I’ve been on twitter since 2008. There’s been so many changes - people not knowing wtf it was to going mainstream felt like a giant learning curve. I’ve utilized it for blogging, photography, art.

Then when brands and politicians realized the amplification it was game over with noise. So much has changed and I’ve made some proper friends over the years on that platform, but this entire verification process is so wild to watch.

My last day at my job is the 16th, and I am admittedly nervous. It’s hard to walk away from something that has 1) provided a lot of financial stability as well as health insurance and other benefits and 2) society tells you is everything you should want from a job. But I want more and I want things that the company I work for can’t provide. I want more than a steady income that allows me to get by with a little leftover to squirrel away fro a rainy day. I want to have an income that allows me to thrive, to travel, to invest in myself. I want to have the flexibility to care for my mental and physical health, and my home, and pursue my dreams. At the end of the day, my art has been put on the back burner for the past few years because I was pursuing what society told me I should value, and as my partner can tell you, chasing after that instead of following my heart has lead to me being very stressed for the past 4 years. I’m ready to create beautiful things, be they embroidery (like my customized collar) or painting or maybe even finally learning how to cook. #366days day 58, #wip The theme of our local Arts & Crafts club meeting last night was Fabric painting and we were all given a flower which was painted on paper with special inks and then heat pressed onto fabric. We then outlined it with a running stitch and finished using a method of our choice. I chose some embroidery stitches. Seed stitch for the flower centre, straight stitch on the petals and feather stitch on the leaves. It's finished! It's a little wonky in spots due to being on a dishtowel, but overall I'm pleased with how it turned out. This is designed by myself with the help of @twirp.with.a.vest for their brand new apartment. 😊 I used straight stitches for the body in order to give texture to the fluff found on a honeybee, and satin stitch for the head and eye. Union special 61300J This machine was gifted to me by my friend @koahcipriano Hope you’re killing out in BC! This machine is a regular straight stitch but is gear driven as opposed to eccentric, shaft or belt. It sits a little closer to the operator in the table which was harder to get used to.
