Who needs a vacation?
As much as I hate to speak well of the Daily Prophet and its associated hellsquad, I’d be neglecting my duty to journalism if I didn’t put Rodolphus Lestrange on the list. He just got stabbed by his lawyer-- I know we all saw that coming, but for his sake we should probably pretend like we didn’t.
While we’re on the subject of the Daily Profit, we shouldn’t forget Greta Catchlove. Needed a vacation, past tense, that is. Does anyone still seriously think she’s dead? I mean, we’ve got more proof in the Loch Ness Monster than in that load of malarkey.

GRETA CATCHLOVE is a 23 year old HALFBLOOD, a former HUFFLEPUFF, and a BOOK SHOP-KEEP who is a CIVILIAN and uses SHE/HER pronouns. They are categorized as CODE THREE. They are currently CLOSED.
Daisies in a finished bottle of wine or soda | True strength lies in persisting in the darkness | Shy glances at your crush | The smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls | Being underestimated for enjoying the simple things in life | Pressing flowers in notebooks | Muggle music playing from your records
HISTORY.
Greta Catchlove was welcomed into the world by two loving parents, who were beyond thrilled to have a beautiful baby girl.  Her childhood was almost idyllic – she spent her time doing things that she loved with the people that she loved.  Her parents fostered her creativity. Together, Greta and her parents would paint nonsense on blank canvases, read in the afternoon sun, hike, and spend their summers swimming and kayaking at nearby lakes.  She was always fascinated by the beauty of the world around her, spending hours sitting in the back garden, just taking all of the beauty in. Watching the ladybugs, caterpillars and ants go about their days, marveling at mushrooms and ferns and oak trees. Greta quickly became the kind of person to give bees water or to save a worm from the pavement.  The Catchlove’s never had an excess of money, but they were happy.
Her fascination with the world prompted Greta to start writing at a young age, at first making detailed notes about her observations, but then starting to run away with her imagination. She dreamt up tales of Princesses and Knights, life-sized ladybugs who could sing, tap dancing dragons, and much more, letting her vivid imagination run wild. When she was 11 and she received her Hogwarts letter, she was both excited and terrified. She’d never known anything other than life with her parents, but she was excited to embark on a new adventure, just like the ones that she made up in her imagination.
Tall and gangly, even for an 11-year-old, Greta made her way to Hogwarts, and was immediately sorted into Hufflepuff house. It wasn’t until she got to school that she realized the simple fact that not everyone was nice. She also had no idea how important blood status was becoming in the Wizarding world. Both of her parents were magical, but her Grandma was a Muggle, and Greta didn’t know how anyone could look down on someone as lovely as her Grandma. She never really excelled at her studies, but she never did poorly, either, enjoying subjects like Care of Magical Creatures and History of Magic more than Transfiguration or Charms. Greta enjoyed learning new things, but was never able to stop her imagination from running wild in the middle of her classes. She was friendly and warm, making a few friends, but was always a bit too introverted and sensitive to form any real bonds, worried about rejection from her more outgoing peers.
When the war started to rage, Greta knew that, while she absolutely held sympathies for those who were standing up to He Who Must Not Be Named and his band of bullies, she had nothing to offer the Order. She stayed neutral in the war, not because she didn’t support the cause, or think that everyone deserved to be treated equally, but because she was terrified for herself and her family. Greta was a writer, not a fighter, and didn’t feel strong or brave enough to make a difference. Her neutrality landed her the code three status, and even after the war ended, she has continued to try to keep her head down so as to not draw any attention. She may have been introverted before, but by the time the war ended, she had pretty much cut herself off from everyone, even her parents. They had both gone into hiding with Greta’s Grandma for her safety, and Greta is terrified for them all. She’s afraid that if she steps out of line, that something bad will happen to her family. There have been few who have been reaching out to her, and Greta appreciates it, trying to push herself to really form some deep connections.
After the war ended, Greta started to be plagued by guilt about her inaction, but she is very careful with who she lets her sympathies be known to. It is these sympathies that Sirius Black seems to be very aware of, and though her interactions with him have been pretty few and far between thus far, she’s incredibly worried of the dangers that come with being associated with Order members. It’s flattering that Sirius seems to think she’s capable of more than neutrality, but a small voice in the back of her head can’t help but think that he’s just grasping at straws for an ally. As usual, there’s an internal war raging inside her head - she’s still absolutely terrified of stepping a toe out of line in the new world order, but she’s starting to think that she needs to do more than just sit idly by while injustices happen. Greta is, of course, completely unaware that she’s being closely watched by the new regime, which is probably for the best, as knowing would completely ramp up her anxiety.
If there was one quality that her parents instilled into her, it was kindness. People tend to underestimate Greta because she’s soft spoken, gentle, and kind, but she thinks that there’s a great strength and courage in being kind in a cruel world. She is incredibly observant, noticing things about the world around her that others might miss. Though Greta is very sweet and kind, she tends to be quite sensitive, overly anxious, and overthinks things a lot. She’s more of a dreamer than a doer, letting herself get more lost in her imagination than she is grounded in reality. She has a good sense of humour when you get to know her, tries her best to be hopeful, is very down to earth, and cares incredibly deeply about others. Greta tends to be a bit gullible and naïve, is easily flustered and embarrassed, and certainly isn’t the most skilled witch of the bunch. She is, however, a very talented writer, and hopes that one day, by some miracle, the reign of terror will be over, and she’ll be able to publish one of the many books she’s started writing.
CONNECTIONS.
SIRIUS BLACK: Recruiter. Greta has caught him several times since he went into hiding along with the other newly minted fugitives of the law. She would never turn him in, since she doesn’t agree with the new Ministry or the treatment of muggleborns. However, she does wish he would stop coming to her and looking for her to join their cause. She can’t say how she truly feels about him seeing some strength in her that not many others have, but she doesn’t want to get involved in the dangers of the defeated Order of the Phoenix. She offers him all the help she can each time without accepting his offer to join.
