No thoughts head empty only Kuviren rendition of That Hürrevran Dream Sequence on my mind
#yeah you know what this goes on the main blog#'nia what are you doing' coping with the fact I have an entire miserable year ahead of me#look. the vibes are there okay#dreaming about your arch nemesis seductively crawling into your bed to taunt you. telling you she doesn't bite...#if that's not suiren dreaming about kuvira post failed assassination attempt I don't know what is#homoerotic toxic yuri my beloved#'but nia. that wasn't a wet dream. that was hürrem stress dreaming about Mahidevran taunting her about her ex lover#who would be executed if it was discovered that he was her ex lover because she's the sultan's property now#and the reason it was Mahidevran is because she already tried to kill hürrem several times and hürrem sees her as a threat#hence her appearance in her nightmares'#yes. and?#do you have a problem with true love?#you know. before I used to say that my posts have a target audience of one but at least they were sorta comprehensible#this is even more niche. there is genuinely only one other person who will understand The Vibes I'm talking about#literally going through double the brainrot rn. someone save me

You ever have your narrative haunted by a character who isn’t even yours
#I’ve been thinking about lien-hua non-stop for the past two days send help#like… it’s true. she does haunt the sotrl and everything sotrl-adjacent narratives#the pair of tragic sisters. the grief. her death is both the catalyst and the butterfly effect for all following events#P’Li would be a different person. Suiren and Midori wouldn’t be left with Haya. the RL might not have even gone after Korra#because Lien-Hua went through the same thing as P’Li and the two of them would rationalise better together#I don’t think Lien would trust Unalaq at all. and her distrust is different from. for example. Ming-Hua’s natural snark#they might’ve payed more attention#and even if they didn’t and still left. again sotrl wouldn’t happen#Lien would be left with the girls and she’d seek out Zhi for help so it’d be closer to UtOS#and Midori would be a slightly different person too for a… different reason#I love Lien. she’s my beloved child but that’s why this story is a tragedy. she has to die. nothing would happen as it did if she hadn’t#she died and now she haunts the narrative#and it’s not even intentional bc when I came up with Suiren and Midori’s characters or sotrl’s storyline I hadn’t read LaF yet#well. I had. I read what was there before Kat continued it#but I didn’t really pay attention to Lien-Hua’s existence. like yeah. she was there and then she died and now P’Li’s the way she is#back then she didn’t influence the way I thought about my girls in any way#compared to now#now the way P’Li sees her nieces is forever shadowed by the loss of her sister#both as kids and adults. whether they’re happy or fighting#the first makes her remember her childhood before it was so abruptly ended#the latter makes her wonder if she and Lien-Hua would’ve ended up the same way#there is a tinge of resentment there. she wants to see her nieces as they are. not as what they parallel#she knows her sister is long gone. she’ll never see her again unless she wants to go into the fog of lost souls again#but the spirits can be as merciful as they are cruel#once. a girl was powerless to stop her sister’s death. 11 years later. the girl grew up and holds her newborn niece. filled with deja vu#because yes. Midori is Lien-Hua’s reincarnation#she was always so unexplainably drawn to her auntie. much more than Suiren was#so fond of the sun on her skin and spices in her food and the glow of a fire that it’s hard to believe she has no FN blood in her#she gets strange dreams of people she can’t know but feels like she does. of an oddly familiar red eyed girl. of a long time in a dark cell#losing her parents. Haya’s cruelty. her sister’s protection fill her with dread she swears she felt before. Why did it all happen again???

Cute Yumiko oneshot with the rest of the ADA before I post the most horrific traumatizing shit ever!!!!!!
FEATURING: Osamu Dazai , Doppo Kunikida , Kyouka , Edogawa Ranpo , ATSUSHI MY BELOVED, AND KINDA KUNIZAI IMPLICATIONS BUT IDK…??
Onion’s notes: Can I have a brother like Atsushi please (No Arcturus you don’t count.)
The streets of Yokohama were alive with color and light, lanterns glowing softly above the bustling crowd, the scent of festival food wafting through the air. The Armed Detective Agency was out in full force, each member dressed in traditional kimonos, blending into the sea of festival-goers.
