Oh my god, it's so slkdfjsdlkfjsd that someone is asking about this fic - last year I did like 8 plot bunnies, and my space one was one of the most popular among them, I've had ample time to think on this one, and it's progressed in my brain so much over the past year. 20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

Uhm. I noticed that I tend to set the mood of a scene through the weather or time of day - for example, if it's an especially romantic or sweet scene, at least lately, it tends to be set under the light of the moon.

Regarding themes - I hope, because truly I am trying to put it in, that people notice the fact I try to give the characters Hope, and I try to make them fall in love with the World again after them experiencing traumatic things and mental illnesses (of course, mental illnesses don't heal that easily and I KNOW, because I'm mentally ill). This is a very personal theme, as, like, you know, and also my other friends know. I am trying to love life, I am trying so fucking hard to find Hope again. So far, no good luck but... you know. I am trying.

Furthermore, another theme that I try to make people pick up on is Love as a Choice. I wrote a whole ass one-shot about it but lmao. It's in the other stuff too, you feel?

And so I am asking you, and my other readers, did you pick up on any other themes in my works? Even some that I may be putting in unconsciously?

29. What’s your revision or editing process like?

I know it seems to be a good "no-no" among writers, but I do edit as I write. Mostly, I write something, and then if I make a little pause between sessions, even five minutes, I re-read what I wrote before continuing and add to it. It has always worked well for me, and I'm not going to stop. When I think I'm done with the fic/chapter, I give it another re-read, and then it's off to a Beta Reader. After the Beta's done their magic, I go through it and fix stuff. Surprisingly (at least for me) it's very rare for the Beta (whoever that is in that moment) to tell me to fix whole phrases (it's happened before, but like... it's really rare). Usually, it's just grammar mistakes due to English not being my first language. Always surprised people actually like my writing smh.

36. How do you write kissing scenes?

I always try to visualize my scenes, all of them. It's like a movie in my head. I set the scene, the lighting, the mood, the feelings the characters are experiencing. I often ask myself: does the POV character feel something? Do they taste something? Is it familiar, wrong, awkward, does it excite them? I have basically no experience with kissing, especially willing kissing, but I try to make the reader feel with the character is feeling instead of, like, just making tongues swirl.

49. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

I actually used to, on my old blog and in DMs. I didn't really enjoy those, and I used to react badly esp because like, they were VERY rude. Now, I barely get reviews at all, but they're pretty much all positive. I think it's because my writing has improved a lot, to be honest, but also because I know most of the people that read my stuff (we're all in Rare Pair Hell) and they have a very "if you don't like it, you don't say that to the writer" mentality which I appreciate. My stuff is there for free, you're not spending money on it, so...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm giving people the wrong impression about my life--it is NOT perfect by any means! I share the same struggles as many people on here, including pretty bad anxiety issues, and have gone through some dark hurdles and still carry heavy burdens. BUT I prefer to share more of the positive lights in my life because there's enough darkness in the world; we don't need to drown ourselves further in the negatives. I want to help people's Tumblr experience be a relaxing refuge and a warm, comforting space.

Quick question: what would modding for the blog entail? I'm curious and I love organizing things, but I don't want to commit to something and then have to back out 😅

it would basically mean answering asks when we get them, creating the masterlists and adding fics to the library and making sure everything is up to date (like the masterlist page and tags page) but you can totally chose whatever you want to do on the blog so you're not overwhelmed. if you're more comfortable doing one of those things then that's totally fine with me. i'd just love the extra help!

60. Have you had a writer you admire comment on your fic? What was that like?

Absolutely I have - and that's not to sound arrogant. By this I mean, I am so lucky to have some of my favorite authors as friends, and to see them in the comments of my fics always makes my heart do little leaps of joy. Like YES, I have PLEASED FRIENDO, +5 cool points!!!

In all honesty, it's such an amazing experience, having someone you idolize compliment your work. It's a great boost of motivation, and it makes you feel like you're doing something RIGHT.

Even outside my close friend circle, I do remember having a very talented and well-known author comment on one or two of my fics, and there was something so insanely KLSDJLKSDFJS about it. Surreal, I think. Like I needed to go lay down for ten minutes to truly wrap my mind around it lol

67. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?

Both - sometimes I work better when given a specific direction, and other times I do really well with random ideas blowing up in my head and not leaving me alone. It really just depends on the mood I'm in, and how the ol' raisin brain is doing.

74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?

Just look for the commentary about blueberries, and you'll know it's me. Specifically, blueberry tarts lol I really gotta add more blueberry pastries in these fics that AREN'T tarts...
