it feels like something's caught in your throat, but it's all you know, so. it's okay that you see sex as a necessary tool, a sort of okay-enough ritual to keep him happy, even though he doesn't seem to care about happiness as-applied-to you. it is relationship upkeep. it is kissing him and smiling even though he didn't brush his teeth. it is getting on your knees and looking up and holding back a sigh because he barely holds you as you panic through the night. it's not like the sex is bad and you do like feeling wanted. and besides! he's a man! like... they're another species. you'll never be able to actually communicate, right. he isn't listening.

are you saying that is bi and straight women experience their sexuality as normal, therefore they must see lesbian sexuality as abnormal?

No I'm saying that plenty of them see lesbian sexuality as abnormal, they won't use that word but it sweats from everything they say when talking about anything that doesn't involve men in general. Of course they'll see their sexuality as normal, because it is, just like being homosexual or bisexual is normal, but they still envision our lesbianism as abnormality, a "queer" lifestyle, marginality. But because the people I'm talking about are more progressive on paper than other straight people it won't necessarily look like attacking us directly like that but by calling concepts and ideas close to lesbianism as weird and abnormal. Like I've seen separatism being described by them. The more we take distance with men as women (so that can also include osa women who chose to be political celibates or febfems or to focus on women only spaces) the more it will be seen as extreme, radical. The concepts themselves are mocked, female separatism is seen by them as for dreamers, unrealistic women, women not feminist enough to fight further sexism, wanting to just be alone in the woods and call it a day. What I'm saying is they might try to defend themselves from accusations of being lesbophobic but they can't even fathom the concept of women desiring and acting to have a life as far away as possible from men.

Straight people have written the rules of normalcy when it comes to "lifestyle" and so continue to refer to that by deeming abnormal anything that diverge from it, from the omnipresence of men, whether it be conscious or not.