Yumiko was practically glued to Atsushi’s side, her eyes wide in wonder as she took in the sights. It was her first festival, her first real glimpse of life outside the sterile confines of the lab where she had grown up. She hadn’t even known about holidays like this, where people gathered to celebrate with fireworks and food. The vibrancy of it all overwhelmed her senses, but in the best way. Suiren was so wrong. This was amazing.
“Are you okay, Yumiko?” Atsushi asked gently, looking down at her with his usual protective concern.
Yumiko nodded quickly, her kimono fluttering slightly as she moved. “Yes! It’s… it’s amazing. I didn’t think the outside world was this… alive.”
Atsushi smiled, relieved to see her enjoying herself. “It is. But if it gets too much, let me know, okay? We can take a break.”
Yumiko was about to respond when a certain suicidal brunette voice chimed in. “Wow, Atsushi, you’re like a real big brother now, huh? All responsible and everything.”
Kunikida adjusted his glasses, giving Dazai a sidelong glance. “Stop teasing him, Dazai. We’re here to make sure everyone has a good time, especially Yumiko.”
“Oh, come on, Kunikida, lighten up! It’s a festival! Let’s make the most of it before we go back to all that boring paperwork.”
Yumiko looked up at Atsushi, tilting her head. “Is it always like this with them?”
Atsushi sighed, giving her a knowing smile. “Pretty much.”
Nearby, Ranpo was already munching on a bag of festival snacks, giving Yumiko a casual wave. “You’ll get used to it. Trust me, this is a normal day.”
Yumiko blinked at the display of odd behavior, unsure whether to laugh or be confused. But before she could dwell on it, Kyoka approached with a small smile, holding out a candied apple. “Here. I thought you might want to try one.”
Yumiko hesitated before accepting the treat, her eyes lighting up at the sweet taste. “It’s really good,” she said, her voice filled with excitement.
Kyoka nodded, standing beside her. “There are lots of good things here. You should try the takoyaki next.”
“We’ll get you all the snacks you want,” Atsushi promised, watching her enjoy herself. He glanced at the others, feeling a warmth in his chest as they all came together to make Yumiko’s first festival a memorable one.
As they moved through the festival grounds, Yumiko found herself laughing more than she had in a long time. Maybe for the first time ever, even. Dazai attempted to win a plush toy for her at a game stall but ended up failing spectacularly, much to Kunikida’s exasperation. Ranpo gave her tips on how to win at the goldfish scooping game, while Atsushi and Kyoka helped her try out different festival foods.
“Are festivals always like this?” Yumiko asked as they found a quiet spot near the waterfront, where they were planning to watch the fireworks.
Atsushi chuckled. “Not always this chaotic, but it’s always fun.”
“Especially with this group,” Kunikida muttered, trying to keep Ranpo from wandering off.
Yumiko smiled softly, feeling something warm and comforting bloom in her chest. It wasn’t just the festival itself that made her happy—it was the fact that she was here, with people who cared about her. She had spent so long feeling isolated, like she didn’t belong anywhere. But now, surrounded by her new family at the Armed Detective Agency, she finally felt like she had a place.
As the fireworks began to light up the night sky, Yumiko practically jumped before she realized that it wasn’t what she thought it was. Her eyes widened in awe. She had never seen anything like it—colors bursting across the sky, reflecting in the water below. It felt like magic.
“They’re so beautiful,” she whispered as she shifted back into her fox form and jumped into Atsushi’s shoulder pikachu style.
Atsushi smiled at her. “I’m glad you like them. I knew you’d enjoy this.”
Dazai, lying on the grass nearby, grinned lazily. “It’s the perfect ending to the night, don’t you think?”
“Except for all the noise,” Kunikida complained, though there was a fond smile tugging at his lips.
Yumiko looked around at them, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. She turned to Atsushi, her voice soft but sincere. “Thank you, Atsushi-nii. For bringing me here. For… everything.”
Atsushi’s expression softened as he reached out to ruffle her hair in a brotherly manner. “You don’t have to thank me, Yumiko. I’m just happy you’re here with us.”
“Yeah!” Ranpo chimed in, still munching on snacks. “You’re part of the family now, Yumiko. No more labs, no more bad guys. Just us.”
Kyoka nodded in agreement, her quiet presence reassuring. “You’ll always have us.”
Yumiko blinked, her heart swelling with warmth. For the first time in a long while, she felt safe. She wasn’t just surviving anymore—she was living. And as the final firework burst into a brilliant display above them, Yumiko knew she had found something even more precious than freedom.