ASLAN SHAFIQ: New Friend. They met at Flourish and Blotts when both were looking over books on herbology and charms. Truthfully, they both reached for the same book at the same time and their hands hit. Greta started talking to Aslan then and discovered that they had a lot in common in their interests and their views. She’s been keeping in touch with him since then and a new friendship is budding between them. It’s such a relief to her in these new days for her to find a new friend to fend off the darkness of the world with.
MOLLY WEASLEY: Companion. Greta started interviewing Molly for a book she was considering writing before the Death Eaters took over. She’d been playing with the idea of a book on charms one uses in the kitchen or one on herbology for your home. Over the afternoons with tea and little babbling babies on Molly’s knee, Great came to really appreciate the kindness, warmth and knowledge of the older witch. However, all hopes of her ever publishing a book like that, or about any topic, came to an end when the Ministry declared that only code ones could be published. She still enjoys talking to Molly when she can, even if it is no longer in pursuit of her book.
LUCINDA TALKALOT: Classmate. Though Lucinda was in a different house, Greta always admired her from afar when they were at Hogwarts. The two knew of each other, of course, being in the same year, and Greta always wanted to befriend Lucinda, but wasn’t entirely outgoing enough to know how. Greta always admired Lucinda’s take no prisoners attitude, respecting that she was a fighter who always stood up for herself. Lucinda always had qualities that Greta wished she could have more of – she would have loved to be able to stand up for herself more, but confrontation terrifies her. Since graduating, she’s seen Lucinda around, and always thinks about reaching out. She has nothing to lose, and isn’t quite sure what’s stopping her.

THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC YOUTH MASQUERADE BALL.
Peace. That was the overlapping message in every missive the Ministry has been sending out over these last few months — years, even. The wizarding society should strive for peace, these are tumultuous times, and instead of fighting over our differences, we should celebrate the things we have in common. Unfortunately, the Ministry struggled to find things that all wixen had in common, not without it being turned into a complete laughing stock. Until Madam Marianne Edgecomb, head of the Ministry’s research committee, presented an idea that was not entirely half bad: target the youth.
And so, the Ministry of Magic Youth Masquerade Ball was born. After strong-arming the Headmaster, they even found a way to make sure nearly everyone would attend. As an extra incentive, any student attending would receive a small amount of extra credit in a subject of their choosing at Hogwarts — if they didn’t, they would receive an invitation for a private conversation with their head of house, to discuss why they would not support an event that was set up in the spirit of peace.
As a final security measure, alongside the Aurors trailing the sides of the room, of course, they decided to make the event a masquerade, the anonymity of everyone wearing a mask being both so that none would fear to attend, but also that conversations could be had without judgment from either side of the ongoing conflict. Invitations were sent out to all students of Hogwarts, as well as some more recent alumni —
THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC CORDIALLY INVITES YOU TO A NIGHT OF MASKED REVELRY IN THE BALLROOM OF HEARST MANOR, OUTSIDE LONDON.
Further details, about the incentive offered to all students (and in the fine print, the punishment for not attending), the dress code (formal), and the rules (you must behave, or face the authorities) were also included, but most readers were likely already picking out their attire by the time the invitation mentioned that.
OOC INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND UNDER THE CUT.
And just like that — we are open for interactions! Both Ana and I are ridiculously excited to start writing with all of you lovely people. Here are some quick notes about the event:

JAMES SIRIUS POTTER HEADCANONS PT.1
hates it when people call him jamie
is currently the seeker for puddlemere united but wants to become an auror when his quidditch career is over
pansexual and is v open and v proud of it
his patronus is a stag like harry’s and james’
favourite subjects at school were transfiguration, defense against the dark arts & astronomy
has literally never been in a serious relationship but has actually been with a lot of people
can and will destroy you on karaoke
is a total emo
nearly always has chipped polish on his nails
his hair grows too fast so he has to cut it way too often and even then he only gets a little bit cut off because he likes the messy, bedraggled look
is an animagus (a black wolf which looks scarily similar to the dog sirius black turned into) but he’s got his family convinced he can turn into a turtle
has smoked since he was seventeen but has tried (and probably failed) to hide it from the fam and his quidditch coaches
but has tried to quit eleven times. the longest he lasted was nine days
suffers from pretty severe anxiety
mostly because he put too much pressure on himself at school to be like his namesakes and his dad
is actually really intelligent. he got the highest marks in his exams at school and is probably on par with how hermione was in school but he downplays it because he has to be the ‘joker’ and ‘the funny one’ so not a lot of people know how clever he actually is
contrary to popular belief, he didn’t actually make mcgonagall’s life a living hell while he was at school
in fact, she was probably the only professor he actually made a conscious effort to behave for
and sometimes when his anxiety got bad or he was putting too much pressure on himself, he would end up in mcgonagall’s office and would have a cup of tea (or as many as it took) with her until he’d calmed down
he often joked that she was his school grandma (not to her face, obviously) and still writes letters to her now
and definitely sends her tickets to his quidditch games that are during the summer holidays
she’s the only person that knows he really wants to be an auror
if he ever has a daughter, he’s decided to follow on with the potter tradition of naming their kids after someone and he’ll call her minnie
minerva mcgonagall means a lot to him okay
he’s literally COVERED in random tattoos, he’s like a human notepad
the tattoos that mean most to him are his tattoo of 'dad’ written on his outer forearm just below his hand, and another are the feet from the marauder’s map (and they’re actually charmed to walk around his body so he never knows where tf they are but he loves them)
has a cat called alan
and an owl called greta (after greta catchlove, the author of 'charm your own cheese’ because he found it hilarious)

                                 COOKING WITH CATCHLOVE
April 11, 1980
With the war raging on and the paper constantly reporting chaos, it's odd to think of someone having the time to sit down and read a complete book, much less actually write one, but that's exactly what Greta Catchlove has done, her cookbook due to hit shelves this week. "It was one of the most enjoyable times of my life." She says of the writing process. "I love being in the kitchen, so working on new recipes was great for me… And for my friends, who all volunteered to be my official testers!"
