It was a weird looking cat, Coal has to admit, the six arms were one thing but as he grew closer he realised the creature almost seemed to float. Not quite touching the ground, just...hovering.
The night's sky of its fur glittered in a way that would be ominous f its little face wasn't so damn adorable.
"Sir, I must insist-" started Gram, waving his metallc arms in the slight panic that had never actually been programmd nto him. Unfortunately, having such a reckless creator had managed to generate anxiety by a natural process.
"It's cute!" Coal protests, look at it.
"It can swallow universes!"
"The universe of my heart." The cat - or not-cat - drifted closer to him, nuzzling its cosmic head against his hand playfully. "He's adorable, Gram, come on."
Gram observes the cat for a long moment, as if processing this fact, weighing up the statistical probability of it being correct. "If it eats you, I will blame you." The cat purrs in it's multilayered baritone, causing the robot to frown heavily. "Your processors must be malfunctioning if you think that is cute."
The cat growls at him. Coal laughs.
"I think someone's getting jealous."
"Don't be preposterous! Even if I had the capability-" but anything else he says is cut off, as Coal is too busy laughing at him.
“Hello, kitten-“ “Ummmm… human sir? That is an eldritch being. Not pet. Do not touch.” “Look, it’s fine. If it looks like a cat, it is a cat.” eldritch purring sounds

Jovian Planets
Learning about the Jovian Planets is interesting even finding out about no solid surface onto the gas planets like Saturn and Jupiter. The four outer planets have different wind patterns and magnetic fields that I didn't know about. i did enjoy drawing the diagrams of the core layers and the magnetic fields as it looks organized and informative.

Jovian Moons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These notes go along with the Jovian Planets by learning about the moons that orbits around the outer planets. I didn't know about Io's shape has been changed while going orbit around Jupiter going from stretchng to round and back to being stretched. Nice fact that Triton is larger than Pluto which sorry Pluto you are still not part of the main Solor System planets. You are still consider a dwarf planet by being smaller than Neptune's moon.

LONG DREAMS LACED WITH NIGHTMARES, his souls smells like tragedy, a peculiar perfume that only follows what this world calls "heroes". Curious eyes observing the frame of such perfect features, he sees a loneliness quite akin to his burning in those golden irises ( Something that summons curiosity ).
Tumblr media
HIS SILHOUETTE STRETCHNG WITHIN THE DARKNESS, his serpentine figure slithers to where this stranger stands, circling him like vines climbing around ancient stones ( no agressivity found in this gestures, it is the simple translation of a creature's interest ).               " We can smell Humanity within you... But there's something else. Something terrible. "

Gakuen Babysitters Season 1
Well, after stretchng it out for as long as I could, I finally had to watch the end of the season, and it ends as I suspected it would, not just with the whole review fo the emotional growth of the two main characters, but with a sound we’d never actually heard before.
If you’ve seen the episodes you’ll know what I mean, if you haven’t you might want to give it a try, it’s a fluffy, warm-hearted, emotionally manipulative as hell but is at least honest about it.
Whilst Ryūichi and Kotaro, as the orphaned brothers are a delight (with each being devoted to the other in their own way) some of the secondary characters are... not the sort you’d probably get away with in Western animation,
Hayato is a little too free and easy with hitting his much, much younger brother even if he DOES care deply for him and is just crap at showing it.
Tomoya is probably not intended to come across quite as creepily as he does with his fascination with young children (He apparently genuinely just finds them adorable, but has frequent nosebleeds when around them, and nosebleeds in anime have a very specific, and entirely contextually inappropriate, meaning which I will not dwell on here)
Kirin’s ultra-overprotective Dad is so wildly over the top it’s approaching the disturbing (but may have a basis in reality, I guess)
On the other hand, the Chairwoman of the school, and guardian of Ryuichi and Kotaro, is a fascinating creation, an elderly woman mourning the the loss of her own grown up son and daughter in law, and taking in the two boys partly for their sake, and partly for her own, but who grew up, one suspects, when emotional expressiveness was frowned upon, and so covers up her affection with stuffy mannerisms and brusque reactions.