She had found her family.

Say hello to the 2nd in Command of Hisui's Suiren Security Corp., beloved Llygaid lleuad, and Warden of the Highlands, Warden Ingo! His younger kin have convinced him to join them in a Q&A! Quite a lovely family portrait, wouldn't you agree?
(Just a quick note- this au is of the darker sort, as it involves Vampires and Pokémon-esque werewolves. That means things such as blood, mid level gore, character death, etc, so if you are not comfortable with such things, please do not delve further! None of the answered questions will have such things unless full detail is requested, and will always have warnings.
Edit- secondary note, the style all response will be in will constantly change. Our style shifts every day, apologies in advance)
If you would be so kind, please use this code with your question to help us gadge a response!
⭐️ - Full Ramble - give me all the details, spoilers be damned! My curiosity is burning! (Receive a long winded response not from the characters, with as many details as we can remember on the spot pertaining to your question. Depending on the question, may also have diagrams and images)
💎 - Character Response - I only want a response from the character, even if their knowledge is limited!
❌️ - Make It Mild - If possible, please respond with low details if the response has anything dark (like the things warned about above)
🔪 - Chef It Up - I want to see the blood when I close my eyes, give me the full picture! The more angst the better! (No sensoring, we dish out the facts as they are as bluntly as possible and with a decent description.)
You can combine any and all of these if you'd like, no worries! Example-
"Heyo! How did you become a Vampire, Warden?
💎🔪"

" i once knew your ancestors. " sukuna made no effort at small talk as he came to stand beside the other. memories quickly flooded his mind — times when he possessed his true form, wielding far more power than he did now. it was a past he no longer cared to remember. reunited with hisao, his beloved, the years without him had lost their significance. now, sukuna had been briefed on the others who were at the school or often visited, and suiren had caught his interest solely because he had encountered their bloodline once before.
" i often frequented your clan during my reign . . . one of the few that i'd left untouched. " he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the wall, a rare sense of curiosity emanating from a man known for critiquing other sorcerers. " though looking at you i can't help but wonder what happened. " / @kusattainu
#starter.#sorcerer au.#here's ur starter FINALLY ????#i've had this half done sitting in drafts#time to post it#i hope this works for u tho..#suku is being lowkey mean pls excuse him

Hello all, Ritsu here. I wanted to pass word that this page will likely become inactive. After many many years of journeying within Eorzea, I’ve decided to let my sub lapse once it comes due here soon. The lack of friends that still play, the inability to break into new RP circles despite multiple attempts, and attempting to find motivation to continue content alone has all contributed to this beloved game just not being enjoyable anymore.
I will continue to administratively organize the Night Market. It’s been a constantly surprising success thanks to all those dedicated souls that continue to vendor and visit. Until it fades into the dust, I owe it to those folks to keep it going.
Thank you to all those that have made Suiren Shrine a great place to watch over these last few years and I wish you all the best.

Oh also, on what was shown on special climax preview:
I fricking knew the negative root problem in Kalos ain't over akjhsfksfhjsf, and I am actually GLAD that we're possible gonna see the conclusion of that plot. At least, that's what I'm hoping to see. We are definitely teased at Satoshi-Gekkouga transformation happening once again. Thou, as I said, it's hard to actually trust JN.
Alola ep is soon as well which I'm excited about, as it actually seems to be possibly multi-part due to Battle Royale shown (The Haxorus mouth is one of the entrances to the arena iirc) and Iki town being shown as well. Also!
Koharu finally goes to Alola and I bet it's gonna be about Suiren's Nagisa (thou the feast COULD imply Aether Family coming back home, maybe they found Mohn off-screen... which would be bad lol But I don't give a frick anymore adkhskjf) and why she's not evolved her akjhsjfhf. I mean. It's kinda the true final step of the eeveelution journey Koharu's character was pushed into. Sigh. I swear someone higher up told them to because she had so much potential...
ANYWAY. Very excited for future Alola episodes, possibly more interesting Koharu focus episodes (please don't end her character competely on just eeveelutions), and excited to see what they'll do with Gekkouga. Please, come home ♥ Ofc, Gekkouga should mean Puni-chan. Which is also weird not to promote akjhsfkjsfh.
