It still doesnt fail to send chills down my spine, but whenever I watch "Stryke Out". The moment when Ryker sees Toothless in the arena and the immediate recognition on his face. How he demands to know what was done with Hiccup. Like, knowing they were a package deal, how there wasn't a chance of it being another Night Fury. Even Ryker's promise of death if Toothless was killed.

I've always considered a what if. Of had the Riders not arrived in time. The hunters able to subdue the Triple Stryke. Hiccup and Toothless assuredly taken straight to Viggo.

So in Stryke Out. At the end we see Whip-Slash, Steeltrap, and the Razorwhip escape.

But that fighter Gronckle was never seen again after Hiccup fed it.

I’m guessing that he died after a fight with the Razorwhip…

Poor guy…he deserved better.

An alternative direction for Stryke Out where Elder gets stuck in a cage, Toothless is the top competitor for more than a few dragon fights, and— what's this? By Thor, there's a colorful mood dragon here, and she can speak Norse! What are the odds of that?

Little does Elder know that wherever this mood dragon is, Camicazi will be close behind.

What dragons would each Bad Sans Member have? Is it like How To Train Your Dragon? Or different kinds of dragons?

Yeah it'd be out of How to Train Your Dragon dragons because I'm the most familiar with those- except expect them to be scaled up to a biiiit bigger

Dust would absolutely have a skrill. There's something about the two of those together that tickles something in my brain- Plus, seeing him on the back of a lightning-wielding dragon would be awesome (he probably gets electrocuted sometimes)

Killer feels like he'd have a Triple Stryke- Quick, fast, agile, and scorpion-like. His kind of fighting style!

Cross has the general vibes of a Stormcutter. A sense of aloofness yet also sass... it suits him pretty well!

Horror would probably have a Deathgripper. The sort of... solidness and ambient danger about them suits quite nicely I'd think

Nightmare "has" a Bewilderbeast. Him and Dream were entrusted with them as kids. Other than that, he actually rides a Monstrous Nightmare.

Seems like my choice of worst dragon is out! (It was the Cavern Crasher. Cool name, horrible sleazy beast, like what even in the). What's yours?

i didn't include either fury in the previous bracket bc i knew toothless would body every other species and honestly ive seen that happen before so i dont care to see it again

however, i have included both in this bracket bc i would love to see the light fury be crowned as worst. i dont know if that will actually happen bc i think as a fandom we're quite good at picking apart the little things... i still want to see the light fury lose

i hate its beluga whale face and tiny inbred ankles and glitter scales and every "female" trait they could force on that god forsaken thing. for a movie that went all out of realistic environments and sand particles and hyper detailed scale colouring they really just went "whats gonna sell as a plushie best?" and called it good enough

im going at this with a focus on design but as someone with an art degree (that im not ever even gonna use now??? let me grieve) thats whats standing out to me. and not everyone is gonna judge based on appearances bc i purposefully left that door open so we could judge these dragons overall instead of specific traits.

but while we're on the topic

hard agree on the cavern crasher. like admittedly its not a bad design, its just gross af and i avoid looking at the screen when it turns up bc it does actually turn my stomach a bit. "mucus" is bad enough without splashing it on everything & adding squirting sounds..

i hate the knock off pokemon types too, so shadow wings, triple strykes, sandbusters, shellfire also kinda fits that, submaripper, buffalord is a bit nebulous but also fits. im probably forgetting a few. grim gnashers are weirdo looking things but it felt more like the designers tried on those things.

mostly i hate the things that dont look like they have the potential to be real. like i can see any other dragon getting adapted to an irl performance pretty well but how in tf would you deal with a shadow wing? thats straight up a pokemon (derogatory).

Dragon (httyd) au, what dragon everyone rides and how they met.

Luffy- Triple stryke, saved kid Luffy's life and stuck around. Stromcutter, deiced to protect Luffy and his Dragon because otherwise they would die. Light fury, this time Luffy saved her.

Zoro- Rumble horn, had a staring contest. Zoro won.

Sanji- deadly nadder. He spent his early childhood with dragon hunters, left saving the dragon on his way out.

Nami- Skrill, also raised by dragon hunters. Her and the Skrill truma bonded and now will die for one another.

Ussop- death song.

Chopper- razorwhip, it saw Chopper thought that he was cute and started following him.

Robin- death gripper, it's supposed to smart and looks like it's straight from hell.

Brook- Boneknapper, obviously. In this au brook just wears a cartoon skull mask.

Franky- gronckle, he found it with only 3 legs and made him a 4th.

Jimbei- scualdron. Fed it some fish as a child.

Buggy- screaming death, young buggy found a young screaming death in a collapsing cave, grabbed the fucker and ran.

Shanks- timberjack, raised from a young age.

Roger- night fury, saved him and they have been together ever since.

Coby- Luffy's stromcutter, Luffy wanted her to protect him and stromcutter stuck around.
