Sulawesi Moon Moth

Actias isis

From the saturniidae family. They have a wingspan of 120-150 mm. They can only be found in the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. In the picture, you can see a female (right) and a male (left).

Okay hi, normally I would just put these things in the fic notes themselves, but the formatting and execution of it is so Specific in my head, so they're go here!

I was debating making a webweave to accompany this fic, but ended up making this instead; it goes along with the themes I had in mind, but isn't as specifically formatted or cohesive

And also, the fic's playlist, which I know wasn't in your requests, but it exists and I feel like sharing ^_^

But, on the topic of themes & imagery, I would love to note that the moths aren't non-specific. They're specifically Actias isis (the Sulawesi Moon Moth), which were chosen for coloration reasons, and also because they fit a specific image I had & comparison that was central to the fic. Tailed moths evolved those tails to distract predators and to have the chance of surviving being attacked. (Male & female below, respectively)

(P.S. please forgive any ooc-ness, I wrote this all in like four days and I haven't watched a lot of either of these guy's content so I am doing my best but the concept was practically burning a hole in my vault so. It had to be done pfvnjdkmf)

Finally! Made the references for Sula and Ashworth! Well, it's not proper refs, but it's a good start!

Sula is, of course, based on a Sulawesi Moon moth. Ashworth, however, is based off of pink spirit moths, not Ashworth's Rustic! Despite being pastel colours, I think she'll like somewhat gothic things.

Doll's moth wings were based on a photoshopped photo of a purple moth, but I wanna change it to a real species, like a cinnabar moth cause they are black and red, simple to draw constantly or a red velvet moth because their wings look simply amazing, they are orange-red like doll's eyes

Possibilities are endless and I might combine moths for her wings and overall design

Atracus atlas, cecropia, regal, peacock moths the death head hawk moth is on my hunting list too

Actias isis(sulawesi moon moth) longgggg "tails", Polytela gloriosae (lily moth) they have beautiful patterns