Anyway. I'm off now akjhfkjhsfjf. I had to shout about these stuff about the special trailer.
OH AND ALSO WANPACHI MY BELOVED WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN IT'S BEEN 9 MONTHS SINCE I ACTUALLY REMEMBER SEEING YOU akjhfksjsfhsfjh.
Cough.
Bai now lol.

Thirteenth Sun of the Second Astral Moon
It’s been a strange week. Or maybe even sextnight at this point. Let me start at the end: I’m the new day-to-day Proprietress at the Bandee Pakshee. Yeah. So here’s how that whole situation came about.
Two weeks ago, we had some clients hire A’sharah and I for a spa day. This included my longtime regular Rex, Sharah’s girlfriend Myra and Laz. Pedicures, massages, it was the whole nines. Xau and a newer employee Suiren came by as well, and the group of us joined Vandal upstairs for a nice chit-chat and catpile. Catpiles are great.
I got this call on that one particular linkshell that some people in La Noscea were hurt, so I took Xau up to the Nymian ruins and met up with Madison and Anhe from Sword and Spear. Great folks, really! The situation we saw was... strange. A dragon gorged on aether had run amok. I know dragons, that’s not normal. Madison promised to keep me in the loop on the investigations, but it was Anhe I hit it off with.
Anhe is adorable and she and I have a lot in common. A week later, at the Grindstone, I ran into her again and invited her to come back to the Pakshee. Sharah made it through her first round, and though Anhe was busy with her mentor that night, she said she’d visit as we parted ways. The Sharah cheering section, usual suspects though they be, came back to the Pakshee for catnip and conversation.
That’s where a simmering conflict between Mhee and Sharah stopped simmering. Mhee seemed to disapprove of the gentle and casual camaraderie of the catpile and she and Sharah exchanged heated words. I tried to settle them and think it was me that got the fight to at least not continue take place in front of guests like my beloved Rheya, but the fight just exploded again the following day.
Worse still, Mheena’s partner brought children to the Pakshee, which managed to upset virtually everyone except Uzzy himself.
By yesterday, Mheena’s leadership and Sharah’s anger had been marks on the company in front of everyone from Spa Day, maybe even Anhe, as well as Rheya. I wasn’t going to let this conflict continue. I had to get them both to settle down.
All together, there weren’t many resources left to me. Sharah had become set on a path to cause a power-struggle and she wasn’t exactly wrong. Mheena had not been ready for the position thrust upon her, and it was showing in her burnout and occasional disregard for her own rules. But I wanted Mheena to grow and reshape into the leader we needed, not to fracture the company with a very public struggle over leadership.
We called for Zuzu.
Zuzu - Z’zhumi Umi - is the founder of the company, and while daily operations haven’t really been in her hands for some time, she remains the person able to come in and make sweeping changes. I think Sharah and I both expected that Zuzu would either elevate Sharah to leadership or, my preference, get Mheena’s act together and find out what was at the heart of her troubles.
I know Mhee felt in over her head, but she didn’t seem willing to reach out. I’d hoped Zuzu could fix that.
I wasn’t expecting Mhee to leave. And I hope, one day, she sees her way home to us. I get it, though. She’d taken too much on herself and gotten burned by it. I’d been there. I tried to share that lesson with her.
So, with her stepping down to pursue her personal affairs in a lower-stress environment, who would lead us? Well, apparently me.
Look, all I want in live is to train courtesans, to make sure they’re safe and happy and well cared for. That’s the extent of my ambition. But, to accomplish that task, I was needed here. Zuzu heard about my efforts to find diplomatic resolutions to the conflict, she knows about my connections and relative fame as a performer.
I just wonder if it’s right to have an Ishgardian pale as the snow wax lyrical about Sagolii culture. I still can’t pronounce ‘salaam’ right. I can’t be the face of the place. But I can run it. I believe that much about myself. And I trust the members and other managers here to be dependable.
This wasn’t how I thought yesterday would go, but I’ll see it through tomorrow.
