back in electronics class, 100 years ago, we had this breadboarding program to draft out our projects. mostly we just made goofball messes of lights or drew pictures with wires.
but I figured out how to adjust the pitch and volume of the piezo buzzers. mapped out a scale. made a breadboard project that played 'Red River Valley' in the worst, most annoying noises possible. teacher hated it. classmates asked how to do it. class full of squeaking and honking computers. :3c

End of Winter, Year 1
Well aside from that little incident of death, it was a good first season of uni. Gerdie joined all the Foxbury Organizations (including the Secret Society) and is currently riding an A+ for her grade.
She has a new house in Britechester, a townhouse (more images under the cut). I really had no desire to deal with roommates in the student housing but if i do build a something similar (like apartments), I may try roommates with a lot of locked doors.
Previous updates here & here.
Newly Completed Aspirations: Friend of the World, Renaissance Sim. 7/67 completed.
Newly Completed Career: Babysitter, Barista, Fast Food Employee, Video Game Streamer. 7/51 completed. (I forgot about the Sports Team and E-Sports Competitor so I guess that's what we'll do when we're back at Uni)
Newly Completed Skills: Charisma, Fitness, Research & Debate. 11/50 completed.
Newly Added Reward Traits: Mentor, Marketable, Stoves and Grills Master, Shameless, Beguiling, Great Kisser, Professional Slacker. 31/43 purchased.
Potions of Youth taken so far: 1.
Next is the final week of school (for now), and completing the Academic aspiration. A few more part time jobs too, and maxing skills like Robotics (ugh, so difficult with Gerdie constantly getting zapped). Going to be starting a few more aspirations; I wanted to keep the aspirations to the world (or pack) I was playing with currently - or at least ones that make sense - but I'm running out of non career, non family oriented ones (not ready to start dealing with family/romantic partners just yet, but probably soon).
I build a pair of townhouses, though the grey one is completely empty. Originally I used a debug house and Tiny Home townhouse but it was much too cramped and Gerdie kept getting stuck on the stairs. (though she did max Research & Debate in like 3 days). This was much nicer.
Not my best decorating work but I was trying to keep to her original furniture that she brought with her. I think her next home I build & furnish it completely new, it's not like she's hurting for money.

Hang on I know I made those OC posts a while ago but I just remembered this other guy who I think pre-dated Old Man Martha and was basically just a precursor to him.
I'm sure it was mentioned in some of the books that the Titan Army employed human mercenaries to pad out their ranks and provide them with skills and equipment they lacked and I think it was implied that because of the mist they didn't really know what was going on which made me think about how they perceived the war, how they interacted (if at all) with the demigods in the army and if some of them did have experience with the mythological world and knew what was actually happening. That was how I ended up with an OC so old I forgot his name or if he ever had one!
Name, as he shall be called in the meantime, was an ex-marine who used his expertise to teach self-defence classes to kids and he had this one student who was about eight-ish years old when he started attending his class way back in the late eighties. Name liked the kid well enough but while training him, fell in love with the kid's mother, a single woman who had a fling with some guy that ditched her after a couple of nights together. After a while Name and the woman got married but there was trouble in paradise because the mystery guy who knocked the mother up was Zeus, who didn't even know his affair caused an oath-breaking baby to be released into the world.
A few years after Name and the mother got married, the kid's demigod powers started showing which got the attention of Zeus and some of the other gods. Hera was obviously furious that Zeus cheated on her even under oath and demanded that, since he broke the oath, he had to fix his mistake. If it was just Hera being mad about an affair Zeus wouldn't have been too intimidated but it wasn't just Hera, it was pretty much the whole Olympian council and it wasn't just an affair, it was the fact that broke an oath on the Styx. It was the first time since the oath was made that it was broken so everyone took it a lot more seriously which is why Zeus reacted as drastically as he did by zapping the kid and his mother with lightning, killing them both as well as permanently scarring Name, who happened to be standing too close at the time.
Name was obviously traumatised by the sudden death of his wife and child and grew furious when he did some digging into the demigod world (that he was starting to become acquainted with as the child's powers started showing) and found out the reason they died. When Kronos Army popped up on his radar and he found out they were all about tearing down the Olympians, especially Zeus, he was very quick to offer his services even though he was an ageing and mentally unstable man at that time. Most of the human mercenaries were kept separate from the demigods and avoided them on their own accord but Name had experience with them as well as a major soft spot because they reminded him of his lost son. The demigods mostly saw him as this eccentric old man with a lightning scar but he was fun and he was the closest thing a lot of them had to a positive paternal influence in their lives so they liked him.
He was quite protective over the young demigods and was always trying to keep a close eye on them during missions or battles that most other human mercenaries wouldn't have been expected to be present at. For the human mercenaries, they were approached by the army and only do what they are explicitly asked and go where they are explicitly told to go but Name was a special case. He approached the army and made it clear from the get-go that he knew about the mythological stuff so where the other humans were kept away from the demigods, Name was given slightly more free-roam and he used that to keep an eye on the young demigods. I remember killing him off during the battle of Manhattan and I think I was torn between him being the only human on the Princess Andromeda when it blew up because everyone knew about the explosion and he wanted to be present so he could help evacuate the ship if they couldn't intercept the bomb in time or he was hanging around at the end of the Williamsburg bridge to oversee the demigod reinforcements because everyone knew what a threat Percy Jackson was and when the bridge started crumbling, he ran towards it to try and help (possibly dragging Ethan's unconscious body off???) but got crushed/fell in the water in the process.
#pjo#percy jackson#ethan nakamura#the titan army#oc#pjo oc#yeah he's an eccentric old man with a tragic backstory#so you can sort of see the hints of Old Man Martha in him#Q

Familiar Green
Damian Wayne x Reader Soulmate AU
In an AU where when your soulmate and you touch you feel sparks and intense warmth! Damian is around 16-18 ish in my head!
Being a sucker for a good love story you couldn’t help but always feel jealous watching your classmates, friends, and even strangers on the street find their soulmate. You watched as kids bumped into each other only to see their eyes meet at the feeling of sparks. What did the “sparks” even feel like? As a child you were about ready to touch an electric fence to understand the feeling.
As you grew up your focus eventually left your soulmate and you spent far to much time focussing on school work. You got into Gotham Academy on a merit scholarship from the Wayne Foundation and you were determined to put it to good use. Money was a sore subject and your family had been scraping by since you could remember. Your parents were soulmates and always said that their love would conquer all or some sappy shit like that. The only thing you were in love with was knowledge and that was just fine. In classes you were attentive and quiet, learning quickly no one liked a smart ass. Teachers often slipped you materials for projects knowing you probably didn’t have them at home and you sat in the back minding your own business.
You never ran with the popular crowd. You had friends you walked to class with and studied with, especially friends who were as driven as you but you never had a BEST friend. The person you tell everything to and a confidant who shares your passions and jokes with like no other. You would wait for the sparks to show you who that would be.
Currently, you were planning a speech for the annual Wayne Family Gala where all their merit scholars would show what they were doing with their scholarship. The speech was somewhere in between intense bragging about your grades, achievements, and experiments while also thanking the Wayne family every two words. You had it planned perfectly: big purse to get snacks for the endless speeches, the same dress you’ve worn the last two years, and one gratitude dance then home. Easy.
