I am aware that when people say "i'm going to have a stroke" it is hyperbole and they are just trying to say "this thing is making me feel like my brain isn't working" or, a similar sentiment.
However, as a person who had a stroke I do want you to know that it is entirely possible to have a stroke and not experience it like what you may expect from media and stroke awareness campaigns. Additionally, it is entirely possible to have a stroke and have no underlying medication conditions or factors. You can, in fact, have a stroke and they will have no idea why.
Some of the arteries leading to your head, especially in the back, can be a little weird. When we were trying to determine why I had a stroke, and ultimately the doctors had to say, "we don't know why," my neurologist told me that sometimes it's about the stress on the artery. You've probably gone to the hairdresser and had them put your head in the sink, right? Apparently that extension of the neck is enough stress that over time it could be why your artery tears and results in a stroke.
This isn't to alarm you, but to inform.
You may be familiar with the F.A.S.T awareness campaigns. If not, it's this:
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty
Time to call 911
And, in many strokes these are the signs and you should absolutely get help if this happens to you or you see this happen to someone else.
I didn't experience any of these when I had my stroke. I was talking to my therapist and suddenly lost my understanding of gravity and place. I became dizzy with no warning. Unfortunately, this was not the first time this happened to me, so it wasn't terribly alarming and is part of why it took four months to learn I'd had a stroke. But, I learned since that sudden unexplained dizziness is actually a symptom of a stroke, it's just not so common to have alone. I just had a very rare type of stroke.
Anyway. I get people like to be hyperbolic, and I'm not offended by it, but I do think that a lot of people don't think they could have a stroke, may not be able to identify a stroke, and may be under the misconception this is something that only happens when you are old. I was 33.
You've only one brain, if anything seems weird, please go get medical attention.

This is an awesome podcast episode that goes over the relationship between the Stroke and Coxswain. They especially highlight the intricate communication that is necessary for the boat to be successful and give examples of conversations, interactions, and nonverbal hand signals that some coxswains and strokes use. It’s definitely worth a listen just to imagine Bobby and Don together in some of their examples.

Here’s a quick round-up of May’s Ko-Fi Shop bulletins to round off the month!
✨3 New Members joined the Creature Feature Tier! ✨ Thank you! Having that kind of constant support is incredibly sweet and reassuring!
And I hope you’ll enjoy the Alien Plastica palette and guide! I definitely went for a more old school, pop comic feel, and got some inspiration from the plastic toy versions of said comic monsters, so I hope it came across in the colors! 🦖
REMINDER! These Special Commissions only last for the month for members, so get yours in before June! ⏰
As a PRIZE, if we reach at least ✨8 Members✨ before the end of May, I’ll draw a playful little Pin-Up of *this guy! 💎🔧
With summer coming up, I’ve definitely thought of a few fun poses to put my funny little man in~
And finally, here’s a little Sneak Peek for next month’s theme! And a quick follow-up question…

It boggles my mind that Clarence Thomas, perhaps the single most heinous human being in American history to ever sit on the Supreme Court, has a street address that brgins with 666. Like, that had to be intentional on his part. He CHOSE that specific house on that specific street in that specific neighborhood, there's no way he signed his mortgage papers and was shocked at the horrible revelation. It's satirical.

I'm so tired of people who only get their news from social media saying "Why is nobody talking about this?" THEY ARE you just had to scroll through your fandom content to get to it and for some reason equate that to silence from the general public and from the media

Had "a finding" on an MRA of my brain yesterday and my primary has put in a referral to a neurologist but won't tell me anything about what "a finding" means, so I just get to sit in that existential dread today. :)

