I love how you draw Grim the size of a small cat. It genuinely blows my mind that according to the game he's actually approximately 70 cm tall... Like, Ortho is 148 cm. That's only two Grims! If Grim stands on Ortho's head, they'd be just a bit taller than Malleus (who is 202 cm and I'm not sure that's counting the horns)! The proportions are just so wild to try to imagine realistically... (and I do like the small cat Grim take more, it's very endearing)

every time I remember Grim is actually supposed to be the size of, like, a medium-to-largeish dog, and then I just...draw him cat-sized anyway. I also think it's cuter that way! 🤷 (let's just say he's not allowed to ride the servant unless he takes the shrinking potion first.)

ultimately I figure we all get a little artistic license in our fanart, and mine are:

#twisted wonderland #as far as i can tell this is not a furret situation and that 70cm does not include his tail #grim's just a big boy #a big boy who needs big helpings of tuna to sustain his giant head #(waiting for him to pull a persona and crack open to reveal a handsome anime man underneath)#i do like wide/buff silver too even though i know that isn't really canon #(i'll argue for buff sebek but silver i think is supposed to be more wiry/people are constantly surprised by how strong he is anyway)#i just...like the contrast of Two Big Guards for lilia the excitable twig and malleus the long wet drip of a man #and as long as jack remains the widest in the land i figure it all evens out somehow #(if i remember right malleus' height does include the horns) (and i think jack's includes his ears and hair which is even funnier somehow)#(i have seen some attempts to figure it out but i don't think there's ever been an official answer on height without their sticky-up bits)#(looking at the height chart mal looks about the same height as the twins and jack very slightly shorter. but that's just eyeballing it)#(don't ask how the 1cm difference between jade and floyd factors in i don't know)

#silm #silmarillion #maedhros #dracula #crossover #oh i think i need a tag for this too #it already has its own sticky note color so it gets a tag #hmm #mae's adventures in castle dracula #context: he cut himself a bit on a broken bookshelf and drac grabbed his arm #then promptly got punched #also mae; being very treelight-y; is a natural vampire repellant apparently #so not only did dracula get punched in the face #he basically got punched in the face by a giant crucifix in terms of the amount of damage it dealt #after this scene mae briefly wonders if he misjudged how strong a punch an old adan can survive #because drac just fell on the floor and didnt move for a full ten minutes #dracula: where did you learn to fight like that #maedhros: i have six younger brothers and all of them bite #wait. after dealing with his various bitey siblings/cousins' antics mae is probably the best person at avoiding being bitten #his reflexes are strong enough that drac tries to bite him and he automatically grabs drac by the back of the collar #and relocates him to the newly declared Time Out Corner #drac runs away to hide in his room pondering his life choices #while mae realizes 'oh wait. that was a vampire'#because hey an angry guy wearing all black attacking you with his teeth? that describes teenage caranthir pretty well

i just spent ages looking for the post, i swear i posted about it when i broke my beloved fish plate like a year ago, but now he's finally back together! i just have to wait a week or so for the resin to cure , and then i can go in and wipe away the excess gold. even though the process was frustrating and VERY time-consuming and i lost motivation halfway through and let it sit on the shelf unfinished for like 14 months, i'm glad i went to the trouble of learning how to actually kintsugi it with resin and gold instead of rushing it with epoxy and mica powder.

the before pics (freshly broken and after the initial gluing):

#kinda wish i'd gotten pics of him when i'd filled in the voids and done all the coats of resin on top and sanded them down #the different types of resin were different colors and after sanding it had kind of a marbled look #the process basically goes like: filing down sharp edges to create a gap for the gold to show #gluing everything back together with resin mixed with flour and water to make it strong and sticky #filling in the voids with resin mixed with fine sawdust to make it strong (this part took the longest bc you can't put the paste on thickly)#creating a uniform surface with resin mixed with (i think) fine clay powder #creating a smooth finish by alternately painting on layers of pure resin and sanding it down once cured #(the resin will wrinkle if applied too thickly or if it's too humid)#(this is also used to smooth out the rough areas that the resin/clay step couldn't fix)#and finally painting on a final layer of resin and applying gold powder and burnishing it slightly #each layer of resin takes about a week to cure #if my apartment was more humid and if i hadn't lost steam i think this would've taken me... three months #and thats assuming i could work on it every weekend #seriously it's only worth doing if it's a piece you really love #alternatively if you didn't care about looks you could just stop after sticking it together but idk how food safe it would be #ALSO. BIG word of warning.#the uncured resin could give you a really nasty painful rash if you touch it with bare skin #it is not a joke #once it's cured tho it's inert

Most of my comics are drawn on standard letter paper (8.5"x11"), and to date I have filled 23 pages! I usually manage to fit roughly 6-8 comics per page.

#ask #I have several more pages filled in a sketchbook for practice/studies and my 'better drawn' work #Each square panel is 1.5 inches (1/4 of a sticky note) and I use pretty small nub ink pens.#I actually hadn't counted how many I had filled (in my head it was roughly 1 new page a week) so this was a cool prompt to do so!#it's also wild to go back and look at my old comics! Really hits home how far I've come!#I felt so confident in my 3 panel format. Only to give it up by like... comic 11.#I meant to take a picture of the first early pages and compare it with the new comics but oh man taking photos was never my strong suit.#I hate shadows. I hate lighting. I hate angles. Defeated by the shadow of my hand and terrible camera quality.#I also do not have enough floor space to lay them all out... I Might need to ask a friend for their floor. And phone.#There's a little unused follower thank you i've never posted on the first page too! Will probably delete later but genuinely WHY do so many ppl hate uf papyrus. "He’s horrible and a bad brother and abusive >:(((" my guy. YOU made him that way

#always weirds me out when a really bad take becomes popular fanon and ppl treat it like it's an inherent universal take #happens to all characters I feel but it's esp frustrating when it's not just a bad take but just straight making a character a certain way #as a plot device. or to project ur own issues onto. at that point just. make an oc or smth. why mangle a character so severely. what is #the purpose #im not even going to TRY to pretend i have perfect ic flawless interps (I absolutely don't and know this)#but even w/ characters I have minimal interest in (like asgore for ex) it's important to me to at least *try* to keep them in line w/ their #og counterparts.#and you'd think. given how so many ppl infantilized Papyrus. that some of that would've bled thru into au counterparts #but nope. the fanon versions are practically just wholly different characters who just look similar and 'fill the same role' in their au #and it's honestly not like there's a shortage of other characters sans could have a toxic relationship with in uf #(bc let's be honest here that's 90% of the reason uf papyrus got characterized that way. for ppl to project onto and sympathize with sans)#I don't like having strong negative opinions on things and I especially don't like talking abt them publicly but idk if it's just weird #timing or smth I've seen so many bad takes the past couple weeks #to each their own and I'd never like. bash someone for having a diff take than me. I've always loved the look of tv!Master Chief in his undersuit, so I did my best to recreate my very own action figure undersuit!John. 😇😉

Click to make bigger. Now, granted, people with steadier hands than I could've painted details on the suit to make it more authentic but, well, ya girl has to work with what ya girl has to work with. 🤷‍♀️😉

The recipe, if you're interested, is a Valaverse Action Force Special Ops trooper body and the Star Wars Black Series Axe Woves head. They did not swap easily, I should warn, but it's doable. 😉

I really love him and am so glad to have him on my desk at long last! ⭐💖⭐
