In the Dark

My work is a picture of observing and recording the night scenery of the reclaimed land. The pitch-black darkness of the landfill at the end is full of fierce wind and sea smell. The strange scenery revealed through artificial light flows with a calm and strange tension. Find traces of nature remaining between creation and extinction and bury its existence. 2021

For the record: I take all my VP on console with basically no editing.

(Rotate, crop, maybe minor color correction if a shot I really like came out too dark.)

I hate using the term "best" to describe things, it is such an arbitrary and hierarchical word. Fandom is supposed to be about community, not competition. Getting notes on this Hellsite™ in a fandom has almost nothing to do with being the "best", or being "good", or having the fanciest PC, or being popular, or how much "content" you crank out at a speed you can't sustain...

Fandom is about making friends.

I'm not the best at anything. I will say I am a console cheese wizard though and I've got a few close chooms that I support the heck out of because they support the heck out of me. Anything I know, I know because I took the time to learn.

And if anyone tells you (including yourself) that you can't make art and take cool ass VP on console or in vanilla photomode, they're wrong. Because I know you can. I believe in you.

is it always the same owl? how do u know

Hi! We have two owls, who are mates, who've been hanging out with us for a few years. Barred owls are highly territorial, plus their habits are recognizable to us now - they have favorite trees and favorite branches on those trees, regular visiting hours, and you can tell which is which by their calls, though it helps if they're standing next to each other.

They also know that I will put peanuts out for the Steller's jays, if they start to get mobbed, and that the peanuts draw the jays away. If they see me out and about they'll wait for me to do this now instead of what they used to do, which was get real fluffy and stressed and fly away. For comparison to my latest, this is stressed out owl tracking jays. Look at the eyes:

Stranger owls wouldn't trust me in quite the same way, though Barred owls aren't too fussed about people in general.

This is of course in exchange for the owls not eating our favorite Douglas squirrel family. They are not aware that this is the deal, but so far so good anyway.

tldr; I know because we vibe.
