hey I know this blog hasn't updated in like a year but I saw Streetlight last night and Tomas is still wearing the same Fidel Castro hat, striped tee shirt, and stupid pants. Very comforting that despite the world rapidly changing around us, some things stay the same.

I can't believe I didn't know I had asks and submissions here. What the fuck why is this hellsite so broken.

Anyway yes....he is certainly embodying a sweet, sweet cuffed anchor in our lives (and sometimes now boy scout shorties instead!)

I came out of the dark tonight to this blog because I went to see them tonight and I'm glad people are still buzzing about here

i do not really LOVE any chore; i am a lazy creature. but dishes is probably the one i mind the least. there's no decisions that need to be made, nothing super fiddly, don't have to stomp all over the house to do it, you can put on a podcast or some music, it's chill

i definitely cross-stitch video game sprites from time to time

37. Do you still listen to the same music you listened to in high school?

lol ok this is an interesting question. some but not all? let's see here uhhh

ocremix (listened to in middle/high school): listen to this stuff much less than i used to

ska bands like Less Than Jake, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Streelight Manifesto, etc (listened to in high school): still listen to a lot, though a little less than i used to. and the bands with goofier miens (e.g. Less Than Jake) seem to have more staying power in the rotation than the serious/earnest ones (e.g. Streetlight Manifesto)

punk & pop-punk bands like Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Sex Pistols (listened to in high school): they are now Road Trip music to me. but i do do a couple biggish road trips a year so they're not totally out of the rotation

jrock bands like Do As Infinity, Ellegarden, L'Arc-en-Ciel (listened to in middle/high school): Ellegarden definitely had staying power, the others much less so. (at some point in college i discovered good headphones and... my lord, why was Do As Infinity's mixing so *muddy*? really harshes the replayability these days)

underground rap (listened to in early college): almost entirely fell out of the rotation, except for Aesop Rock. no idea why

post-rock like Explosions In The Sky, 65daysofstatic, etc (listened to in college): yes, though less often than i did back then

okay, typing it out like that, it seems like stuff i listened to in college has more staying power than the high school stuff, though the "best" band of any given genre seems to have staying power even if i get tired of the rest of it. nowadays i've been getting a lot more into neo-folk and uhhh very belatedly discovering bjork, and i also do listen to less music in general (sob), though i started a lot more now that i have a commute again so we'll see what new silly genre i decide to obsess over in the coming years lol
