The long awaited(?) 7th round of character profiles! We looking at the Babylon rogues this time cuz I love the birb fam

Jettison (Jet): Professional racer and part-time annoying little brother of the group, Jet is the more lively heart of his little flock. Still young and hot-headed, He is quick to anger and never backs down from a challenge. Even at the cost of his health, much to the other's dismay.

Wave: The only one Jet even sort of listens to, Wave is the brains of the group. She often cares for and trains Jet for his races as his personal coach but loves to tinker with machines in her free time. She's the calmest in messy situations but don't let that trick you into thinking she wont snap a neck if need be.

Storm: The protective eldest brother of the group. He speaks little and is on guard always after escaping their home city many years ago with his three siblings. Storm is often lost in thoughts and thus appears to never pay attention to many conversations, but he remembers them quite well. He's often the one carrying around Jet's things, being the strongest and all.

Ruin (oc): Storm's only blood sibling of the flock, Ruin is often in competition with Jet for whatever strikes her fancy in the moment. Crafty and mischievous, most problems for the group are often caused by her but with her quick wit, can eventually get the group out of it. Chaotic, she loves pranks and jokes, but will have to be reigned in when she inevitability goes too far.

A bunch of Project Alacrity AU art for a possible Epilogue chapter of sorts!

I couldn't seem to find a place where they would fit in the main timeline, and I've heard that many headcanon Riders as a later entry in the series, so here we have the leaders the Babylon Rogues! Jet, Wave, and Storm!

These three were designed with the intent of being the kids of the main cast; Team Legacy, if you will:

- Dash: Magenta furred and filled with determination, Amy's son is eager to lead his friends out on adventures just like his idol, Sonic!

- Gemini: an AI robot model designed by Dr. Prower, capable of disguising themself as your average fennec. They are cautious and are often the voice of reason.

- Tikal "Kala": Daughter of Knuckles and Shade, the princess of the newly united Echidna Tribe is training to become the future Guardian of the Master Emerald. She's the muscle but isn't as gullible as you might expect.

Lastly, we got a side by side look at Gemini's disguised and normal robotic designs. (they custom created their Mobian look all on their own!)

idk if this will make sense but like. the way birb feathers work for mobians IN MY LORE AT LEAST is that like, they have individual feathers and fluff layers like a regular bird. BUT. the reason they have shapes or some have limited strands or pieces (take wave for instance) that do not seem feathery or textured at all… is NOT because it is one big feather or plume or anything.

instead, feathers are often loose and fluffy, but styled into these loc-like shapes for convenience and also personal flare. it takes a lot of maintenance and upkeep for them to stay so uniform and unruffled, especially if you have less of them, but it’s still less maintenance than having to deal with daily styling

ultimately, out of the rogues, jet has the least managed (but still heavily managed) feathers because he loves the mohawk or ponytail look— it’s out of his face and even if they get ruffled by the wind, they’re behind him.

storm has 3, and is the most confident in his styling ability because there’s no mohawk, hairtie, or bandana to cover him when he’s not feeling up to it. king shit

wave’s feathers,,, are a good representation of her personality. having feathers styled THAT LONG is basically unheard of. like she has never molted that shit off she is COMMITTED and they aren’t extensions either. don’t ask me how they feathers grow longer like hair i haven’t decided which reasoning i want to go with yet. anyways, wave’s feathers require THE MOST effort, but the reason why storm still surpassed her is because. of the bandana. wave isn’t styling those fucking baby feathers, so on a good day her head is smooth, but most days it is the bird equivalent of hat hair and a scrunkly mess of choppy fringe. and i love her

Junko is getting some slight tweaks to his design; basically just his hooves and ears. I want his hooves to look like actual hooves, and not just weird feet with hard bits attached, and I'm giving him little ear tufts, 'cause Wallops are very clearly based on Rhinos, and some Rhinos have ear tufts :)

incoherent ramblings under the cut

tbh i really hated the fact that g5 got away from the dumbass names they'd give to the ponies and i wanted to try to bring that back but still have g4's flare to it

i made hitch green cause god damn it we need more green horses in this world, and the fact that he and sunny look too alike like you could mistake them for being siblings (plus changing him to be loosely cactus theme ties him back into his sheriff stick in my opinion) (also i kinda hate how his cutiemark turned out, oh well)

every day i grieve the hippie izzy we could've had, i would've LOVED a hippie main character. Also i made her reflect her moon name better cause it really bugged me that she had moon and they did nothing with it, moonshine is a sleep therapist that does art on the side in this. I gave her dreadlocks to help differentiate her from misty but still keep the natural hair (also haha alcohol name)

I also grieve mechanic sunny, it wouldve been so fun having her invent shit on the fly, not to mention it would actually give her a hobby cause all she does is roller skate and sell smoothies when she isn't yapping. And now that i think about it if she was a mechanic it would make even more sense on how they managed to make that flying van thing they use.

Zipp and Pipp have always annoyed me in a design sense I hated how they didn't look related and i hated zipp's hair style toothpaste looking ass. I wish they would commit and give her a mow hawk but alas we live in a cruel world. My designs for them don't really help them look that much more related but I did give them the same markings so you can't say i didnt try. Another thing I changed zipp's special talent from daredevil or whatever to making storms because A i think it wouldve been interesting to see a character who needed magic to gain their cutiemark and B it helps differentiate her more from rainbow dash.

Misty I have the least amount of issues of her in canon cause I think her design is actually really stinkin cute! I mostly just made her look shyer and got rid of the weird pink gradients on her cause they didn't really look that good. (plus her orange mane she gets later I don't like as much)