When the bell released you from the last class you began pushing towards freedom. Students grumbled and shoved through the tight halls and you rolled your eyes at the stupidity of those walking against the crowd or those stopped to chat about nothing. With the door in sight you sped up, pushing hard when you felt a zap. Your heart stopped, turning around to the sea of people pushing past you. The feeling was comforting yet alarming, the friction of just tapping shoulders was enough to stop you dead in your tracks. What seemed like endless hoards of people pushed past you while you stood begging for the person who felt it too to run back to you.
“Look at the genius who forgot how to walk”
Words shook you from a daze as you looked up to see a football star with a 2.1 GPA staring you down. Rolling your eyes you headed out for fresh air and a walk home to prep for the gala, but you couldn't shake the feeling resonating in your shoulder.
-- agressive time skippppp --
As you watched your classmate wrap up his speech on his first place win at the Math Olympics you realized it was time for yours. The two of you did a quick high five before you found yourself alone, shaking hands clutching note cards with bright white lights blinding you from seeing Gotham’s most powerful staring expectantly up at you. With a deep breath, you began recounting the highlights of your year. Finding Mr. Wayne’s face up near the front you saw him nodding as you detailed your research with collegiate professors, perfect test scores, and passion. Thanking the board members one last time you looked to the cameras and gave a big smile before heading back behind the stage.
Once away from the prodding lights you let out the breath held in for the entire speech. Until next year Gothamites. Detailing your plans to chat up the rich folk, dance in front of the cameras photographing merit scholars then leaving and probably getting fast food on the way home, you smiled to yourself knowing it was almost over. Heading out to the main floor you listened politely to the rest of the speeches before scouting out the person with the biggest net worth in the room.
Making your way around the room, you accidentally locked eyes with none other than Mr. Wayne who gestured you over. Estimating that the money held between Mr. Wayne and the men he was talking to stood around a couple trillion dollars you gladly complied, hoping to find a sponsor for more research, maybe even college scholarships.
“Hello Miss. It’s y/n right?” you politely greeted Mr. Wayne trying not to gawk at his suit that probably cost more than your family’s rent. Finding your inner confidence you took the opportunity to explain your passions and ask questions of the people in the semi-circle formed around you. While talking, a young man came to stand next to his father, clearly impressed with your credentials. After a couple glances you recognized the light smirk and emerald green eyes as Damian Wayne. You saw him as the opposite of you, he floated through Gotham Academy on Daddy’s wallet, barely showing up to school and often wearing dark sunglasses to hide what you assumed to be a hangover from partying the night before. Giving him a curt smile you continued, mostly focused on David Shield, a man about 55 who ran a series of fancy hotels, he shared passions with you and looked very interested.
The more you spoke the more Shield focused on you. Eventually, he offered to bring you to get a drink (non-alcoholic you assumed) and talk about a possible partnership. Quickly you began thanking the men around you will either a nod or a quick handshake. You couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shake Bruce Wayne’s hand and you almost fainted when you realized you were shaking hands with THE Bruce Wayne. Lastly you turned to Damian and saw Mr. Wayne pat his back, forcing him to hold out a hand, rolling his bright green eyes lazily. As you went to shake it Mr. Shield tapped your shoulder hurrying you saying “let’s go princess I’m in a hurry here” as he started walking off. This was the opportunity of your lifetime, you tried to walk past Damian, hurriedly trying to follow Mr Shield. When your shoulder brushed Damian’s and you felt the familiar sparks again your heart ripped in half. You could swear you heard them crack and pop in the air as you locked eyes with his green ones. Ready to forget about Mr. Shield you turned to Damian only for him to put two hand on your shoulders and mouth “Go I’ll find you” as he tried to direct you towards Mr. Shield. Where his hands made contact with your collarbone warmth erupted you could feel each finger radiating and sizzling against your bare skin.
In a daze, you felt Damian let go and you stumbled towards the bar. Mind racing you couldn’t stop turning back to Damian, who was in deep conversation with his father, both of them stealing glances at you. Trying to focus on the room and not the cold feeling from missing your soulmate’s touch you felt a hand snake around your waist and pull you towards the bar. Looking up at Mr. Shield who held your waiste for far too long you tried to shake off all thoughts of Damian and secure your future. Mr. Shield told you to call him David and he tried to order a fancy alcoholic drink for both of you. Asking for a club soda he paid and the two of you spoke about shared interests and a possible collaboration. Trying to focus on the conversation and not the feeling of your heart beating out of your chest was extremely difficult.
After sipping bubbly water with Mr. Shield David and him deciding to grant you the money you needed you felt ecstatic. Trying to wrap up the conversation and look for Damian Mr. Shield wouldn’t end the conversation with you. Your heart sunk as you saw the paparazzi follow Mr. Wayne, Damian, and his three brothers out of the ballroom. The only breath of hope you felt was seeing familiar green eyes frantically scanning the ballroom for who you hoped was you, but his eyescouldn’t find yours.
Defeated you returned to speaking with David but decided it was late and you were feeling more lightheaded than normal. He offered a ride home and you couldn’t pass it up, not feeling too well, probably because of the loud atmosphere and heavy air. Getting up you felt him place his hand in the small of your back and though you tried to twist or politely shake it off he kept it there. As you stumbled towards the door you felt worse and worse. Knowing something was seriously wrong you decided it was better to wait outside for your parents to come get you. You tried to explain the situation but Mr. Shield adamantly said you had to come with him. Beginning to get woozy and frustrated you started pushing him away.
“Y/n sweetie let me take you home” he purred
“You don’t even know where I live let me go” you stopped dead in your tracks.
“C’mon just right here let’s get in” he gripped your arm and immediately fight or flight kicked in and momma didn’t raise no bitch. You began to hit his chest, yell, and try to slither out of his grip. Your fist connected with his chin and he stumbled back, visibly angered he advanced toward you and you realized this was not going to end well. Closing your eyes you braced for pain but felt a smaller, latex covered hand wrap around your waist with a woosh.
With your eyes still closed you couldn’t tell if you really were floating in a stranger's arms or if you were just heavily drugged. Opening an eye you saw the gala building grow smaller and you decided it was definitely the former, but probably also the latter. Sucking in a breath you looked up to see a domino-masked, red and yellow-clad vigilante holding you with one arm and a grapple with the other. Realizing you were literally hundreds of feet above solid ground you wrapped your arms around Gotham’s own Robin squeezing his neck and feeling a familiar spark. Unable to connect the dots due to a heavily drugged brain you clung to the hero praying for your life until you heard
“y/n we’re safe now” from a familiar, and very concerned voice.
Peeking up you realized he was still holding you as you clung to him though he stood comfortably stable on the roof of a building. Gingerly you put your feet on the ground, not releasing him from your grasp feeling the sparks fly between your fingertips and his neck. Looking up at Robin you moved a hand to his cheek, sparks sizzling and jumping more so than ever. And in what was probably not your smoothest moment you mumble
“hey Damian” at the masked figure. Your fingers instinctively tug at the domino mask and as you expected, the same piercing green eyes looked down at you.
“hello y/n” he nodded. His eyes began to scan you for any signs of pain and you assured him you were fine.
“disgusting of David Shield to try to drug a teenager especially my own soulmate TT” your heart fluttered at the acknowledgment of the bond. You reached up to touch his face again just to check the sparks were still there. Like clockwork electricity danced between the two of you. Content with the feeling you decided to share some personal information. Whatever Shield gave you made you bold if nothing else.
“You know I’ve wanted a soulmate my whole life. I’d let Shield go after me again if it meant I’d get to meet you. Especially if it meant my soulmate was this hot holy hot damn” Damian’s eyes softened looking down at you and his lips pulled into a smirk but you could tell no amount of comfort would stop his anger.