A Season 2 is not yet confirmed AFAIK, though I believe there’s an OAV planned at least.
I don’t think the manga is out in English, but I do see a French translation, so might give that a shot when I get the chance.

The Next Morning
Faye woke up with a sore throat and swollen eyes. She held a sleeping Sophia in her arms, curled up on Jaymie’s couch, with a blanket draped over her. Meeme’s kids slept on an air mattress in the living room, the two healthy ones, anyway. Why was she here?
She got up, stretchng and looking around, before realization crashed over her.
She had left Freeman last night. She closed her eyes, pressing her palms against them to keep even more tears from falling. Her eyes were already red and puffy, and stung from the tears she had cried the night before. Everything was wrong.
“Morning.” Christian stood at the kitchen island, drinking a cup of coffee and looking at a newspaper. Faye gently got up, so she didn’t disturb Sophia, and moved into the kitchen, sitting down on a barstool at the island.
“Coffee?” Christian asked, motioning with his coffee cup.
“Yeah, thanks.” She wrapped her arms around herself, looking at the newspaper Christian had been reading.
“There’s another story about the kidnapping. It’s amazing how much they care about it when there’s no new developments.” He turned, smiling. “It’s like they want to bother you.” Faye turned the paper around to see what he was talking about, and there off in the corner, was the same picture the media had been using for the past two weeks of the girls.
She teared up staring at Amora’s happy, smiling face. She was just beginning to talk again, and Faye probably ruined that. She sighed, a tear slipping down her cheek. Christian placed the coffee cup in front of her, then leaned against the counter.
“Are you alright?” Faye sighed, wiping the tear away and taking the coffee. The warmth was the first thing of comfort she had felt since last night.
“Yeah just...going through a lot.” Christian smiled at her.
“I know. You’ll be okay.” She pushed himself off the counter and walked towards his bedroom. “I’m gonna put some real clothes on, I’ll be back okay?” Faye nodded, watching him disappear into the bedroom he shared with her sister. She heard coughing coming from somewhere too, but it sounded like a child. She couldn’t stay here long. The house was already full with Jaymie taking care of her best friend’s children. They were looking for a new house, and she was very pregnant. Faye would only be a burden.
She looked over at Sophia again, who was passed out on the couch. She also saw tear stains on her tiny cheeks. Her eyelids fluttered in a dream, and she shifted, rolling over onto her side. She walked over to the table, grabbing her phone. She had two missed calls and a text, from Eli.
Never heard that you got back okay last night. Call me when you get this.
She sighed, swiping on the notification to answer the text.
I’m safe. I’ll call you later.
She slipped the phone into her back pocket, turning when she heard a door open. Jaymie, looking pale, slipped out and closed the door behind her. She half smiled at Faye, pointing to the kitchen table.
“Are you feeling okay? You need sleep…”
“I’m fine.” She sat down at the table, rubbing her eyes. “Noah, however, woke me up three times last night. I’m sure you know, when a toddler tells you ‘I have to throw up’ you move quickly.” She laughed slightly. “I finally put him on the floor with a bowl.” Faye smiled, but she knew it didn’t reach her eyes.
“You need to tell me what happened.” Jaymie looked her in the eye. Faye sighed, sitting down and putting her head in her hands.
“I left Freeman.” She said flatly, steeling herself from feeling anything else. Jaymie gasped beside her, but she didn’t move, didn’t reach out towards her sister.
“Faye…” She said quietly. “Why?” Faye looked up at her sister, knowing what she was going to say next would piss her off.
“Because…” She fisted her hands into her hair. “Because Eli wants to be back in Sophia’s life. And...And I agree with him.” She willed herself to look at Jaymie, who was looking at her in shock. Her blue eyes had darkened, her mouth was slightly parted.
