It is undeniably summer (in the northern hemisphere), so here is something in the spirit of it I made as part of a group present in one of my discord groups. But it is also a part of the beach AU that has been present in my brain for a long time. So stay safe and hydrated wherever you are. Some steps of the process: :)

There are a lot of good reasons for the epilogues in the Stormlight Archive, but the most important reason is to let The Lopen progress through the oaths by doing mundane, anticlimactic bullshit, like tying his shoes or talking to his cousin

I really really want Lopen and Szeth to interact post WaT, because Lopen could teach Szeth all his one-armed Herdazian jokes.

I love Dawnshard so much! Rysn's fantasy discord server for paraplegic ladies. Rushu being such a glorious ADHD nerd at all times. The wisdom under the Lopen's goofiness when he talks to Talik and Rysn about their shared experiences of being othered by the Alethi and the able-bodied, respectively. Rysn and Cord both independently having conversations with people where they talked about discovering that they wanted risk and adventure. (👀 please Mr. Sanderson, let them sail around the world together and kiss!!) Rysn crying because Vstim called her a friend. Cord being ready to trick and/or fight any god who comes for Rysn when they've only been friends for like a day. Chiri-Chiri making tiny, adorable roars to protect Rysn. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail, and when your hammer is trade negotiation, you sit down across from a guy who's 300 cremlings in a trench coat and make a sales pitch for not killing you.

The argument that Moash was the only one in Bridge Four that didn't see Kaladin as some kind of deity or hero really falls apart once you get to the Bridge Four POV chapters in Oathbringer. They're like "yeah, Kaladin is great, but sometimes he can be an idiot, you know" and things of the sort.

Meanwhile, in Oathbringer and Rhythm of War Moash's POVs actually show that he paints Kaladin as this perfect man and soldier.

my headcanon is that the reason Kaladin says "honor is dead, but i'll see what incan do" at the end of WaT is because after Dalinar's Oathbringer was published, the Lopen and other members of bridge four read it and decided to keep saying it to Kaladin, to the point it became a habit to say

Long time no post! I've been busy with the lineart for this commission of the post-highstorm scene from the Way of Kings. I love how this is coming along.

SPOILER WARING FOR WORDS OF RADIANCE, I guess...

YAY! There will some more posts this year from things I could not share before. One of these is the first illustration of the six I made for Nexus 2024's con game. The story card decks! 

I got to illustrate the short story "King Lopen The First of Alethkar" by Brandon Sanderson and Isaac Stewart. A side story from the end of Words of Radiance and some character growth we missed out in the main books. 

It was so awesome seeing everyone trading these at Nexus and I got to sign quite a few. I hope I get to share more of it in the future, but for now I can show you this one, of Lopen ending (nay diminishing) his opportunities for one-armed-jokes and many cousins to witness it.