“Trust me beloved no one will go after you ever again” he pulled you against him and you instinctively wrapped your arms around his torso, fitting together like a puzzle. Even with a cool breeze blowing around the top of the building the warmth from holding your soulmate was enough to have you melting into his arms. In that peaceful moment every cliche made sense. This was feeling you wanted to feel forever. You heard a light buzz from his earpiece with a voice asking about his location and status. With a curt reply Damian told you it was time for him to take you home. Holding onto Damian as he swung down he whispered in your ear
“I could get used to having you in my arms beloved” and with a giddy smile you replied
“I’d hope so lover boy you’re kinda stuck with me forever” at this he squeezed you tighter, his eyes shining with an emotion he’d never felt before and you looked up filled with excitement for the emerald green eyes you’d spend the rest of your life looking at.

Imagine #1
You're an Evo and you read Tommy Clark's mind, finding out he's one, too.
Warnings: insecure reader, Tommy is so sweet, fluff
I rushed down the corridor, brushing shoulders with practically every person I passed. My brain surged with an unholy fire, and I knew the voices clanging against my skull were not my own. I tried to shut them out, building a Great Wall of my own to protect me from their whispers. I failed.
My knees wobbled, and I barely registered the bodies that hit me as I hurried to my locker. The bell will ring any moment, now, and if anyone thought I was in hell already-they were severely wrong. My feet carried me to my belongings hidden behind the small metal door. I reached for the lock, but stopped myself. This was the worst part of being me. I could hear thoughts through touch, but when I touch objects...
Dear reader, did you know objects have memories, too? Because I didn't, either. But now, as I opened my locker, images of a boy being shoved against that very metal box flooded my senses, and I recoiled. That wasn't just any boy, that was my boyfriend, Tommy.
"Hey, are you okay?" I jumped at the familiar voice, and there stood the very person I just saw in my 'vision'. I avoided his green eyes, while he tried to search my own (e/c) ones. I wished Brad wouldn't pick on him so much. Tommy had such a beautiful soul, he deserved so much better.
"Uh, yeah. The static from my jumper; it zapped me." I laughed, gesturing to the brown, woollen thing tied around my waist. He smiled along with me. I noticed something dark and blue around his eye. I clenched my fists.
He turned back to gather his things, and I roughly gathered my books for History and Forensic Science. I pressed my body against the lockers and tried not to let anyone touch me. Tommy kept glancing in my direction, and I figured I looked strange.
"Are you sure—"
"What class do you have next?" I asked suddenly. I closed my locker with the tip of my pinkie, cringing away from the picture of a couple making out, and looked at him.
"History, then Forensic. Same as you." Just on que, a shrill ring sounded down the hall, and I thanked the heavens for an excuse to escape. I hated my power. I hated especially that I had to keep it from my boyfriend.
"Right, well, let's go."
The hall was completely filled with students, all of them pushing through in their hurry to get somewhere. Not one inch of the floor was uncovered; my head was sure to explode. More often then I'd like to admit, I walked right into someone so I wouldn't touch Tommy. I didn't care about some ninth-grader's step-dad, and I refused to invade my boyfriend’s mind.
We walked in silence, my arms folded over my chest, and I continued to keep my distance. If Tommy noticed, he didn't show it.
By the time we joined the line outside door 16-B, Tommy and I were two of the only people still walking around. Two idiots at the front were arguing over something I didn't care to listen to. There were yelling and cursing and spitting in each other's faces. Then, the dirty-blonde footballer named Brad shoved tall and skinny Andrew into Tommy, and I caught his arm before he fell too far. I wasn't even thinking, and I pushed him off me like he was dirt.
Don't use your power. The thought echoed in my brain. But it wasn't mine, it was Tommy's.
My heart jolted. His power? Was he an Evo?
~Time skip~
All of yesterday, all I could think about was Tommy and his peculiar thought. He would smile at me when I spaced out, having no clue that I knew. Walking through the hall to lunch, Tommy had taken my hand. Usually, I would push him away. But I didn’t. And I knew about all of it. His struggle, moving so often the places fused together in his mind. He kept changing his name until he forgot his real one.
I thought it over as I walked outside with Tommy. He was so kind to everyone, his eyes soft and with a heart of gold. No one would’ve known he’d have gone through so much. And they definitely wouldn’t have suspected he was a “dangerous” Evo. He felt so alone, even when he was with me. He wanted so bad to be with people like him. So, with this knew confidence, I was going to tell him.
I knew I wasn’t exactly like him. He could zap things and people to other places. Mine were an invasion of space. I realised he could hate me for listening to his thoughts, as I had been doing lately. He could be disgusted by it. And if he saw me that way, looked at me with that hatred in his eyes... I couldn’t bare to think about it. But I would tell him anyway. He needed someone to confide in about more than school and bullies. I needed to be more than his girlfriend. I needed to be his best friend, too.
"Tommy," I looked over at him, and he was already searching my eyes. My heart skipped a beat. Did I mention he's adorable?
"What's up?" He slipped his hand into mine, and—once again—I held onto it. He rose a brow.
"I need to... tell you something." Panic and worry flooded my senses, then it was replaced with concern. It was Tommy, I felt, and as much as I wanted to, I didn't pull away.
"I'm listening." His eyes were soft, and a slight curiosity mixed in with his fear.
"Not here, at my house."
I pulled him over to my side of the street, and we hurried along the sidewalk. I focused on his feelings instead of his thoughts, but a few words slithered in, anyway.
...something wrong? ...acting strange... Does she... what happened? Evo... see something... Why... ...know about me?
I unlocked my door and we stepped inside, Tommy closing it behind me. Luckily, my parents weren't home, so I could at least prepare myself for their fury. I wasn't allowed to tell anyone. Not even other Evos.
"If I told you something that could..." I took a shaky breath, and I was overwhelmed with more concern than I thought one could feel. "Ruin our relationship, promise you won't hate me?"
Tommy shook his head. "Nothing could make me hate you, (y/n)." I nodded slowly. This was it.
"I'm an Evo."
The silence that stretched on was terrifying. Emotions flooded in one after the other and I hardly registered what they meant. I squeezed his hand tighter, and he finally met my eyes. But he didn't say anything.
"Tommy, talk to me." He pulled his hand out of mine, and my heart broke a little.
Then, I was pulled into his chest. He wrapped his arms around my frame, and laughed. It was a happy laugh, and he felt an overwhelming sense of relief. I felt it, too.
"You're like me!" He pulled back, hands resting on my shoulders, beaming. "Is this why you've been so distant lately? You wanted to tell me?" My smile faded. Of course he had noticed. He's my best friend, my only friend. How could he not see my reluctance to be around him?
"Yeah, I-I mean no. Sort of." He tilted his head and furrowed his brows. I didn't need to be an Evo to know he was confused. "It's my ability. I didn't want to hurt you..."
"(y/n), I know you. You would never hurt me or anyone. You wouldn't stand for it." His smile was sweet, and his heart was true. But there was also a trace of doubt.
She could be dangerous.
"I'm not dangerous, Tommy, I promise." His eyes widened. "I wouldn't have physically hurt you. That's not how I work. But I didn't want to hurt your feelings. Bruise your soul..." Tommy removed his palms from my shoulders, and I felt almost empty. All I felt was me, and it should've felt right, but it was far from it. "The mind... it's a private place, and I can invade it whenever I want. My power is cruel."
I expected him to run, hit his chest and disappear. Instead, he did something most unexpected.