Very kind friends to volunteer to taste the unknown and give their feedback, but soon enough people all through the country will be trying out her food and using her recipes for guidance. When asked if she has any fans, Catchlove responded, "Everyone’s been so lovely. I’ve had a lot of letters from people who read my articles, saying that they can’t wait for the book to come out. I’ve also had some people who have stumbled across my sample recipes, who say they’re looking forward to seeing some more."
For those of you unaware, Miss Catchlove is a writer here at the Daily Prophet who offers her insight onto local restaurants and is considered to be an expert on fine dining, although her book shows she's not limited to that. Now that she's expanding beyond the Daily Prophet, what of the success that she's certain to encounter? "Aside from the lovely letters, I don’t know if its really impacted my life that much right now. I’m a little more worried about taking the bins out in my slippers, but that’s all!"
Yet another thing our readers may be unaware of is Miss Catchlove's blood status, a very delicate subject these days which can stir up tensions, but since she's going to be in the public eye, we thought it fitting to ask if she finds it difficult being a successful muggleborn. "I have been told that it is either brave or stupid of me to choose this moment to put myself into the public eye. Maybe they’re right, but… We have to know that life doesn’t stop because there are terrible things happening out there. The rest of us need to stick together and make sure we’re still living our lives - and part of that means coming together to eat great food."
Everyone needs to eat and we had one final question for Greta Catchlove. And what do you say to those that insist that books written by muggleborns have no placing in  a wizarding bookstore? "I would say that magic chose us as much as it chose them, and our books are just as valuable."

“There's no plan, there's no race to be run. The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun. There's no plan, there's no kingdom to come. I'll be your man, if you got love to get done.”
GRETA CATCHLOVE / TWENTY-FIVE
BLOOD STATUS: MUGGLEBORN OCCUPATION: UTP ORDER STATUS: NON-MEMBER GENDER: TRANS  PRONOUNS: SHE/HER
↳ INTRODUCTION
A flash of pink messy hair, a forgotten tea kettle screaming on your stovetop, and a dozen unfinished works of art. You are always in motion, here one minute and gone the next. If you could, you’d sprout wings and never stop flying from place to place. After all, the chaos you’ve designed is the only home you’ve ever needed. Thus far, your ‘catch me if you can’ mentality has kept you safe from this war, but now it’s become nearly impossible to escape. Sweet and naive, if darkness came knocking, you’d answer the door with a laugh and a shrug before it consumed you whole.
GRETA CATCHLOVE IS OPEN.
↳ STORY
The letter that arrived on Greta’s doorstep when they were eleven might as well have been a winning lottery ticket. Growing up in poverty, there was very little Greta had to call their own. Everything was shared, passed around and handed down until it was beyond use, but this, this was theirs and no one could take it away from them. For the first time in their life, they had a sense of stability. Greta’s parents were constantly starting new jobs, sometimes they’d claim they’d ‘found their calling,’ but more often than not it was just another odd job to pay the bills. Their parents had been painters, line cooks, woodworkers, and even tried to open up a little bakery at some point. Greta was exposed to so many different talents and skills, they picked many of them up themselves. It was no different at Hogwarts, although, they were often more interested in unusual topics, rather than their core classes. They were a talented wix, but they favored subjects considered less useful by most: ancient runes, herbology, divination. They even spent some time in the kitchens with the house elves, learning how to cook. With Their mind occupied by so many different topics, it’s no wonder that Greta was oblivious to the early signs of the war. For many years, they were even unaware of the prejudice some purebloods held against them. In Greta’s mind they teased them because they were different, because they celebrated the odd and unusual. Little did they know, to them, they themselves were the odd and unusual. After Hogwarts, Greta left the United Kingdom behind. From their studies, they knew there was so much more out there to experience. They traveled from country to country, learned a few different languages and new kinds of magic, fell in and out of love multiple times, and even wrote a book. It wasn’t until the news about the Godric’s Hollow massacre reached France that they even heard about the war.
They were in a small cafe; the radio was faintly playing a song that sounded similar to ‘La Vie en Rose,’ but Greta couldn’t quite place. As they listened, suddenly, the music cut and a man with a panicked voice came on. The clerk at the counter turned up the broadcast, and the entire cafe sat in silence as they listened to the voice describe the massacre. An entire town, wiped out. He said unconfirmed reports had tied the attack to he who must not be named. Greta had lived in ignorance for so long, this was the first time they’d ever heard of him, but it was clear from the terrified faces of the other people in the cafe that he was someone to be feared. Greta poured over newspaper clippings, hoping to learn more about the man they’d now come to know as Lord Voldemort, a man that had instilled so much fear in the wizarding world, that people refused to call him by name. Greta had been through hardships, but they’d never experienced true darkness like the kind Voldemort was brining to the wizarding world. They couldn’t understand why he hated people like them so much, but they would. Greta became consumed with their search to learn more about the man who threatened to topple the wizarding world as they knew it. They read every article they could find, listened to every broadcast in safety, whole countries away from the war, but nine words and Greta’s naive curiosity would bring them back to the United Kingdom. Not long after hearing about the massacre, Greta rigged up an old radio so they could get wizarding broadcasts from a few different countries. They were switching through the stations when they’d finally settled on the thick accent of a young Irish woman. She spoke not of the terror Voldemort was bringing to the wizarding world, but of an uprising against him. She was the first voice Greta heard that had any confidence to it, the only person that seemed to have any faith that Voldemort would be defeated. At the end of her broadcast, she signed off with a single phrase: “The Order of the Phoenix will save us all.”
It was difficult finding any other mention of such an Order, but if anyone could find them, it was Greta. They had to know why this woman had such confidence in this group, why she was so sure they were going to win the war. As Voldemort’s influence began to spread throughout other parts of Europe, Greta’s search became about more than just their curiosity, but about their survival. They tried to hide her terror behind their research, but with the passing of each day they became more and more desperate, until they did the unthinkable. When they stepped foot in Godric’s Hollow, Greta was convinced their search had come to a dead end. Broken glass from shattered windows still littered the streets, and many of the homes were boarded up and condemned. The town was abandoned. Still, there was one clue to who might have been there, at some point. In the middle of Godric’s Hollow stood a cemetery, and while those inside were long gone, outside stood a wood fence covered in photos posted there with hope that the people in them were still alive. They peered closer at each photo until they came to one, a blonde woman who they did not recognize by her face, but by the name scribbled underneath. Glenda Chittock. It was the woman they’d heard on the radio, the woman who was so confident in this Order of the Phoenix. They ripped the photo off the fence and began to stuff it into their bag, when a woman in red appeared out of nowhere. “No!” she screamed, as she pulled out her wand. Before Greta could react, the woman had knocked them off their feet, and everything began to fade away.