“Please don’t hate me.” Her voice craked and tears started running down her face again. Jaymie closed her eyes, looking down at the table.
“Faye, I don’t hate you.” She began, looking back up at her sister. “But, why? Why would you take Sophia away from the only father she’s ever known? For a man who left you before she was even born?”
“He was sixteen…”
“And so were you! You were just as scared as he was, but you rose up to the challenge, and now you’re a fantastic mother. Not only to Sophie, but to Amora too.”
“He’s changed, Jaymie. He went into the army, he grew. He’s genuinely sorry, and if everyone would just give him a chance…” Jamyie sighed, shaking her head.
“You know how I feel about him. I can’t say I agree with what you’re doing, but...if you honestly, truly feel it’s the right thing to do…” She looked closely at Faye, who pressed her lips together. Her hands knit together underneath the table.
“I do.” Jaymie leaned back in her chair, throwing her hands up.
“Then I can’t really stop you, can I?” She sighed again, placing her hand on her rounded stomach. “I don’t agree with this, Faye.”
“I know.” Faye chewed on her fingernail. “I understand.” Jaymie put her elbow on the table, jutting her finger in her sister’s face.
“If he does ANYTHING to make you doubt him, you get out of there, you understand me?” Faye nodded. “He’s not allowed to hurt you, and he’s definitely not allowed to hurt my niece.” She looked at Sophia, who had curled into a ball on the couch. “I hope you and Freeman can make amends some day. He’s hurting right now, I know that. And I’m mad at you for making him feel that way.” She stood up. “But you’re still my sister. And I’m here for you.”
Faye felt another tear slip down her cheek. She half smiled.
“Thank you.” Jaymie shook her head again, walking towards the bathroom.
“I’d hug you, but I’m pretty sure I’m about to throw up.” She quickly turned on her heel and threw open the bathroom door, slamming it shut behind her. Faye leaned against the table, burying her face in her hands. Even though she had partially gotten her sister’s blessing, she felt awful. She needed to leave.
When Sophia woke up, she said goodbye to her sister and her family, packed her daughter in the car, and drove over to Eli’s.

Gold Star Interview
Marlon Rabenreither
There is a wall stacked with amps where there might be a TV or a dining table in Marlon Rabenreither’s living room. The bookcases contain a library of music autobiographies and historic tomes, alongside reams of old vinyl records. The set-up could be from the 60s, ‘70s, or 80s, but the year is 2018 and when recording as Gold Star, the Austria-born and LA-bred Rabenreither makes music that’s similarly timeless and unable to pin to one context. Rabenreither began his solo project in 2013 and is readying the release of his third album, ‘Uppers & Downers’. On his latest release, the idea was to achieve a deeper scope, a more dynamic range: slow songs, fast songs, less genre specific, capturing all the moods. ‘Uppers & Downers’ is a collage that winks at classic eras, but with a modern bite and twist… We talk to Marlon about storytelling, overthinking and basketball…
TSH: Is there much of a shift in instrumentation coming into play for your upcoming album entitled ‘Uppers & Downers’?
Marlon: Absolutely. For my previous release, ‘Big Blue’, I went for very specific vocals and instrumentation; this was due to it being formed over the course of three days in the same room with the same musicians. With this latest album it was more a case of trying to make each song feel much more dynamic and really stretchng the sound palette in terms of what we could use to get weird sounds.
TSH: How did you approach the topics and themes for this record?
Marlon: It was a song by song kind of thing. The record consists of a collection of different gestures, mainly to do with personal experiences and stories about my friends. I’m mainly looking into things that I have gone through, rather than larger or broader themes. I feel like the topics covered are almost supposed to be like a collage with all these little narratives.
TSH: Do you often gravitate towards the storytelling route?
