why do gum companies use sugar alcohols

ive had two pieces in like the past 48 hours but now my stomach is all rumbly

kinda sucks cuz i have a pack of five gum and 38 pieces of grape icebreakers

honestly i'd much rather they just use sugar because that won't upset my stomach

i really wish they made salty flavored chewing gum. ive been trying to fight my perpetual state of hunger with chewing gums, which i unfortunately dislike, and i think i would dislike it less if i could have it salty/savoury. every day i dream of that one full meal chewing gum roal dahl thought up

when i was riding home on the bus on friday

we had to stop at a border patrol... station... thing and i had my only bag with me

i had nothing illegal on me (like duh) but god i still was so paranoid when they wanted to see inside my bag

i guess my poker face was good because my mind was screaming

immediately chewing sugar-free mint gum when i want to b¡nge is actually so effective bc if my mouth is minty food will taste gross anyway.

I am going to be so annoyed if even these electrolyte tablets stop hydrating me. Maybe I'm just diluting them too much?

On the positive side, I think I can drink it now without the tooth pain piling up! I started flossing after every time I brushed my teeth, which I didn't need to do before, and it's made a huge difference. I don't normally drink carbonated drinks, and I've stopped even drinking juice now, since it's one of the many things that hurt my stomach, so I wonder how much of a link there is between tooth decay and sugary drinks, compared to sugary foods. I always thought I just won the tooth-gene-lottery, because it couldn't just be from brushing twice a day.

Hope the gastro I'm seeing at the start of next month will take my problems seriously! I've had them for a while and I'm not dead yet, but that doesn't make them not serious.

artificial sweeteners are literally evil like they upset my stomach so bad but nooo this piece of gum has to be 5 calories instead of 7 calories. it says that straight up on the back of 5 gum. literally kill yourself aspartame

Hey! I gave my dog xylitol by accident once! I gave her a melatonin tablet to help her sleep and only remembered to check the ingredients after the fact!

And upon a quick research run, I found out that the reason dogs can die is because it rapidly drops blood sugar. So I took a Roxie-sized portion of leftover sloppy joe meat, mixed in a spoonful of sugar, and had her eat it all, and then monitored her throughout the night, and she was fine.

Should she have been taken to the vet? Possibly, but I'm pretty sure Mom wouldn't've done that in the middle of the night, so it was the next best option.