((OOC NOTE: This journal entry covers the IC reasoning and rationale about Rommie taking over the leadership of the Pakshee. This is NOT an OOC explanation of what transpired and it should be noted that Pakshee parts on good terms with Mheena and wishes her the best.)) You know what? Where Land Meets Sea is seriously one of my best fics, I really popped off with that one
#I had half a period free today and re-read the part of it where Kuvira meets Suiren and it's just. exquisite#considering I wrote it in an impossible rush and barely edited afterwards it's incredibly good#I would really like to go back to it sometime soon. but I don't quite know where to take it#and I want to finish my current WIPs first#but I still really really want to#cryptid suiren my beloved#nia's mermaid AU#kuviren

I was gonna be like “Should I liveblog my Hunger Games reread?” but let’s be honest with ourselves here, every post will be me writing out a passage from the book and captioning it with “The Suiren vibes are off the charts”
#in which nia has recently realised just how much she was influenced by THG while creating Suiren#not even while creating her but while coming up with the exact dynamic she has with her sister in sotrl verse#she didn’t even have a sister in her original concept lmao#the similarities weren’t intentional but it’s very clear that subconsciously I was very much inspired#thg is probably my favourite book series ever and Suiren is my beloved oc so it’s not like I mind#just find it kinda funny that it took me so long to realise

Literally everyone: Suiren is incredibly powerful and capable, she can kill someone with her eyes closed and not even flinch, her waterbending skill rivals Katara in her prime, she is cold and calculating and confident and knows damn well just how attractive she is
Meanwhile Suiren: *cringefail lesbian girlfailure*
#/halfjoking#look I love this girl to pieces and all of that is pretty much true#but she also a complete wreck and it's a wonder she's still functioning#sotrl suiren#my beloved

Decided to dig this up from the depths of my art blog as a sort of “Look at where we are, look at where we started” moment
Date of origin: January 12th 2021
Do y’all remember that one scene in Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke-
This one?
I was watching the movie on Saturday while writing chapter 6 of Seeds of the Red Lotus when an idea struck my brain and refused to leave
May I present to you-
The Suiren/Kuvira crack-ship that @felicity-kitten and I came up with once in the middle of the night
Again, this started out as a crack-ship (it’s literally Suiren’s job to take Kuvira down come on-) but ngl, I’m lowkey interested in what their dynamic would be like. They are similar in a lot of ways, when you think about it.
#‘crack ship’ I really had no idea what was coming did I#‘lowkey interested in what their dynamic would be like’ this is so funny to look back on#how did we get here#how did i go from making jokes and drawing anime memes to coming up with thousands of words worth of headcanons#and drawing things tumblr shan’t see??#the fact it’s been over two and a half years…#good fucking god#I was still drawing in ibispaint then#rare remnants of my pre procreate era#tablet and stylus only a month old#I was literally just 14 back then#I never expected this ship to become so dear and beloved to me#I also think it’s funny how even here. with dialogue that isn’t their own. with 0 headcanons about what they’re like together#they manage to reflect the kuviren of today#with Suiren spouting death threats and Kuvira making good use of how flustered Suiren gets when complimented#and a trace of the old self remains in the new self#some things just never change do they 😂😅#also. ‘while writing chapter 6 of sotrl’ WOW FUNNY JOKE NIA. ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS#okay well this was posted less than 2 weeks after I published chapter 5#so I was still full of excitement and passion for writing#then the winter holidays ended and we were quarantined again and it felt like all the joy was sucked out of me#and I never fully recovered#congratulations I made it about me and my problems again yay#ignore me#focus on the origins of Kuviren#look at them#I love them so much#we’ve come so far#I’m getting emotional over this :’)#kuviren

what if vaatu got midori instead??
