why are there two different Dear Mike letters

Mike reads El's letter, crumples it, and throws it in Will's trash can.

in the next episode, Colonel Army Man fishes it out of the trash and, abracadabra!

It's a totally different piece of paper!

A) the message is written at the top of the paper, B) there's no horizontal crease where she folded it like a greeting card, and C) there's a second Dear Mike underneath.

The lettering looks identical to me (except for the second Dear Mike), like, I feel pretty good saying one of these is a literal duplicate of the other, even though this is 100% clearly NOT the same piece of paper.

the second Dear Mike feels like El having drafted the note multiple times before writing the real deal. (more evidence of this being a breakup letter imo)

"maybe this is a draft paper Army Man found in her bedroom?"

I mean.. I can't prove it's not, but why'd they give us this whole close up shot of Army Man looking into the trash can and seeing one (1) piece of paper - the same trash can they just gave us the close up of Mike throwing the note into? they're extremely clearly establishing this particular piece of paper's whereabouts.