When Greta finally came to, they couldn’t tell how much time had passed or where they were.  They were tied down on a metal table, in a room that almost looked like a makeshift hospital; dirty white curtains hanging from the ceiling separated them from a group of four or five people. They were whispering, and Greta couldn’t quite make out what they were saying. They tried to pull themselves free from the bindings, but the more they struggled the tighter they got. When they pulled back the curtains, Greta was convinced their life was over, their search was over and Lord Voldemort was destined to win, but when one of the women pulled out a wand, instead of casting a green flash that would end their life, she untied the binds. “Don’t run,” the woman said, before introducing herself as Alice. She said her pink-tinted hair had given them away; they were one of the many muggleborns that purebloods would tease while they were at Hogwarts. Although they didn’t know each other, Alice had been in the same year at Hogwarts. As they looked at each of the people who’d been behind the curtain, Greta realized what they’d done. They had found the Order of the Phoenix.

✗ THE RISING TIDES
❝ There’s a storm coming, and we’d all best be ready when it does.❞
July 13th
In an attempt to further their image and promote their side of the war, Aidan Avery makes a public donation on the behalf of Tom Riddle in double to St. Mungo’s to help rebuilding immediately.
July 18th - July 24th
Edgar Bones is the first to discover the disappearance of Cassandra Burke. When Albus Dumbledore and the leaders of the Order fail to acknowledge the possibility of her kidnapping, Edgar forms search parties led by himself, Gilderoy Lockhart, and Hestia Jones. They discover a lead, but it doesn’t lead them to Cassandra. Instead, they find Amelia Bones alive, a year after her disappearance.
After being taken to the restored hospital and refusing treatment, Amelia seeks out a meeting with Aversio’s leader and their second hands Selina Sapworthy and Florence Wilson, where it is discovered that she has changed. Months of torture and captivity have made her hungry for revenge by any means necessary, and the leader of Aversio begins making plans to use her drive to their advantage.
July 27th
Having been taken to the castle, and seeing the shaky alliance that has been built, Amelia Bones engages in an argument with Albus Dumbledore, Marlene McKinnon, and other members of the Order for their trust of Cassandra Burke and their strategies. She rallies for violence against Death Eaters and those employed by the Ministry for Magic. After calling on her brother for support, Edgar Bones is forced to decide who he wants to fight for.
July 31st - August 5th
The new opinions of Amelia Bones begin making rounds, and the leader of Aversio urges Florence Wilson and Selina Sapworthy to use her anger to their advantage. With the help of Pandora Lightwood, new protests are orchestrated that only grow more violent as they go forward. In the process, a boycott of the Aurors begins. Aversio and Order members alike grow distrustful of anyone working in the Ministry, and violent outbursts become more public spectacle in the passing day.
August 7th
Hestia Jones releases an article for the Daily Prophet chronicling the recovery of Amelia Bones, vocalizing the involvement of the Death Eaters in her disappearance and subsequent torture. The article successfully stirs up more speculation and distrust of the Ministry, and the journalist is consequently laid off.
August 9th
Gilderoy Lockhart meets with Rita Skeeter behind a locked door. He warns of a possible Aversio attack against the Daily Prophet, and the name of Andromeda Tonks as a key member of Aversio is brought to light. She is later brought in by Aurors for questioning, and detained for several days in the hopes of gaining information. Augustus Rookwood is assigned the task of standing watch over the Daily Prophet Headquarters, and later enlists the assistance of Cygnus Black and Antonin Dolohov.
The night is as dark as the intentions of the Aversio members who take to the streets of Diagon Alley. Some members continue to hide their identities behind a mask while others wear a newfound pride of their allegiance, but all are determined to make a statement against the Death Eater propaganda. The Daily Prophet Headquarters burns bright until sunrise, with Augustus Rookwood and Cygnus Black barely making it out alive.
August 11th
Hestia Jones is considered the prime suspect in the arson due to her grievances against the Daily Prophet, and is detained by Aurors for questioning. Later that day, as specialized teams return to the Prophet to search the rubble, the disturbing discovery is made of Antonin Dolohov whose dismembered body has been burnt and is only identifiable from his head, atop a spike in the center of the wreckage.
Without a proper source of information, rumors grow and fear spreads through the city like a contagion.
August 12th - August 15th
From the ashes of losing London’s only news source, Xenophilius Lovegood begins an Aversio propaganda known at The Quibbler with the private funds anonymously given by Marlene McKinnon. Edgar Bones is quick to offer his help in writing, with the intention of staying close to Aversio, hoping to keep a close eye on his sister.
Hestia Jones is released from Auror custody. As she is leaving, she is cornered by Cassius Mulciber, who has heard rumors of a possible Aversio propaganda and threatens Hestia should she choose to take part in it.
In the wake of the violence subjected by Aversio, a rift begins to form in their alliance with the Order, and the flaws of the two groups’ fragile peace agreement are brought to light. The shared castle is struck with great speculation and rising tensions that threaten to reach a boiling point at any passing moment.
August 16th
A funeral is held for Antonin Dolohov.
Andromeda Tonks is released and allowed to return home, only to be stopped by Rodolphus Lestrange on her way out of the ministry. Harsh words as exchanged between the in-laws as the pair is no stranger to calling each other what they are. Words nearly come to blows before passerby stop the Minister for a quick discussion, giving Andromeda the opportunity to get away.
August 18th - 20th
Against the wishes of Amelia Bones, the search for Cassandra Burke continues, with the public soon getting involved in the mysterious disappearance. In an attempt to deter these attempts to find her, Rodolphus Lestrange releases the stored memories of her past crimes to the public, successfully labeling her as a criminal best left lost.