He kissed me.
It was slow, cautious. His lips were soft, and his heart poured out into mine. Opening himself up to me like nothing mattered. Nothing but us and this small moment. He rested his forehead to mine, his forest eyes looking at me in a way he'd never looked at anybody else before.
Anybody else besides me.
“(y/n), you don’t have to be ashamed.” He whispered, a hint of a smile on his lips. “You’re beautiful, mind-reading powers and all.” Tommy laughed softly, and I smiled wide.
“I love you.” I admitted, a blush creeping across my cheeks. Tommy beamed, his eyes twinkling.
“I love you, too.”

Twisted Fates
Part Four
(Part One)
For other parts please see my masterlist ^.^
It was like a colorful tunnel that he was sent back through, red, blue and purple would zap away beside him at random moments.
What the hell was happening? A tingling feeling shot through his body, making him shut his eyes as the jolts were faint and a tad bit painful.
When he opened his eyes, they widened at the sudden bright light, squinting.
"--ways, wanna hang out at the arcade after school?" He heard someone ask.
It was a familiar voice, once he hadn't heard since he graduated from high school. He blinked a few times, able to focus his eyes and find a black haired male leaning on his desk.
"..Ma..tsuo..." He let out softly.
After graduation, his group of friends all split up, so he didn't hear from any of them afterwards. Matsuo, a male who dyed his hair black once he noticed the females loved that color on him..also a womanizer and heart breaker.
He turned his head to find the other long lost friend, "Ryu".
This particular friend, Grimmjow often wondered if he was even human. Ryu was a male who stayed calm even in the most desperate situations, such as when an aggressive class president asked him out and went ape shit when he said she was too manly.
Despite his aloof exterior, Ryu liked all things cat-like. His hair was rather long and he kept his bangs pinned away with a hair-clip.
"Ya in or what?" Someone else asked as he felt them slap their hand onto his shoulder, leaning in with narrowed eyes "I heard some of the girl's from the class next door are going too".
Lastly, there was Tsueno, also know as Tsu. His hair was dyed as well, the top being a dark red and the bottom his natural hair color: black.
Tsu was cold, hot headed and didn't exactly play well with others, kinda like Grimmjow. He had piercings on his ears, his lip and eyebrow and secretly had gotten a tattoo on his back last summer. He often was questioned if he was part of the Yakuza, his demeanor certainly matched it. He was easy to get along with once you got past his rebel look and he had woman all over him all the time, he often skips class to take a nap at one of the stairways where they usually hang out.
"Tsu.." He let out, surprised to see the male as well.
He was in complete shock that he was actually back in high school. Wait! He scanned the room, over all the males and females until he found her.
Y/n.
She had her nose buried in a book, despite how rowdy the classroom was with it getting ready for the exams.
"Yo! Earth to Grimmjow!" Matsuo drawled "What's with you? You're out of it today".
"Huh..." Grimmjow let out, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
In high school, he never thought about how much they meant to him even though at times they were a pain to be around. But he realized after graduating, his world revolved around them and high school. And if he'd taken it all more seriously, maybe he wouldn't have ended up at such a shit job and a shitty life while everyone else went on to actually do something with their lives.
"Arcade or no?" Ryu asked "I saw a cute plushie there the other day, I'm going to get it even if I have to waste all my money".
"If only you gave the girls the same amount of attention you give your cat obsession" Matsuo deadpanned "You'd have a girlfriend by now at least".
"If she's cute enough like my Miku-chan, then maybe she can have me" Ryu said softly, closing his eyes "Miku-chan...I hope she's alright all alone at home...".
"Damn cat should be grateful someone cares about her this much" Tsu muttered as he sat down in the desk behind Grimmjow "By the way, where were you yesterday? You missed it, Matsuo had a milkshake thrown at him by some girl".
"Yesterday?" Grimmjow spoke, thinking about it.
He could only remember what he did as his future self, not as his teenage self.
"Uh..I passed out" he lied, ruffling his hair, his eyes still full of shock and surprise.
His hair was a bit shorter yet wild, man...he really missed this.
"So ya in or not?" Tsu asked.
"Yeah" he said, eyes glancing back over at Y/n as the bell rang "I'll meet you guys there, I gotta do something".
"Whatever, we'll go on ahead if you don't show up" Matsuo reminded as the three got up and fell into the horde of students leaving the classroom.
He gathered his books and shoved them into his bag, looking back over at the girl, who hadn't even moved from her chair yet, seemingly engrossed in her book.
What was she doing?
He threw the bag over his shoulder, his black uniform jacket unzipped and revealed the white shirt underneath as he walked. Should he talk to her now?
He had no idea when he was going to be sent back, so there was no time to waste right?
Should he act nice? Or the usual so that she didn't think he was trying to prank her or something?
He cleared his throat, standing in front of her desk.
She looked up, eyes widened as her cheeks grew warm "G..Grimmjow...kun..?".
He looked away, still unable to process that he was actually back here "...are you staying after school for a club or something?" He asked.
"Well..it's my turn for clean up duties today..so yeah" she explained.
"Hm?" He let out, looking over at the chart for duties, sure enough her name was on it for today as well as another "Isn't Sahara supposed to clean too?".
She smiled nervously, lowering her gaze "It's okay..no one ever stays to help me anyways".
He looked back down at her, what was he supposed to do now?
Become her best friend?
Didn't she have any friends?
"Grimmjow-kun.." She let out softly "Are you okay?...".
"I'm fine" he grunted "...you don't have any friends who'll stay behind and help?".
"Not in this class, no" she smiled sheepishly "..please don't be offended but...why are you..talking to me?".
His eyes widened, "..huh?".
"You've never even noticed me before, and we've been in the same class since middle school...ah, is this about the other day? When I bumped into you and made you drop your bag? I'm said I was sorry...".
"The fuck are you talking about?" He sighed, ruffling his hair once more "I don't even remember that..".
“There it is..." She said with a sad smile, "If it's not your group, you don't bother to remember anything else...".
Was that how he was?
Ah, he remembered now. He really was this way back then, that's how he made it through school without ever knowing who Y/n was. He forgot all about her after the confession. How could he get close to her without her being suspicious? Wait, he recalled his teacher nagging him about getting a tutor to boost his grades.
He scowled, "I remember whatever is important...whatever. What subject are you good at?".
"Huh?" She said wide eyed "Umm...English I guess..why?".
"I'll stay and help you, but you gotta hep me study for the exams" he said as he tossed his bag onto a nearby desk "Got it?".
Eyes still wide, she watched as he took off his jacket, the warmth on her cheeks growing worse as she could see his muscled arm and back thanks to the thin fabric.
"..yeah.." She buried her face in her hands "..okay".
He spared a glance at her, thinking back to her dead body.
He shook his head, that's what he was here for!
To find the person who's going to kill her in the future!
"Get your ass up and start cleaning!" He deadpanned, prompting her to jump up from the chair.
"Y-yes sir!" She stammered out.

Let Me Love You - a Valentine’s Bunny fic (for hypochondriac-butters)
Kenny scribbled furiously on his piece of bright pink construction paper. He didn't usually put massive amounts of energy into things, it just wasn't his style, but for this, he felt it was worth it. Crayons were scattered across the table of the art room, most of them half-melted and broken from the heat of Kenny's hand or the pressure he had used on them. With a few final flourishes of his hand, he dropped the blue crayon he had been holding, staring down at his masterpiece.
