NDP Supports MMPR not FPTP!

Have been hearing misinformation from about the Federal NDP's commitment to electoral reform on Social Media. The NDP supports Mixed-Member Proportional Representation (MMPR) over First Past the Post (FPTP) elections that we have now. Here's a list of some of the NDP's motions and work towards abolishing FPTP. This list isn't complete by any means, nonetheless: 1. NDP motion requesting the committee be allowed to continue working on electoral reform: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/39/1/171 2. NDP motion regarding electoral reform and a referendum regarding the Senate: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/40/3/197 3. NDP motion for working towards abolishing FPTP. https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/42/1/80 4. NDP motion to move to MMPR instead of FPTP, in the following election: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/41/2/291 5. Parliament Committee Reports from the Special Committee on Electoral Reform. Both NDP and GPC felt they had the mandate from public consultations to move forward on electoral reform. Liberals and Conservatives disagreed, and Trudeau broke his 2015 promise to end FPTP. https://www.ourcommons.ca/Commit.../en/ERRE/StudyActivity... 6. Here's an NDP motion calling on Trudeau to apologize for breaking his 2015 promise to Canadians to make 2015 the last election under FPTP. https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/42/1/194 7. As you can see, electoral reform is a long-standing and ongoing priority for the Federal NDP. It's not accurate to say that they support FPTP. Time to put that rumour to bed.

I had at least ten original content post in the works that I was really excited about and then decided to not publish them because I felt it wouldn’t help any one. Acting is such a niche study, at least in the studyblr community, that I just felt weird posting about it. Also had no clue what to start posting.

Not to mention most of the theatre blogs I could find and follow are tech specific and sort of unfriendly towards actors . It just sort of put me in a weird space.

But looking at all my original content I find that it’s geared towards the aesthetics but honestly, I’m over it. I’m definitely going to start working on more original content that I want to see. And I’m not going to worry about the aesthetics anymore because I want a blog that’s helpful even if it’s only for me.

i wish more studyblr posted more of their own content vs reblogging the same studyspo. there have been a lot of blogs that i chose not to follow only because… i don’t know what they were actually studying themselves! 

and let’s be real, most ‘studyspo’ is not going to motivate you to study. most of my studyspo tag is from blogs who have explicitly tagged me in their recent posts or mutuals, and i am showing my support of their hard work and determination. 

running a studyblr is not about wandering around hoping that inspiration strikes. just about doing the damn thing, you know?

it’s not to say that you can’t reblog pretty pictures, because i do the same thing, but there’s a line separating aesthetic blogs from study blogs and it blurs for a lot in the community..