August 21st - August 23rd
Hours before a highly publicized Falmouth Falcons match, Emma Vanity’s home is found in a state of disarray, with her nowhere to be found. There is no trace of her, with nothing but a scarlet A for Aversio etched across the floor. She is declared missing within hours. Andromeda Tonks is a prime suspect after her scuttle with the Minister of Magic, and flees her home to avoid being detained by the Aurors again.
In the abandoned moors surrounding the Order's safe castle, Bellatrix Lestrange lurks with her father Cygnus Black. Thirsty for vengeance and having decided to take actions into their own hands, they stay in wait until Edgar Bones makes himself known. The pair jumps at the opportunity, and just as quick as one of their own was taken, Edgar is declared missing.
August 24th - 31st
After weeks of torture and memory raiding, Cassandra Burke is released, seemingly unharmed, by her capture Walden Macnair under the Imperius Charm in a Death Eater attempt to gain information about the Order. She becomes the personal assistant of Rodolphus Lestrange, convincing Albus Dumbledore that the position will be used to spy on the Death Eaters. Still, many Order and Aversio members remain suspicious of her intentions and mental stability, as they should.
Birthdays
July 13th: Andromeda Tonks
July 21st: Marlene McKinnon, Marcus McKinnon
August 21st: Pandora Lockwood
August 22nd: Greta Catchlove
The role of Amelia Bones is now open and available for applications. The role of Antonin Dolohov is now permanently closed.
*Please message the main if you have any questions about this plot drop and we’ll attempt to clear everything up for you. Your character can be a lot more involved than they are in this – as it is only a rough outline and we tried to leave a lot of things open to interpretation, or for characters to step in. Please don’t write past August 31st in game time.

MARGRETA "GRETA" CATCHLOVE is A NEUTRAL in the war, even though HER official job is as A PASTRY CHEF. the TWENTY-EIGHT year old MUGGLEBORN is known to be COMPASSIONATE and OPTIMISTIC but also INSECURE and NAIVE. some might label them as THE EBULLIENT.
so, i will give a quick run-down of her life at hogwarts then go on to what she is doing now. her life pre-hogwarts was honestly pretty simple. she lived in a small village with her two loving parents. her dad worked as the town’s doctor. her mum stayed at home to take care of the kids. yes, her life was just your average, ordinary muggleborn sort-of life which was fine with greta. she had a simple life, but it was a happy life.. with parents that loved her and two younger twin brothers that irritated the hell out of her. and while the girl was a wide-eyed dreamer that played pretend in the fields around her home, she never would have quite guessed her life would take the turn that it did.
her parents always noticed that there was something different about their daughter, but they always tried to shrug it off. surely the strange occurances happening around her were just circumstancial. but, what could be circumstancial about greta’s favorite flowers coming back to life when they definitely weren’t in season? eventually answers were found when a bespectacled witch appeared on the catchlove’s doorstep to tell them that their daughter was special. the idea of going to a magical wizarding school was something that greta could scarcely comprehend. but, it was thrilling.
greta was much like a child on christmas day when she arrived at hogwarts. wide-eyed, full of wonder. the idea of magic was exciting to a muggleborn that had only ever heard of such in stories. the world that she had entered was unfortunately not as brilliant as it first appeared. she was, of course, subjected to the same sort of ridicule that every muggleborn is. it was something that she eventually learned to let roll off her back over time. see bury her true insecurity about it deep down inside. she instead met the adversity with a smile choosing to meet cruelty with kindness and hard-work. most of her time at hogwarts was dedicated to proving that she could be a great witch and showing kindness to those that she felt needed it.
greta’s occupation is as a pastry chef at a bakery in muggle london–and she loves it. she has been in the kitchen since she could walk. it started when she would follow her mum around and grew into a larger obsession when she gained knowledge about cooking spells. honestly, if she could sleep in the kitchen, she would. her favorite thing to do is to cook for people. she has been known to weasle her way into the hearts of many by coming about in her gentle way with a soft smile and a warm meal.
she is technically neutral, but her loyalty obviously lies with the order. she just isn’t an active participant within the organization. she offers order members a place to stay when they are in need of it and is always happy to cook for them. she just.. isn’t out there fighting on the front lines with everyone else yet.

PANDORA KANE
Occupation: Astronomy Professor Age: 24 Gender: Female Pronouns: She/Her Blood status: Muggleborn Allegiance: Neutral Faceclaim: Lily James
The daughter of two muggle astronomers, your parents taught you to look up and dream of bigger things. Now is not the best time to be a muggleborn, but you have always been able to look past the darkness of war and see more - see the better world to come. You’ve dreamed of working in experimental magic and you know your day will come, but now no one wants to hire the daughter of two muggle astronomers. So you’ve found yourself work that at least can pay the bills, helping write for a magazine start up. It’s fascinating work with fascinating people, that leaves room for you to keep dreaming of those bigger things - and has left you discovering new dreams as well.
HISTORY:
Pandora Kane was born among the stars, the moon practically being her sister. Both her parents were astronomers and as a little girl it put in perspective how small the world really is.  practically knowing the stars in the sky. Even her name had a trace of stardust on it after the Pandora cluster. Pandora admired her amazingly inventive parents for raising her to be independent and creative with everything she did. Her parents became her best friends and teachers as she was homeschooled. Among being creative she also followed her parents interests in astronomy and science and fell in love with the stars. She had always imagined herself following in her parents footsteps and being a scientist of some sort as well. When she got her letter to Hogwarts it came as a surprise but they were all excited for what this meant.
Once at school she was singled out as being odd which she was fine with. As she grew into herself she was more aware of herself and other people. She was attracted to bright minds and those who thought differently. Her close group of friends surrounded her in knowledge, something she admired about everyone in her life. The way people think is the most interesting thing at all. Of course once she could take Astronomy as an elective she took it every term. It’s still one of her favorite things in the world and loves the subject perhaps too much. Magic gave her a purpose and an even better insight into astronomy. Going to a place full of magic extended her world of science and something that still fascinates her today. She loved her other classes as well.