Marlon: A lot of the music that I like tends to be storytelling related and I think that’s why I naturally gravitate towards writing like this. It’s not so much because I’m good at it, haha! Maybe it’s just how I think and function; therefore that’s how I write.
TSH: Were both ‘Half the Time’ and ‘Chinatown’ written without too much deliberation?
Marlon: Yeah, kind of. I tend to just write in an unconscious way to some degree. I don’t even know what I’m trying to say. I never set out to write about a certain topic - it’s just what’s on my mind at a given moment. For both tracks and for most of the album we would just try the weirdest thing first. We even experimented with an echo chamber, toy microphones and also recorded drums outside of the lobby studio with microphones running through - just to see how crazy it would come out.
TSH: The album was recorded at the historic Valentine Recording Studio in Los Angeles. Was your level of focus quite intense or more free-flowing?
Marlon: I’d say it was a good combination of both. I guess you’re always aware that you’re in a special place and that you have time constraints. However, just going in with a lot of songs and being very open with what they could sound like and where they could go was most helpful.
TSH: Did you once again delve into using vintage gear?
Marlon: Absolutely. At Valentine’s they had this old audioboard that was custom built and was used by the Beach Boys. They also have all of the original tape machines from those sessions too. It’s really rare to have a perfectly functional analogue recording studio that is almost unchanged from the way it was when these legends used them.
TSH: Moreover, did you enjoy the aspect of having collaborators on board for this realise?
Marlon: Yeah, it was really a great experience. I’m grateful for everyone that was a part of it and for helping out. I didn’t have these types of ideas existing on my last record, but it was so much fun. We hired bass players and organ players by committee - we’d find the best musicians in town who were interested and we’d book them for a day or two and take it from there.
TSH: Does your creative process still include the idea of staying out of your own way, not doubting yourself and just following things through?
Marlon: I hope so, ha! My logic with regards to songwriting is that if you overthink a lot of the time and you try to be too deliberate then you end up pinning yourself into a corner. Besides if I feel restricted I just walk around the city to clear my mind.
TSH: When it comes to the rapid rise of technology in the music industry, do you feel that the pros and cons are very much like a double edged sword?
Marlon: For sure. Right now with technology it’s almost like the Wild West where no one knows what the future looks like. It really is like a double edged sword. I mean it’s amazing that everybody can release music and to know that the labels aren’t these gatekeepers, instead you can now be really creative on your own. The other side of it is that there is so much content and it’s so easily streamable - it almost makes music a little more disposable than it should be. People are not experiencing the whole record by sitting and listening and instead they are listening in snippets. It’s sad to know this because music has the potential to be really sacred, powerful and life-changing. I want to work against this disposable nature of how people listen to music, that’s for sure.
TSH: What do you miss most when you’re on tour?
Marlon: Well, I definitely miss my close friends and my girlfriend. Also, I miss just being able to sit at my desk and being able to write freely. I always look forward to getting back from tour so I can have my own time and space, which is something that’s hardly possible when you’re on the road, so I don’t take it for granted when I’m back. Also, with Los Angeles it always seems like there’s a lot going on with so much over-saturated information, therefore it’s vital to get new perspectives via escaping your comfort zone.
TSH: You’re also really into basketball, what do you make of Lebron James’ move to the Lakers?
Marlon: I’m a basketball fanatic! My favourite thing to do is to watch the games. It’s cool to know that the Lakers are going to be relevant again with Lebron on their side, perhaps they can finally put an end to the Golden State Warriors’ amazing form. Also, I don’t think there’s any argument to the fact that Lebron is perhaps the greatest basketball player of all-time.
TSH: What matters most with your vision as you look ahead with your musical ambitions?
Marlon: For me, it’s all about being honest with my music. This in itself is hard enough but if you get close to some sort of truth, then it’s important to stay in touch with that. I also want to remain open-minded and just see where the songs take me. It’s always amazing when my small gestures connect with others because music can be a struggle at times, but every time I’m able to make new connections it feels worth it.