It looked innocent on the outside, only one word written across it in slightly scraggled cursive. Little, colored lines formed swirling patterns, creating a pleasant looking design. However, it was the inside that Kenny was most concerned with. It's reception, at least.
He licked his lips nervously under the hood of his parka, looking around the class. His friends, Stan and Kyle, were sitting together making people chains together, each person linked by the hands with tiny hearts. He would have laughed and called them gay if not for the paper in his hands. His eyes scanned over the rest of the students, taking in each person before alighting on the object of his deepest affections.
Letting out a sigh, he slumped over the table, watching the other paint at an easel. How in the world was he ever going to do this? It's not like he could just walk up and say, "Hey, dude, you're hot and I'm hot, and we're both single. Interesting, right?" No, no. This boy was too good for that. It needed to be special…
A heavy hand dropping onto his shoulder almost made him crush the delicate card in his hands, and Kenny's head snapped around as he leveled a glare at the owner: Eric Cartman.
"Aw, come on, Kinny, don't look at me like that," the chubby boy whined. "I'm here to help you."
"I don't want your help," Kenny growled, but was ignored as Cartman pulled his chair closer.
"I've been watching you as you creep stare at our dear friend," he continued. "I just wanted to say that since I'm so great at helping people get together, how about letting me help you, too?"
"Fuck you, you giant assed-"
"GREAT!" Cartman slapped his back, knocking the poor boy forward and the air out of his lungs. "I was going to try and match up someone else, but I'll move you to the top of my list since we're friends."
Kenny opened his mouth to retort, but stopped when Cartman addressed the air beside him, calling it "Cupid Me". The fuck? Deciding that Cartman was crazy, Kenny got up and slipped away, heading towards the easels. He stopped short, not wanting to get too close. He didn't want to be spotted, seeing as his open staring was pretty weird already.
The boy in question started to turn around, and in a panic, Kenny threw himself to the side, landing heavily on Stan and knocking him into Kyle. The trio collapsed to the floor in a tangle of limbs and pained cries. Of course, this drew the attention of the entire class, and Kenny grabbed the strings of his parka, yanking them to close his hood, hiding his reddening face.
The other students began to laugh, and it took Kenny a full minute to realize it wasn't directed at him. Glancing back, his eyes widened as he saw what was causing the laughter. Stan and Kyle had landed in such a way that resulted in them kissing, and the two were so shocked by this, they hadn't moved away from one another.
Using this as the perfect distraction, Kenny ran out the door into the hallway, snatching the hall-pass from the teacher's desk as he rushed by. Once he was free, he made his way down the hall to his locker. Turning the dial, he popped the metal door open and stashed away his carefully constructed gift. He couldn't risk taking it home, it could get lost or crumpled, and he couldn't keep it on him for the same reasons. No, it would be safest in his locker.
Tomorrow was Valentine's Day, and for all Kenny's perversions, he was a bit of a hopeless romantic.
----------
After narrowly avoiding getting locked in the gym with the object of his affection, Kenny made his way home with his little sister, Karen. The small girl was bouncing as she walked, telling Kenny about her day. He listened closely, a slight smile on his face. Kenny loved listening to her, hearing the excitement and happiness in her voice.
"-then Tricia, you know my best friend? Anyway, then she told our teacher that she didn't care about adding numbers and stuff, and she flipped her off! It was so funny, Kenny, the teacher was so mad!" Karen giggled at the memory, jumping over cracks in the sidewalk. "She's so cool and doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. I wish I was more like her…"
Hearing the sadness entering her tone, Kenny stopped, taking her hand and pulling her into a hug. "Well, I think you're perfect as is," he said. "Don't worry about being like other people. Just be the very best you you can be."
This got a giggle in response, and Karen nodded, hugging him back.
Once home, the little girl went off to her room to play, and Kenny left after checking to see that Kevin was around to watch her. They nodded slightly at each other, then Kenny dropped his backpack in his room and left to hang out with his friends. Arriving at the Marsh residence, he found Stan and Kyle sitting in the front yard, holding hands shyly.
He grinned under his hood, walking up to the pair. "So everything worked out I see," he teased, taking a seat just off to the side so he could look them both in the face. "First kiss wasn't to bad, was it?"
"Oh, shut it, Kenny," Kyle huffed, his face almost as red as his hair. "It's your fault, anyway."
"You're welcome~."
Rolling his eyes, Stan asked, "Do you know what's up Cartman's ass? He was super pissy on the bus home today, and kept saying something about ungrateful bastards. Butters was trying to cheer him up, but it didn't seem to be helping."
Kenny shrugged, flopping back into the snow to hid his sudden blush. "I don't know, did we ever get that alien prob out? Maybe it's malfunctioning and zapping him so he's cranky."
"Oh, man, I can't believe I forgot about that!"
After this, the topic of Cartman was dropped, and the boys went inside to play video games. When the sun had set and Sharon Marsh had fed the three, Kenny returned home with all the leftovers he could carry. As always, he went to his siblings' bedroom first, letting Karen and Kevin eat as much as they wanted before taking the rest to the fridge for his parents.
He went to his room and got into bed. He wasn't particularly tired, but he needed to get as much sleep as possible. It was going to be an emotional day, whether for the good or bad. He had to be ready.
----------
Waking the next morning, Kenny jumped in the shower before anyone else was up. He ate a cold waffle, then scrubbed his teeth for a good ten minutes. He didn't think he was going to get lucky enough for a kiss, but he didn't want to be unprepared if something like what happened to Stan and Kyle happened to him. It paid to be ready for anything.
Dressing quickly, he grabbed his backpack and left, heading to the bus stop a good half hour before he needed to be there. He just couldn't handle waiting around the house. Too many things could go wrong there, better to just go to a relatively safe spot.
He spent the time pacing, and when his friends arrived, the grass was poking through the snow where Kenny had worn it down. Cartman was in a better mood than the day before, and continuously shot knowing looks at Kenny between teasing Kyle and Stan. Every movement from the two, even a simple adjustment to warm their legs, would get him to scream, "OH MY GOD, YOU GUYS ARE SO FUCKIN' GAY!"
Kyle lasted ten minutes, longer than Kenny had anticipated (perhaps Stan's calming presence was already helping him), before he jumped on the other and they rolled around, fists flying and legs kicking. It was no small effort for Stan and Kenny to pull them apart, and they managed it just as the bus pulled up.
Tucking his hair back into his hat, Kyle boarded first, stomping to the back and throwing himself down, Stan settling beside him and whipping the dirt and snow from Kyle's jacket as best he could.
Chuckling to himself, Kenny followed, sliding into the last empty seat. The ride to the school was blissfully short, and Kenny rocketed out of the vehicle and to his locker, beating the flood of students that poured in shortly after.
Ripping his locker open, he gingerly removed the card he had so carefully crafted the day before. When it was in his hands, Kenny felt like he was on overdrive, aware of every single tiny detail all around him. He had to keep his gift safe until he could get it to it's target.
Challenging his inner ninja, he let the other students move him as though he were a leaf in a stream. Or, more accurately, a dry, dead leaf caught in a rapid. He was shunted from one side of the hall to the other, bumping and crashing into things left and right. For a brief moment, he wondered how disappointed Token would be in him for dishonoring the ninjas so terribly, but he quickly refocused.
Reaching the classroom, he forced his way through the crowd and popped into the room. He looked around, taking in all the people milling about and talking before the day began. Spotting his goal, he took a steady breath, straightened his parka, and walked over.
Butters was sitting at his desk, humming brightly as he organized a small stack of valentines, the kind bought at dollar stores. They were Hello Kitty brand, and Kenny could see the edges of fake tattoos poking out from each.