Well.. "got" is kinda the wrong word here because honestly, I don't see Vaatu willingly fusing with a human in most circumstances, the exceptions being Adumbration by @katkastrofa – which barely counts since it was less fusing and more him being inside her already by virtue of growing inside Raava – and my Avatar Suiren AU, in which it's done on Vaatu's terms and Suiren doesn't remain fused to him a second longer than she has to, as much as she loves her little emo kite (may or may not be falling under the influence of both Kat and @shadelorde by implying that whatever the fuck Unalaq was doing with Vaatu was coerced and barely consensual since Unalaq was the one who had the most power in that sitiation. Do with that information what you will). And if he were to, I doubt Midori would be his first choice, nor would Midori herself wish to be the Avatar, Dark or otherwise
BUT if we operate under the assumption that it does somehow happen, Vaatu would have access to all of Midori's inner workings and I'm afraid that listening to her anxiety-ridden internal monologue of "I will forever be inferior to my gorgeous, powerful and capable sister. She will always be better than me, more beloved by everyone whose opinion matters, unaware of the inescapable shadow she casts. I'm doomed to remain the pathetic, useless little sister who can't even stand up for herself" will hit way, way too close to home and he'd yeet himself out of her within five minutes
#this is exaggerated to a degree but the point still stands#Midori's psyche can be too much even for me on certain days. and I'm the older sister#imagine what it would be like for someone whose entire existence for the past 10000 years was defined by how 'good' and 'pure' his sister is#and the reverse is also true#Vaatu's resentment of Raava would just enable some of the worst thought processes in Midori#so.. yeah. not the best pair. these two#the only more positive thing I can think of is that Midori's lavabending reminds me of the way Kat describes Vaatu#a dark. warm. incandescent glow#Nightmare's art of solar eclipse Vaatu kinda shares a colour scheme with that#but that's kinda the extent of my thoughts#sorry I'm writing this out with both my parents in the either room while running on 5 hours of sleep#I both can't think properly bc they stress me out and can't tell if my tone sounds weird#but also I genuinely don't have much to say about this scenario#maybe Kat will have the desire and spoons to elaborate if she's got any more thoughts about it#but I'm not insisting since the concept doesn't match to what either of the ones involved would do#no offence#also I'm aware this ask is ancient. I'm sorry. things are always A Lot and it's hard to formulate my thoughts properly a lot of the time#Kat and Nia and their multiverse of madness#the legend of korra#vaatu#original character#sotrl midori

an au that may or may not exist: what if suiren became the avatar instead of korra??
Believe it or not, it is an AU that has existed in my head for… about four years now, maybe? I think I even made some art for it once, though I’m pretty sure it was destroyed in the Great Tablet Explosion of October 2020 (don’t ask…). I never really developed it much because Kat wasn’t too interested in it and considering my difficult relationship with motivation, energy and creating in general, it’s hard to find the will to spend time and resources on something if I don’t have my beloved partner in crime to yell about it with me, you know?
But anyway, the two ways an AU like this could go are:
1) Reminiscent of most Red Lotus Korra AUs, Suiren is raised by her parents to believe in the anarchist cause, always on the run and never staying in one place for too long as they hide her from the White Lotus right up until it’s time for her to learn airbending. The world is absolutely not ready for an Avatar like her, Spirits help us all
2) She is discovered and taken from her parents as a child, the Red Lotus are imprisoned and she’s raised in Korra’s compound. No matter how much the White Lotus would try to condition her against her parents, she’d never listen and would spend the years doing as she’s told but biding her time until she’s old and powerful enough to break her parents free and take revenge on everyone who did this to them. The world’s fucked, RIP everyone
I am much more partial to the first version just because Suiren already goes through so much pain in all of our AUs, I’d like to spare her at least from this. And also the first version is just so much more fun since it creates room for a lot of family fluff and shenanigans, which are some of my favourite genres to indulge in 😁
As for what she’d actually be like as an Avatar, she’d be a lot like Korra. Brash, cocky, hotheaded, all that. She’s prodigious in waterbending, obviously, and I imagine fire and earth would come to her rather quickly as well, fire more so since she’s a bit too lightfooted for earth (on that note, as much as it would make sense, I don’t want her to be a lavabender. Let Midori have this one thing she’s exceptional at, please, she already has an inferiority complex the size of the Earth Kingdom even without her sister being the Avatar). Air would also be a struggle since the extent of her spirituality is considering the moon her closest ally, but she’d have the movements down straight away since it’s not too far off from her bending style. And this is based on what I tangentially learned from Kat, but I think she might also be similar to Yangchen in being very susceptible to her past lives. Not quite to that severity, but she definitely gets flashbacks and strange dreams and random knowledge a lot, and when she’s overwhelmed and dissociated her past lives have a tendency to take over. It’s both scary and comforting to her, knowing that at any moment someone else could take her body over while her mind would be safe and sound in some sort of headspace. Out of her past lives, she’d absolutely adore Kyoshi and Yangchen, would probably be interested in whatever Kuruk and Aang have to tell her, and would hate Roku for his inaction leading to the start of the 100 Year War. She’d probably like Wan too if she ever dug that deep
