Straw Hat Modern AU

I had fun sort with this even if it was difficult. I looked up what jobs, Oda would give the Strawhats in the real world and played around with everything. I kept it short and simple and imagined everything kind of following canon.

One Piece Characters in the Modern World

👒Luffy👒

Nationality: Brazilian Job: Firefighter Roommate: Sanji & Zoro or Ace & Sabo

👒Luffy is often wondering the city. 👒He does odd jobs around the city and his payment is often food.👒He shifts between apartment rooms either sleeping with his brothers or sharing an apartment with Zoro and Sanji. 👒He is often making friends with random people in the city differing from rich to the poor as he sees no difference.

⚔️Zoro⚔️

Nationality: Japan Job: Policeman Roommate: Luffy & Sanji

⚔️He gets lost a lot when traveling the city but will bring the most random stuff when coming home. ⚔️Sanji always drops him off at work so he doesn’t get lost and picks him up. And he always has a partner whenever they get called. ⚔️He can bee seen sleeping in the park, kids have tried missing with him a few times but with little or no results. ⚔️Became Luffy’s friend after Luffy defend him from a wrongful conviction

🍊Nami🍊

Nationality: Sweden Job: Nursey School Teacher Roomate: Robin

🍊She loves traveling and any time she has time travel she will travel. But won’t bring back souvenirs. 🍊She will teach her class about all the different cultures and places she visit, showing them maps or food. 🍊She does love to garden and as a large tangerine tree at the back of the school the kids help her take care of. 🍊She met Luffy after he helped her after a couple of violent men wreaked havoc in front of the school and he scared them off.

👺Ussop 👺

Nationality: Africa Job:  Graphic Designer Roommate: Chopper and Franky

👺He is a struggling Graphic Designer while his designs are amazing he struggles selling them. Selling himself too short. 👺He often boasts of his greatness and exaggerates how much money he makes despite sharing a small apartment room with Chopper and Franky. 👺He decorated the room of each one his friends bring the personality of each one to life. 👺He met Luffy who helped him with a bully and since then clung to Luffy.

🍳Sanji🍳

Nationality: France Job: Hair Stylist Roommate: Luffy & Zoro

🍳He shares a room with Luffy, and Zoro much to his dismay. 🍳He often gives his female clients a cheaper price on their hair cut and has men pay double. 🍳He works two jobs his other job is the Baratie helping an old friend Zeff cook 🍳He met Luffy after a small fire broke in the Baratie thanks to small gang set something of fire.

🍭Chopper 🍭

Nationality: Canda Job: Elementary School Teacher Roommate: Ussop & Franky

🍭He became an Elementary school teacher after an old elementary school teacher Hiriluk helped him through a tough time. 🍭Often gets confused as one of his students thanks to his size and look. He will fight with those who do call him small. 🍭He loves teaching the kids science experiments. 🍭He met Luffy after his class was in trouble and Luffy came and helped saving the students and him.

🪻Robin🪻

Nationality: Russian Job: Flight Attendant Roommate: Nami

🪻Shares an apartment room with Nami and her and Nami are often traveling together and exploring different countries 🪻She often will study the history of each country and buy history books or artifacts of the country. 🪻She will bring souvenirs for her friends and find special food for Luffy to take food to him. 🪻She has huge respect for Luffy after he saved her from the government and gave her will go live.

🤖Franky 🤖

Nationality: America Job: A Pilot Roommate: Ussop & Chopper

🤖He and Robin often travel together with her bring him his Soda to the Cabin. 🤖He knows a lot about planes and can name the type of aircraft it is. 🤖He does have a hobby of making bottled ships, he is surprisingly skilled for such a large man. 🤖Luffy saved him Robin from the save government attack and he gives his loyalty to Luffy.

🎸Brook🎸

Nationality: Austria Job: A detective Roommate: Jinbe

🎸He makes a lot of dead/bone puns or jokes and laughs at them a lot. 🎸He plays the violin in his office or his apartment, one he shares with Jinbe often to clear his head 🎸He plays in a small bar bend with a few old friends and plays once a week with the rest of the crew watching. 🎸He helped Luffy and Zoro with a case one time and decided to help Luffy a lot in future cases.

👘Jinbe👘

Nationality: India Job: High School Teacher Roommate: Brook

👘He is a very strict high school teacher, but his students still like him a lot. 👘His past is unknown, and students often speculate, and rumors spread more when he got caught hanging with Luffy. 👘He has a fish tank with saltwater fishes and a few pet sharks he takes and cares for deeply and named each fish. 👘He respects Luffy and became friends with him as Luffy is a child of an old friend of his.
