texas sky, painting everything with a dark blue haze, including the white car that you had just jumped out of. by the time zhou had turned off the engine and hopped out of the car, you were already in front of the convenience store, giddy with excitement. he lightly jogs to you, briefly turning his body to lock the alfa romero with the car key lob. you press a light kiss on his cheek when he arrives next to you. 

after getting a pretty good result in both fp1 and fp2, you had promised zhou that you would both go on a run store, pick out a ton of snacks, then go back to the hotel to watch a movie and possibly “celebrate,” if you get my drift. unfortunately, after multiple meetings and an unplanned dinner with valtteri, it was too late to go to any normal store, so the next best choice was the convenience store that was open 24 hours. 

you grab his hand and run into the store, dragging zhou behind you. you walk past the candy aisle, hot dog warmers, and stunned cashier, arriving at the chips aisle. the colorful packages jump out at you, advertising for you to “face the intensity” or warning you that it was “dangerously cheesy.” 

“which one should should we choose, zhou?” you ask, turning to him. he too, is looking through the wide variety of snacks in front of him. 

after a few seconds of pondering, a grin spreads across his face. “my trainer is probably going to kill me, but all of them!” 

after fetching a big basket from the front of the store, you and zhou fill it to the brim with different kinds of chips. next, you walk over to the drinks area. both of you choose your favorite drinks, all the while giggling at the blue printed pictures of checo and max on the redbull cans on the shelf. 

your boyfriend walks over the cashier counter with the basket with the snack and is about to start checking out, when you spot the slurpee machine in the corner of the store. 

“zhou, come look! they have the famed slurpees here!” you exclaim, pointing at the thrumming machines stirring brightly colored concoctions. 

“i know we have a few drinks in the cart, but we should totally get some,” he says, looking at the bright letters spelling out SLURPEE.

you nod in agreement, and grab a cup from the row of cup bottoms sticking out from under the counter. when you hold up a cup, your eyes grow the size of saucers. “there is no fucking way. this cup holds fucking 22oz of liquid and it is only the second largest size there is!” you cry. you look next to you, and sure enough, zhou is holding a cup that says MEGA on the side that holds 40oz of liquid. he laughs at your reaction, but starts laughing even harder when he spots another cup to the right of you. it has bubble lettering spelling out DOUBLE GULP on the side, and it holds a whopping 50oz of liquid. 

after a laughing fit and a slurpee overflow mishap, you both walk to the counter to check out all your snacks. 

the cashier, still stunned, slowly scans the mountain of snacks next to him. gathering up his courage, he looks at the two of you shyly. “you’re zhou guanyu and you’re his girlfriend, right? i’m a really big fan of you both and i always love your paddock outfits.” 

zhou thanks the cashier, and you give him a warm smile in appreciation. 

after bagging the snacks, you and zhou load everything into the trunk of the alfa romero. it looks out of place next to the few battered chevy pickup trucks still in the lot at the dead of night. instead of climbing into the car after,  you and zhou take your giant slurpees and a few bag of snacks and sit on the edge of the sidewalk. from an outsider walking by, you both looked like a typical couple, (albeit very fashionably dressed one at that) with zhou’s arm around you and your head on his shoulders. 

later, when your tongues are stained with blue and you brush chip crumbs off of your baggy parachute pants, you find yourself looking at the plaza opposite of the convenience store. zhou, strolling back to you from throwing away the empty chip bags and melted slurpees, nudges your shoulder.

“watcha looking at?” 

you gesture with your head towards the store on the other side of the street, where a sign blares in bright red, “Pet Shop.” 

he shoots you a smile tinted with blue food coloring and takes your hand in his.

right as you enter, you are pulled by zhou into a random aisle. 

“wha-?” you splutter out as he continues to pull you down the walkway. your voice echoes throughout the deserted shop. that’s when you notice the products around you. pet clothes. you recognize his intent immediately. “absolutely not, baby,” you declare disgustedly, pulling against his grip. “those cheap costumes are not going an inch near me.”

“come on,” zhou says, trying to reason with you. “it’s not that bad!” 

he points to a little cowboy outfit on the sea of costumes, that has a little red hat, blue bandana along with four little cowboy booties. “perfect for cota, no?” 

you glare at him.

you find yourself in front of a horde of photographers and camera people the next morning when you arrive in the paddock. zhou adjusts you in his arms, tilting the red cowboy hat in a fashionable way and tightening the bandana on your neck while also smoothing down his brown leather jacket. you let out an oink as a sign of appreciation. you know what, you think contently, this outfit is starting to grow on me.

a reporter, holding a mic out, approaches you both. “martin brundle, for sky sports. excellent drive yesterday, for fp1 and fp2 yesterday, zhou. also, you and your erm- teacup pig here, fantastic outfits. may i ask, who is the designer behind her outfit for today? is it perhaps ralph lauren? or tom ford?"