She’s two years older than Korra so she’d have a bit more time before LoK’s plot kicks in, but… I didn’t actually think this far, to be honest. I’m horrendous when it comes to politics so I don’t really know what to do with the conflicts Korra faced. However, Suiren’s grandmother (adopted, not one of the biological ones, RIP Nuying and Afarin but Ikiaq is different) is a bloodbender so assuming there came a point where Suiren was taught it – and I believe she would definitely spend some time in the North with her grandmas, maybe at some point after the White Lotus exhausted their search of the poles and decides that the Avatar must come from a blended family in the Earth Kingdom – I think she’d be able to clock what Amon was doing as bloodbending. Not straight away, but if she looked at the chi paths of one of his victims. But again, I don’t really know where that whole thing with the equalists and Tarrlok and everything else would go. But it would be funny as hell if they had a “🎵 I’m just like you, you’re just like me 🎶” moment over bloodbending 😂😂 (before obviously some huge end-of-season fight, we’re not in a Disney movie where everything is solved by singing, unfortunately. If Suiren from the mermaid AU was here, though…)
About Book 2, tbh I feel like the story could very well end here, because the Red Lotus is fundamentally opposed to the existence of the Avatar. No, I’m not saying that her own family would kill her, absolutely not, but perhaps Suiren would choose to end the Avatar cycle during Harmonic Convergence by unfusing with Raava, freeing Vaatu and letting them keep doing what they were doing before Wan so rudely interrupted them. But if we wanna take it further and make it interesting, which I would prefer, she could fuse with Vaatu instead (probably killing Unalaq in the process since he’s not letting his Chaos Kite Boyfriend go that easily /hj. That’s alright though, wouldn’t be the first verse in which she’d kill Unalaq [hi Kat I know we haven’t discussed this yet but I recently got this really clear picture in my head of UtOS!Suiren eventually killing Unalaq as they’re readying the world for an anarchist revolution, and of Malina finding her over his dead body and kissing her while her face is splattered in his blood. Idk what possessed me there but it exists now and idk what you’ll think of it but you’re gonna have to try really hard to talk me out of it], no one would miss him). Raava wouldn’t be too happy about it but she’ll settle eventually once Suiren yells at her and Vaatu enough times to shut the fuck up and stop fighting, she can hear every word and she’s trying to sleep. If I were to write it, I’d draw a lot from what Kat described in her works Bonded and Adumbration, which I would link but that would require me doing a whole song and dance to get my VPN to connect so I can access Ao3, so… I’m sorry find them yourself if you’re curious 😅 It’d be quite an interesting dynamic for sure, and I really think Suiren would be rather fond of her Spirit Kites. She’s got a real thing for any creature that reminds her of water – snakes, certain fish, dancing Kuvira, etc., Raava and Vaatu would fit right in!! (I’m being plagued with art ideas beyond my skill level, send help)
After that it’s pretty much a clear road to an anarchist revolution since she’d be practically unstoppable with the power of two Great Spirits inside her, and that would replace the plots of Books 3 and 4 since obviously she wouldn’t have to go up against her own parents, they wouldn’t lose and Kuvira wouldn’t become the Great Uniter. But I still think Kuvira would have a high rank in some kind of oppositional movement against the Red Lotus, probably started by Suyin, so Kuviren can still have that sweet, sweet toxic yuri enemies to lovers plot line. Wouldn’t be an AU by yours truly without it :D And.. I think that’s pretty much all the thoughts I have on this topic, apart from the fact that once the time comes, Suiren would still end the Avatar cycle, either by unfusing with Raava and Vaatu or by ensuring she dies in the Avatar state (not by poison or anything, I’m sure if she talked to Raava and Vaatu they could arrange a way for them to take over right as she’s about to pass. My dear girl deserves to go peacefully at age 90+, I will not argue about this). No matter the exact route of this AU, Suiren would be the last Avatar, I can’t see her deciding any other way. Anyway, it’s a fun AU, definitely, an absolute goldmine for those shenanigans that I adore, but I do not have the energy or enough knowledge of politics and worldbuilding to turn it into an actual thing, so for now, it all remains in this post. Thanks for the question though, I really enjoyed this little thought experiment :)
#I’ve been typing for +- an hour and a half so don’t have energy left for tag rants.