"Hey, Butters," he said, taking the desk beside him.
"Oh, heya, Ken!" the blonde greeted, sending him a smile that almost sent the death-prone boy straight into heaven. "How ya doing today? Do you have any plans with a special lady later?"
Oh, boy.
"Ah, no. I, um, I wanted to give you something." He held out the somehow still pristine card, offering it to him. "You don't have to read it now if you don't want too." In his mind, he silently begged the other not to read it until he was struck down, then he could forget and Kenny could get over him. But the universe just loved to fuck with him, so instead of him dropping dead, Butters put aside his cards and took the pink paper, flipping it open immediately.
Kenny's body tensed, his eyes focused on Butters' expression. The pink was brighter than Kenny remembered, and he wished he had used a less… noticeable color. As he watched, Butters' eyes grew wider and wider until he was sure they would fall out. A small twinge of guilt flared in his stomach when he saw the almost invisible scar line that went down the boy's left eye, but he didn't have time to think about it as Butters turned to face him. He was gripping the paper tightly, as if worried someone would take it from him.
"Ken, d-do you really mean all this?" he asked, his voice soft.
Silently, Kenny nodded, not trusting his voice. This was it, the moment of truth.
Butters looked between the card and Kenny, then a smile began to grow on his face, getting wider and wider until it looked almost painful. He bounced in his seat and laughed, then jumped up.
"Aw, Ken, you're so mushy!" He looked down at the carefully planned love confession, practically glowing with pure sunshine happiness. "I didn't know you were so poetic, neither!"
"Well, what can I say? You bring out my creative side, B-" The blonde's hand pressed into the fabric over Kenny's mouth, shutting him up. He looked at the other in surprise, wondering what he was doing.
"Nuh uh," Butters scolded lightly. "If you really wanna date me, Ken, you have to call me Leo, okay? But ONLY you get to call me that."
Kenny blushed, but smiled, grabbing his hand. "Anything for you."
"Anything?" Butters tugged on one of the parka strings. "Then could ya pull your hood down for a moment?"
Without hesitation, Kenny used his free hand to pull back his hood, shaking out his hair. As he had done this exactly zero times in school before, it immediately caught the attention of all the others, though the pair didn't notice, too busy in their own little world.
"What did you want me to do that for, Leo?"
The softest thing Kenny had ever felt brushed his lips lightly, and his entire being felt like it had caught fire. It wasn't painful like real fire, however, just warm and… dare he say, nice?
It took half a second too long to process that Butters, BUTTERS, had been the brave one and kissed him first. Holy shit. He hadn't thought it was possible to be more in love, but BOY had he been wrong.
"Oh, gee, I-I hope I didn't upset you, Kenny. I was just real happy because of your note that I couldn't help myself," Butters said as he inched back, his hands curling into loose fists as he rubbed his knuckles together nervously.
Before he could say anything else, Kenny pulled him into a hug, pressing gentle kisses all over Butters' face, making the boy squeal and giggle.
"You could never upset me, Leo," he said, finally moving back, though he didn't let him go. "I meant every word of that letter. I would die for you a million times, more if you needed me too. I don't know if I would actually be successful, but I'd be willing to give murder a shot to make you happy."
Butters snorted and broke into the bubbly laughter that Kenny adored. He patted his floof of hair, making it bounce. "For real, Leo. I don't know how you did it, but you kicked the shit out of my heart and made it yours."
"That's real gay, Ken." Butters tapped the tip of Kenny's nose, smiling. "Good thing I'm bi-curious."

The Knight Before Christmas
Original Airdate: November 21, 2019 (Netflix) Where to Watch?: It’s a Netflix original, so it should be available on the service forever
Bonkers is usually my favorite kind of made-forTV Christmas Movie. Give me a gal crawling through her dryer into an alternate life or a waitress kidnapping a guy to force him to pretend to be her boyfriend for Christmas and I am all-in. So, a 12th century knight transported to 2019 to romance an art teacher should have been right up my alley.
In our story, an English knight in literal shining armor goes hunting and runs into an “Old Crone” who transports him to 2019 Ohio…You know, as you do. There, he’s mistaken for a “Christmas castle” cosplayer (not a thing) who’s a little too into his role, and then Gomez hits him with her car; After which a kindly sheriff neither arrests nor questions either Selena Gomez nor the guy calling cars “steel horses.” And wouldn’t it be “steel carriage”…Even ignoring the fact that steel didn’t exist in 1334 Europe at all? “Steel horses” makes him sound more like a big Bon Jovi fan, a.k.a. a guy from 1984, not 1334.
Anyway, this crack law enforcement officer simply hooks up Sir Cole (which is the dumbest name ever, since it always sounds like Gomez is calling him “Circle”) with an MRI—you wanna talk culture shock, wait till he gets that medical bill—and then leaves him in the care of his attempted murderer.
Who, of course, has an empty, but fully decorated for Christmas, 1800 sq. ft. guest house with massive stone fireplace and 10” baseboards. You know, as all single, public school teachers, who are daughters of small town cops do. Her own house is a roughly 6-bed mansion with an all marble kitchen and pool, again, as is common for her profession.
Throughout the movie, we kept repeating Gomez's phrase used to describe her freaking GUEST HOUSE, “it’s nothing fancy,” to punctuate the increasingly ridiculous level of opulence in this teacher’s life.
The ostentatious nature of the housing is matched only by the terribleness of the wig on the one unfortunate student of Gomez’s who shows up whenever Teach needs to expound on love. Definitely a very cool and very legal thing for a public school teacher to be sharing with what looks like, maybe, an 8th grader. In the end, they put a little clip in this poor girl’s ‘do, but it still looks less real than anything else in this movie that is, in case you forgot, about a 12th century knight coming to present-day Ohio.
Anyway, back to that, his mind is blown by the radio, but he seems super chill with showers (or just indoor plumbing in general), electricity, cars, Netflix and women wearing pants, among 10,000 other things that would drive a person transported from 700 years ago instantly insane. The fact that they can even understand each other, or that he could read modern English (the Diner menu), is laughable, given how much the English language has changed since the Middle Ages.
No one in Gomez’s life seems especially fussed that she’s allowed a crazy person to move into her “nothing fancy" guest house, and is now taking him around with her everywhere. At one point she even lends him her car. This college-educated woman who has known a man for three days and is aware he thinks he’s a 12th century knight, just hands him the car keys like, ’Yes, this is a good idea.’ And, he totally figures out how to drive with no issues and mostly just parks badly. What?!?
There’s also some nonsense where he has to rescue her niece who has somehow gotten lost in a snowstorm, while in her own backyard, and ended up in the middle of a frozen lake. It’s possible this entire family is so dimwitted that they should all be instantly transported back to the 1300s to drop dead in days from one of the diseases or bacteria we have no immunity towards.
That may sound harsh but, to sum up, Gomez brought a stranger claiming to be a time-traveling knight into her house, then lent him her car, while her sister pushed her daughter and another child into the yard during a blizzard, wherein the niece somehow ends up miles away on a frozen lake. Perhaps this is a gene pool not worth preserving, is all I’m saying.
There’s also, for no reason at all, a poor, potentially homeless, widower who, quote, “works two jobs, but still finds time to volunteer to help others.” Umm, what? Who is taking care of his own kids while he does this? What a hero—never seeing his own children, or providing adequate food and shelter for them. But, sure, volunteering is more important. They, I don’t know, buy him presents. or something. So, problem solved…Hurrah, I guess?