With the days getting more and more darker at Hogwarts and after, Pandora feels like uncomfortable in her own skin to be a muggleborn. Sometimes it feels like a target is painted on her back but she has been skilled at shoving it off. Being insulted because of her blood was something she just got used to during her time at Hogwarts and after a while it was just white noise to her. Sometimes the jeers would be too much and she would hold her head high before sobbing in the bathrooms. She is always a positive person even now. Her father always told her to be the light in the darkness and she has stuck to that mindset. With everything going on she takes happiness with her friends and her house pride along with her passion for astronomy.
CONNECTIONS:

Greta Catchlove: Closest friend
Xenophilius Lovegood: Former employer
Sybill Trelawney: Former housemate and good friends

Who are the cutest platonic pairs?
I think it’s cute to watch Greta Catchlove and Pandora Kane be together, it amplifies the giddiness in a room and they start putting out a carefree air. It’s almost cartoonishly sweet how they seem to want only the best for each other.
Edgar Bones with Asher Westenberg or Anson Wood, if only for the nicknames. although who knows, maybe Edgar wouldn’t be so close with Asher if he knew how the man felt about a certain dress on a certain sibling.
The anti social, not couple of the year is Zahi Shafiq and Theodora Rowle, who are too anti-social to be part of real couples. Shame it didn’t work out for them, they share the same preference for non-humans.
Girls may not be his thing, but they seem to like Zephyr Bell. His friendships with Daisy Hookum is sweet, but she should watch out - his friendship with Juniper Dunbar may win out as the most entertaining.

DORCAS MEADOWES ♦︎ HUFFLEPUFF ALUMNA ♦︎ ORDER MEMBER ♦︎ FC: KATE SIEGEL ♦︎ TAKEN
B I O G R A P H Y :
(tw: death, tw: abuse, tw: violence) Dorcas typically never recanted tales from her childhood to anyone. She faintly remembers the large house she grew up in, but recalls it always being empty. The walls were bare of art and there was minimal furniture. Her parents’ voices would echo throughout the concrete fixture–their arguments only increasing as she grew older and, in turn, became harder for them to control. It started out like the most basic of arguments between a husband and wife: first finances were tight, then the family business began to fail, but one day it shifted suddenly to that of a much darker nature. Cyril Grey was convinced there was something wrong with his daughter. He was a devout man of faith who strongly believed the forces of good and evil were man’s ultimate moral compass. Witnessing his daughter’s “gifts,” as his wife Sophelia referenced them as, he was convinced Dorcas was anything but gifted. She was cursed, if not a curse bestowed upon him for years of living in sin.
Sophelia Meadowes-Grey disagreed with her entire heart. After all, the only thing she ever wanted was a child of her own. The couple had tried for years and years without success. After suffering through numerous losses, Cyril became convinced a child wasn’t part of their designated plan. A few more years passed until his wife became pregnant with their daughter. At this point, they were older than the average parents; Sophie was 45 when she gave birth to Dorcas, but at the time both her and Cyril considered her to be the greatest blessing.
The happiness was very short-lived. Before Dorcas could even walk, she was constantly being berated by her father. It first began in the most nonchalant of ways, like a door becoming locked that shouldn’t have been or important paperwork disappearing–never to be seen again. Sophie couldn’t understand why her husband was so convinced these harmless acts were the work of a baby, but Cyril was hell-bent on his ideologies. He shied away from giving Dorcas any affection. The older she grew, the more certain he was; she was an abomination. The moment he spoke his true feelings about their daughter to his wife, their marriage was over. At least emotionally because divorce was certainly not an option for a man of his beliefs; he essentially held Sophie hostage in their marriage for the rest of her life.
As Dorcas grew older, she was practically barred from leaving the house. Cyril’s desire to hide Dorcas away from the rest of the world outweighed his desire for anything else and he knew that his wife would never dare leave without her. That’s when Dorcas learned at an early age that walls and regulations weren’t enough to keep her confined to any one place. Her parents fighting increased the older she became and eventually she resorted to doing the only thing she could think of to find solitude: running away. Cyril always ended up finding her before she slipped too far though and her disobedience was met with closefisted rage. His message was conveyed in a variety of different ways. Sometimes it would be delivered across her face in the form of a piercing slap or an abrupt jerk to her shoulder blades and, though the emotion of regret often varied in his face afterwards, he always stood behind his word that she was well-deserving of it.
When Dorcas’ Hogwarts letter finally arrived, she was beside herself. Finally things were becoming clearer, though her father didn’t share in her enthusiasm. It felt like the final nail in the coffin–the confirmation he had been waiting for since she was a child. He didn’t dare call her a witch (he insisted it was a dirty word coined by the devil) nor did he acknowledge her magical abilities. If he had, he felt he might as well be condemning himself further.
Dorcas eventually started her first year at Hogwarts. Prior to that, she made the decision to shed her family name and adopt her mother’s maiden name Meadowes instead. Sophelia ended up passing later that year and Dorcas made the difficult decision not to return home. Those initial years on her own were the most difficult to digest as she attempted to maneuver living a life on her own in a world she couldn’t quite comprehend. Working random summer jobs to make ends meet was not sustainable and quickly she realized she was going to have to shift her focus elsewhere. That’s when her interest in the outside world began to expand–she took up a keen interest in politics and criminology pertaining to the Wizarding World. It was as if she had been instilled with a sense of justice and a craving for revenge overnight. She often wondered if that was the result of growing up with a fanatic for a father. She had a strange fascination for the workings of the world and the psychosis of each individual around her, but it wasn’t until she was nearing the end of her sixth year at Hogwarts that the witch was provided with some redirection her life was desperately in need of. A destructive rampage landed the now sixteen year old with an entire month’s worth of detention, but rather than just seeing her as a problem child like so many before him had, one of her professors witnessed something else entirely.