Hey, I've got a new branding idea for that insipid website of yours, Boston Dumb Fuck!
After mulling over the winter wonderland of white, mostly male, photos posted for the self-congratulatory Washington DC tour, promoting that waste-of-time and possibly democracy debilitating website, A Starting Point (which is ironic, because, while a good idea, was dead in the water almost from the start), I was thinking maybe you guys could use a name punch-up.
I don't know if you have brought this futile project back from the dead to see if you can sell it (beware of covert conservative organizations who would love to take it off your hands so they could brainwash the youth of America; your information is so pointless now, it wouldn't be hard for someone to subtly turn their heads in any direction they desired), or if you want to distract us from the fact that the man who once confronted the grand wizard of the KKK, marched in Black Lives Matter rallies and claimed he was a feminist, is now "married" to an arrogant, antisemetic, racist fatshamer that he treats like shit. You aren't Captain America anymore, not that you ever were. But unlike your absurb website, you have to pick a side.
Or it could be a combination of both hemorrhaging cash and and the need for an image scrub, not to mention an ego stroking participation trophy after a long list of failures.
May I suggest possibly adding "Wack-jobs:", "Why?" or "WTF," (an acronym within an acronym is edgy) to the beginning, the new acronym being WASP. Afterall, that is all I saw from your visit and it is totally on brand.
In case it's been a while since you were called one, I have include part of the Wiki page below. Pay particular attention to the highlighted section at the bottom.
P.S.- I tried watching that promo video you created summarizing your DC experience, where you interview some of the young folks, and I nearly passed out from chocking on my own bile. Seriously, was that really a secret Easter egg for your upcoming cult movie, because that's what it looked like. You and Mark indoctrinating new recruits. So creepy!

The curse of being so knowledgeable on older animes is going to suck irl for as long as I live where I am-which is probably permanent rip-because man I wish it was possible from a education stand point for people to learn about the history of it. How anime has become such a phenomenon and one of the greatest works from across the global that has so much history to it that people in the west hardly know about unless they dig for it themselves. It’s something that deserves to have classes taught about it, deserves to have people learn and watch the all time classics that MADE anime-
but the issue with that is “even if anime popular it’s not apart hugely apart of our culture when it comes to how it was made and you can’t really show off most older works because they are long as fuck in a school that no student could reasonably stay on top of it” so this is never happening ever.

If you ever wonder how you can tell someone having a stroke there’s this poster at my work (I work for a hospital kitchen so I see this poster when serving tea & coffee to some of the patients in the afternoons )
Through I’d share it here in case anybody needed it or maybe they can use it for stories ideas

New clone OC: his name is monte cristo. Though not strictly speaking force sensitive, he has an uncanny ability to appear whenever the plot is overcomplicated. He doesn't seem to know why or how he turns up, but by golly, he's going to make this absurdly unlikely plan go off without a hitch through a combination of stage makeup disguises, more credits than he knows what to do with, and sheer luck.

The convenience of each language (single stroke index: SS index)
When it comes to conveying information quickly, the convenience of the language speaks for itself. It's not a case of being glamorous, it's about speed rather than perfection. Even if it's just a slightly strange expression, it's fine. English seems to be quite fast, but I made the following considerations. It analyzes whether or not each character can be written in one stroke for languages that use phonograms.
1-(P/L)::*
, and * is called the unicursal exponent. In English, a single stroke is called a single stroke, so it is also called the SS index. Below, for each language
1) English: The only letters that cannot be written in one stroke are i, j, t, and x, which is 26 letters.
1 - (4/26) = 0.84
2) Russian: It seems difficult, but the cursive handwriting is surprisingly simple, and there are 6 letters that cannot be written in a single stroke, so there are 32 letters in total.
1 - (6/32) = 0.81
3) Japanese (Hiragana)
There are 32 characters that cannot be written with a single stroke, and a total of 47 characters, so
1 - (32/47) = 0.32
Japanese (katakana) can only be written with 7 characters
1 - (40/47) = 0.15
The katakana seems to be very inefficient.
4) Arabic: There are 17 characters that cannot be written in a single stroke, so a total of 30 characters
1 - (17/30) = 0.43
5) German has three symbols called Umlaut.
1 - (7/30) = 0.77
6) French There are many additional symbols such as Axantegu. (By the way, there is also a bonus that the unread character string continues at the end of the word)
1 - (18/40) = 0.55
7) Consider Greek lowercase letters only
1 - (8/24) = 0.67
Regardless of today's situation, in the old days on the battlefield, transmitting information as simply as possible was a major factor in determining the outcome of a war. In that sense, English was the closest thing to a "world language," and in fact, it has become a "world language."
**Please note that this SS Index consideration is based on the assumption that all phonetic characters have equal frequency of use. **
