week 4 / small commitments challenge
I read a tumblr post talking about how our experiences in young adulthood are so varied that while we aren't alone in those experiences, we are actually so alone...Maybe that's why I sometimes find myself thinking of the future more than the present because surely by that stage, I won't be so alone in that sense anymore. I felt that way in high school about university and I feel that way now in undergrad about whatever lies ahead. But what if I just took time to enjoy what there is to enjoy in my current category of experience? Stopped thinking happiness and belonging of that type lies never now but at some future destination? Perhaps I will stop feeling so behind in life because I've stopped thinking there is only one right path to follow to live a life that is satisfying to me. Perhaps I will feel less alone.
🪴 tomato garden (50/10): M: no timer today bc it's annoying to keep pausing and unpausing whenever smth happens irl that doesn't neatly fit the timer T: better to get as much sh*t done as i can than to have the pressure of a timer (never enough time 😭) burning a hole in the back of my mind 😪 W: 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅+(1/2 🍅) (felt better today, hence the "tomato planting") Th: 🍅🍅🍅+(1/2 🍅) F: 🍅🍅🍅🍅 I also studied on Saturday (😭) and tried and failed to on Sunday (couldn't bring myself to focus...felt so drained 😪😭) but saw no point in tracking my time. I get things done when I get them done regardless. Sometimes a timer is just discouraging.
😎 side quests: 🐸 yoga: 🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️ (fell off the bandwagon with this, but oh well) 📝 journalling: 🖋️🖋️🖋️🖋️🖋️🖋️🖋️(this REALLY saves my gears from spinning too much late into the night when i'm anxious. also serves as my main and important form of catharsis during the struggle towards semester's end ❤️‍🩹 i can't wait to feel alive again)

I'm finally starting to get more serious about studying my languages~
I've been struggling with adhd & just being busy, so I'd love to make more friends that are also studying so we can share tips, keep each other accountable, & practice!
the main I'm focusing on right now is Korean with a goal of taking the first TOPIK this year, but I'm also still dabbling in Japanese & Italian.

🗒 Literature Revision
🗒 English Revision
📺 Video essay on the cruelty of infinite growth
💬 Discussion about philosophy
💬 Discussion about books with my brother
🤩 Philosophy
📚 Warum gibt es alles und nicht nichts? by Richard David Precht
Winter Studying Challenge
3rd December - What is your least favourite thing about winter?
Chapped lips and cracked skin on hands (yes, I'm aware of the existence of chapsticks and creams, they barely help)
Winter Wonderland Studyblr Challenge
DAY 9.  Is there something that you specially like/dislike about holiday season?
I like the atmosphere of the holidays, the dishes, gifts and meeting some of my relatives. The commercialization of Christmas destroys this unique atmosphere, in my opinion. And I don't like rush and chaos.

Day 19: Digital Decluttering
So I am long overdue for digital decluttering. I recently mass-deleted emails for 2 of my older email addresses, and I’ve been unsubscribing to emails daily.
Photos
I also have been going through my photos and deleting useless screenshots. I started with over 3k pictures, and now I'm down to 1400. I went through this phase where I would screenshot every time I caught an Angel number, and the photos stacked up over time. I still want to get my pictures to a reasonable number. I also want to make use of sorting them into different folders so I can keep up with what I have.
Work Desktop
On my work computer, I archived all my old folders and started fresh with the PARA method, and I did the same thing with my OneNote. Archiving the information was helpful, especially with my OneNote, because I can retrieve old details as needed.
Outlook folders
So I went through my action folders to clear out useless emails and combine folders to simplify my system. While doing this, I identified folders that I could do without and started deleting ad emails. This made my inbox much more manageable, and I am confident I can find what I need.
Tumblr following
I’ve been on tumblr for over 10 years and at one point I was following 750 accounts. I started using the blog subs to start my dash over because I didn’t want to delete this account. I decided to reclaim my dash so I went through all the accounts I follow and it was interesting to look through all my phases. I went through an intense studyblr phase as well as being active in the cheer community (RIP, iykyk).
It was also interesting to see accounts I follow that have not been updated for years.
Tumblr media
iPhone storage
So I cleared out my browser history and deleted Tidal because it took up to 25GB?! Also thinking about upgrading my phone just for storage purposes. Plus, the back of my phone is cracked up, so it s a win-win.
Conclusion
Before decluttering, I felt like I was suffocating digitally. I had so many files that I had no idea what I had or who I was following, and it took up a good amount of my storage. My digital life now feels manageable, and I’m implementing habits to clear out my phone regularly. My world is in my phone and other electronics, so clearing it out feels like I can breathe again… digitally.

Hello again!
I stumbled over the studyblr community back in 2016 (2017?) when I was in the middle of high school and trying to get a hang of who I am and what I like. It was the first time that I discovered the love and inspiration I derived from this type of content and it made my early academia journey just so much more special. Now, 6 years later, I am no longer 17 and and in high school. Instead, I am 23 and in my last year of university about to graduate with a Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (how did that even happen)! In the meantime a lot has happened that changed who I thought I was and wanted. Life got busy and I forgot about this amazing community and platform. Now that I am so close to the end of my academic journey (something I will definitely resume at some point later in life), I wanted to document my last 2-3 months of uni and share my days, as well as, rediscover how studyblr is looking like nowdays.
Maybe this my content will inspire some aspiring engineers, maybe it will motivate me to get on with my work , maybe I'll be able to reconnect with what I once loved and maybe I'll just document these moments for when I will miss them most.
Rant over, thank you for your attention. Now I should get cracking with my Risk & Reliability assignmnent I have procrastinated to the last minute...

18.10.23 - wednesday, mecredi, onsdag 6/31 days of the studyblr community challenge
happy birthday sarah, i apologise that you missed out on the chaos today :(
i thought it was going to rain today but no it was just the weather gaslighting me and we finished the afternoon at 25 degrees.
things i did today:
i stayed up last night doing some coding commits, i managed to do nearly all the parts. now i only have to submit the hashtags and powerpoint because im unorganised i watched both science mineral revision videos received my new minerals task, i will probably start it next week performed our drama assignment (it was so on crack i enjoyed it immensely)
things i will try to do tomorrow:
start my coding presentation finish all commits do my french bc i saw it was due but i need to wait for the lesson :/ photography branding
im not sure how much i can do bc i have an eye test but we'll see (or not depending on what the specialist says ig)
✨things i did for me today✨
talked with some friends about the new guardians of the galaxy movie, i watched it a few weeks ago and! its so good! made some sweet dumplings in syrup (they were good) does orange juice count as selfcare i think it should
my laptop is running out of storage (as in i have 2.57gb left) but i dont want to uninstall my games this is very sad now half of my websites dont run because im out of disk space aaaaaaa
day six: what did you decide to do this challenge and what is your goal?
i decided to do this challenge because as ive said, i thought it would be easier than doing launching straight into 100 days of productivity. im trying to get some sort of routine in, which is kind of happening! only one week in and im remembering to do my studyblr updates on time, which is great! once its really cemented and solid, im going to try incorporate allocating journaling or something. in my opinion, its really easy to need to work until you have to sleep, but turning off that side of the brain and chilling out before i sleep will be a good habit to get into. it won't happen in a month and teenagers are renowned for terrible sleep schedules, but ill try :)
SARAH HAS RETURNED YAY