As Dorcas continued growing, she continued to keep putting walls up. She didn’t know if it was because she was ashamed of who she was or where she came from, but she knew those factors played a significant role. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why occlumency came so natural for the brazen young witch. She always expressed an interest in the subject, however, it wasn’t until she was working under an instructor’s guidance during her remaining years of school that she truly began to excel. Her final years at Hogwarts were fleeting; she passed the time with lots of quidditch. As a seeker she was able to greatly nurture her flying skills, which eventually allowed her to lead into a career as a Hit Witch. Dorcas was then introduced to a handful of people who became more than simple best friends ever could. They became her family–the only one she would ever truly know, which would not be complete until after she was recruited to join the Order of the Phoenix shortly after graduating. Though a strong-hold for the Order, she walks a dangerous line between both sides misguided by her own skewed moral compass. In an attempt not to succumb to her own power-hungry demons, she hurls herself headfirst into the arms of war as she claims no one but she is the great decider of her fate.

WHATS IN YOUR FILE.
NAME: Bellatrix Black. GENDER & PRONOUNS: Cisfemale, she/her. HOUSE & YEAR: Slytherin, 7th. BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood. AFFILIATION: Death Eaters.
WHAT DO THE RUMORS SAY.
POSITIVES: Fascinating, Intuitive, Alluring. NEGATIVES: Amoral, Sadistic, Manipulative.  LOOKS LIKE: Elizabeth Gillies.
WHAT IS THE TRUE STORY.
The firstborn, and the perfect heir for her parents.
Used the Cruciatus Curse for the first time at age eleven.
She is entirely loyal to her Dark Lord, and is his lieutenant.
Betrothed to Rodolphus from age fourteen, but has been fighting the wedding off.
One of the most formidable duellists in the wizarding world.
SHE WAS TOLD TO GROW A SPINE AND GROW ONE DID SHE EVER —
The product of Druella Rosier and Cygnus Black, Bellatrix was nothing if not the apple of her mother’s eye, and something that produced a source of pride for her father. They say she came out; kicking and screaming into this Earth; with molten eyes and a smile made for war. Her parents demanded perfection, and so it was perfection that she would bring. She might have been the eldest child, the favoured in her father’s eyes — but that did not mean his immediate respect and love. No, she had to gain it like another. And it was under her father’s hand that she moulded to become the perfect little soldier. One that grew up to learn the art of war in lessons taught by her father. Whilst other heirs may have learnt to become the proper pureblooded child, she was taught the extra step. And whilst she may have looked like any other, beneath her charming smile and lilting words lay the beating heart of one who was made for much more. She would be the pride and joy of her family; pushing the Black name to the forefront of high society.
Yet in the midst of Bellatrix’s tutelage to become the heir that her father so demanded, she had come to adore her younger sisters; the pair that she had come to cherish and treasure. They were the one flame that she would not snuff, and they were what she sought to protect. Her father had often taught her that family came first; and that was more than apparent when it came to the eldest Black and others. If anyone dared to come near her Andie or Cissa, they knew that they would be risking the wrath of Bellatrix, the one who would swoop in to save either in their times of need. Perhaps the only things she loved in this world, but it suited her. She would become steel for them. Unbreakable, resistant to all harm, in order to be their shield. And at the end of the day, they were the only people that she would risk everything for — perhaps to even lay down her life.
HER VERTEBRAE HAS BROKEN THROUGH HER SKIN LIKE SHARP KNIVES, WINGS HAVE SPROUTED FROM HER BACKBONES —
And it was so that she learnt any spell she could uncover, developing a slight sadistic tendency when it came to inflicting pain onto other creatures. At the age of eleven, she discovered the forbidden curses in a diary of a long ago deceased Black relative, curious to see the possible ramifications and effects such curses could lay waste to on other creatures. Yet instead of asking her father about the Cruciatus curse, she decided that she would take it upon herself to discover how exactly to cast it. And one afternoon, as she cast it onto a stray bug that had landed in her room, she watched with fascination at the way it writhed and struggled beneath her command. Bellatrix had always been interested in the outcomes of certain spells, but this seemed to draw her attention, especially with the word ‘forbidden’ associated with it.
It came to be that by the time Bellatrix arrived at Hogwarts at the age of twelve, she was far more prepared than any other child. She had been taught all types of subjects under various tutors; the more sinister spells and potions one needed by her father, how to charm others into being underestimated by her mother, and she had two wands just in case the dear Headmaster decided to check their wands in case her acts were detected. She knew it was a time to further her connections; ones that she had already had since a young age from social gatherings, but it was an opportunity for her to be able to develop her own system of ‘little birds’ in able to gain the upper hand in all situations for the Black family. For so long, they had been hearing whispers of a certain Dark Lord beneath the shadows, one that sought for a new world — dominated by purebloods, and her father had commanded her to learn as much as she could.
HER TEETH HAVE GROWN INTO FANGS, SHE HAS BECOME A DEADLY DRAGON —
And do that, she certainly had. Within the first couple of years within Hogwarts, she had easily established her reign within Slytherin. They had come to fear, yet love such a creature as her; one that rewarded those who offered her information that came to be useful, punishing those who decided to irritate or disobey her commands. And through these connections did she ever learn about the Dark Lord Voldemort, one that she had been curious to uncover more details about ever since the rumours had begun. Utilising a proxy as an invitation to meet the man himself, Bellatrix found herself enamoured in a way she had never been before. Seduced by the promise of power and glory for her family; and the creation of a new world at her feet, she swore her fealty to Him, knowing that beneath his command that they would forge something beautiful.
This allegiance had suddenly changed the game for Bellatrix. She was suddenly thrust forth the ranks for the Dark Lord, as he came to see how useful she could be. With many connections forging throughout Hogwarts itself to offer new individuals in the ranks, power dripping at her fingertips and intelligence to match; she was a formidable match. And whilst others would have been jealous at the ease she had found in moving through the circles to reach the upper circle, to be placed as a Lieutenant by his side; her duelling and spell casting ability quickly disrupted their disagreements. Just like the students of Hogwarts, they came to fear and respect the young Black girl, one that had seemed to do the impossible. Yet there was just one problem that it seemed she could not remove. At the age of fourteen, Bellatrix had been betrothed to one certain Rodolphus Lestrange. Angered and irritated at the thought of being united in marriage to any individual, she had implored her Lord for any solution.
