Maybe Daniel has taken Maxy on holiday to a private beach - it is just them, the sand, and the sea. Perfect for Max to enjoy the holiday in his headspace! He gets to have bottles and snuggles on the sun loungers! And Daniel spends a long time making two F1 cars in the sand for he and max to ‘race’ in… and then at the end of the day Max gets to jump all over them both and destroy them before the sea washes them away!!! At first Max doesn’t want to break them, but of course Daniel promises they can rebuild them tomorrow.

OR OR OR in the Red Bull AU, maybe the team try to have a few activations throughout the year that Max can enjoy, and that make him ready to drop as soon as he's finished. So he plays with with the sandcastle while he's big and as the activation goes on he gets more and more fuzzy and then as soon as they've finished filming he runs over to GP because “Jeep I’ve got sand in my shoe help!!!!” and then GP has to spring into action and get those shoes off of Max before he has a melt down about it 😂

Soulmates: What made you realize they were perfect partner material?

Patrick: So there's a few posts I've made about Patrick on here as far back as 2021, shortly before I first left and shortly after I discovered him. He showed up in my life at that time through memes of the infamous Walking on Sunshine scene, where he was listening to random music people would edit in as he was walking down the hallway with his Walkman on. I was curious about this mysterious man, so I looked some stuff about him and realized he was the guy from those references I'd see occasionally from other media (the cold apartment design, the Hip To Be Square scene). I read about what he had done, watched clips of the movie, and in my shock, I hated Patrick. And yet, despite his darkness, there was something about him that I still liked, and I didn't understand. I told myself that I loved to hate him. That was all. But as time went on, I realized that this wasn't the case. He knew that it wasn't possible for me to love to hate, only hate to love. Subconsciously, he explained to my mind and heart that we were meant to be because of how lonely we both are on an existential level. Whether he did or did not commit his crimes doesn't matter when we're together because he could start anew in a whole new world with me and escape his Hell. It was his desperation calling out to me that made me melt, then his complexity clicked like a puzzle piece. All of these factors coming together made me realize that we were meant to be, and from that moment onwards and by the time I had finally watched the movie, there was barely any ounce of hate left in my heart, and he became partner material to me 🥺

The Polite Leader: I first met my Polite Leader back in 2013 when The Purge first came out. I had just turned 11 that summer, and other than thinking he was kinda creepy, I was more annoyed with the ad because I was young and was skeptical of the concept. Fast forward ten years later when I remembered the movie, realized it came out a decade ago, remembered that signature face on my TV screen, and decided to do more research on it and him, and realized just how handsome, mysterious, and charming he was despite his creepiness. I actually sat down and bothered to watch the movie, and despite how mid it was, he stole not only the show but my heart as well (I know, cliché lol). He reminded me of a younger Patrick with such eloquent manners and in a dystopian world, and hearing him say the word "exquisite" just sold it for me. Yeah, he's an ass, but he was just 🥲🥲🥲 He was so fine, Rhys Wakefield is such an underrated and sexy Aussie. All of these things led to the moment I realized he was partner material. He may not have had a name or backstory, but we can make him ours in our own way, now can't we? 🥰

Hey! So I stumbled across Desire Path a little bit ago and then I saw u posted a little excerpt for it and I was like !!!!!

Personally, and this is about the series as a whole, it really touched me as someone who has also had a few adults fail me in life (not to readers extent though), and it really made me a bit emotional (I cried, I crode frfr). I also just think Reader is just, such a strong person for being so sweet even after everything she went through/ will go through because I have certainly become more of an asshole bc of my experiences.

Also on a more technical level I love your exposition, and I think your descriptions are just beautiful.

it's funny that you make that comment about her being sweet - I think she only comes off that way because the fic is told through rin's pov. she had a pretty nasty streak toward him when she was a teenager (that's why they had a huge falling out). it's just not strongly pronounced from rin's pov because he was even worse to her and feels super guilty about it. she also has a pretty notable manipulative streak as an adult - rin just doesn't notice it because, well, he's being manipulated too 💀

she does love her brothers a lot though and I don't think her flaws detract from her strength or sweetness toward them. but all this to say, she is not a perfect victim, and I think when adults fail to care for you as a child, it's natural that you might grow up with maladaptive behaviours and coping mechanisms as an adult - she is no exception!

I know what it’s like to struggle with body image, it’s something I’ve been working on for almost 2 years in therapy. The best thing I have learned is that as long as you are healthy and living, that’s what makes your body beautiful. It’s the only one you have so please take care of it. Be nice to yourself and allow yourself grace. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s something that I’ve had to learn very slowly. One of the reasons I don’t mention body types or anything regarding physical appearance in my fics is because I want those who read it to be able to see themselves in them. It doesn’t matter what your body looks like, you are beautiful♥️