Eventually, Sir Cole/Circle is transported home because he kissed Gomez, but then he immediately rides out and is zapped back, this time with his horse. In that same time, Gomez has cried and found an ornament he carved, and gone back to this Christmas carnival half the movie takes place at, which is still going on for, hand wave, reasons, on Christmas Day. Oh, and the little girl who can’t even navigate her backyard is given a surprise puppy her parents don’t want to care for. Voila, happy ending! (Also, RIP Fido.)
Last year’s The Princess Switch, starring Gomez as a baker and royal who were identical doppelgängers, was the sort of crazy I enjoy in a Christmas movie.
This one had so much potential in the concept, but the script read like they actually did what I joked when the movie was announced: came up with the punny title first, then the movie itself was an afterthought.
I watched this with wine and friends, and we heckled it throughout, so still had a decent time, and this one does have a so-bad-its-good-vibe I kind of admired, but it’s also still, you know, not good.
UPDATE: Wait, there’s a post-credits scene teasing a sequel where its implied that the brother also time travels? If they somehow connect this to the now-filming Princess Switch sequel, making teacher Vanessa Hudgens the third switcher, I will retroactively love The Knight Before Christmas.
Final Judgement: 2 Paws Up, solely for how incredibly easy this one is to make fun of

“Anti?” Lucy called out as she walked through the park after school. She looked around for any sign of her friends, “Mare? Where are you guys?”
It was at this point the child thought her friends had abandoned her. This was the first time in months no one had found her in the park to keep her from going home to a father who would not spare her a minute.
Lucy couldn’t help but smile at the narration that filled her ears. She giggled a bit as she covered her eyes with her hands.
“Ok Host! Where am I going?” she called out.
She decided to keep walking along the concrete path. Maybe they were just about to enter the park. She could try and surprise them for once.
She couldn’t help but giggle as she walked forward. She liked keeping her eyes covered, it added to the excitement of whatever world the Host was going to put her in. She felt her backpack bounce slightly with every step, and that feeling only made her walk faster it seemed.
Until she ran into someone.
“Lucy? How many times have we told you not to walk like that.” she heard a familiar voice say.
She felt gentle hands grab her wrists and pull her hands from her face. When she saw Natemare knelt down in front of her she couldn’t help but grin and jump up to hug him.
“Mare!”
The entity laughed and scooped her up. “Sorry I’m a little late today Little Lu.” He said spinning her around slightly which made her laugh. “We have something big planned for you today.”
“What is it what is it?” she couldn’t help but ask.
But Natemare just laughed and ruffled her hair. “You’ll find out.”
“Wait will I?” she asked looking around. “Where’s Host?”
And as if on cue, The Host walked out, book in hand despite the fact his eyes were still wrapped in bandages. He closed it and tucked it under his arm.
And so He began to narrate. Reunited, the three began their journey towards the surprise.
“It’s just down the street I wouldn’t call it a journey.” Natemare teased but Lucy jumped down from him anyway.
“Host your bandages are dirty!” She cried as she ran towards him. “How are your eyes supposed to get better if you don’t change them?” she asked as she quickly took off her backpack.
“Wait why did you bring bandages with you to school?” Natemare asked.
“I’ve been doing it since that one day Anti and me had that tree climbing race and I fell and hurt my leg pretty bad.” She explained pulling out them out.
The Host knelt down and as she reached for them he gently grabbed her hands.
“You know they’re never going to heal right Lucy?” He asked.
She didn’t say anything for awhile but she reached behind is head to undo them. “Just cause Dr. Iplier said they’re not going to heal doesn’t mean we can stop trying. Doctors said the same thing about my mama when she got sick. They said she’d never get better, but that didn’t stop her from trying to, even when she went away she was still trying. ” Lucy stated.
He let her take the bandages off but made sure she didn’t have to see the mess for very long. Once they were all changed she smiled and grabbed one of his hands.
“Come on!” She yelled pulling him up. He gave a small chuckle as she ran back to Natemare and grabbed his hand. “Where are we going where are we going?” She asked.
“Come on it’s this way.” Natemare said with a laugh leading the way.
A couple minutes later and Lucy recognized that they were coming up to the fair grounds. She remembered a couple of students talk about how the fair was going to be coming to town again this year. But she was confused on what they could do now. Her classmates made it sound like it wasn’t opening for another week.
As they stepped closer, she noticed a familiar glitch demon standing on top of a wooden crate.
“Ladies and Gentlemen!” Anti started to yell from on top of his box, and a top hat on his head. “Entities and Lucys! Gather around Gather around!”
Lucy couldn’t help but giggle as she let go of Natemare and The Host to run up to see Anti better. “What are you doing Anti?” She asked.
“Well little girl.” Anti teased with a smirk. “For one day and one day only, we get the entire fair grounds to ourselves!” He announced.
Excitement and confusion rushed through her veins as she looked back at Natemare and The Host, to see if they would agree with what Anti said.
“They set up the place earlier than usual, so we figured why not go and have the same awesome experience, without all the people pushing and shoving you out of the way.” Natemare explained with a shrug as if this wasn’t a big deal.
“Won’t we get into trouble though?” She asked looking back up at Anti who jumped down from his box.
“Nah there’s no one here to bust us.” Anti said with a smirk.
“Lucy do you accept this adventure?” The Host asked.
She nodded quickly and smiled. “Yeah! Let’s go!”
The Host cleared his throat. Lucy bounced in her spot as he begun narrating.
And so the group walked towards the gates of the fairgrounds despite the lock-
A loud zap though made everyone jump.
Lucy turned towards the gate to see Anti had already gone ahead, and broken the lock that kept the gates close.
“Anti that was rude!” Lucy scolded lightly.
“What?” He asked innocently. “Your not the only one excited to get in there kid.” Anti said with a shrug.
“Hey Glitchy, bet I can eat more deep fried stuff then you can” Natemare challenged as he walked forward.
“Oh it’s on.” Anti called as the two had ran off ahead.
“Guys wait!” Lucy yelled but it went unheard. The two were already off. She turned back towards The Host. “What were you going to say?”
The Host sighed and shook his head. “No it’s ok Lucy.” He assured. “Shall we go in?”
“Yeah!” She said going in ahead.
She spent nearly the whole evening there with them. Anti was able to get the machines started to work all the rides. Natemare and Anti both went on the really big ones with her to keep her from getting too scared. And The Host was more than glad escort her through the haunt house while Natemare and Anti went through the food court and tried to figure out how to get them working.
Lucy was taking a break. She had pulled out some papers from her backpack just to go over what she needed to do for homework when she heard one of them sit down next to her.
“Whatcha got there kiddo?” Anti asked.
“homework.” She whined. “I forgot I got a lot to do when I get home…”
“Aw so does that mean you’re going to have to leave us early?” Anti asked.
“What’s that I hear about leaving early?” She heard Natemare from behind her.
“I got homework!” She called over her shoulder.
She heard Natemare make a noise of disgust and slight frustration as she felt his head on top of hers.
“Don’t worry about that until you get home. Come on we still haven’t gone through the hall with all the weird mirrors.” Natemare said.
“Yeah and there’s still the carnival games still to play.” Anti argued.
Lucy sighed a bit and shoved everything back into her bag. She got up and was just about to say she’d stay for a little longer when she heard someone she didn’t recognize.
“Hello?!”
She turned and saw the shadow of someone walking up.
“You’re Trespassing on private property! Come on out and you won’t get in any worse trouble then you’re already in!”