AND SHE ISN’T AFRAID TO BITE —
She had always been a faithful follower to her parents, and certainly to her Dark Lord, heeding every command. But Bellatrix couldn’t fathom nor imagine being married. And her Lord’s solution delighted Bellatrix, encouraging her to be an even more faithful servant, regardless of the consequences. With his promise to remove the impending marriage if she would help him deliver the world upon a platter, she easily agreed, knowing that this would be done within the impending next few years as their plans continued. The thought of marriage still agitates Bellatrix, and horrifies her. And if there is anything that can be done, she will do it in order to remove the betrothal. Yet one part of her is resigned to her fate, although she will never be a demure pureblooded bride like so many of her followers. She is the Lieutenant to her Dark Lord, and one of the most respected duellists in the Wizarding World. And they’re yet to see the full brunt of her capabilities.
WHAT ARE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS.
NARCISSA & ANDROMEDA: Sisters, wishes to protect. RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE: Betrothed, prefers to avoid. EMMA VANITY: Close friends since childhood. LUCIUS MALFOY: Former old flame. GRETA CATCHLOVE: Finds bemusing to torment.

A 7th year.  A badger. A Muggleborn. [Lucien Laviscount, Kofi, Siriboe, John Boyega].
The Story:
Bio up to player
The Night of the Attack:
What were they doing? You knew most of your classmates were celebrating the end of term. Several of your friends were probably three sheets to the wind at Potter’s party. Ted was off who-knows-where as he often was. You hadn’t even planned on going anywhere at all.
What happened? You had only just decided to go find Mary, only just stepped outside of the common room when the screaming started. DADA had never been your favorite subject, dueling never really drawn your fancy. But that night you had to rely upon everything you had to get out alive.
And since? You could have gone home to your family. But for what? Just to draw a target on their back? You were lucky to have friends like Ted, Lily, and Mary. You watched each other’s backs, looked out for one another. And more than that, they’ve driven you to be better. You swore you would never be complacent again.
And now? Back in the castle, you could almost pretend nothing has changed. But you have. Your wand is quicker and your trust perhaps shorter. But all that means is you are more ready to protect those you care about.

Hey hey! I’m Jules, patron st. of chipotle, I also play Emmeline Vance, but here’s a bio for Greta under the cut. TW: Depression, neglect.
When people see Greta, a bright smile on her face almost at all times and just a generally sunny disposition, one would think that nothing really troubles her. She comes off as funny, a bright light in the lives of all those around her as well as a sage of sorts – giving advice to any who need it and being the one her friends go to. Greta seems to be at peace, happiness personified and while she does her best to hide it, to hide the hurt, the truth is — Greta is anything but truly happy or peaceful. Though, this doesn’t stop her from trying to find peace and happiness while disguising the pain.
In holiday in England, her mother, Nora Fine met a man named Alden Catchlove, and a love affair began. Passionate, but not meant to last ( something they both knew), they made a mistake.
That mistake was Greta Adelaide Catchlove born on July 20th. Her parents weren’t looking to have children so young really, nor were they married, but when her mother found out she was pregnant with Greta, the decision to get married was really one of the only choices they had. Even though they were severely mismatched, it didn’t stop them from trying. Nora was wild at times and he was forever calm, she believed in never talking about issues, acting as if they weren’t even there,  Alden faced things head on – or at least tried to. For a while, they were good parents to their daughter. But the tension built, fighting in some way or another was a daily occurrence. Young Greta watched and couldn’t help but feel it was her fault. If she hadn’t been born, they’d be happy or at least without her. She was the problem, the wedge and the unwanted glue keeping them together. The chaos rubbed off on her, the anger, the resentment was something she practically soaked in like a sponge – it was what she deserved anyways, right? Her family was in shambles and her parents in metaphorical shackles, it was her fault. From a young age, Greta found herself to feel deeply sad most of the time, even though she went through lengths to hide it — depression was a battle she’d face for a long time to come.
Then, the next bomb dropped and they found out their darling daughter was a witch. A freak. Unnatural. As churchgoers, and Catholics they wondered – what had they done to deserve this? They practically shunned her every summer, when she went home, and how they stayed together is still a mystery to Greta. It made her think – did they justfinally find something in common? Hating their daughter and having asecret abomination? One they couldn’t explain to anyone else? Once again, she was what kept them together when it obvious they didn’t want to be.
So, she found her home in Hogwarts, in Hufflepuff House. It was the place she loved, and even with the upcoming war it was a place she felt safe. Being Muggle-born was no walk in the park, and the bullying truly did get to her. Even worse, Greta wasn’t the best at protecting herself, even if she tried hard to be as skilled at dueling like the other people she saw, she just wasn’t good at it. DADA just wasn’t her best subject, but she found a talent in Charms. Charms that involved food, cheese specifically — so she ran with it. But once again, she found it useless – that she was useless. In a war you couldn’t use cheese against the enemy? Greta felt that if she could just be a soldier, or be someone who could die saving someone she cared for – she wouldn’t be a waste of a human being. Yet, the realization that she’d never be good at DADA or Transfiguration and not good enough at Potions proved her useless to herself.
It was no longer just an opinion about herself, it was a fact.
Her depression is something she hides, she knows there’s a stigma and being a muggle-born, Hufflepuff, witch is already enough. Being alone is something that scares her because it’s something she feels. Alone in her depression, in the times she remembers just sleeping away the days over summers – her parents not caring a bit. Falling into books, reading all she could get her hands on. Then, school time came once again and she found herself lying to her friends about how fantastic her holiday was, fabricating stories that were so intricate, flawless, most couldn’t see through them. The times she disappeared off to the infirmary, claiming sickness when it was just the all consuming depression that enveloped her – giving a smile and saying ‘I’m fine’ before sleeping in the cot near the window ( she had claimed it her own in the infirmary by now ). Lies. But she was already weak enough, she didn’t need to be seen as anymore so.
❝ I am finally starting to understand that I will never escape myself. ❞
