YES!!!!!!!! Oh my god, it's so slkdfjsdlkfjsd that someone is asking about this fic - last year I did like 8 plot bunnies, and my space one was one of the most popular among them, I've had ample time to think on this one, and it's progressed in my brain so much over the past year. I'm currently working on outlining it, and I'm hoping it comes to life sooner rather than later.

Poor Bilbo ends up swept away on a quest to destroy The Arkenstone - a dwarvish creation that has successfully replaced Thorin's old gemstone heart.

Quick question: what would modding for the blog entail? I'm curious and I love organizing things, but I don't want to commit to something and then have to back out 😅

it would basically mean answering asks when we get them, creating the masterlists and adding fics to the library and making sure everything is up to date (like the masterlist page and tags page) but you can totally chose whatever you want to do on the blog so you're not overwhelmed. if you're more comfortable doing one of those things then that's totally fine with me. i'd just love the extra help!

60. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?

Absolutely I have - and that's not to sound arrogant. By this I mean, I am so lucky to have some of my favorite authors as friends, and to see them in the comments of my fics always makes my heart do little leaps of joy. Like YES, I have PLEASED FRIENDO, +5 cool points!!!

In all honesty, it's such an amazing experience, having someone you idolize compliment your work. It's a great boost of motivation, and it makes you feel like you're doing something RIGHT.

Even outside my close friend circle, I do remember having a very talented and well-known author comment on one or two of my fics, and there was something so insanely KLSDJLKSDFJS about it. Surreal, I think. Like I needed to go lay down for ten minutes to truly wrap my mind around it lol

67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?

Both - sometimes I work better when given a specific direction, and other times I do really well with random ideas blowing up in my head and not leaving me alone. It really just depends on the mood I'm in, and how the ol' raisin brain is doing.

74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?

Just look for the commentary about blueberries, and you'll know it's me. Specifically, blueberry tarts lol I really gotta add more blueberry pastries in these fics that AREN'T tarts...

It all frustrates me in such a variety of ways, so i can't really rank them, but the first specific one that comes to mind is everything to do with what the "correct" definitions of identities are? Anything can mean everything and people get to pick and choose their identities, creating strict rules and boxes defeats like the whole purpose. Also immensely dislike the recent trend of sanitizing queerness and ignoring the sexuality and provocative parts. it's an integral part to the history and to many people's identities and should be respected, even if it isn't to one's personal tastes. (disclaimer that this is one single summarized paragraph and does not reflect the complete depth of my thoughts)

26. Partner is the term my partner and I use to refer to each other, and I think it's a perfectly fine word. I appreciate its genderlessness at times, though im not strictly opposed to gendered words (case by case basis). partner doesn't set off like fireworks for me, but it adequately communicates that we're equals and committed to each other without giving away additional details. so that's all very nice :)

33. I very much would like to celebrate just how undefinable my identities are!! There are no words, no boxes that can contain or explain them. I am how I am, contradictory and amorphous and confusing and incredibly incredibly queer, and I love that! I love not using labels and being undefined and queer and weird and all that. Shout out to everyone else like me, we're very cool :)

FAVORITE POEMS!! So, I have read a lot of poems I love but the one that's probably stuck in my head the most is called In Neglect, by Robert Frost. My great grandmother gave me a book of his poems, and I found it there and it hasn't left my head since.

i've taken ages to post this ask bc i'm trying to sort through my feelings about this. i'm trying to settle on one way of interpreting it but failing. i'm still not sure on either account, but i should give you some kind of response haha. thanks for sharing <3