charles leclerc: gets the whole ferrari team to take turns looking after the worm. there’s a care roster and a motivational talk and everything. you become not charles’s worm but the ferrari worm. he posts a really cool social media story about “my journey looking after the worm.” you are loved, if a bit haphazardly.

max verstappen: “do i have time to keep a worm? probably not. but i will get someone to get you a decent box i guess. sorry if my cats eat you.”

oscar piastri: “no. you’re a worm.”

lando norris: professes his love and says “of course i would, babe”. only to be away so much on holiday or busy on track that you eventually perish in your enclosure

lewis hamilton: yes and will get you the most beautiful box with all sorts of fronds and ferns. he will build you the cutest little jungle gym of mind-enriching worm activities. you will see him about once a year but he will make sure you’re always fed and happy. he will help raise awareness of worms in their ecosystems all over the planet

carlos sainz: actually is very good at keeping the worm/you alive but is thrown for a loop because charles and lewis are all doing exceptionally with their worms. he flushes you down the toilet in a moment of emotional distress

alex albon: doesn’t tell anybody about the worm but will eventually have the longest living worm although everyone will forget this fact.

george russell: holds a drivers meeting about whether it is ethical to keep worms and should they in fact be considered emotional support animals. the vote is split and the outcome is undecided

fernando alonso: makes a tiktok with you “day in a life with my worm”. then leaves you on the side of the road and you roast to death under the sun

lance stroll: begrudgingly looks after you for about a week after which he pawns you off to his sister who is now stuck with his random worm

kevin magnussen: gives the worm to his daughter who uses it for a school project. it’s very cute

nico hulkenburg: people forgot about him so he didn’t even get a worm. he’s not that sad about it.

zhou guanyu: would seem totally neutral about it but end up incorporating a worm design into his track fits and his helmets. his worm helmet goes super viral on weibo.

valtteri bottas: will use you for fishing bait and might be a bit sorry about it.

pierre gasly and esteban ocon: constantly fighting over the same worm. nobody knows that the other has the exact same one. it ends with the alpine TP stepping in and confiscating the worm. the worm somehow gets acquired by mclaren.

yuki tsunoda: he keeps you in a box that is structurally very questionable but yuki somehow finds time on the road to get you the highest quality worm feed and vegetables. you thrive under his gourmand care although he shakes the box way too hard sometimes

daniel ricciardo: changes you immediately for a caterpillar and hopes nobody notices. the caterpillar takes ages to turn into a butterfly and then people are asking bro i thought you got a worm. he gets a caterpillar tattoo.

sergio perez: couldn’t care less. thought you were roadkill stuck on his windshield and squishes you with the windscreen wiper by accident

logan sargeant: WHAT DA FUK IS A WORMMMMM? your worm life ends prematurely when logan accidentally drops your box on the floor. james vowles gets him a new worm and it remains to be seen whether the second worm is better (hopefully it is).

The TV played its screensaver, the movie it had on was paused and forgotten in favor of a soft jazz playlist. The sun had gone down and the day was just beginning to end.

Y/n had done her chores.

Most of them.

Dishes were sorted, but otherwise untouched. Until Guanyu had wandered over.

Y/n had drifted off to sleep on the couch, sat up with her head off to an awkward angle. Guanyu looked back at her every once in a while as he scrubbed off the day’s dishes.

The room had gotten dark, she was backlit by a soft lamp on the other side of her. Her dark hair lit up a hidden amber that gave her a sort of halo effect.

He stacked the dishes into her dishwasher. Slow, not trying to make too much noise.

He didn’t want to wake her up.

Guanyu didn’t see her stir awake. He just stacked the last couple dishes into the dishwasher.

She stepped up beside him as he washed his hands off.

“You didn’t have to get that,” she said, voice barely above a whisper.

He still had the dish towel in his hand when he set his hands on her waist. “You wouldn’t have.”

She rolled her eyes.

He pulled her closer, tossing the towel onto the counter as he hugged her close. Her head slotted right up against his neck. His hands planted themselves firmly on her upper back, thumbs rubbing back and forth against her shoulder blades.

“I’m gonna miss having you here all the time.”

*Although I do have to admit, IG isn't one of my favorite platforms due to the highest amount of comparison as well as the concerns surrounding people on how they did suffered from the scary spiral they did have to went through from the way they did had compared themselves to others and yet feeling as if they aren't feeling truthfully 'good enough' type of syndrome. (Scary; but let's just imagine in an alternative universe for real--let's just imagine IG is all about photography; poetry, art and so on and so forth on what it used to be originally before the extreme changes of IG)