“I thought you said there was no one here Anti?” Lucy asked as she turned back.
But when she turned around, Anti and Natemare were nowhere to be seen.
Filled with fear of what consequences would be bestowed upon her, she could hear The Host begin to narrate, Lucy gathered her things quickly into her arms and ran as fast as her legs could carry her.
She didn’t argue. She flung her backpack onto her back and ran as quickly as she could away from the person coming towards her.
This wasn’t the first time the boys tried scaring her like this. She’s been left alone in scarier places with monsters coming after her. But unlike those times she felt real panic bubbling inside her. This wasn’t just a monster she could out smart or slay.
This was a real person who could get her into real trouble. She could only imagine how furious her father would be if he was to get called about her breaking into the fair grounds.
“Anti?! Mare?!” She yelled as she ran past the carnival games. “T-this isn’t funny! Help me!” She cried as she tried to find somewhere to hide.
But everything was too opened. She couldn’t find something she could duck down behind or crawl into. She could hear heavy footsteps behind her. She was being chased, she had to of been.
She turned between two of the food stands into a dead end. It was hard to breathe as she turned around only to see the shadow of whoever it was growing as they got closer to her.
“No no no no” her chest felt tight. Her body felt like it was starting to cave in on itself as she couldn’t help but cover her head with her arms and crouch down in attempt to make herself disappear.
She was so scared out of her mind, she didn’t even notice the world suddenly felt…off.
“Good Evening Officer.” She heard a familiar smooth voice say.
In an instant her body stopped shaking, slowly her hands dropped from her head as she looked up to see it was indeed a police officer at the entrance of the small alley.
“What do you think you’re doing here-“
“I could be asking you the same thing.” she heard Darkiplier speak from behind her. “I received a message from one of my friends that my daughter has been chased into here by gremlins disguised as school children.” He scorned as if he was legitimately furious. “Instead of chasing down the attackers who could be doing far worse to this place since they’ve lost sight of her. You’ve decided to chase down a poor seven year old, nearly causing her to go into a complete Panic attack.”
The Officer looked as if he was about to run away himself. She didn’t move until she felt a gentle hand take her shoulder. She slowly got up and held onto Dark’s suit jacket. She could feel herself starting to calm down but she still felt on edge.
It didn’t take much more to make the Officer leave on a wild goose chase for other kids. With a gentle hand Dark lead Lucy off the fairgrounds without another word.
At least until they were about a block away from the gates.
“Would either of you like to explain why you allowed Lucy into such a panicked state?!” She could hear Darkiplier’s voice boom.
“I didn’t think this would freak her out so bad, she’s faced a whole lot worse than a man in an overpriced uniform.” Natemare argued.
“Yeah, but more importantly, what makes you think you can claim her as your kid?!” Anti yelled.
“She might as well be since I’m the only one that takes care of her properly.” Dark hissed.
“Now wait a minute, I’ve done pretty good looking after her when she’s done from school.” Natemare argued.
“Not as good as me.” Anti grumbled.
“Anti you let her drop 10 feet out of a tree.” Natemare hissed.
“And all she got was a few cuts and a big bruise!”
But the arguing stopped when Lucy whimpered. There was too much yelling, they sounded too angry. She had a death grip on Dark’s jacket as the two took small steps forward.
“Little Lu?” Anti asked.
“Hey, we’re sorry, it’s ok.” Natemare cooed.
Dark knelt down, she let go of his jacket just for a moment so she could bury her face into is shoulder.
“I wanna go home.” she mumbled.
“As you wish, hold on.” Dark said as he wrapped his arms around her and picked her up. She held onto him tightly. “I’m taking her home.” Dark stated.
As Dark carried her away, she looked up to see Anti and Natemare heartbroken it looked like. She managed a small wave goodbye, a small gesture to make sure they knew she wasn’t mad at them.
They cracked a small smile as Dark turned the corner.
That night she sat in her bed in her pajamas struggling to finish her homework. It turned out to be much harder then she thought it would be. She was just about to shove it off the bed when the room seemed to be a bit foggier than usual. She turned towards her closet to see grey smoke coming out from the bottom of it.
“Mare?” She asked as she got off her bed and walked towards it.
But when she opened the door, he wasn’t there.
“How you doing Lucy?” he asked from behind her.
She jumped and turned to see him sitting on her bed.
“Mare you scared me!” she whined a bit as she went back to her bed. “I’m doing ok…”
“Sorry for scaring you…in and outside the fair…” He apologized.
She frowned a bit and grabbed her homework and gently booped him on the head.
“It’s ok…I know you guys didn’t mean It.” she said as she put her homework to the side. “Where’s Anti?”
“Still fighting with Dark.” Natemare grumbled. “He’s still salty about what dark said.”
Lucy couldn’t help but giggle. “But you all are my dad’s.” She said before something crossed her mind and for a moment she felt panicked again. “Wait is Host ok? I didn’t say goodbye to him!”
“It’s ok Little Lu.” Mare said with a smile. “He was actually the one that went and got Mr. Grumpy pants. You’ll probably see him tomorrow.”
Lucy sighed. “Ok, good…” she looked back to her homework and couldn’t help but make a face.
“Stuck?” Mare asked.
“Yeah, I thought it would be easy but it’s not…” she grumbled.
Natemare spent a couple of minutes helping her fly through the rest of her homework and picking out a stuffed animal to sleep with before he grabbed her pillow and started to shake it out.
“Good dreams ahoy!” He announced before throwing it at the head of her bed. “There, set for bed?”
“Yeah!” She said as she crawled under her blanket. “Thanks Mare!”
He smiled for a moment before his face turned slightly serious. “You know Lucy…you don’t have to stay here…”
She sat up slightly and frowned a bit. “I know…Anti tells me that when he tucks me in. I could live with one of you guys instead of here.”
“Maybe since it’s you we could all get a place together.” Mare joked.
It made Lucy giggle a bit but it didn’t keep the smile on her face. “My dad just misses my mom a whole lot…I do to you know.”
“I understand that, but you don’t have anyone to take care of but yourself, and even then you don’t have to do much. Lucy you ate twice the amount you usually do today at the fair. Did you eat lunch today?” Mare asked.
“I didn’t have enough.” Lucy mumbled.
“And has your dad done anything about the brats at school?”
Lucy looked down and messed with the edge of her blanket. “He…he doesn’t really pay attention when I tell him about my day…”
“Do you think that’s how dads are supposed to be treating their kids?” Mare asked.
Lucy didn’t answer.
“You know we’d be treating you a lot better…We’d get Google could teach you whatever you want to know. Anti would make sure you stay active. I’d be your side kick in whatever world Host introduces you into. And you know Dark would make sure you don’t get to scared or overwhelmed by anything.”
“Don’t make me choose…” Lucy begged, feeling her chest hurt.
Natemare said nothing, just hugged her and held her close as she held onto him.
“You guys would be great dads…I know it…you’d make sure I’d never be sad for too long…But what about my dad, what would happen to him if I left? He’ll get better; he just needs time, like I needed time.” she explained.
“If he doesn’t soon, Dark’s going to ask you, and you know how hard it is to tell him no.” Mare said.
“I know…” Lucy mumbled.
It wasn’t long after Mare was tucking in Lucy in and turning off her light. She laid there and let her eyes drift close. She loved the guys; they were a part of her family. But she couldn’t abandon what little of her first one she had left. Her dad would get better. The kids at school would leave her alone. She just needed more time.
Time would fix everything.
